Adrien hummed happily as he hung the mistletoe from the doorway. He had invited Ladybug for a small Christmas party tonight, and the decorations were almost complete. And who knows, maybe he could get his kiss under the mistletoe?
"Brr, it's cold out there," Ladybug had Adrien spinning around, blushing slightly, but he recovered quickly as he walked over to the window. "Don't you mean, "Baby, it's cold outside!"
Ladybug, who was used to his playfulness, pretended to wince. "I admire you quite a bit, though not for your singing voice." "Oh?" Adrien leaned forward. She admired him, huh? "You remind me of a cool cucumber, never letting anything bother you." "Little Bug, I'm shocked and surprised," Adrien teased, "Are you comparing me to a vegetable?"
It was Ladybug's turn to be flustered. "I'm so sorry! I mean-" Adrien took her hands. "It was a joke. I admire you too, but we'd be here all night if I said them all."
Ladybug's mouth dropped open. "Why, Adrien Agreste! Did you have a crush on me?"
Oof. It was the million dollar question, but one Adrien had wanted to blurt out with his mask on, like, forever. "Yes?" his voice cracked, coming out like a question. "Uh, um, I thought we could make little funny faces pizzas for dinner."
They chatted as they worked, and Adrien thanked her ladybugs the conversation seemed normal. "This is nice," Ladybug sighed happily, as they curled up on the couch. "Yeah, there was supposed to be a party at school, but I'm not one for loud parties, so…." "I like quiet things," Ladybug told him. What else are you into, My Lady? Adrien wondered.
"I was hoping we could dance to some Christmas music," Adrien said. "I have my mother's old albums." "I'd love to, but I'm warning you, I'm can be a bit of a klutz." Adrien chuckled. "Don't worry, Little Bug, I'll keep you safe."
Each was a little shy at first as they slowed dance around the room, but then Ladybug did the unexpected. She gave a tiny sigh, leaning her head against Adrien's chest. "I really like you, Adrien," she whispered, and Adrien closed his eyes. "Me too, Ladybug."
She paused the dance to look up at him, and Adrien realized they were under the mistletoe. "You know, its a tradition to kiss the girl you like under the mistletoe and we have one above our heads. Could-could I kiss you, Ladybug?"
As much as he longed to kiss her, the choice was hers. Her bluebell eyes were so very blue as she stared up at him. "You may."
