The Apathetic Heir

Chapter: 06

Updated.

(The Dungeon)

I took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh, cold air as a breeze ruffled my hair. My eyes scanned the pristine city that was buried in a layer of snow boredly.

My wings lazily flapped behind me as they kept me stabilised high up in the sky.

If I fell, I would die. Easily at that, yet that didn't bother me in the slightest. I had done this a few times now, getting used to flying with my devil wings had been rather difficult but it hadn't taken long.

The sensation of having wings wasn't something that would be understood by a human. It simply couldn't, it was like trying to get a human to see from its elbow.

Right now, I was using the advantage of flying to look at the target of my mild interest. The large tower that sat in the distance. I scanned it curiously.

There was more to this dungeon than I had thought. It was easy to make assumptions based on the games I once used to play before my life became boring.

I have been lucky so far.

What I thought was the dungeon's boss turned out to be just one of a few monsters. Some were just as strong, if not stronger.

The Hordes I had encountered could be called small groups compared to the full-blown armies I had found when scouting in the air.

Calling this a "starter dungeon" felt like an amusing joke. Instead of a simple structure with levels and weak creatures, this dungeon was an entire frozen world filled with armies of Frostwalkers and other lethal creatures.

My level had climbed to twenty-two after multiple trips to the dungeon, but my progress had hit a sudden standstill. I'd spent weeks in this world, long enough to grow accustomed to it.

I looked over to Malphor.

Malphor was now level twelve and had grown to be almost as big as me. His growth was downright impressive, though his cuteness seemed to be fading as he grew larger. His fire was perfect for dismantling the dungeon's ice-based monsters.

I had come to learn that level was everything when it came down to combat, the best way to determine it was pure power. Though as I had shown, with my Darklight and Lava having powerful skills could make up for that.

The recent halt in progress was why I was staring at the ice tower in the distance that had caught my attention. Something was blocking my dungeon skill from ranking up, and I suspected the answer lay there.

My body dropped, the feeling of being weightless only lasting a moment as I began to descend at a worrying speed. Just as the ground closed in on my body my wings tensed and my descent abruptly paused.

Malphor perked up, his slitted eyes gazing at me adoringly as per usual. Bodies surrounded him as his sharp teeth casually munched on an arm.

I gave him a pat on the head.

"Seems like there's some sort of tower on the edge of the city, I figure it must have something to do with the reason I can't unlock the next dungeon since it looks rather out of place." I commented, talking to my Familiar like I had grown to do.

He couldn't talk back but he understood me.

"I think we should go check it out." I said.

Malphor sent me an uncertain look.

"I do have a plan." I assured him.

Not a great one, but it could work. Worst case was we ran away from a very powerful monster. It may also be empty but I was too curious to ignore it.

This entire dungeon was based on a relatively modern-looking city covered in snow and there at the edge of it sat a large tower.

Malphor nodded, dropping the arm he was munching on and coming to stand protectively at my side. His malice-filled eyes scanned the area with hate. As if he found reality disgusting and not worth our time.

The snow crunched beneath my boots as Malphor and I moved through the empty streets.

I could hear the faint screeches of Frostwalkers in the distance, their shrill cries echoing through the streets.

The tower was now visible as we closed in on its position, its sharp spire seemingly piercing the sky.

I'd have to be quick, I only had an hour until Mai and Lucius realised I was nowhere to be found. Luckily, they were sleeping as of the moment so I could get away with my dungeon trips.

"We'll keep it clean and quick," I murmured, glancing at Malphor.

His slitted eyes gleamed with understanding as he prowled beside me, his claws leaving shallow furrows in the frost.

A low growl from him snapped my attention forward.

A group of Frostwalkers emerged from the mist, their bodies glinting like jagged shards of glass.

We didn't need to communicate to know what to do.

Raising my hand, I focused on the energy within me, letting it flow like molten lava.

