Monday Morning, The next day

A jolt of discomfort shot through Issei's body as he stepped out the front door of his home. The sunlight was shining down and for some odd reason, it was brighter than usual. He didn't quite understand why, not to mention, he felt as if he was running off of only a few hours of sleep. None of this was making any sense to him, none at all. As he began walking towards Kuoh Academy, his mind wandered back to last night, which he couldn't determine if it was a dream or not. The dream felt so real. It was like he actually felt the strange weapon piercing through his body, only to not have any signs of being attacked. This is why he was conflicted, he just didn't know if it was real or not.

Issei arrived at school and he began making his way inside. As he proceeded forward, he noticed a familiar face. Kiba. He groaned, it was too early in the morning to be forced to witness Kiba's unrivaled charm with the girls. It truly was unfair. But before Issei could think about anything else, he was met by another familiar face, one that Issei wasn't exactly thrilled to see, Leelond Oakland. The guy was a complete mystery to Issei. Like Kiba, Leelond had the attention of most of the girls at school and he didn't bother with accepting any of their advances.

"Good morning, Issei."

"Good morning?" Issei silently repeated while raising an eyebrow and looking at Leelond with a suspicious glare. He's never spoken two words to Leelond and yet, here was this pretty boy, the one with the strange glowing eyes, talking to him. "Uh… Yeah, good morning."

Leelond's expression was soft and friendly. He was in the school's uniform and it nearly mirrored Issei's uniform with the exception of an orange head band around his hair, an orange shirt underneath his uniform, and a pair of bright orange shoes. In a way, he looked like a traffic cone.

"I was thinking, do you want to go to the arcade after school today?" Leelond asked. Now this was really weird. Why was Leelond asking Issei to hang out after school? Wait… It couldn't be… Issei took a deep breath while taking a step back before asking Leelond the question that suddenly flooded his mind.

"Are you asking me out?"

Silence washed over the bottom floor of Kuoh and it reached the ears of quite a few of the female population. Issei could feel the deadly glares and looks of disdain he was getting. But to his surprise, Leelond didn't seem offended at all, if anything, Leelond was amused. He lets out a sheepish chuckle and rubs the back of his head.

"No, no, no. Nothing like that. Today is one of the few days where my schedule is clear. I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out. No worries though. I'm sorry if I made it weird."

Leelond then casually turned on his heel and headed upstairs. Issei noticed both Motohama and Matsuda were hanging out on the stairs and so Issei decided to join his fellow perverts. Once Leelond reached the top, he was met by the familiar presence of his king.

"Good morning, Leelond. How are you?" Rias asked.

Leelond gave a soft nod. "Good morning, President. I'm well, and you?"

"I'm fine, thank you. I noticed you went ahead and spoke to Issei this morning."

Leelond lets out a sheepish chuckle while rubbing the back of his head like he did a few moments ago. "Yeah. I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a new friend, considering that today is the first day back."

The two devils continued chatting when suddenly, Leelond felt an arm around his shoulder and a whisper in his ear. It caused him to jump and nearly head over the railing. When he turned his head, Akeno Himejima was the culprit.

"Akeno! What are you doing!? You nearly gave me a heart attack!" Leelond exclaimed, taking a deep breath. Akeno had an uncanny ability to sneak up and scare the soul out of him. Her response was just a giggle, clearly amused by her friend's reaction.

"My, my, my. Is Leelond scared of little old me?"

Rias chuckled before stepping in. "Alright, alright, calm down Akeno. We don't need Leelond going into cardiac arrest on his first day back."

While nobody noticed, aside from the devils that went to the school, Leelond was away for a while. Even though he was a member of Rias' peerage, he also had duties in the underworld. It was like he had a free travel pass to come and go as he pleased without being forced to remain stagnant. Of course, Leelond preferred to remain with Rias and the peerage. They were his family and his best friends, but when it came time for his devil duties, Leelond never argued.

"Anyway, I spoke to Issei and asked him if he wanted to go to the arcade after school."

Before Rias could respond or Leelond could continue, Akeno chimed in. Her eyes had a mischievous glint in them, one that Leelond knew all too well. "Is that so? I didn't believe the rumor at first. But it seems you really are batting for the other team."

Leelond's face turned a shade of red that could rival his Sharingan. "Akeno! That's not funny! No! No! No! I'm not gay! I was just keeping an eye on him!" Leelond shouted, earning the group a few curious glances. Akeno giggles while Rias lets out an exasperated sigh.

"Okay, let's calm down."

"I'm just kidding, Lee Lee. But you have to admit, your reactions are quite cute."

Leelond rolled his eyes, obviously not amused by Akeno's morning antics. Rias then told Leelond that it was probably a good idea to keep an eye on Issei. It wouldn't be the strangest thing to see a fallen angel target him again, especially since he's one of them. But unlike before, if he's killed by a fallen angel, it'll officially be game over. She tells Leelond that until further notice, he'll be trailing Issei and she went ahead and already had his schedule adjusted and everyone's mind altered so they believe he's always had the same classes as Issei. Leelond nods and then coolly puts his hands in his pockets before walking off from the girls.

