Chapter 3: Challenge of Power
"Thank you for gathering bright and early today," King Bumi announced over the low hum of the crowd. "I have no doubt you're all eager to take on the first challenge."
After a few days to settle in and recover from their travels, it was finally time for the youngest cohort of adventurers to compete in the Challenge of Power. Teams huddled together in a small chamber beneath the palace, the dim lighting and lack of windows giving the room a tense atmosphere.
"The first challenge, as you all know, is the Challenge of Power."
Sokka stole a stealthy glance at Princess Azula from across the room. She caught him in the act, meeting his gaze with the precision of an eagle hawk before turning her attention back to Bumi.
"The challenge is quite simple," Bumi continued, a mischievous glint in his eye. "You will enter a room with a large metal door on the opposite wall. Your objective is to retrieve the treasure on the other side of the door."
A ripple of murmurs spread through the crowd, the adventurers exchanging guesses about what lay in store.
"As previously mentioned, each party will face off against another team. Whichever team completes the challenge wins, or if both teams succeed, the one with the faster time will advance. After all rounds are complete, you will be debriefed on the solution." He paused, his grin widening. "Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for… I will announce who's competing against whom."
The room buzzed with anticipation, competitors eyeing each other like predators sizing up prey.
"For round one, we'll have the Freedom Fighters versus the Earthlings!"
The two teams exchanged polite nods, their camaraderie a stark contrast to the cutthroat atmosphere.
"For round two, we'll have the Kyoshi Warriors versus the Fire Starters!"
The Fire Starters responded with sharp glares and cocky smirks. In perfect unison, the Kyoshi Warriors countered with a bow, their discipline unwavering.
"For round three, we'll have the Lunar Knights versus the Twin Flames!"
Azula's lips curled into a smirk. This was going to be a battle of the princesses. Only one would survive – metaphorically, of course. She locked eyes with Princess Yue's soft, kind gaze. Yue smiled, her expression the epitome of grace. Azula's smirk faltered into something more cordial, until she realized Yue's gaze wasn't meant for her at all. Yue was looking past her. At Zuko.
Zuko, oblivious, gave Yue a friendly wave.
"And finally," Bumi continued, "for round four, we'll have the Party Boys versus Team Sage!"
"Aw yeah!" the Party Boys shouted before high-fiving each other and pretending to have a private dance party in the middle of the room.
Aang tilted his head, intrigued. "Aw, they look fun."
"They do," Katara agreed, though her smile tinged with mischief. "It almost makes me sad that we're going to knock them out of the competition."
"The key word there is 'almost'," Sokka quipped, a sly grin on his face.
Toph snorted. "I won't feel bad about it."
"Now, without further ado" Bumi declared, "let's get this tournament started! Will the Freedom Fighters please step forward?"
Jet, Smellerbee, Longshot, and Pipsqueak broke away from the crowd, striding to the front with confidence. Bumi raised his staff, and with a command of "Locamontia!", the earthen wall shifted, revealing a passageway.
Jet glanced back at the rest of the competitors, flashing a flirtatious wink that seemed meant for everyone before leading his team inside the passageway.
"Blech," Sokka groaned, making a face. "Good riddance."
"Hey. Sokka, right?"
As the remaining teams funneled out of the chamber, Sokka found himself shoulder-to-shoulder with the Fire Nation princess. Even though she barely came up to his chin, her presence made him straighten instinctively.
"Oh, h-hey, Azula. Princess Azula."
"Still jumpy around attractive girls, I see," she teased, her voice smooth as silk.
"Don't flatter yourself," he shot back, chuckling.
To his surprise, she smiled.
"So, what do you have against the Freedom Fighters?" she asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Come on, I saw you groaning when their team went in. It was hard to miss."
"I…" He smirked. "I didn't realize how closely you were watching me, Princess."
"I'm quite observant," she replied coolly.
"Sure, sure," he teased. "I don't have a problem with the Freedom Fighters. Just their leader."
"Oh?" Her interest was piqued. "What's wrong with Jet?"
"Pretty boy thinks everyone wants him. It's obnoxious."
Azula shrugged. "He's hot and he knows it. Nothing wrong with that."
"Oh, so even you think he's hot?" Sokka snorted. "I'm surprised a royal princess would consider slumming it with a commoner."
