Pokémon: Pokédex no Isekai
Chapter Fifty-six: Settling things, conclusion
The Big Beauty was greeted upon its arrival in Pallet Town, Kanto by Professor Oak, Delia Ketchum, Misty of the Cerulean City gym, and even Oak's grandson Gary. The flying ship landed in a clearing that Oak's Lab overlooked, the drawbridge shot out, and the first person off was Ash, followed by Brock. Ash ran up to the people waiting, but before he could address any of them, Delia ran up and threw her arms around Ash. A mother's prerogative.
The first persons after Ash and Brock off of The Big Beauty were Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Mina. "I see that Ash's mom is happy that Ash is home," Kenny remarked.
"Especially considering the call I got from Dawn while you guys were flying here from Kalos," Oak said, his grim expression etched with worry, "She told me of how you guys had to go answer a call of duty in Hoenn, and while there Ash's Corphish was panicked and had attacked someone out of that very sense of panic. If it weren't for Dawn's quick thinking, then it's highly likely that an order for Ash's Corphish to be euthanized would have been made."
"I'm sorry, Professor Oak," Misty began, "But did you just tell us that someone wanted a Pokémon to be euthanized because it had acted solely out of panicked instinct?! That's utterly horrible! I would never wish something like that on any Pokémon, even a bug Pokémon!"
Looking concerned, Gary said, "Wait a minute, what exactly happened to cause someone to want Ash's Corphish to be put down?"
"First off, as far as everyone outside of us is aware, it was a wild Corphish and not one belonging to a trainer," Dawn began, "Respectfully, I'd like to keep it that way." After everyone nodded, agreeing to keep the secret, Dawn said, "Second off, from what I have been able to figure, it had started over in Petelburg City, Hoenn, where Ash and Brock went to in order to catch up with their friends May and Max. Ash and Brock were feeding their Pokémon, and Ash's Corphish had apparently gotten into an argument with Ash's Sceptile..."
(ONE EXPLANATION LATER)
"...Leading to Chandler needing to go in for more surgery as that latest bout was stress induced," Dawn said as she finished the tale.
Oak, Delia, Misty, and Gary all looked surprised at Dawn and the others. "...Umm, wow," Gary said, "That's pretty... umm... wow. That Chandler man sounds like a right proper piece of work."
"And you mentioned that he wanted to strike May's little brother?!" Delia snarled, practically seething with protective motherly fury, "How old is that sweet young man again?! And Chandler actually had wanted to strike him?!"
"I don't think any of us knows how old Max is exactly," Trip replied, "But we can say for certain that he's under ten years of age. He's not yet old enough to go off on his own Pokémon journey."
"That makes it even worse!" Delia snarled, "That Chandler man had wanted to strike a young boy! How dare that man declare such intent! I'm fit to track him down and rip out his jugular with my bare hands before shoving it right up his sphincter!"
Now all eyes were on Delia. "...Holy crud, Mrs. Ketchum," Gary said, clearly visibly alarmed by the sheer potent rage Delia was exuding.
"Yeah, word to the wise," Oak said to everyone, "Delia here, much like every other mother living here in Pallet Town, is furiously protective of children. Do NOT harm or threaten children, or even say you plan to do so, in front of Pallet Town moms."
"Noted," Mina said, sounding like she had just been handed live saving advice.
Clapping her hands together, Dawn said, "Anyway, we're here in Kanto to, in addition to dropping off Ash and Brock, also continue our work to peacefully spread the word of a discrimination free world without using the methods that Team Heart had used. It'd be great to get some help there."
"I will agree that Team Heart's goals of doing away with discrimination is actually noble," Oak began, "They just had the misfortune of going about reaching those goals in a rather ignoble manner. But your desire to achieve those goals, but with the right and noble manner, is praiseworthy."
"Dawn and the others have actually succeeded in a few other regions so far," Ash said, "Alola, Unova, Hoenn, and even Kalos."
That last one caught Misty's attention. "Dawn and her crew succeeded in Kalos?" Misty asked, "You mean that place where the locals are mean to Sophocles simply because he's admittedly a little on the heavy side?"
Turning to look at Misty, Gary said, "Wait, did you get back together with your boyfriend after the mess your older sisters carried out? Oh my goodness, congratulations, Misty!"
"Well, Misty and that Selene girl are sharing Sophocles," Kenny clarified, "It's a bit of a story."
Looking surprised, Delia said, "I'm sorry, but... but did you say that Misty and another girl are actually sharing a boyfriend?"
Rolling her eyes, Dawn said, "Yeah, Kenny had come up with the idea that Misty and Selene can be Sophocles's harem. Surprisingly, both girls agreed."
"You're part of a harem, Misty?" Delia asked.
"Well I mean, come on," Misty said, "Sophocles is, well... he's just amazing."
"I still wanna know what Sophocles's secret is," Brock said, clearly jealous of how Sophocles had been able to get a harem, whereas Brock has failed in every pursuit of romance he ever tried. Oak decided to have things moved to his lab slash ranch, with Dawn offering to move The Big Beauty so it was parked inside the open ranch area.