My fingertips ignited with a deep, orange-red glow as I summoned a small stream of liquid fire. I waved my hand in a smooth arc, carving a flaming fissure into the frozen ground before the Frostwalkers.

The heat cracked the ice, and several stumbled back, shrieking as the heat licked at their bodies.

Malphor leaped forward, his massive claw swiping through one Frostwalkers, its body shattering under his strength. He twisted midair, a plume of dark flames erupting from his maw to incinerate two more before they could even react.

"Good boy," I muttered, stepping into the fray.

With a flick of my wrist, two hardened lava spikes shot out. Much faster than when I had first tried this trick as I learned to master my lava manipulation. While levelling it up helped, there was more to that.

I put my hands together and a geyser of lava burst out of my hand, consuming several of the creatures in a brilliant cascade of fire and steam. Their screams were sharp but short-lived, their bodies melting into nothingness.

More of them charged forward, as usual they were undeterred by the death of their kin. It's what made them dangerous. Even at my level.

Malphor met them head-on, his claws ripping through their brittle bodies while his fire created chaos in their ranks. He was only the size of me and yet his strength was much greater.

I had come to learn that every race was born with a certain stat boost. Malphor's was obviously in his physique while mine had been within my demonic power or in simpler terms, magic.

A Frostwalker tried to bite him but I shot a hardened spike of lava into its head before the creature could. Malphor's skin had shown to be incredibly strong but I didn't want him potentially getting hurt.

The Frostwalkers reminded me of zombies and I didn't know if a bite would have a bad effect on him.

No need to risk something that doesn't need risking.

Malphor tore through the ranks of the Frostwalkers.

It was scary to think how strong he was going to become. His magical prowess was nothing to scoff at either.

When one Frostwalker broke from the pack, rushing toward me, I raised my hand, forming a somewhat jagged blade of hardened lava.

Its surface glowed with heat as I swung it in a clean arc, cleaving the creature in half.

My training has been coming along nicely.

The street was silent once more, save for the hiss of molten rock cooling in the snow.

"That should be all of them." I spoke up.

I had known we would come into contact with them from my scouting in the air.

Malphor growled softly, his gaze fixed on the spire. It was clear he didn't like this plan.

"Don't worry," I reassured him, resting a hand on his scaled head. The tower grew larger as we approached, its icy surface glittering ominously under the pale light.

"It's not like we are going inside." I calmed him.

He sent me a confused head tilt.

"You see, there's a bit of a design flaw. While the tower may look cool. It's not very practical when someone can just cut it down from its base." I boredly pointed out.

Malphor sent me a stunned look.

The idea wasn't exactly within the realm of the usual thought.

It was safe though, with this plan. The worst that would happen would be this tower actually held nothing and we wasted our time.

Malphor's confusion turned into wicked glee, a smile that showed his razor sharp teeth spread across his face.

We approached the base of the tower.

"Be on lookout, this is probably going to be loud." I told Malphor, who nodded easily.

My hand touched the Tower's surface, it was no surprise it was freezing to the touch. My hand heated up and melted away the thick coating of frost.

The icy surface hissed and sizzled as my hand's heat melted the frost away, revealing smooth metal underneath.

I took a step back, letting the heat within me rise.

The molten energy surged through my veins, pooling in my palms. With a sharp exhale, I extended my hand, a stream of fiery magma erupting and slamming into the tower's base.

The ice crackled and hissed, steam billowing up in a thick, suffocating cloud. The sound of splitting ice echoed through the frozen city.

Malphor prowled nearby, his body tense, his glowing eyes scanning the area.

The tower's base was tough.

My lava struggled to bite into the thick walls.

"This is ridiculous," I growled, increasing the flow of molten energy.

My demonic power output amplified. The area around me sizzled as heat expanding out from me and my lava burned even brighter.

The base was beginning to fracture, long, jagged cracks spider webbing through the material. The tower groaned ominously.