She started to laugh. "If I limited myself to noble blood in this competition, my only options would be…" She pretended to think. "The Party Boys." Her laughter intensified. "Thanks, but no thanks."
"What's wrong with the Party Boys?" he asked with mock offense.
She gave him a dry look. "At least we won't have to worry about that joke team for long."
"Aw, you have that much faith in my team?" He batted his eyelashes playfully. "I'm flattered."
She sighed, rolling her eyes.
"Yeah… we got very lucky with our matchup."
"You call it 'lucky', I call it 'rigged'. Who's to say which one of us is right?" she smirked.
"Wait… you don't really think it was – "
"Hey, Sokka!" Princess Yue's voice cut through the air. She approached them with a radiant smile. "Hi, Princess Azula. Sorry for interrupting – I just really wanted to introduce myself." Yue dipped her head respectfully.
"It's nice to meet you, Princess Yue," Azula said, mirroring the gesture. "Your reputation precedes you."
"Oh, I should hope not," Yue laughed. "Back home, I may be the perfect, obedient princess, but this is the first time away from my parents, and I'm having the best time!"
"Well, there's something we have in common," Azula replied smoothly.
"Yes! I was having a lovely conversation with your brother the other day about how similar we are despite being from worlds apart." Yue's eyes sparkled. "We were bonding over overprotective parents and cleric-related stuff."
Azula quirked an eyebrow. "Ah yes, cleric-related stuff. And that's where we differ."
Sokka interjected with a grin. "Hey, I don't even have mana. No idea what it's like to use light or dark magic."
"You know," Yue said softly, "I was actually born without mana."
"Huh?" Azula frowned. "Is that even possible?"
"When I was born, I was very sick and very weak," Yue explained. "Most babies cry when they're born, but I was born as if I was asleep, my eyes closed. Our clerics did everything they could. They told my mother and father I was going to die."
Sokka instinctively placed a comforting hand on Yue's shoulder.
"My father pleaded with the spirits to save me. That night, beneath the full moon, he brought me to the Spirit Oasis and placed me in the pond. My dark hair turned white." She gestured to her white hair. "I opened my eyes and began to cry, and they knew I would live. That's why my mother named me Yue. For the moon."
"So, you have the Moon Spirit's mana?" Sokka asked, his tone reverent.
"I do," she said. "I owe the Moon Spirit my life."
"You hear that, Azula?" Sokka teased, his grin widening. "Princess Yue has the power of the moon!"
"It's not a competition," Yue giggled. "Oh, except I guess it is, isn't it?"
Azula's eyes narrowed slightly, though her smile remained. She couldn't tell if Yue's kindess was genuine or a veiled attempt at intimidation. Either way, Yue's soft demeanor set her teeth on edge.
"It's too bad our teams are matched up first," Yue continued cheerfully. "I'd love to get to know you and your team better! Let's meet up sometime after the tournament?"
"That would be lovely," Azula said with perfect politeness.
"Great! Oh, there's Katara! I have a million more questions to ask her about the Southern Water Tribe. See you later!" Yue gave Sokka a quick hug before dashing off.
"Well, you two seem chummy," Azula remarked dryly.
"Oh yeah," Sokka chuckled nervously. "We've been, uh, spending some time together, you know… exploring the city. Doing… activities."
"Okay, I don't need to hear about that," she scoffed, walking away.
"N-No, that's not what I – ! It's just been nice learning more about my sister tribe!" he called after her. He sighed.
Azula waved him off, her pace unfaltering. As she rejoined her team, a sly grin crept across her face. Moon powers be damned. She was more determined than ever to demolish the Lunar Knights.
At last, it was time for the Twin Flames to begin the first challenge. Azula led her team down the dimly lit earthen passageway into the chamber. On the far side of the room loomed a large metal door, just as Bumi had described. What he hadn't mentioned was the Komodo rhino guarding it.
The massive beast let out a snort, pawing the ground with its clawed hooves. Its beady reptilian eyes locked onto them with a feral intensity; its sharp horns gleamed like weapons in the chamber's faint light. A heavy chain anchored it to a post by a thick metal collar around the beast's neck. The rhino strained against it, threatening to break free at any moment.
"Ahhh!" Ty Lee let out a shriek, jumping behind Zuko.
