Moved In
"Maybe if we turn it upside down." Daryl said, standing outside in the lane of AJ and Punk's new house.
"Why would that make a difference?" Becca questioned, "The width will still be the same."
"At least I'm trying to offer some suggestions. You're just standing there." Daryl scoffed.
"It's obviously not going to fit through the door." Becca said.
"You think I could saw down the door frame a little?" Punk wondered as they all turned to him.
"Didn't you measure up before ordering the sofa?" Finn asked.
"That would have been smart." Lyla nodded.
"Thank you all for your infinite words of wisdom." Punk shook his head, "We're like the damn circus removal team."
They had all been summoned to help Punk get the new sofa into the house, but they quickly realised it was too large to fit through the front door, regardless of which way they manoeuvred it.
"Lyla has already jammed my hand in the door. I think my safety is at risk." Daryl said.
"I told you to move it." Lyla glared at him.
"You never gave me a chance, you just rammed it right in. I already have steel plates in my leg. I don't want them in my hand." Daryl said.
"Becca, you think Patrick could come down and help us?" Punk turned to Becca.
"Patrick has better things to do with his time." Becca scoffed.
"What? Like milk the goats?" Punk questioned.
"Yes." Becca bit back, "And anyway, it wouldn't matter if we had ten people here. That thing is not fitting through that door." Becca concluded as Punk ran his hand through his hair, which at the start of the day was slicked back but was now dishevelled over his eyes.
"We have to get it in somehow." Punk said, "I could take the door off the hinges. I think they're making it harder." He nodded.
"Wow, what a dream team." AJ smiled, walking down the lane with some grocery bags.
"I said I'd go to the store later." Punk scoffed, taking the bags from her immediately as she just smiled and ignored him.
"We can't get the sofa through the door." Daryl told AJ.
"I can see that." AJ nodded to him.
"It's ok. I'll figure it out." Punk nodded to AJ calmly.
"You realise you can take these off?" AJ asked, wandering over to the sofa, which was tilted on its side, screwing off the wooden caps at the bottom which was adding more width to it.
They all watched with defeat as AJ took a few centimetres off their dilemma, taking the feet of the couch off and sitting them down on the ground.
"Try it now." AJ nodded, putting her hands on her hips as the boys went inside the house and the girls took the end which was sticking out.
"On three." Daryl nodded to them all.
"Oh, just lift now." Becca scoffed, all of them lifting the sofa and finally getting it through the door.
"Well… that's four hours of my life I'll never get back." Finn concluded.
"Well done, children." Punk nodded, the stress lifting from him upon seeing the sofa fully in the house, carrying it over into the living room area and sitting it down in position.
"I wouldn't recommend you guys to a friend." AJ told them, "Don't forget these." She said, passing the feet of the couch to Punk who smiled.
"We could have done with your expertise a few hours ago." Punk smiled, pressing a kiss on her head.
"You're the one who doesn't want me anywhere near the moving process." AJ said.
"Correct." Punk nodded, kneeling down, and screwing the feet of the couch back on to give it more height.
"Seeing as you're all here, and it's a Sunday, and we're officially moved in here now. I thought I'd do us all dinner. A housewarming dinner." She said.
"Will there be roast potatoes?" Daryl asked curiously.
"If you want there to be roast potatoes." AJ smiled, wrapping her arm around him, heading through to the kitchen as Finn followed the grocery bags curiously.
"Invite Patrick and Carlo over, too." Punk nodded to Lyla and Becca who both smiled.
"When did you bake this?" Punk asked as AJ presented dessert later that night, sitting a large chocolate cake with strawberries on top, in the centre of the table for everyone to help themselves.
"At The Brewberry whilst you guys were figuring out the sofa situation." AJ said.
"Can I just say… when you guys move again, I will be unavailable for helping." Daryl made clear.
"Why? Will you be making too many late-night drives?" Punk asked him as Daryl scoffed.
"What do you mean?" Daryl said innocently, taking a slice of cake onto his plate.
"Old ladies, man. They see everything." Punk nodded to Daryl with a grin.
"I haven't shown you guys the nursery yet." AJ remembered.
"I've seen it." Nico said, tucking into her cake.
"The girls haven't. Come see." She insisted, standing up from the table.
"Can you give me the recipe for this cake?" Finn asked AJ quietly as she walked by.
"Of course I can, sweetie." AJ smiled, placing her hand on his shoulder as she headed to the stairs to lead the way for Lyla and Becca.
"Did you go neutral?" Lyla asked, walking up the spiral staircase.
"Yeah. White walls with stickers." AJ said.
"Oh my God, it's adorable." Becca frowned, "I want to throw up." She sighed as AJ scoffed, proudly standing in the centre of the nursery.
"The storks carrying the babies on the stickers is so cute." Lyla frowned, "And the clouds with happy faces. This is too much." She shook her head as AJ chuckled.
"Yeah, it's all very cute." AJ nodded, "I also have my hospital bag packed here." She said, pointing to the bag sitting on the rocking chair in the corner, "We got the carriers installed in the car, too. Phil just needs to set up the double stroller."
"Hopefully you can get it in the door. Phil isn't particularly good with measurements." Becca rolled her eyes as AJ smiled.
"Are you getting nervous?" Lyla asked her best friend.
"Yeah, of course I am. They're going to be here so soon." AJ said, staring at the cribs in awe, not believing there would be two tiny babies lying in them soon.
"What's your birthing plan?" Becca asked.
"I'd like to do it naturally, but it can be difficult with twins. Most often than not it ends up being a C-section." AJ shrugged, "I just want them to get here safe. I don't really care how."
"Yeah, that's the main thing." Lyla nodded, "Are you still not going to tell us their names?" She frowned.