Leelond arrived in the classroom and was greeted by Mrs. Yuki, an old woman who has been teaching math for what Leelond exaggerated to 100 million years. He gives her a friendly wave and takes a seat next to Issei. Issei raised an eyebrow. Why was Leelond here? Now that he thought about it, he hasn't seen Leelond in weeks and certainly doesn't remember having any classes with him.

"Uh, what are you doing here?" Issei asked.

"Huh? What do you mean? I've always had Mrs. Yuki's math class?" Leelond said. Issei was clearly not believing him and so Leelond had to manually alter Issei's memory. With a quick glance, Leelond was able to enter Issei's mind. For a moment, Leelond was beginning to feel a sense of deja vu, seeing all the perverted thoughts and obsession with tits. It was like Leelond was in the mind of his late Godfather. He shakes his head and quickly gets to work. Issei would suddenly remember that Leelond has always shared classes with him and hasn't missed any school. Since devils were naturally resistant to magic of a lower level, it was easier to ensure that humans forgot any memories of seeing proof of the supernatural. But whenever a devil's magic wasn't enough, Leelond could use his Sharingan to pick up the slack.

Issei blinked once and then twice before shaking his head. "Anyway, what game do you have in mind at the arcade?"

Sona, who sat on the other side of Leelond, narrowed her eyes. Leelond could feel her stern gaze and shot her a knowing grin. Sona felt the magic of Leelond's Sharingan enter the mind of Issei and she shook her head with a disapproving glare. Leelond just waved her off. Like Rias, Sona was a childhood friend of his and so he never got intimidated by her. Besides, Leelond didn't believe he did anything wrong, per say. He simply entered Issei's mind and made the proper adjustments while also changing some of the memories from this morning. Issei agreed to hang out at the arcade.

"Nothing in particular. It just feels like it's been forever since I last went to the arcade. Besides, you might even meet a cute girl."

Issei frowned. He remembered earlier where he spoke to Matsuda and Motohama. They had no idea who Yuma was and refused to believe that he even had a girlfriend. But that wasn't the frustrating part, no. When he tried to show them proof, not only was Yuma's contact information gone, but every photo that he remembered Yuma was in, was altered. It was either just a photo of Issei or a photo of the background. To say it was weird would be an understatement. How did the photos get altered in such a way and how did nobody remember who Yuma was? He swallowed and then glanced back at Leelond.

"Hey, uh, do you remember Yuma?" Issei asked, hoping to God that Leelond remembered her. But before Leelond could respond, Issei felt a jolt of pain in his head, like all the pressure that came from a headache was turned into a single jolt. That was weird, very weird. Leelond, on the other hand, looked at Issei with a confused expression. Yes, he knew who Yuma was and he knew that Yuma wasn't even her name. The fallen angel's real name was Raynare. However, Leelond decided to wait until Rias was ready. Leelond just shakes his head.

"I'm not sure. What's her last name?"

"Yuma Amano."

Leelond pretended to think, his eyes looking upwards as if he were looking into his brain. He then shook his head. "Nope. To tell you the truth, I don't think I've ever met a Yuma." It wasn't entirely a lie. Since Raynare's name wasn't actually Yuma, he was technically telling the truth.

Issei's head lowered and his demeanor was deflated. It seemed that God was really out to get him for whatever reason, like he was some kind of devil or something. Leelond casually patted Issei on the back and told him to just take it easy, he'll feel better once they hit the arcade. The rest of the school day went without any chaos, aside from the usual high school drama. When the school day came to an end, Leelond and Issei were walking towards the Kuoh arcade.

"Hey, Leelond? Can I ask you something?" Issei asked while glancing over at his friend. Leelond raised an eyebrow, giving the nonverbal command to go ahead. "I'm not sure what it is, but it feels like I've known you for a long time. Yet, I think today is the first time we've spoken."

"Huh? What do you mean? We used to hang out a good bit," Leelond said. He was mentally cursing himself. The Genjutsu he used on Issei must not have been strong enough if Issei was questioning his own memories.

Issei just shrugs, deciding to shake the strange feeling off. They were at the arcade and he decided that maybe Leelond had a point. A few hours at the arcade should help him feel better and so that's what they did.

After a few hours at the arcade, Leelond and Issei were casually heading home. To his surprise, Leelond lived a few blocks from Issei, which was weird because he didn't ever see Leelond in the area. Leelond was quick to think of a response that was believable. He explains that he goes to the gym early in the morning and sometimes he stays after school. It wasn't a complete lie. He did go to the gym, sure, it was his usual spot that he meditated on while sending his crow to track a certain target down, and he did stay after school inside the Orc room. But Issei didn't need to know the details, not yet. While they were walking, Issei couldn't help but feel a strange sensation. He could hear conversations from a distance that should be impossible for him to hear. He noticed that even his eyesight improved, giving him clear and perfect vision like it was during the day.