Azula exhaled slowly, a rare hesitation flickering across her face. She hadn't expected this. She'd been prepared to battle a dark spirit – a creature of malice and menace, something worthy of the "challenge of power". But this? A live animal? And a chained up one at that? It felt… wrong.
The party of four stood in a tense line at the back of the chamber, gripping their weapons. Ty Lee steadied herself into a nimble fighting stance, though her wide eyes betrayed her nerves.
"What are you thinking?" Zuko whispered, his voice shaky.
"I don't know," Azula admitted, frustrated. Her mind raced, calculating the seconds slipping away. The Lunar Knights' performance pervaded her thoughts – the team with the fastest time would win. Every moment mattered. "The logical solution would be to defeat the rhino, bust down the door, and retrieve the treasure. But that's not going to work."
"Why not?" Mai asked flatly, her hand already resting on a throwing knife. "Seems pretty straightforward to me."
Azula shook her head. "For one, look at the door. It's massive – there's no guarantee we can open it, even with magic. But more importantly, even if we did defeat the rhino…"
"…it would block the door," Sokka huffed, crossing his arms. "And, no offense, but none of us are strong enough to haul a thousand-pound rhino carcass out of the way."
Toph smirked and cracked her knuckles. "I could blast that mess away in my sleep."
Aang's face twisted in shock. "We're not seriously considering blasting the rhino, are we?! Seriously?! Look at him! He's not just some obstacle to blow up!"
The rhino lunged forward with a guttural roar, its chain rattling as it strained against its post.
"He's a living, breathing animal!" Aang continued, his voice rising with urgency. "We're not going to hurt him."
Sokka shrugged, smirking. "You sure? Komodo sausages are pretty damn tasty."
Aang opened his mouth, too horrified to respond.
"I'm with Aang on this one," Katara said firmly. "I'd rather not hurt the creature if we can avoid it. There has to be another solution."
"Maybe we could tame it?" Ty Lee offered, smiling brightly.
Mai arched a brow. "Yeah, let's tame the wild beast. Who knows, maybe it likes music."
"You really think so?!" Ty Lee gasped, clasping her hands together. "I can hum a tune right now!"
Mai sighed, giving her a flat stare.
Zuko pinched the bridge of his nose. "We're doomed."
"Actually…" Azula's eyes narrowed, a glint of inspiration flashing across her face. "…you may be onto something there. Yes… Ty, you're a genius!"
Ty Lee's face lit up. "I know!"
"Oh, come on," Zuko groaned, dragging a hand down his face. "You don't have to mock her."
"I'm not," Azula insisted. "Think about it. We probably can't bust down that metal door, but you know who can?"
The group followed her gaze to the massive Komodo rhino.
Azula smirked.
"Okay…" Katara folded her arms tightly. "But even if we free the rhino, what's to stop it from attacking us the second it's loose?"
"Oh, don't you worry about that, Sugar Queen," Toph said, cracking her knuckles. "I've got it handled"
"Maybe he'll be so grateful we freed him that he won't attack us!" Aang chimed in with a hopeful smile.
"I still don't see why we even need the rhino," Toph grumbled. "I can blast down that door, no problem."
"Really?" Sokka raised a skeptical eyebrow. "Your earth magic works on metal now?"
Toph grinned, her confidence unwavering. "No time like the present to find out!"
"Even if you could, we still need the rhino out of the way first. Trust me, freeing him is our best option."
"And that way, he won't get hurt," Aang added quickly.
"Alright, alright, let's stop wasting time," Toph said, planting her feet firmly. "I've got this."
"Wait!" Aang raised his staff, stepping in front of her. "Let me try first."
"What, you don't think I can do it?!"
"No! It's just… you don't use a staff or wand to focus your magic. Your spells are… unpredictable, and I don't want to risk the rhino getting hurt."
"Okay, fine." Toph rolled her eyes. "Let's see what you've got, Twinkle Toes."
Aang took a deep breath, steadying himself. "Frusco!"
A small whirlwind shot from Aang's staff, slicing through the air toward the chain. But instead of breaking cleanly, the spell hit the chain with a harsh clang. The rhino roared, thrashing in pain.
"Aang, something's wrong!" Katara shouted, stepping back.
"I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean to hurt him!" Aang stammered, his face paling in horror. "That was one of my weakest spells – it shouldn't have…" He froze, staring helplessly at the rhino. "I'm so sorry."
