Somewhere in Remnant, a small android wakes. It's eyes blue as the sky, clothed in black shorts and jacket with ornate designs.
It is disoriented. It looks around and it spots a dark grey box with red accents hovering around him, two arms coming out of the bottom, and a little red cylinder with two white ovals that look like eyes pop out of the top.
"Pod?"
"Hello 9S."
"Hey pod." 9S rubs his white hair. "W- where are we? How did I get here?"
"Unknown. I have, however managed to make contact with Pod 042. Proposal, regroup with pod 042 and accompanying YoRHa unit."
The young-looking android stops surveying its surroundings and looks at the pod. 042? He's not sure why, but he's certain the unit it's talking about is her. It's a feeling he can't shake, no matter how irrational it is.
It doesn't matter. If she really is here, nothing else matters.
Without another word, 9S breaks into a mad dash in the direction the pod indicated
Not far away, another android starts to stir. This one is much taller, its short hair like snow and wearing a short black dress with a white leotard underneath. Her pod, this one white with orange accents floats nearby, periodically hailing her with its masculine voice, anxiously waiting for any response from her.
"mmnh. Where am I?"
"Report: We are stranded in an unknown location. The fauna and flora around us match none currently on record." The white pod responds instantly, clearly relieved to finally get a response.
2B starts at the voice, not expecting to her any. "That's... unfortunate. That means we'll have to survey the geography to find out where we are."
"Furthermore, While I am unable to access any known networks, several unknown networks have been detected. However, all data found are in foreign languages."
"Multiple- foreign?" That makes no sense. There's only the one language in all of Earth. So why is Pod detecting ANY foreign languages at all?
"Affirmative. deciphering all languages found will take some time. Estimated three hours and twenty seven minutes remaining."
"Good. Keep at it." Well, at least thanks to pod, there won't be a language barrier when they come across other androids.
"I have also managed to make contact with pod 153"
"Nines?" The android looks at the pod with hopeful azure eyes.
"Affirmative. Pod 153 has confirmed that unit 9S is awake and currently en route to our location. Proposal: we should wait here for unit 9S and Pod 153 to arrive."
"Sounds good. Run a diagnostic on me in the meantime" Says the android as she searches for a good place to sit.
"... I was dead right?"
". . . Affirmative." The pod replies hesitantly.
"I see. I'm not sure why we're here, but... at least I'm not alone." says the android, thinking of her partner, no doubt on his way to her.

Alright. I had to change the Lore. I wasn't happy with the first few chapters. I didn't think they were up to par, and I wanted to make sure that the first impressions were good. I Don't have much else to say.
Oh! the original Title was "Do Robots have Remnants of Souls?" kind a wordplay with the world of remnant and the fact that Androids are kind of the last REMNANTS of humanity. An alternate title replaced Remnants with Semblance, kind of relating to how Adam went after any trace of the knowledge humanity left behind in order to forge any semblance of connection to them, same as the androids. The souls was simple. Both sides believe themselves to have souls of their own. simple as that! :)
Of course I eventually workshopped, and came up with Remnants of YoRHa. Sure it's not deep. It's as literal as it gets, 2B and 9S are the last remaining YoRHa soldiers. but it's short, sweet and rolls off the tongue.