Then came the first roar. The sound was deep and guttural, a primal noise that vibrated down my spine. Another roar followed, louder and closer. This time, Malphor snarled in response, his body coiled like a spring, ready to strike.

The tower shook violently, chunks the size of boulders raining down. One barely missed me, shattering against the ground in a spray of deadly shards.

With one last burst of demonic power, the base of the tower gave way. A deafening crack split the air as the massive spire began to fall, its weight dragging it down in slow, shuddering motion.

I had cleaved through the entire side of the structure.

The earth trembled as the tower began leaning to the side.

"Let's go." I calmly spoke.

We ran away from the massive tower that was collapsing quickly. It crashed down, loud enough that the sound of its impact shook the entire city. Snow and ice erupted in a massive cloud, obscuring everything.

For a moment, there was silence. I stood there with Malphor l beside me.

His body tense, his gaze locked on the rubble.

So, there had definitely been something in the Tower.

I didn't know what it was but it sounded mean.

No notification popped up, meaning either that didn't count as a kill or it wasn't dead. Both were not ideal.

The rubble exploded outward, shards of ice and debris flying in every direction. A massive, serpentine form burst from the chaos, its roar splitting the air like thunder.

Name: Argos

Title: King of the Glacial Wastes, Dungeon Boss

Level - 50

Race - Frost Dragon

Frost Dragon…?

Its body was a nightmare of crystalline scales and jagged frost, its wings stretching wide enough to blot out the sky. Though, one of its wings was basically close to being torn off. While another of its legs was bent at an awkward angle and deep gouges ran along its shimmering hide.

Despite that, it was alive.

"…"

And furious. Two eyes glared at me with hatred.

Oops.

Its maw opened.

I grabbed Malphor, my wings bursting out as I carried us into the sky.

Liquid frost exploded out of its maw and turned the entire area we had been standing at into massive shards of frost. The entire area somehow became even colder just from being in proximity to the attack.

Dangerous…

Though, my eyes scanned its body. It was damaged.

If I faced this thing at full health, no doubt I would have probably died. The level disparity was massive and its sheer power was boggling. I had seen the effects of leveling. My power had gone up multiple folds.

The level between mine and the monster wasn't far in number yet the sheer difference was insane.

It made me think how strong Mai and Lucius must be.

I wanted that power.

The Frost Dragon roared.

Malphor positioned himself on my back, opening his own maw and releasing a large fireball back at the Frost Dragon.

Liquid frost exploded out of the Dragon's mouth to meet the large fireball in a collision that caused a massive cloud of steam to erupt.

I wasn't idle as I raised both my hands and shot multiple hardened lava spikes in quick succession.

The hardened lava spikes were a bit larger than normal, about 40% if I was to guess. The training I had put myself through, with forming and deforming lava spikes to achieve a quicker cast had paid off.

I saw the lava spikes made the Frost dragon flinch back slightly in annoyance as they pierced its frost hide.

All visibility became lost a moment later as the sheer amount of steam that rapidly covered the area was able to cover us.

I dropped to the ground, just in time as a wild spray of frost came piercing through the dense steam wall. The Frost Dragon had made a wild shot in the dark that would have hit us.

Through the mist I was able to catch the Dragon's large silhouette moving.

Holding my hands together, lava formed into a liquid orb.

The Dragon's head snapped to me as the lava ball became bigger and brighter. It didn't have much time to react as I pushed the large ball of lava towards it.

The dragon roared in fury as the molten ball of lava struck its icy hide, searing through the frost-bitten armor with a sizzling hiss. Its massive tail whipped downward with terrifying force, slamming into the ground and sending a small blast of air rippling outwards.

I was barely able to avoid the tail whip and I mentally patted myself on the back for my choice to bring down the tower on top of it first. The damage it had sustained was limiting its ability to move and fly. Allowing me the physical advantage.

Malphor retaliated with another blazing sphere of fire aimed at its tail as I moved.