"Mai, stop, you're hurting it!" Ty Lee cried, her voice trembling.
Mai froze mid-throw, a knife poised in her hand. "And what do you expect me to do, Ty? I haven't missed a single shot!"
"The knives aren't working, and fire sorcery isn't either!" Ty Lee countered, gesturing at the thrashing rhino. "You're just making it angrier!"
"Wait…" Zuko's brow furrowed in realization. "It's almost like damage to the chain hurts the rhino too."
"The chain is enchanted!" Azula snapped, her voice cutting through the chaos. "The chain and collar strengthen when struck with physical attacks or offensive spells!"
"Of course!" Zuko said, eyes lighting up. He stepped forward, raising his staff. "Let me try something."
"Well, go on then, brother," Azula smirked. "Impress us."
"You've got this," Mai said softly.
Ty Lee held her breath, hands clasped in anticipation.
Zuko closed his eyes, focusing. "Luccio!"
A wave of soft, glowing orange fire engulfed the rhino's collar. With a faint snap, the enchanted collar fell away, disintegrating into sparks. The rhino stilled, its wounds closing as if they'd never existed. It let out a deep, rumbling cry, one of relief rather than pain.
"You did it, Zuzu!" Azula cheered.
Mai smiled and leaned over, planting a quick kiss on Zuko's cheek. "Nice work."
"Hey, you're okay, you're okay!" Ty Lee cooed, cautiously stepping closer to the beast.
The rhino lowered its massive head toward her, sniffing curiously.
"That's a good boy. Or girl. It's impossible to tell." Ty Lee pat the rhino on its head. "But you're still a good Komodo rhino, yes you are!"
"Hey, Ty," Mai said, "do you think you can get it to open the door for us?"
"Sure, I can give it a try!" Ty Lee spun toward the rhino. "Hey, buddy, do you think you can open that door?" She pointed enthusiastically at the massive metal door.
Azula groaned, placing a hand on her forehead. "Please tell me you're joking."
Unsurprisingly, the rhino just stared.
"Oh, right," Ty Lee said, giggling nervously. "You have no idea what I'm saying." Ty Lee dashed to the door, pushing against it dramatically as if struggling. Then she turned back to the rhino, beckoning it. "See? Help me out here, buddy!"
The rhino tilted its head, unimpressed.
"Try something else!" Zuko shouted.
"I'm thinking!" Ty Lee replied, tapping her chin. Then, with sudden inspiration, she dropped to all fours, pretending to charge the door herself. "Like this!" She rammed the door with her shoulder, then looked back at the rhino with wide, hopeful eyes. "Get it now?"
The rhino let out a low rumble and dipped its head slightly.
"I think he gets it!" Without hesitation, Ty Lee flipped gracefully onto the rhino's back, landing with a flourish. "Alright, big guy, let's do this." She pointed dramatically at the door. "Full steam ahead!"
The rhino snorted, then barreled forward, slamming into the metal with a deafening crash. The door crumpled like paper, flinging open with ease.
Ty Lee threw her hands into the air, letting out a triumphant cheer. "Wahoo!"
Katara raised her wand. "Spruzzio!"
A stream of shimmering water flowed gently over the rhino's neck, glowing faintly as it dissolved the enchanted clasp. The metal collar snapped open, disintegrating before it could reach the floor.
"Yes!" Sokka pumped his fist. "That's what I'm talking about! Way to go, Katara!"
Aang's shoulders slumped, his face clouded with guilt. "I should've known… I sensed mana radiating from the chain. I should've realized it was enchanted."
"It's okay, Aang." Katara stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We all missed it. Now we know to look out for enchanted items in the next challenge. And look – he's doing just fine." She gestured to the rhino, now peacefully sniffing at the ground.
Aang gave her a soft smile. "Thanks, Katara."
"Not to interrupt the warm fuzzies," Sokka cut in, "but we're on the clock here. How do we get the rhino to smash through that door?"
"I've got a better idea," Toph said with a mischievous grin, rubbing her hands together. "Just get the rhino out of my way."
The group exchanged wary glances, but eventually shrugged and backed off.
"Come here, big guy!" Aang called cheerfully, twirling his staff before fixing it upright. "Pattinaro!"
A playful sphere of swirling air appeared, bouncing and weaving through the air like a floating toy. The Komodo rhino perked up, letting out a curious grunt before lumbering after it, tail swishing.