"Not until they're here." AJ said, "But we did finally agree on a girl name. So, we're set. Unless we see their little faces and change our mind." She said.
"I doubt that will happen." Becca scoffed.
"Do you think your parents will come visit?" Lyla asked whilst Becca lifted up a onesie and made affectionate groaning noises.
"Probably not." AJ shrugged, "I mean… I haven't told them. So, definitely not."
"You haven't told them?" Lyla turned to her, "I thought you said you did."
"No. I said I was going to. But… I haven't." AJ shrugged as Becca looked at her.
"Don't you think you should?" Becca asked, "I mean… this is their grandchildren."
"Is it?" AJ questioned, "They'll never be in their lives. They've never cared enough to visit me all these years. This wouldn't change a thing. Trust me, I know them."
"But… you're still paying their bills?" Lyla asked.
"You pay their bills?" Becca questioned with surprise, "You're even nicer than I thought."
"They're not great with money so… yeah, I send some over every month." AJ nodded, "Now I realise that with two kids and a mortgage… it's maybe time to stop. Which I know will just cause a huge rift between us."
"If it does then they never deserved your kindness in the first place." Lyla shook her head, "You got your own family now. They come first."
"I know." AJ nodded, "Aunt Nico will be the only grandmother they'll ever need. I know that much."
"Then they're the luckiest kids ever." Becca said, "Not just that but they have the coolest Aunts. Shame about the immature uncles."
"Stop being mean to Daryl and Finn." AJ told her, "I don't know how we would have managed to move in here so quick without their help. They're good kids."
"Still my enemies." Becca mumbled, "And I can't believe Shiv hasn't told us she's hooking up with Daryl again. What are best friends for if not for sharing every detail of life with?"
"Maybe they just don't want the fuss." Lyla said, "Cause let's be honest, we've tortured the both of them with jokes for the whole year. I can understand why they want to keep it on the down low."
"I'm going to miss trying to force them together." Becca frowned, "What are we supposed to channel our energy into now?"
"Running the coffee shop whilst I'm on maternity leave." AJ suggested, "I could hire someone part-time to help you guys out."
"Shiv will be back for Summer. And Nico said she'd fill in if we need her." Lyla said, "Don't you worry your pretty little head. Just focus on being a new mama bear."
"Who is going to take over Phil's shop?" Becca asked curiously, "He can't possibly leave it in the hands of Daryl."
"I think he is." AJ laughed a little, "He's only taking a month off. And let's face it, these babies are going to be raised between our coffee shops."
"We get dibs on the girl. They can have the boy." Becca blurted out.
"That's my son." AJ gasped with offence, placing her hand on her stomach.
"No boys beyond this point." Becca reminded her as AJ just rolled her eyes.
"What a day." Punk said, leaving the on-suite bathroom with nothing but a towel around his waist, making his way over to the bed where AJ was sitting up reading, looking over her glasses at him with a smile.
"My day just got a whole lot better." She smirked as he chuckled, "You have a very attractive back." She tilted her head, watching him drop the towel as her eyes travelled further down, "And ass."
"I'm going to miss your pregnancy hormones." Punk nodded, sliding on some boxers before collapsing down on the bed beside her.
"One of them is kicking." AJ said as Punk put his hand over her stomach, "Now they've stopped." She realised.
"They always stop when I want to feel. I bet it's the girl. She's teasing me already." Punk concluded as AJ chuckled.
"It's possible." She nodded, running her hand through his damp hair, "Thank you for the past few weeks." She said seriously.
"For what?" He looked up at her.
"For moving us in here and keeping me calm throughout the whole experience. Tonight, this place actually felt like a home. Having everyone here for dinner. All our furniture moved in. I mean… we're going to make some really important memories here." She said.
"I'm still going to build you a house, though." Punk nodded as she smiled, "The little aliens are going to take their first steps in this place." He realised.
"You should really stop calling your children aliens." AJ suggested.
"Don't you think all babies look like aliens when they're born? Covered in mucus and all wrinkled up." He said.
"You've witnessed a baby being born before?" She asked.
"Not in person. Just… heard stories. Seen pictures." Punk nodded, "It's a fact."
"So, you're not going to cry with joy the first second you see them?" AJ wondered.
"I don't know how I'll feel." Punk admitted, "I guess it's one of those things you don't understand until you experience it."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." AJ nodded, "To be continued, then." She smiled to him.
"To be continued." He nodded, sitting up and kneeling between her legs, taking her glasses off and sitting them on the bedside table along with the book she was reading.
"It's been really hot seeing you lifting heavy things these past few weeks." She nodded as he chuckled.
"Yeah?" He teased, leaning in, and kissing her neck as she rolled her head back a little.
"Mhm." She moaned, running her hands down his back, placing them inside his boxers and squeezing his ass as he chuckled.
"You're wet." Punk moaned into her ear, having placed his hand inside her shorts, stroking her slowly.
"You walked in here with a towel around your waist." She answered, "Of course I am." She whispered as he smiled, pulling her down a little so she was lying on her back, pushing her shorts down as she turned onto her side.
The more pregnant she got, the more creative they had to be in positioning themselves, but the end goal was always achieved, and there had been a new, sensitive, and passionate side to each other which they'd experienced throughout the whole process. It had become less about ripping each other's clothes off and more about each other's bodies and feelings. But the desire never changed. It stayed as heightened as it was from the first time they slept together.
He lay down on his side behind her, entering her from behind as she lifted her hand to cup his cheek behind her.
"Fuck." She moaned, "That feels so good." She sighed with joy, feeling her nerves tingling every time he thrust inside.
"Keep telling me." Punk murmured against her neck, groaning with every thrust, caressing his hand down her body as she moaned and begged for more.
