"All is well in the magical world of Chima, after and intense battle against the Scorpion King Scorn, our young heroes have succeeded in sealing the Crawlers bellow ground. They then brough fort the Legend Beasts, who through sacrifice, managed to bring new life to Cavora's falls. Now we celebrate their victory, and a newfound friendship amongst all the animal tribes. Including our new Serpentine quest, how after having been enemies for so long, now stand beside us as friends and allies. These are the legends of Chima!" Lagravis announced, addressing the gathered masses bellow.

Cheers erupt along the courtyards, as the tribes celebrate their victory against the odds, with Laval and his friends standing front and center before them. All of them sporting a deferent expression, ranging from flattery to embarrassment, to even showboating and pride.

"Yes, this is indeed a time for celebration, but it is also a time of rebuilding. Now that the lands are finally free of conflict, it is up to us to insure they remain that way, by living in harmony with both nature and us!" the old lion spoke again, ensuring that his message was heard by the masses.

"So, tonight we celebrate as one! Let the bonds of friendship be forge in the fires of their sacrifice!" he finished dramatically, causing a wave of cheers to surge forwards, as the celebration finally begone.

Musicians from several tribes playing side by side, as they all intermingle in dance. Even the Serpentine joined the fun, performing party tricks for the gathered children. All seemed to be heading to a great start, as in the first time in awhile the tribes of Chima laugh together as friends.

"This is one heck of a party Laval!" Cracker commented, watching happily as his friends goofed around the courtyard. "Yeah, it sure is old friend!" Laval replied with a smile, glad to finally see everyone standing together as friends. Old rivalries disappearing as the music took hold, even the wolves were partying it up!

"Yeah, it's certainly a grand celebration. I just hope it's not premature!" Eris voice told the, the eagle walking in between her old friends.

"Eris! Don't sneak up on a guy!" Cragger complained at her, having nearly jumped in surprise. "Yeah, and what do you mean, premature?" Laval added, not enjoyed the sudden downed mood. "I don't know, it just seems that as soon as we solve one crisis, another on pops up out of nowhere!" she replied, clearly exasperated by the hectic changes in her life.

"Yeah, it does seem like that." Laval thought, solemnly for a moment, "But I'm sure this is the last of it! I mean look, everyone is getting along, they're no more bad guys left around, and we just completed an antient prophesy!" Laval told her eagerly, referring to the beast's sacrifice, and the events of the cave respectively.

"Yeah, things are different now! But I think the worse is finally behind us!" Cragger said, looking at his parents laughing together. He knew things were bound to change, that things could never go back to the way they where before, but for now he would enjoy every moment he could get.

"Yeah, you guys are right! I'm just worrying over nothing!" Eris said, not wanting to bring her friends any more grief. "Still, why do I feel like we're forgetting something!" she thought to herself, before deciding to leave well enough alone and enjoy the party.

Meanwhile, deep bellow the earth, a lone figure slither through the darkness. Alone with only a small orb to light his way, his scaly skin shivering from an unseen cold. Warm fog escaping his mouth with each breath as his serpentine form wandered through the twist and turns of the cavern.

"Those ingrates...just...wait until...I... get out of...here! WHY IS THIS INFERNAL CAVERN SO COLD!" cried the figure, the orb in his hands reacting to his outburst and shining the surrounded area, revealing his purple scales and red eyes.

"All I have too do is find a wall to climb and then THIS little beaty will be my ticket out of here!" Pythor said to himself, eying the chi orb with a predatory gaze. "Then I will sneak into the temple, steal all the chi, and bring all of Chima to its knees!" he continued to monologue, his mad laughter echoing through the cave.

So distracted was he to his plots, that he fails to notice he had reached the end of the road. A deep gorge laid before him, the cavern far deeper than he had thought, and without so much as a warning he plunged into the unknown. The sound off his screams replacing the silence of the abyss, till they were replaced by a loud splash.

Back on Chima, night had changed to day, as the sight of partying replaced with a return of the mundane. Lion guards hard at work cleaning the remains of the previous night's celebrations, as the sounds of delegation echoed through out the temple's halls.

