February 10th 2015, Harry's Bastion

Harry, Natasha, Wanda, and Pietro walked through a portal into the kitchen laughing as Teddy hung off Pietro's neck. They all had painted faces and were wearing jerseys, each carrying some sort of flag or memorabilia.

"Did you two have a good time?" Harry asked as they all sat at the island in the kitchen. He had just taken them to a football game in France. Teddy had never been and Pietro is a huge fan of the sport. Wanda is less enthusiastic, but every time they go she gets pulled into the crowd's vibe and has a great time.

"It was awesome!" Pietro said before diving into play by plays of the football game, Teddy parroting Pietro's excitement. Wanda was teasing Teddy as he tried to copy Pietro's actions. Harry and Nat watched the three kids with a smile as they wound down from the match. Harry eventually got up and opened the icebox and pulled out a cake.

"Are you guys ready for some cake?" Harry asked as he put the large chocolate cake in the middle of the island. Wanda had to quickly float the pouncing Teddy as he dived at the cake in his wolf form. "Teddy, you know better than that." Harry said with a stern look at the floating wolf boy, who in turn gave him the best puppy eyed look he could. Rolling his eyes he waved his hands sending Teddy into a chair before it morphed into a big highchair, locking him in place.

Harry lit the candles on the cake and they sang happy birthday for the twins before blowing out the candles. Serving everyone up a slice, Harry's little family enjoyed the rest of the night before they all headed to bed.

Harry and Nat were just laying down when Harry's phone went off. Sighing he rolled to the side of the bed and grabbed it. Looking over the message he smiled before putting it down. Natasha noticed his smile.

"Who was it?" she asked.

"Steve. He wanted to let me know two of our new recruits are finally joining us for training tomorrow." Harry said as he pulled the redhead into his arms. Natasha hummed in acknowledgment. "Goodnight love."

"Goodnight Harry."

February 11th 2015, Avengers Tower, Training Room

Harry and Natasha walked into the room with their gear on ready for actual battle training only to stop when they saw an unknown man standing near Steve and Bucky. Harry saw Tony to the side with Rhodey, messing around on his phone and approached them.

"Rhodey, good to see you." Harry said as he smacked the man's back as he came up behind him.

"Harry, Natasha, good to see you two." Rhodey said, greeting them both, "What's the plan today?"

"First we wait for the rest of the team." Harry said as he looked around the room and noticed a distinct lack of archer and god. "Then we'll make introductions and jump right into it." Harry said as he eyed the unknown younger man again.

"That's Sam Wilson, Pararescueman for the USAF and recruited by Captain Spangles. He flew a prototype wing suit developed by the military during his tours and Steve vouches for him." Tony said, not even looking up from his phone. Harry and Rhodey both rolled their eyes before making eye contact and laughing. Natasha smirked as Tony looked up and gave them both a strange look.

"I am here!" Thor's voice boomed out as he stepped through the doors to the training room. A boo could be heard from the ceiling causing everyone to look up and see the team archer perched in the rafters. Harry just snorted at Clint's ridiculous need to be in high places. Seeing as everyone was now here he walked to the middle of the room.

"Alright team, today we're putting our new recruits through the ringer. So gather around and I'll set up the training room." Harry said as he gave a look at the hawk in his nest. Clint jumped down before slowing his fall and landing lightly. Steve walked up with Bucky and Sam at his back.

"Everyone, you know Bucky?" Everyone gave him a quick greeting, "This is Sam Wilson, ex-military and someone I think has the chops to join us." Sam greeted everyone with a nod as he carried a large metal backpack.

"What scenario are we doing today?" Bruce asked as he moved in from the back of the group.

"Invasion of New York." Harry said as he moved out of the room back into the hallway. Once everyone was through he placed his hand on the door and concentrated for a moment before dropping his hand. "Steve is leading this training. I'll be on standby for extraction and backup. Remember, this may not be real, but you can definitely be hurt." Once he finished he pushed open the door and a cacophony of noise drowned the hallway as the original team immediately put on their game faces and raced through the opening. Harry watched as surprise flicked onto the faces of Rhodey and Sam. Bucky was still relatively stone faced, but the clenching fists at his side was telling of his true feelings.

"You three waiting for an invitation? Citizens are dying right now." Harry said sternly as his cowl moved up his face and his hair changed to the standard white of 'Summoner'. When they hadn't moved yet Harry let loose a bellow, "MOVE!" This kickstarted all three into action as they blitzed through the doorway. Harry smirked as he gently floated through closing the door as he did.

