Anniversary

It has been thirteen years since the day the world stood still. September eleventh. Danny and the rest of team phantom were going to ground zero to pay their respects. Unfortunately the press was already hounding them by the time they reached the train station. Danny had been hoping they would leave them alone today; he didn't want to explain why they were going. They were not only going to speak at the event there but to remember friends lost that day. Before high school the three original members of team phantom had another friend, his name was ken parkens. He and his family were visiting his cousin at the towers he was on the same floor that the first plane hit. Ember came to remember her brother, Marcus McLain. He was a fire fighter who died trying to save an elderly couple; he didn't end up in the ghost zone. Joe who had lived in his own dimension only knew one person who died that day, a man in a business suit who somehow ended up in his dimension before being destroyed by his father. He told him that he jumped out of the top floor window when he realized he could not get down. Danni wasn't 'born' yet to experience 9/11 but she met the ghost of a paramedic on her journeys through the ghost zone. He told her that he was crushed by falling debris while helping a child out of the building. Jazz was going for her former teacher, a woman who became a police officer the year before the incident. Her name was jennet hills; she was in the first tower escorting people to safety when it fell.

When the press got too bad Danny said "this is too much, lets fly there guys." They nodded and each found their flight partner and changed forms. Danny carried jazz, Joe carried Sam, Danni carried tucker, and ember carried the bags with the flowers and speeches. Upon arriving at the sight they were mobbed by the press again. "Please leave us alone, we will answer any questions you have after the presentation." Said tucker with an uncharacteristic frown on. This shut them up, not used to him being so grim. They left for the towers when Danny and Danni's senses went off like crazy. They were half expecting this. What they didn't expect was most of the ghost zones residents appearing before them on a roof top. They got ready for an unwanted battle when walker held up his hand and said "wait phantoms. We aren't here for a fight. Like you we are here for remembrance. Today is another one of the truces." Though slightly shocked Danny just nodded and told the others to stand down. It was almost time for the ceremonies.

When they arrived they told the mayor about the ghosts and the truce, so the Ghostbusters didn't cause a big problem. And Danny and friends flew through the site. It was cleaned up a bit and the site was prepared for the construction of the liberty tower. When Danny's ghost sense went off white instead of blue they looked around and they all saw figures materializing. They were ghosts, but they still looked human, but slightly see through. "Why was my sense white?" asked Danny and Danni at the same time. "Because we are not ghosts" said a voice that ember recognized. "Mark?" she asked wide eyed. The source of the voice floated out of the crowd. "Hi ams" said Marcus McLain. Ember began tearing up as she went to hug him only for her to fall through him. "We can't interact, amber, all of us aren't ghosts, we are spirits, and we are what most people mistake as ghosts. That's why your ghost senses are white Danny." He explained. "how do you know my name?" asked Danny. "of course I told all my fellow spirits about my three best friends ." said a voice that the original three recognized as their old friend. "ken…" muttered the three of them, he was there smiling a sad smile, as he flew to them. "so, you guys are big heroes now, huh? Too bad I didn't last long enough to help you out." He said with a smile that could break a heart. "we never passed on," said a voice that jazz recognized. "Mrs. Hills," she said. "When you die suddenly, in a state of panic, or in your sleep, you are more likely to become a spirit, the same thing goes for a ghost. If they finish their unfinished business, or are destroyed in the human world, and still contain great sorrow, they may transform into a special kind of spirit called a poltergeist." Replied the officer with the long hair. "and we are all to remain here for at least thirty more year as until the trauma of our deaths are quelled and we may move on." Finished a business man. "when these thirty years end we may finaly leave this world.."