Inside the Lion Temple throne room, Lagravis and the elders gathers, discussing the work yet to come. "Gentlemen, I know we have much to discuses, but please, we must remain calm!" the greying lion said, a hand on the bridge of his nose, holding back the headache threatening to form. Now that the celebrations were finished, the real work had begun, and none of the gathered could decide were to begin.

"The repairs of the Spires should still be our main concern! The damage sustained during the Dark Cloud's attack is still present and of outmost concern!" Ewald said, the eagle leader adamant in the importance of restoring his tribe back to their former heights.

"Now, now, old friend, while I agree that the reconstruction of your homes is important, we already have people working on resolving it. Perhaps we should instead focus on other issues." Lagravis stated calmly, as to not rail up any arguments. "Indeed, my Constructai are nearly finished with the repairs. It is only a matter of days till they are finished." Skalidor informed them, proudly confident in his tribe's skills.

"I suppose that is true." Ewald said, relenting his stand to the others. "Great, now that that is taken care of, perhaps we should talk about our "snake problem"." Rawzom added, the old raven gesturing towards the gathered serpents.

"Excuse you!" Skales spoke up indignantly, tightening the grip on his staff. "The snakes help save my tribe, I sugess you speak carefully raven!" Crominus added threateningly, coming to the Serpentine's defence.

"Ah, you misunderstand my friends. I'm more than happy for the added clientele, but the real-estate situation is becoming bothersome." Rawzom cleared up, referring to the fact the serpentine had been bunking with the several tribes. "My costumers are becoming unnerve being so close to our would-be conquerors. Plus, rumours of further conquest have started to spread. This is not good for business." The old raven said, begrudgingly bringing some good points.

"While our guess living situations aren't ideal, we owe them that much!" Lagravis points out, recalling how much the Serpentine had helped during the Dark Tribes crisis. "While I appreciate you sticking out for use, the raven brings up a good point." Arcturus jumped in, surprising the rest of the council.

"Our peoples cannot continue living this way, now that the dark tribes had been dealt with, we must begin discussing returning to our old home!" Arcturus said, adamant in his views. "You speak of a full exodus back to the Outlands; such things cannot be put so lightly." Acidicus stepped in, cautioning his peers to thing things through. "Even if the crawlers are sealed in, the threat of them escaping is still a serious issue." Skales added, giving his opinion on the mater.

"Which is why we must discuss this together, our home sits abandoned and ready for reclaiming, we must simply find a way to get to it safely." Arcturus says, once again driving the attention to himself. So enthralled were the others on him, that they failed to notice the small shape making his way over to Skales.

"Father, father." The small shape whispered as he nudged the larger snake's arm. "Junior! What are you doing here?" Skales whispered shout, looking down to his young son. "I'm bored! Can I stay her with you?" Skales Jr. Asked, looking up at him with big wide eyes.

"Sorry son. Daddy is busy caring for the future of our tribe. Why don't you go hang out with your friends?" Skales suggested, trying to get his son to leave for the moment. "I don't have any?" Junior said matter-of-factly, reveling in his perceived victory. "Then this is the ideal time to make some, now please go!" Skales told him firmly, he loved his child, but he was simply too busy to play with him right now, plus it would do him well to socialize.

Giving in, Skales Jr. left the room hesitantly, look back dejectedly. Skales ignored his son's gaze, all too familiar with this tactic. Junior sighted indignantly, before carrying on in his way.

Running through the halls and the stairs of the Temple, Junior made his way towards the courtyard. It was market day, the stall already beginning to attract the crowds, as the tribes gathered in the area. If he had to make a friend somewhere, what better place than this!

The races had been cancelled until the pool could restored itself, but the tribes still decided to gather in the spirit of unity. The Serpentine in particular taking the opportunity to share their culture with the rest of Chima. All around members of the various tribes mingled, showing off tricks and selling their wares.

There, amongst the stalls, Junior came across a familiar face. It was Mezmo's younger sister Chan, a Hypnobrai of the soldier caste with a strong resemblance to her brother, apart from silver markings instead of white. She often acted as his de-facto babysitter whenever his mother was unavailable, who best to start his friend making than her!

