A/N: Thought I'd revisit these characters for a moment or two…

OOOOOOOOOO

Razer frowned as he stood outside the healer's hut, smoking a cigarette. He could hear his newborn son crying and the healer cooing over him. But no sound came from Myra.

No sound had come from her lips in months.

He missed hearing her voice. The sass that she could offer. The sweet mantra of her moans when he fucked her senseless. All of it.

What I would do to just hear her say my name again, Razer thought, blowing out a stream of smoke.

Admittedly, he hadn't noticed how her voice had been silenced at first. But when he had, he had had been very cross with her. The black thorny marks around her throat mocked him and she had refused to remove them. All because he had killed her cousin, Rayne.

"I did what I had to do to protect you and our unborn child!" Razer had yelled at her, slamming his fist on the breakfast table.

Myra had shrugged and continued to pick at her food with disinterest. His angers didn't seem to have an effect on her, though he rarely directed it at her.

"Undo this!"

She shook her head in blatant refusal.

"Myra!"

Her green eyes blazed when they met his, but she said nothing. Razer growled and rose to his feet, leaving the room with the intent to kill something.

Sighing, Razer crushed out his cigarette and watched the ashes die. He couldn't see how all of this had gone so terribly wrong. All he had wanted to do was protect his girl and their unborn son. Why couldn't she see that and understand?

He ducked back into the healer's hut and watched the old healer tend to the newborn while Myra watched from a cot. Razer tried to catch her eye, but Myra didn't acknowledge him. He saw the way her eyes danced as the healer presented the baby to her. The healer turned to him and shook her head.

"Not one peep," she remarked softly. "I've never had a woman not cry out when having a baby in all my years of aiding them."

Razer sighed. "I have no doubt that it's due to her great strength…and stubbornness."

Myra made a small face, but then smiled at the baby in her arms. The healer said something that Razer didn't catch and disappeared, leaving Razer alone with Myra. He moved closer to her and caught the slight tension in her body.

"Myra…" Razer sighed. "We make beautiful babies, no? How could we not with how gorgeous we are?"

"…" Myra's face flickered with brief annoyance.

Razer moved closer and saw the way she tracked his movements without fully looking at him. He and Jak's crew had trained her well. She could have been a very good mercenary if she had the heart to pull the trigger on anyone that threatened her.

Razer shifted closer. "Myra…do you know how much I miss your ability to sass back at me? How I wish you would snark back with more than just the expressions on your face?"

Myra shrugged and cuddled their son gently.

"I know that you are mad at me, dear girl. You don't like that I killed your cousin, your last family member, when you begged me not to. I do hope that you have noticed that things in the City have calmed down since then? That no one has dared to threaten you? That everything has gone smoothly, for the better?"

Myra rolled her eyes, but to his surprise, she also nodded. A glimmer of hope bloomed in his chest. Razer took a seat next to the cot.

"Have you been happy, Myra? If not completely with me, but in general?"

Myra nodded.

"I am glad for that. You were not very happy when we were under constant stress." He touched her hair lightly. "I swear you were going to go prematurely gray from it all."

Myra's eyes widened and she smacked at his hand. Razer chuckled at her reaction and earned a small smile in return from her. She looked away after sticking her tongue out at him.

"Myra, please don't deny the world of your voice much longer. Don't deny our son his mother's voice. This planet is poorer for it if we don't have your voice among us."

Their son let out a little cry and Myra gently rocked him.

"We don't have a name for him," Razer commented, looking at the little blend of him and Myra. "We never got to discuss it before…"

Myra glanced at him. She mouthed something that caught Razer off guard.

"I wouldn't dare call him Razer the Second! There can only be one Razer and he is never second!" He chuckled. "I am too great for that."

Myra's eyes rolled and she shook her head. She mouthed something else. Razer cocked an eyebrow.

"Axel?"

Myra nodded.

"Hm." Razer peered at their son. "Axel. Do you feel that should be your name, little one?"

His son opened his eyes and looked at Razer curiously. Razer was taken away by how similar the baby's eyes were to Myra's before her poisoning. But his face was definitely leaning towards Razer's himself.

"Very well. You will be named Axel." Razer stood up slowly. "I will let the healer know." He pressed a quick kiss to Myra's temple. "Rest up, love."

Razer turned and started off to track down the healer.

"Thank you," Myra's voice said from behind him, hoarse from not being used for so long.

Razer's heart swelled with joy. A small smile touched his lips and he went to complete his task.

After all of this time…

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A/N: I don't know when or if I will revisit these characters again. The Jak fandom seems to have died down considerably over the years. - Scarlet