Just as the flaming projectile hurtled toward its mark, the dragon unleashed a chilling blast, conjuring a wall of frost in an instant. The icy barrier erupted like a glacier rising from the ground.

Malphor jumped off my back, which had been as awkward as it sounded.

The Frost Dragon let out a massive wave of frost.

We took cover as the area was completely wiped out.

As soon as I was able to, I retaliated. Punching both fists out to create a massive stream of scorching demonic lava.

The Frost Dragon back-pedalled with its limited mobility, before letting out a massive blast of ice that froze the stream of lava into hardened rock. A massive rock now in between the both of us.

It was smashed into shards of massive rock we were forced to dodge as the Dragon performed a tail swipe once more, showing its incredible strength.

Once again I patted myself on the back for crippling it before the battle.

My fist punched out and a stream of molten lava once again erupted, Malphor took that chance to surprise me as a burning spear of fire formed in his hand. He didn't waste time and sent the spear shooting towards the Frost Dragon.

The blast of frost we received could only stop my ball of lava before the spear of burning demonic fire pierced through its icy hide. It roared in pain as the spear lodged itself then promptly exploded in a ball of fire a moment later.

By now, a lot of the armour-like hide had melted and was visibly trying to regrow around the Dragon's large frame.

Our assault didn't end there, I let out two shots of hardened lava spikes that managed to pierce its skin. Malphor formed another fire spear that he threw once more.

He let out a malicious roar, his eyes burned with so much hate that I became mildly worried.

The Frost Dragon, enraged and seemingly panicked, roared back at Malphor with a deafening force.

Its icy body shimmered as layers of frost rapidly regenerated, reinforcing its battered hide. Without warning, its massive claws came crashing down, the force was able to crack the ground beneath us.

I stumbled and punched my fist out to send another blast of lava out in retaliation, Malphor reacted too and a large fireball was formed.

The Frost Dragon roared as it was only able to stop one of the attacks.

I barely had time to react as the Dragon lunged forward, slamming its icy maw toward me.

Molten lava surged up my arms, cooling almost instantly to form crude, jagged armor. It didn't stop there as lava formed and flattened in front of me, I cooled that down and created a shield.

I was just able to raise my lava shield to block, the sheer force of its strike sent me flying through the steam-filled air.

The shield shattered and I brought my arms up just in time.

Pain erupted across my body as I crashed into a boulder, my lava armor cracking and falling off in pieces of stone.

I groaned and forced myself to stand.

Ouch.

That hurt… I felt my bones starting to bend for a second. There would definitely be a nasty bruise.

Malphor sent me a worried glance. He started shaking. Malphor roared back with pure fury, his demonic fire intensifying.

A shroud of darkness flickered to life around him, coiling and writhing like living shadows. His eyes burned with malice as he leaped into the air, his aura growing darker with every passing second.

The Dragon's tail smashed down toward Malphor.

Malphor dodged deftly.

I recovered and instantly sent a barrage of hardened lava spikes.

The Dragon's tail came up to protect its face.

I kept the barrage up with one hand and used my other to punch a blast of lava that slammed into its face.

It roared.

A dense, liquid shadow erupted from Malphor's maw a second later, a massive wave of corrosive darkness that surged forward like a tidal wave.

My eyes widened minutely.

I hadn't seen that before.

The Frost Dragon howled as the shadow slammed into it, eating away at its frost armor and leaving scorched, frozen craters across its hide. Even the surrounding ground hissed and disintegrated under the shadow's relentless consumption.

The Dragon thrashed violently, its claws swinging in wild, desperate arcs to clear the corrosive shadows clinging to its body. Each movement shook the ground beneath us.

My hand rose, dark light gathered. I hadn't practised this as much as I had ought to but I had put time into increasing my control on a smaller scale. Which made things easier.