"Hey, Chan!" he said, running to the familiar figure, who looked in his direction in surprise. "Junior? What are you doing here?" she asked, just as the young Hypnobrai crashed on to her in a hug.

She couldn't help but be endeared, Junior could be a brat, but he was still a good kid. Gently petting his hood, the older Hypnobrai took a knee to speak face to face. "Good to see you too buddy! So, did you escape your mum again!" she said jokingly, before rising and looking back towards the stall.

"No, Dad told me to go make some friends, so I came to find you!" he said eagerly, offering her and eager smile. "Ah, I'm flattered. But I can't hang out right now, I'm busy!" she told him, much to his disappointment, as her attention returned to the task at hand.

She was sorting through a stall of different fabrics, touching them to test their feel. She was a bit of a tailor, often spending her time making different garments as a hobby. Even her own appearance was a testament to this, wearing a home-made white crop top and an ice-blue knee length skirt in the style of their distant ancestors.

"I'm planning in setting my own stall for the market, figured It was about time I gave this place some class, and make a quick buck!" she told the kid cheekily, giving him a grin, one that he happily returned. He loved Chan's clothes, they were always so comfortable and well made, she even promised to make him a jacket one day!

"Alright! I'll find someone else!" Juniors said determined, as he ran off into the crowd. Afterall, he was fierce serpentine warriors, just like his dad, how hard could making some friends be!

Meanwhile, in the dark depths of the gorge, Pythor was finally coming to. Rising from the ground, the first thing he noticed what that he was standing on a pool of strange liquid.

"Augh! What is this stuff! It burns my eyes! And that smell!" he complained, coughing as the strange green liquid reached inside his mouth. It's acidic aroma tinkling in his synaxes as he struggled to get out of the pool.

Fortunately, it wasn't very deep, a stone ledge sitting just in front of him, with the chi orb resting neatly on the floor. "Well, at least I still have this!" he said with irritation, crouching down to lift the glowing orb, only to come face-to-face with a gapping maw!

Startled, Pythor fell back only to notice it was not a creature he was faced with, but a stone bust. One in the familiar visage of a frilled serpent, one he knew well, it was the face of the Devourer.

"What is...?" he pondered aloud, as he shone the orb closer to the stone structure in front of him. The light revealing a stone mural, detailing an ancient and forgotten history, one that involved snakes!

"Impossible." was all he could say, as he continued inspecting the structure even closer. It detailed the story of two races, one of ground and another of sky, a serpent and an avian, a war that threatened to consume the land, and the defeat of one.

Pythor couldn't believe what he was seeing, the tale weaved by the mural contradicting all he had know as fact. It spoke of a history that could not be, of an origin that challenged the very core of their beliefs. It showed an antient race of snake men, being banished to another realm!

"We came...from Chima!" he finally spat out; the revelation difficult to comprehend. It had to be false, a misunderstanding, yet the facts were laid in stone. The antient symbol of the Serpentine, emblazoned clearly upon the stone wall. This was the realm of their creation, their birthplace, the origin of their race.

Back on the courtyard, Junior continues his quest to find a new friend. Running through the busy streets, he nearly bumped into a Fangpyre girl helping a raven with his merchandise, biting them to change them from useless junk into "one of a kind" collectibles.

"Woah, hold it wise guy! Where's the fire!" she cried out indignantly, before getting a closer look at him. "Wait, your Skales kid, aren't you?!" she said amused, "Where are YOU going in such a hurry?" she asked, brushing the dust away while looking his way.

Junior looked back at the odd girl, she looked to belong to the soldier caste, but she lacked the distinctive black markings and had jasper orange eyes. She was also wearing an odd black crop top jacket over a ginger shirt along with several trinkets of raven origin.

She was clearly well known in the Raven Town, and judging by the skill of her venom, for good reason too. "How wants to know!" Junior practically demanded, the young heir of the Hypnobrai not one to back down.

"Well, a tough guy hah? I like that!" she said amusingly, crossing her arms with respect. "The name's Silvia, best venom-smith in the tribe!" she said proudly, flashing her fangs to show a point.