He stayed in the air, keeping an eye on everyone, but mainly the three newbies. Bucky and Rhodey adapted well, both having been on the battlefield more recently. Sam on the other hand took a moment to gain his momentum. Harry watched as the realistic simulation, brought about by the overpowered Room of Requirement enchantment, replicated the battle fairly well. Some were different as the enchantments adapted the scenario to the actions of the team, but the bodies and destruction were real enough to give Rhodey and Sam pause.

Cap's voice was constantly giving orders, Hawkeye was making callouts, Hulk and Thor were taking out the Leviathans, while Tony, Nat, and Cap, thinned the herd and protected civilians. Sam and Rhodey were a little stiff in execution and got distracted by the destruction from time to time. Bucky on the other hand was a little too mechanical. He did everything he was ordered to, but he had no real agency in the battle. Harry shook his head at the three new recruits. Of course his team wasn't the well oiled machine it was now three years ago, but Bucky had been training with them a few times and should be a little looser.

By the end of the scenario Harry only had to save Sam, and it was only once, when a leviathan clipped him sending him spiraling towards the ground. The scenario quieted down as the aliens slowly disappeared leaving them standing in a war torn New York. The main members looked tired, but they had little damage and could continue, whereas both Sam and Rhodey looked exhausted. Bucky had some singes on his uniform and scrapes on his face, but looked otherwise unbothered. Harry didn't know if it was his training or if he really had the energy to continue.

"How do you feel?" Harry asked as he eyed the new prospective members.

"Tired, disappointed, and exhilarated all at the same time." Rhodey said as he eyed the spot to the side where a woman and her child had lain dead not but a few moments ago. Tony came up and patted the shoulder of the War Machine armor.

"Don't take it too hard. Just be glad it was a simulation." Tony said as he too eyed the area of the dead. "The real thing was much worse." Tony's eyes went a little vacant as he said that.

"That was hell." Sam said as he tiredly sat on a pile of rubble. His wings were damaged and his suit was ripped in several places.

"That was war. Not hell." Harry said from the front of the group. "You all did surprisingly well. Sam and Rhodey both need a bit more time to be in sync with the team and Bucky needs to loosen up a bit." Harry turned his eyes to the former assassin, "You don't need an order to do everything. Remember that." Harry said as Steve stood beside his friend and gave his shoulder a squeeze.

"How is this not Hell?" Sam said quietly as he sucked in breaths of air. He didn't think anyone heard him but when he looked up the original team were all looking at him in pity. Rhodey seemed confused while Bucky was still giving a bland look.

"Alright team. Let's show the newbies hell mode." Harry said as he walked towards the wall nearest to him where a door magically appeared. They all piled back into the hallway as Harry once again laid his hand on the door for a few moments. "This isn't something you'll see outside of the training. At least not on this plane." Harry said to Rhodey and Sam. When the room was configured Harry pushed open the door again.

Sam and Rhodey were expecting another battle area with screams and explosions, but instead what greeted them was darkness and silence. Looking back he saw the dread mixed with determination on a few faces as they all moved through the door. Even Clint and Tony, the perpetually quippy members were stone faced in front of this scenario. Once everyone was through the door closed and silence blanketed everyone. Looking around all Sam could see was desolate wasteland. Not an ounce of greenery or life anywhere.

"Where are we?" Rhodey asked.

"My home." Harry said as he walked forward up a nearby hill. Following him they crested the hill only to stop and stare at the destruction before them. Off in the distance a city, indistinguishable in its destruction, lay in waste. At first they didn't notice anything, but slowly Sam, Rhodey, and Bucky realized the shadows were moving. Slowly the world around them awoke, but it wasn't anything pleasant. Monstrous creatures with too many eyes, limbs, or teeth skittered around. A giant shadow in the distance slowly moved as a colossal creature, several stories high lumbered, each step taking a full minute.

"What are those?" Sam asked quietly.

"Demons and monsters born of corruption." Harry said as he looked over the wastes of London. This was a final stop for him before he started the ritual to go back in time. "This is what the majority of my world looked like. The only exceptions being the sites of nuclear fallout."

"Your world? Are you an alien?" Rhodey asked as he continued staring at the destruction.

"No. I'm from a parallel universe. This is Earth and that," Harry said pointing at the destroyed city, "is London." Sam and Rhodey gasped in horror.

"How could this happen?" Sam asked, ignoring the 'other universe' statement.