The pitch-black energy flickered and pulsed around my hand as though it were alive, feeding on the light and drawing everything into it. I was able to barely direct it, a surge of my intent allowing me to send a small ball of Darklight towards the Frost Dragon.

Its eyes could only widen, all of its armour around the Frost Dragons head had melted. The orb struck and there was a flash. Half of its head disintegrated in an instant, I took a calming breath.

My demonic power reserves had lowered to under 20% of its total capacity.

A rumble spread throughout the ground as the Frost Dragons body collapsed.

My eyes closed, I enjoyed the thrum in my blood and the adrenaline coursing through my body.

You have Levelled up!

You have Levelled up!

You have Levelled up!

You have Levelled up!

You have Levelled up!

You have Levelled up!

You have Levelled up!

Seven levels.

Fourteen unallocated stat points. That was on top of the stat points I hadn't allocated already.

I had just gotten that in a single ten minutes what had taken a lot of killing over the past couple of weeks when I could find time to sneak within the Dungeon.

That was the reward for the risk factor playing its part.

Truth be told, I wouldn't mind putting my life on the line for this type of growth but Malphor probably wouldn't feel the same. He was just as protective as Lucius and Mai.

As for the risk and the fact I hadn't allocated a lot of stat points. If that situation had gotten out of hand I would have probably allocated them or if I didn't have Malphor in any case.

Speaking of my Familiar, he quickly appeared in front of me and gave me what could be called a check over.

I chuckled. "No need to worry Malphor. I was able to create a shield of hardened lava in time."

He pouted, all of the malice seemingly disappeared with the death of the Frost Dragon.

"At least you got a tasty meal out of it." I commented, turning to the corpse. "I have to wonder how strong you'll get after eating the powerful Frost Dragon. He was level 50."

I didn't know what the power levels were outside of my dungeon, all I did know was that I was hanging around in the mid-class. I know, quite disappointing even with my bloodline.

Lucius called me a late bloomer. I had to wonder if this had to do with my merging into Razial. Along with the system.

I was far too weak for my liking.

That wouldn't last though…

[Dungeon Gate] [Lvl: 2/50] {Apprentice}

Dungeon gate lets the user create a gate into a dungeon of any available. This skill levels up by making progress via the dungeon.

This meant I had access to a new dungeon.

I didn't plan to go diving into the dungeon straight away. I can only imagine how dangerous this one will be but I would be doing sneaky explorations.

I wouldn't be downright suicidal in order to get a quick power boost.

Both because Malphor could get hurt and he wouldn't like me dying. Which I didn't plan to do or want to do. I simply wasn't scared of it.

Malphor looked at the dragon corpse greedily.

He would get a power boost from eating that. A massive one. He had been stuck to eating Frostwalker corpses which made his progression slow.

Eating a creature so powerful and large should affect him in a positive way.

A ping caught my attention.

[Aura Armour] (SPELL)

A spell that allows the user to form an aura consisting of his demonic power.

I blinked in bewilderment.

Feat?

Experimentally, I opened my mouth and a cold mist began pouring out. Freezing the ground below me.

The chill pricked my skin but did nothing further.

The first thought I had was this cost a lot less demonic power than it would to recreate it with imagination magic. I had tried an ice spell and understood immediately why Devils didn't just wield every element.

They could, but what was the point? When they could choose an element they had an affinity for that cost much less. My lava manipulation cost even less than that so I didn't bother.

This though, it didn't cost nearly as much as it would.

My mouth opened, frost exploded out of my mouth and I noted that I didn't feel any discomfort. Other than a building discomfort. I suppose this was the spell's limit.

The frost spread instantly to freeze everything in 30 metres.

So, it actually worked?

I extended my hand to test the other spell I had acquired.

A dark magic circle flared to life on the ground, its edges crackling with demonic energy. From within, a shabby undead materialized, dragging itself into existence amidst the swirling shadows.

I noted the considerable amount of demonic power the summoning took.

Name: [None.]