"Alright, here we go," Toph cackled. "Now let the master work." She planted her feet, ready to channel her sorcery. "What was that spell Bumi said right before the challenge started? Oh, right…"
"Wait!" Katara shouted. "Are you sure this is the time to try an untested spell?!"
Toph waved dismissively before raising her hands. "Locamontia!"
The earth trembled under her command, and with a rumbling groan, the walls flanking the door crumbled into dust. The metal door itself remained perfectly intact, standing uselessly in the middle of an open maw where there stood a wall just moments ago.
The group stared, slack-jawed.
"And that," Toph declared, dusting off her hands, "is why I'm the best!"
Sokka blinked, then grinned. "Hey, works for me. Bumi said we had to retrieve the treasure on the other side of the door – he never said we had to open the door."
Aang chuckled. "Can't argue with that. Let's grab that treasure!"
The team scrambled into the next room, where a small, ornate treasure chest rested on a pedestal.
"Good thing I packed a lock-picking kit," Sokka said smugly, digging into his bag.
"No need." Aang lifted the lid effortlessly. "It's unlocked."
Sokka froze mid-motion. "You've got to be kidding me."
"What's inside? What's inside?" Toph asked eagerly.
Aang hesitated, pulling out the item with a faint frown. "It's… a book?"
"A book?!" Toph repeated indignantly. "What kind of treasure is that?!"
"It's untitled…" Azula said, her brow furrowing as she thumbed through the book. "…and all the pages are blank."
"Ooh, how mysterious!" Ty Lee gasped, leaning over Azula's shoulder. "Maybe it's invisible ink or something!"
"More like completely pointless," Mai retorted, crossing her arms.
Zuko rubbed his chin, frowning. "I don't know… maybe it's symbolic? What would Uncle say? 'The journey is the treasure' or something like that."
"Great." Mai rolled her eyes. "I love philosophical nonsense as much as the next person."
"Maybe it's just proof that we completed the challenge?" Zuko shrugged.
Azula closed the book. "Whatever it means, it's important. Nothing in this challenge is here by accident." She tucked the book securely into her satchel. "I have a feeling this will be more useful than it looks."
"Well done, adventurers!" Bumi congratulated the teams in the palace courtyard. "Whether your party successfully retrieved the treasure or not, you should all be very proud of yourselves for surviving the first challenge. Give yourselves a round of applause!"
Cheers and scattered applause rippled through the crowd, but Ty Lee leaned toward Azula, her voice hushed with worry. "The Fire Starters aren't here. Do you think something bad happened to them? Do you think they got… hurt?"
Azula quickly scanned the courtyard. Sure enough, the Fire Starters were nowhere to be seen. She shrugged, but a flicker of curiosity crossed her face.
"Now, I'm sure many of you have questions about the challenge, and I hope this debriefing session will help answer them," Bumi continued with a wide, mischievous grin. "But before I go over the various solutions…" He paused, drawing out the moment. "I have no doubt you're all eager to hear the results of the matchups, and who will be proceeding to the second challenge."
Tension swept through the crowd like a sudden gust of wind. Teammates instinctively huddled closer together; some held their breath.
Ty Lee grabbed Azula's hand, which caused Azula to grab Zuko's, and Zuko – after being met with a brief eye roll – grabbed Mai's.
"In the first round, the Freedom Fighters faced off against the Earthlings. Both teams successfully recovered the treasure. But which team finished first?"
"Please say the Earthlings, please say the Earthlings," Sokka muttered under his breath.
Bumi's dramatic pause stretched on. "…The Freedom Fighters!"
Sokka groaned. "Damn it."
Jet, Smellerbee, Longshot, and Pipsqueak exchanged victorious grins and celebratory high-fives. Meanwhile, Haru, Teo, Jin, and Song of the Earthlings approached them with grace, congratulating their rivals with warm handshakes.
"Aw, I'm gonna miss them," Ty Lee pouted. "They were so nice." Then her face brightened. "But at least Jet the hottie is still here!"
Mai snorted. The twins exchanged judgmental glances.
Bumi's voice rang out again. "In the second round between the Kyoshi Warriors and the Fire Starters… only one team completed the challenge." He grinned. "And that team is… the Kyoshi Warriors! And it looks like the Fire Starters decided to go home early, hm."
