"I've never met anyone with three eyes before." Daniel stated, staring at the eye in the middle of Xander's forehead. "What are your people called?"

"Humans, I'm from Earth, Doc." Xander answered, with a smirk. "We all are, but I will be the first to admit, we're not baseline humans either. Okay, you guys are telling the truth and I can see the portal. Reversing course will lead us back to where you started and you said you were being chased. Do you think the people chasing you will still be around?"

"Unfortunately, yes. In some places SG 1 are practically worshipped as gods, in others we're wanted criminals. Earth's at war against an alien race called the Goa'uld, a parasitic race of snake-like creatures that burrow into the base of the neck and take control of a host. Thousands of years ago they kidnapped humans from Earth and enslaved them, using their technology to give the appearance of Magic and pretending to be gods. Osiris, Ra, Hathor and others."

"Humans populate the galaxy?" Giles asked. "And are enslaved to creatures pretending to be our gods?"

"There isn't one pretending to be Hecate, is there?" Amy asked.

"Or Janus?" Xander asked. "Because Janus is a favorite of mine and Amy is a follower of Hecate. Neither one of us would be happy with fakes pretending to be them. And I image it would not go over very well with the gods themselves."

"Your world still worships the old gods?" Daniel asked, fascinated. "And no, we've never encountered any using either name."

"Religious freedom and freedom to choose." Xander shrugged. "So who was chasing you?"

"The Jaffa of the System Lord Bastet."

"Jaffa?" Giles inquired.

"Genetically altered humans that serve as a slave army." Teal'c replied. "Such as myself, I have declared war on all Goa'uld. I wish my brothers and sisters to be free. But many truly believe them to be gods."

"Given the technological advantage they have, it's easy to understand." Daniel said sympathetically, thinking of his wife's family who'd rebelled against Ra.

"Alright, numbers?" Xander asked, going over the spells he knew in his head.

"Bastet commands several thousand, but only a few hundred were seen on the planet's surface when we retreated." Teal'c answered. "Most carry a staff like my own, it discharges energy that can injure or kill."

"Oz, you up to some hunting?" Xander asked. Oz's answer was to draw his phasers from his bag. "Cor, Buffy, arm up. Amy and Johnathan, in or out?"

"I'm in." Amy agreed, eyes still black from the power Hecate had loaned her.

"I'm in." Johnathan agreed after a moment's hesitation and a glance at Harmony, who looked worried and then squared her shoulders and nodded.

"I'll take to the air, give you all an overview." Xander decided as Cordelia pulled off her necklace and handed the chain to Giles and in front of the astonished Dr. Jackson and Teal'c her sword grew to its normal size. Buffy went over to a shelf and picked up her currently retracted staff. Xander checked his belt, which was actually his Cloak of Levitation. "I'll use hand signals to communicate and when we get back we'll invest in communicators. Small and discrete ones." Thinking it was too bad he hadn't yet mastered Dr. Strange's telepathy spell, that would come in real handy right now.

"Let's go find my annoying baby sister and Mom." Buffy said soberly.

"Amy, concentrate on maintaining a shield for everyone." Xander ordered.

"Got it." She agreed.

"If we're lucky, the Stargate will be clear and we'll be able to dial home." Daniel offered and the teenagers groaned.

"Doc," Xander mocked glared at him. "has no one explained Murphy's Law to you?"

"What is Murphy's Law?" Teal'c asked, eager as always to learn something new.

"Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, especially if you call attention to it." Xander answered. "Alright, throw it off, we've got a baby sister and a Mom that need finding. Doc, if you and Teal'c would move out of the way, I'll reopen the portal."

"Stay safe, Oz." Willow kissed her boyfriend and stepped back. Her Widow's Bite bracelets would only work up close, they were a personal line of defense and Xander hadn't yet determined which item of his collection to gift to Harmony. And Ms. Calendar's force field glove was currently in her workroom upstairs because she was studying it.

Daniel and Teal'c stepped aside as requested and watched, fascinated, as Xander raised a hand with an oversized ring on one of his fingers. He set the first two fingers of his other hand against the ring and drew it away from the ring, in a circular motion. Both men blinked as they watched an orange energy follow Xander's fingers until a circle had formed and the area inside opened up and they saw the planet they'd just come from.

"Amy first, shield up as soon as you're on the other side." Xander ordered and Amy moved through the opening without hesitating. "Johnathan, go dark. You're our ace, our sneak." Johnathan went invisible and only a slight ripple from the portal indicated his passage through the portal. "Ladies, if you please." Buffy activated her staff and Cordelia gripped her sword and the two moved through the portal. "Now, Oz and you two, I'll be right behind you." Xander finished and Daniel,Teal'c and Oz entered and Xander followed, the portal closing behind him.

They were under fire the moment they appeared, Daniel had been right that the Jaffa were still there. The Jaffa stopped though when Xander activated the Cloak of Levitation and rose up into the air. It wasn't something Bastet had ever done obviously.

"The DHD." Daniel pointed at it, a small device situated in front and to the side of the Stargate. "All I have to do is reenter Earth's address and we can get back to base."

"Do it, Doc." Cordelia ordered, as the Jaffa recovered from their surprise and began firing again and Amy struggled to hold the shield up. "Because I don't know how long Amy can hold the shield and there's more than the few hundred you thought there were."

Daniel began dialing and the Stargate began to move.