"A madman with too much power and a lack of empathy towards anything or anyone." Harry said solemnly. "Ready to fight?" Harry asked with a gleam in his eye as he stared at the wave of demons slowly making their way towards them.

"What?!" Sam and Rhodey asked simultaneously.

With a roar Harry shot off towards the army, his team not moving in the least. They stood there and watched as the wizard of the Avengers tore through the demonic army like a hot knife through butter. Spell fire, elements, constructs, and other destructive abilities rang out through the silence. Wails sounded out like the souls of the underworld crawling their way into the land of the living. Sam and Rhodey stood there unsure of what to do.

"Don't worry about it. Let him let loose for a minute then we'll leave." Natasha said as she watched Harry battle.

"Every time he comes here he vents a little of his frustration. He'll calm down soon enough." Tony said as he too watched one of his best friends expel his emotions.

"That's new." Clint commented as a wave of red energy blasted from Harry. Giant dragons of Fire, Earth, and Wind blew through the army of demons. Several demons close to Harry turned into scattering ash. Lava erupted from the ground as Harry let loose with the reality stone, bending the environment to his will. Harry was soon drowned in dirt and stone before a behemoth rose up and stomped onto the scattering demons. Soon enough Harry was the last one standing as he huffed in the middle of the now silent wasteland.

Slowly he walked up to the group but didn't say anything as the door reappeared. Harry walked through followed by his team. When they reentered the hall a portal was already formed. Nat and Tony both nodded to everyone else as they followed Harry through and moments later it dissipated.

"What was that?" Sam asked no one in particular. Steve used the dial next to the door to remake the regular training room.

"Harry is a good man burdened by the weight of a world he couldn't save." Clint said as he stepped back into the reconfigured room. His face was much more serious than it usually was during his time with the team. "Our prowess and training is supplemented by his experience and refusal to let another home of his be destroyed." He said as he sat at a small rest area in the training room.

"We've used that scenario to train before." Steve said. "Harry felt it prudent, with demons being a likely foe, that we learn how to fight them. It never gets any easier on him to make that scenario though."

"Friend Harry is a formidable warrior whose power continues to grow." Thor said with some emotion. "Horrors of legend, even in my world, make their appearance there. It is heartening that he is still a good man and even better person to have at your back in battle." Silence dominated the group for a few moments. Sam and Rhodey both feel slightly out of their depth in the revelations of the day.

"Well, now that we know where your weaknesses lie, we can work on them." Steve said as he stood, trying to dispel the somber mood. "Sam, we'll send your wingsuit over to Tony to get you upgraded. Rhodey, I'm sure Tony has something already working for you. With you joining us in training and sparring you'll need something that won't be affected by Harry's magic. Let's review the battle first."

Harry had just sat at his bar when Natasha and Tony both sat next to him. None of them said anything and joined him in having a quiet drink. After their first drink Harry finally looked away from his glass.

"Sorry about that." Harry said quietly.

"Not to worry buddy. We all have our demons." Tony said with a slight smile. Harry and Natasha both rolled their eyes but chuckled regardless.

"What do you two think of the new recruits?" Harry asked.

"Rhodey and Bucky will do fine. War Machine is competent armor and with a few upgrades should be able to work alongside us easily. Bucky needs a little more adjustment to being himself and he'll fall in with Cap." Tony said as he poured another drink. "Sam is…green. He was a little cocky, weren't we all, and wasn't as accustomed to the battlefield as I was expecting." Tony said, taking a sip of his drink.

"With some training I'm sure they'll be fine." Natasha said as she lightly leaned on Harry. "We know they have the chops or they wouldn't have made it as far as they did. The most difficult thing I think we'll run into is the time it'll take for them to mesh into the team."

"I agree. Adjustments take time. I just hope we have enough of it." Harry said as he stared at his hand covered in red energy. Natasha and Tony both frowned as they thought of the future dangers Harry warned them about.

AN: Reviews -

qwertyuiop123214685 - The only work done with Extremis was to use the heat generation to cure Teddy of his Ice Poison. Pepper was never injected as Killain was captured before he could. It is possible that it could heal Natasha, but based on my research Extremis is incredibly dangerous and eah modification lowered it's healing ability or caused massive sideeffects. The version used on Teddy couldn't even be called extremis anymore, as they basicall created a temporary heating serum.

Monkey D. Conan - While a nonmagical cure is possible, the tech available doesn't support a wholesale heal of her womb. Cloning is not something I want to touch with a ten foot pole either. Ugh Sinister is just the worst. Last thing I need is the complications of Madelyn Pryor and the mutant clones.