Race - Undead Minion

Not bad, considering I was now a mid-class Devil. This spell made me a walking army. Depending on how many I could summon anyway. I didn't realise there was a feat system, and as for the rewards. I was going to guess that the spells rewards were random.

This was a pleasant surprise. It instantly got me thinking on what other 'Feats' I could achieve. I could see the use in having actual spells instead of relying on my imagination magic.

Imagination magic couldn't create undead servants at least.

Screeches rang out in the distance.

I mentally added ten points to spirit and felt my Demonic power reserves practically fold as it gained a good chunk of demonic power. Power flooded my veins.

It seemed like I was going to need to keep the unruly residents of this dungeon away while he ate.

I had a new spells to test.

-Scene Break-

I paused as a small tremor ran throughout the entire mansion. I blinked. The windows rattled slightly and it ran through my entire body.

That was unusual…

I wonder what caused that? To shake the entire mansion it must have been quite big. Was Mai or Lucius training? I could imagine that their level of training would probably destroy the entire Mansion.

No, Mai and Lucius didn't train. Not to a level that would shake the entire mansion to my knowledge anyway. I had been walking alone through the corridor.

Mai was supposed to be making some food and Lucius was probably helping her, they had gotten a bit more used to letting me roam around.

That left the question, what caused it? The reason it was strange was because there were no other residents within the Mansion or the small area outside of it.

We were completely sealed alone.

That had used to terrify the old Raziel.

Another tremor ran through the entire building, this time it was large enough to make all of the windows rattle with it and I had to balance myself.

Something was happening.

I frowned in thought, coming to stand by the window.

The doors at the end of the corridor slammed open and in a burst of speed I couldn't even comprehend, Lucius was in front of me. Mai followed a second later.

"Young Lord!" She exclaimed. "Are you okay?"

Out of the window I could see a yellow barrier covering the normally clear barrier.

Then it occurred to me, someone was tampering with the barrier.

There was no one inside to do it, so it must be coming from the outside.

"I'm fine, what's going on?" I asked, a tiny amount of curiosity slipping into my tone.

Lucius's entire demeanour turned downright frigid.

"Someone is breaking into the barrier." He stated.

"Could it be Lord Lucifer and Lady Lilith?" Mai asked hopefully.

He shook his head. "No, they wouldn't need to break into a barrier; they have complete access too."

I found myself agreeing. They would simply enter.

That meant someone was truly breaking in.

Mai's demeanour turned even colder as she wrapped me in a protective side-hug. I didn't complain as her considerable bust pressed into me. Say what you want about my emotional stability.

Mai was hot. Incredibly so.

"The breach is coming from the west side." Lucius determined, he sent an uncertain glance towards me.

He looked towards Mai. "How should we deal with this?"

"Thank you for asking." I interrupted. "Let's go give the intruders a warm welcome shall we?"

"My Lord." He frowned.

"I won't put you in danger." Mai stated in her usual icy tone.

"Leaving me back here alone would be more dangerous than allowing me to go with you." I pointed out.

Another tremor that was somehow even larger interrupted us.

"Young Master, please stay here." He requested.

His voice was serious and his eyes were cold.

I sighed. "Fine, I'll stay back."

He gave me a hard stare which I reflected flatly. Lucius sighed and gave me a curt nod. "Flare your demonic power if you are in trouble. They shouldn't be able to get around us but just in case."

I nodded.

Anyone who crosses paths with me would likely have more trouble dealing with Malphor than I ever would with them. It took him hours to devour that dragon, but the power boost he gained was nothing short of extraordinary.

Even now, his power was slowly climbing as he digested the Frost Dragon.

Lucius sent me a nod, and promptly vanished in a burst of speed that cracked the nearby windows in its intensity.

Mai gave me a concerned look, she quickly pressed her lips to much cheek before following Lucius.

More rumbles caught my attention as I simply stood and waited by the window. The barrier gained small cracks and visibly dimmed.