"Huh? I thought Fang-Suei had the strongest venom in the Fangpyre?" he asked, half-mocking, half-curious. "My cousin might have potency, but he lacks finesse! I am an artist!" she said indignantly, biting another piece of metal, turning it into a beautiful metal snake statue.

"Wow!" Junior said, unknowingly outload, as he admired the sight. "Pretty impressive, I know!" Silvia said arrogantly, before turning back to the matter at hand, "So, you gonna tell me what you up to squirt?" she aske again, narrowing her eyes his way.

"Oh, just looking for someone to hang out with...I mean, looking to forge some alliances! Yes, that is what I meant!" Junior said in a hurry, trying to save face. "As future leader of the Hypnobrai, it is my duty to forge new alliances!" he said, with as much regalness as he could muster.

"Is that so? Well, I heard Arcturus's niece is hanging with some goody two-shoes over by the main plaza!" Silva told the little wannabe noble, amused and endeared by the little guy's moxie.

With that, Junior's eyes lit up, as he left running towards the plaza. "Thanksforthehelp, bye!" he said in quick succession, as he disappeared in the crowd. "You're welcome, good look little buddy!" Silvia cried out, hoping he could hear her, before turning back to her work.

Carrying on with his mission, Junior ran full speed towards his destination, while trying not to knock into anyone this time. Soon, he found himself in the plaza, looking around he could see many busy stalls and large groups of animals hanging out together.

There near the center of the plaza, a small stall of purple cloth laid neatly, a small group of people standing in front it. Running the stall was a young Anacondrai wearing a homemade sage purple kimono. She had all sorts of pastes and elixirs lining the main table, with some medicinal plants at the side.

Mei, the young Anacondrai's name, stood there with a kind smile, eagerly showing her onlookers her healing technics. Getting closer for a look, Junior stood on in surprise at the sight of her.

Much like her uncle, Mei lacked the signature red eyes of the rest of the tribe, but unlike his vibrant greens hers where a watery blue colour instead. Ones that match the small crystals she wore on a string around her neck.

"Woah Mei, that was amazing!" a familiar female voice said to his right, as an eagle walked over towards her. Junior recognized her from last nights party; Eris, princess of the eagle tribe, if he remembered right.

"Thank you, Eris. Oh, her is the book I borrowed!" Mei told her suddenly, getting a botanical book from beneath the table. "It was really helpful!" she said kindly, offering her a smile as she held it out for her.

"Oh, no problem at all. I'm just glad someone got some use out of it." Eris replied nervously, not sure how to react to the kind-hearted serpent's words. "It really came in handy helping me with my new batch!" she said, holding out a bottle, "Here, this should help you with some muscle pain!" she said excitedly, giving the liquid a little shake.

"Thanks, I'm sure it will come in handy." Eris said awkwardly, still unsure how to act in this situation. Mei was an enigma, unlike most of her tribe she focused more on healing and had been the most vocal in wanting peace with the tribes of Chima.

All in all, a fine friend to have, but Eris still had a hard time looking at her and not seeing the monsters that had taken her home from her. She knew it wasn't fair to her, but trauma is seldom logical. She would get better in time, she just had to get use to her.

Fortunately, she would have to be in this situation for much longer, as too smaller interlopers came to her unintentional aid. "Woah, can you teach me how to make that!" asked young G'Loona, climbing on her stand.

"Hee-hee, of course! Anything for my favorite little helper!" Mei responded with a smile, rubbing the young gorilla's head. "Oh, minty!" said Wonald, the little gorilla's best friend and partner in crime, as he helped himself to one of the leaves on the table.

"Careful! Those leaves back a punch!" Mei warned, moving the leaves away from the wolf pup's reach. But she wasn't fast enough, an intense chill overcoming the young pup. "Ah, brain freeze!" he cried, as he ran around in circles, much to his friend's amusement; the leaves not posing any real danger to his health.

"Hah! I told you not to eat everything you see Wonald!" G'Loona said with a laugh, chasing after her friend with delight. Mei too charring in the laughter, before a sudden cough caught her attention.