When they approached the Kuoh water fountain, Issei's mind went back to last night. He could remember his dream perfectly, recalling each and every detail. There was no way it was just a dream, it was too real. Something was going on, something strange. Yuma was erased from everyone's memory and every bit of proof that proved her existence was gone. Then there was Leelond. He couldn't put his finger on it, but something felt off. He and Leelond never spoke before today and yet, he has all these memories of them hanging out and being good friends. But his thoughts were cut off by the arrival of a man wearing a trench coat and a fedora. There was something about this man that caused Issei's brain to scream that he needed to escape. Yet, Leelond remained calm and maybe even indifferent.

"Well, what do we have here? I didn't think I'd run into your type tonight," the man said. Leelond tilted his head and looked at the man. Through his Sharingan eyes, he could see the man's purple aura, which told him that he was looking at a fallen angel.

"Ditto. Now, why don't you go on your way? We don't want any trouble, do we?" Leelond asked.

The man then narrowed his eyes as he took in Leelond's form. The orange that covered the boy's form was an eyesore, but that wasn't what had his attention. The glowing red eyes were all that the man could focus on. He didn't know who this kid was but something in his body told him that he was in danger.

"Boy, what's your name?"

Leelond smirked and shook his head. "When asking someone their name, it's rude to not give yours first."

This resulted in the man's expression hardening. This devil had some lip and he didn't take kindly to being disrespected by a devil, especially being told what's rude and what's not. "Dohnaseek is my name."

"Leelond, Leelond Oakland."

Dohnaseek froze and his eyes went wide. There was no way, it had to be a coincidence. While Dohnaseek was a fallen angel, even members of his faction and even the angels' faction knew of the Devil with the Wicked Eyes. This was nerve wracking but then an idea hit Dohnaseek. If he could take the eyes of this devil, then he'd not only be highly praised, but he'd have a power like no other. A strange spear materialized in his hand, though it was blue and looked like a double sided blade, reminding Leelond of that movie he watched, Star Wars, or whatever it was called. However, Leelond wasn't phased at all, in fact, he was kind of amused.

Issei froze up. This was similar to how his night with Yuma went and when the man that was identified as Dohnaseek shot his black wings out, it confirmed everything for Issei. Last night wasn't a dream, it was 100% real.

"You know, I think killing you two will really boost my reputation in the underworld, don't you think?"

Leelond's expression didn't change. However, the Sharingan in his eyes began to spin as they morphed into what could be described as a four-point wheel. Leelond looks Dohnaseek in the eyes, the man's sinister and deadly gaze meeting him. Little the fallen angel knew, he fell into Leelond's trap and was being placed under the ultimate Genjutsu. Dohnaseek didn't realize it, but Leelond was entering his mind without being detected. Dohnaseek then destroyed the spear in his hand.

"Wait a minute… I didn't realize that the two of you were under the protection of the house of Gremory. I must apologize."

"What's going on? I'm pretty sure this guy was going to kill us… But why did he stop? What is the house of Gremory?" Issei thought to himself before looking over at Leelond. He noticed something strange. The usual crimson eyes with those commas weren't there and it was like a wheel. Dohnaseek then flapped his wings and took off into the night, leaving Issei to be confused. He turns to look at Leelond, hoping to get some answers.

"What is going on?"

Leelond smirked as he met Issei's gaze. "I'm sorry, Issei. But we'll talk later." Issei was then knocked out. An added benefit to Leelond's strange Sharingan was that it amplified his eye of hypnotism, allowing him to easily knock out even some of the high ranking devils. He catches Issei before the boy hits the ground and carries him bridal style. But before he could leave, a familiar summoning circle appeared. It was Rias.

"Leelond, what's going on?" Rias asked, confused and even concerned.

"It's nothing, president. We encountered a fallen angel but after learning that we were part of your peerage, he left."

Rias was suspicious. It wasn't in a fallen angel's nature to just back out of an encounter with a devil. But something told her that Leelond was telling the truth. She then sighed. "Okay. But what happened to Issei? Why is he unconscious?"

"Oh, well, I didn't know if you wanted him to learn about the supernatural yet. So I used my Genjutsu to knock him out. If you want, I can alter his memories again."

Rias shook her head. "No, I think it's time we introduce him into the peerage. He's been targeted by two fallen angels, back to back. I'm starting to get worried that he'll end up dying for real this time."

Leelond nodded with understanding. He then handed Issei's body to Rias. Rias smiled softly at her pawn before telling Leelond he was dismissed and that tomorrow, Issei will officially join the peerage. She then created a teleportation barrier and vanished, leaving Leelond alone in the night. His left eye started to bleed, but it wasn't anything serious. He had long since convinced everyone that the Sharingan made his eyes bleed, though it wasn't entirely the truth. The level of Sharingan that he just used on Dohnaseek was a rare and powerful variant, one that less than the number of fingers Leelond had could use. He wiped the blood off of his face and then like always, he vanished into thin air, leaving no trace that he was ever present.