I made my way to the outer section, unsure of the direction Mai and Lucius had taken. However, if the barrier that had shielded the outside world since my birth was about to be destroyed, I wanted to witness where my mansion was truly situated.

Malphor stirred in my shadow.

A loud crack ran out, and the barrier gained a massive crack. More cracks appeared as a wave of light assaulted my eyes and the barrier imploded.

The sky turned purple and for the first time since the Devil part of me was born, I saw the outside.

The lush grass that surrounded the mansion was cut off as at the edge of where the barrier had previously cut off was hard, cold stone. I was mildly surprised at how barren the landscape was.

I hummed.

I couldn't hear any sign of battle.

It was a brief moment till a group of what looked to be medieval soldiers in dark spiky armour passed by.

A lot of them roamed in a group.

They turned to me and I didn't hesitate, my hand raised and lava exploded out from my palm in an instant. The wall and window I had been viewing from was vaporised as a large stream of lava shot at the group of heavily armed invaders.

Six of them created a magical barrier while the others braced for cover behind their shields.

The barrier held and the lava poured around them.

That wasn't surprising, there were a lot of them and I figured getting the jump would be better for my chances. Hardened spikes of lava formed and I rapidly shot them towards the barrier.

They were all near my level so giving them a chance to do any sort of retaliation would be annoying to deal with.

The barrier gained cracks and I hurled a wave of lava at the shield. Unfortunately, instead of breaking the shield glowed brighter as they poured more magic into it after regaining their bearings.

My eyes narrowed slightly.

Fine.

Darklight cracked in my hands and all of them became visibly shaken, cowering back in shock and… reverence shined in their eyes?

The shield dropped and all of them dropped to their knees, bowing their heads.

I pulled back on the Darklight.

I believe I was missing some context.

Malphor was about ready to climb out and rip them to shreds.

"Young Master!" Lucius shouted, he came from around the corner.

I titled my head as Mai and another man came into view.

-A Few Minutes Earlier-

Mai stared at the place where the barrier was breached from with narrowed eyes, ice gathered around her hands and the lush grass was frozen solid from the sheer power that was starting to be gathered.

Lucius next to her was just as prepared, yellowish-orange power gathering around him. His clan power 'Rift' being called upon.

The barrier imploded and they were moments from exploding into action before a singular world cut through the silence.

"Mai?" A voice Familiar to Gremailia called out.

Her eyes widened slightly.

"Father?" She replied.

Everything cleared up and she saw Cassian Lucifuge, Lord of the Lucifuge clan and her Father.

An army of thousands was behind him, all dressed in the standard armour for the private Lucifer army force.

Cassian approached her and wrapped her into a hug.

"How did you find us?" She questioned.

"I found your note." He replied.

She blushed in embarrassment, she realised that had probably been a mistake.

"It's been so long." He muttered.

She paused. "How long?"

Gremailia remembered Lord Lucifer speaking about a temporal effect on the barrier.

"Hundreds of years." He replied.

She paused. Lucius paused.

"The Great War?" Lucius asked, interrupting them.

"It's over."

Lucius' face became grim.

"So Lord Lucifer…?"

Cassian didn't need to answer that, his grim face giving them both the information they needed. Her mind instantly went to her Young Lord. Her head ached for his loss.

"What about my Family?" Lucius questioned.

"Extinct." Cassian replied.

Lucius paused for a moment before nodding.

"I see."

An explosion in the distance caught their attention.

"Is there anyone else here?" She asked urgently.

"We sent a squad to flank from the back of our breaching point just in case…" Cassian calmly replied. "Is there someone else here?"

"Yes, Lord Lucifer's Heir." Lucius hissed.

Cassian's eyes widened in true alarm.

-{Raziel Lucifer}-

I stared at the massive army of Devils all kneeling in front of me.

Not exactly what I had expected when I found out we were being invaded.

-END-