"Ahem! Mei of the Anacondrai tribe, I am Skales the second, future ruler of the Hypnobrai tribe!" the young snake introduced himself, with as much authority as he could muster, "I have come in behave of my father with the important mission of strengthening relationships between our tribes. I command that you hang out with me!" he finished, doing his best impression of a commanding tone.

Mei of course could see right through him, honestly, she found it adorable. Though it was to be expected given her family, being the grand niece of the most legendary general in history had an effect on people.

"I see? Well, while I'm flattered that you have sought me, I must humbly decline, for you see I am simple too busy today. However, I would be more than happy to hang out some other time!" she replied politely, letting him down easily.

"Oh, I see. Thank you any..." "I can hang out with you!" G'Loona said butting in with a wide smile. "Oh, it's fin..." Junior tried to say, before Wonald popped in besides him. "Yeah, we can totally hang out!" he told the young snake, also giving him a smile.

Junior didn't know how to react, he hadn't expected this, however one like at Mei's expression told him to go for it. "Yeah! Sure, we can hang out!" he told the two excitedly, following them with a smile as they left to go explore the market together!

"Have fun you, guys!" Mei yelled out to them, waving them goodbye as they disappeared into the distance, turning to Eris with a smile. Truely, this was the beginning of a new era.

Back on the caverns, Pythor continued studying the mural, following their length until finding more ruins. Exploring the crumbling structure, he was certain they were of Serpentine origin, the building style t o recognisable not to be.

Overcome with curiosity, the exiled Anacondrai followed the edgings of the walls, till he came face-to-face with a great stone door. What appears to be an ancient locking mechanism sat before him, a puzzle with jumbled images, ones that when properly assembled would open the chamber.

"Well, this seems interesting!" Pythor said, looking around for a clue, he stumbled upon a message. "Beware, ye who enter the serpent's tomb." he read dismissively, he turned to look for something to unlock the entrance.

Stumbling upon a Serpentine staff, he picked it up and proceeded to move the tiles. Once he moves the last tile, the imposing image of a massive serpent, a circular opening in its mouth.

"Curious? Could it be..." he pondered, looking at the orb of Chi in his hands. Placing the orb in the staff's mouth, he lifted it towards the indent. The room starts shaking and the tiles explode, inside a long-forgotten tomb awaits.

Old, decayed sarcophagi lined the walls, their armor all that remained from their once inhabitants. Large greyish silver eggs with reddish-orangish membranes laid scattered about the place. But those where not the focused of his attention, for something else caught his eye.

Something that didn't belong. A newer, golden sarcophagus emblazoned with fire iconography laid separate at the back of the room. "Well, aren't you a sight!" he said, slithering closer to the peculiar object, the orb on his staff glowing brighter the closer he got.

Suddenly, the sarcophagus began to glow, before opening apart in a cloud of dust. A female Serpentine, with yellow eyes and dark teal scales, wearing a tan and gold robe under a golden cuirass with snake head-shaped shoulder pads, laughs as she slithers out of her tomb.

"Free, free at last!" she cries out with a cackle, her voice echoing down the empty hollowness of the caves.

"And REVENGE shall be mine!"

Author's Notes:

And we are BACK! Thankyou all for the patience, I know it has been some time since I updated this story, but I'm back and season 3 is starting up with a bang!

Now, for those waiting for the Fire vs Ice conflict, you'll have to wait a bit. This will be a short mini arc before the release of the hunters detailing the shaky relationship the Serpentine have with the rest of Chima. In canon it is implied that some time has past between the defeat of the Crawlers and the release of the Ice Hunters, so this story will detail what happened in that time. Plus, I didn't want to just throw Pythor into the waste side just yet.

I would like to thank Abyssdancer for letting me use their characters in this story, if you would like your characters to be use in this story, please leave a comment detailing them and I will see to it that they are added. I will try to make them fit into the story and will change sertain things if necessary, so try not to go overboard with them.

Like always, thank you for reading, don't be afraid to leave any criticisms, and until next time!