The Kyoshi Warriors erupted in celebration, hugging each other tightly.
"No surprise there," Sokka said with a smirk.
Katara elbowed him playfully. "Are you going to provide commentary for every outcome?"
"Yes. Yes, I am."
Toph sneered. "Who do you want to win the next round, Snoozles? Since you seem to have an eye for the princesses…"
"I do not!" Sokka shot back, his voice cracking slightly. He crossed his arms. "And I don't know."
Truthfully, as much as Sokka had grown fond of Princess Yue during their brief time together, and as much as he would love to see Princess Azula eat some humble pie, something gnawed at him about the idea of Princess Azula being sent home.
"In the third round, the Lunar Knights versus the Twin Flames…" Bumi's grin widened. "This was the closest match yet. Both teams retrieved the treasure, but the team with the faster time was…"
Azula, Zuko, Mai, and Ty Lee squeezed their joined hands tighter.
"…the Twin Flames!"
A victorious cheer rang out. Azula let out an exhilarated laugh, jumping onto Zuko's back. Mai, abandoning her usual stoicism, hugged Zuko tightly from the front. Ty Lee, unable to contain herself, attempted to join by leaping onto Azula's back, only for the entire group to collapse in a heap on the ground. They burst into laughter.
A flash of shock passed over Yue's face before she composed herself, smoothing out her robes. Then, ever graceful, she and her teammates walked over to offer their congratulations.
Yue smiled warmly as she shook each of their hands. "Congratulations. It was a well-earned victory."
Azula nodded respectfully. "You were formidable opponents."
"We're sorry to see you go," Zuko added.
"We're sorry to be leaving," Yue admitted, a soft sadness in her eyes. "But I really meant what I said – I hope we can all meet again after the tournament."
"Let's plan on it," Zuko said with a smile.
As Yue turned to walk away, Sokka found himself staring at her with a sympathetic look, unsure of what he thought in the moment. But before he could overthink it, she stepped toward him and pulled him into a gentle hug.
"Ooooh," Ty Lee whispered, leaning closer to Azula. "When did those two start hanging out?"
"Who cares," Azula muttered quickly, folding her arms.
"And last but not least," Bumi carried on over the noise, "in the fourth round of the Party Boys versus Team Sage, the only team to successfully collect the treasure was… Team Sage! Let's hear it for all our winning teams!"
The remaining competitors exchanged congratulatory handshakes and high-fives, while the Party Boys, ever the good sports, tipped their helmets and flashed grins at their opponents before making their exit.
Bumi raised his hands, quieting the crowd. "Now, I imagine you're all curious as to how the challenge was intended to be solved." He waggled his bushy eyebrows. "Most of you figured out that defeated the Komodo rhino would have made things harder. And some of you, quite cleverly, realized the rhino could be used to open the door – but the chains binding it were enchanted. Dark magic and brute force only strengthened the chains, while light magic was the key to breaking the chains."
He gestured toward the Kyoshi Warriors. "One particularly sharp team realized they didn't need a cleric at all. The Kyoshi Warriors were the only team to use healing potions on the chains. Well done."
The warriors exchanged proud smiles.
"But," Bumi continued, "the award for the most creative solution – bragging rights only, no actual prize – goes to the Freedom Fighters for completely bypassing the rhino and finding a trapdoor that led straight into the treasure room."
Azula blinked. "I may have underestimated that team."
Jet and the other Freedom Fighters smirked.
Sokka groaned.
"Wow," Katara sighed, gazing at Jet. "Beauty and brains."
"Double ugh!" Sokka muttered.
Toph and Aang snickered.
Bumi grinned. "Now, before we get into all the nitty-gritty details of the second challenge, I have an announcement." He let the moment build. "For the four remaining teams, I encourage you to rest and recover tomorrow, because the following night… I will be throwing a soiree!"
Ty Lee perked up. "A soiree?!"
"That's right! So go find a partner and grab your dancing shoes! It's going to be a hoot!"
Aang's stomach flipped. "Partner?!" He turned to Katara, only to find her still staring dreamily at Jet.
"She's gone, Twinkle Toes," Toph whispered, shaking her head. "Lost in those deep green eyes of his."
Aang frowned. "Jet doesn't have…" He turned to Toph, who stared back at him with a wide grin. "…right. You have no idea what green is."
"Not even a little!"