Later, everyone, including the rest of the crew of The Big Beauty, was having a banquet lunch outside. Dawn was getting a to go cup of coffee, largest size available with hazelnut creamer, when she heard Ash cry out in alarm, "What do you mean your Umbreon is near death, Gary?!"
"Pardon?" Dawn said in surprised alarm, running over with her coffee to where she heard Ash's cry. She came upon Ash sitting at a picnic table with Brock, Misty, and Gary, with Gary looking worried and concerned. "What's going on?" Dawn asked, "I just heard Ash cry out about Gary's Umbreon being near death apparently."
"Team Heart wasn't gentle with my Umbreon," Gary said, looking grim and like he might cry at the drop of a hat, "After Team Heart was taken down and wholly rounded up, the Pokémon they stole were all recovered. But my Umbreon, he..." Gary briskly shook his head. "...There's a fair chance that he may not endure for very long."
"That's... I lack the words to convey how bad I feel that is," Ash said, "Gary, I am so sorry..."
Looking up to Dawn, Misty said, "Do you have any ideas on something that can be done to help out with Gary's Umbreon, Dawn?"
Dawn gave the notion some serious thought. "...The best thing that I can think of would be to see if Alphonse can use its powers to heal Gary's Umbreon," Dawn said, "But if that won't work, then I'd have nothing left to offer."
Dawn sought out Oak and asked him if it was possible to arrange to bring Gary's Umbreon before Alphonse, who is Dawn's named Ho-oh. Dawn figures that seeing if Alphonse's powers it had used in legend to revitalize the Pokémon who perished when one of the towers in Ecruteak City, Johto, burned down into the beast trio could be used to heal Gary's Umbreon.
Oak, while marveling at the genius of the idea while saying that it could be valid, said that sadly Kanto region law wouldn't permit it as it's 'not standard medical procedure', and would fall under the category of pseudo-medical science. Hands on his hips, Oak said to Dawn, "Were it not for that law, I bet that Gary would be chomping at the bit to let you have your Ho-oh heal his Umbreon."
"Exactly, gramps," Gary said as he walked up, "But unfortunately, due to that stupid law, we can't even check to see if Dawn's idea would work."
Sighing, Oak said, "Sadly, we're going to have to let the Pokémon Center in Vermilion City transfer your Umbreon to that top notch Pokémon Center in Shintos. I'm sorry that Kanto law had taken your right as Umbreon's trainer out of your hands, Gary. It's a very tough deal for you, I'm sure."
Dawn's interest was piqued by something that Professor Oak had just said. "...Umm, excuse me Professor Oak," Dawn began, "But where did you say Gary's Umbreon was being transferred to?"
"To a top notch Pokémon Center located over in Shintos," Oak replied.
"And what is Shintos?" Dawn asked, her interest piqued.
"Oh my goodness, you don't know about the Shintos region, do you?" Oak said, "Well, I figured that you ought to be informed of it sooner rather than later, given that Gary and I were planning to ask you to take us over to Shintos so we can be there for Gary's Umbreon." Dawn said that she would be glad to give Oak and Gary a lift when the time came, but she'd have to discuss it with her crew first.
...
"No fucking way, dude!" Kenny said when he and the other reborn trainers had a private meeting in the meeting room on board of The Big Beauty. Kenny's tone and expression made it very clear that he was happy and excited for whatever it was that was being discussed. "There's an entirely new region for us to explore and spread the dank word of a discrimination free world without the use of Team Heart style shenanigans?!" Kenny went on.
"Not to mention new Pokémon to find and catch," Trip said, "New badges to earn, and all of that other good stuff that comes with going to a new region."
"We won't be going until Oak and Gary need that lift, and it won't be for a while," Dawn said, "We still have time to spread our word of a peacefully brought about discrimination free world in the other regions of the world."
"Eee hee hee hee!" Mina cheered, "A new region to go to! Oh, I hope there's new Eeveeloutions, that way I can shiny hunt for them!"
Turning to look at Dawn, Kenny said, "Speaking of shiny Eeveeloutions, if there ARE new evolved forms of Eevee in the new region, would you consider evolving your shiny Eevee into one of them?"
Gently shaking her head in the negative, Dawn said, "Ezio is staying as an Eevee. But we're getting off subject here." To the other reborn trainers, Dawn said, "We still have to cover the other regions aside from Alola, Kalos, Hoenn, and Unova that we haven't done our peaceful preaching at. This means we have to cover Kanto here, as well as Johto, our home region of Sinnoh, Galar, and lastly Paldea. I'd like to save Sinnoh for last so when we're done we can rest a bit at home."
Kenny, with an excited yet sly expression said to Dawn, "...Before we go to the new region?"
Rolling her eyes, Dawn said, "Yes, before we go to the new region." As the other reborn trainers cheered, Dawn said, "But remember! We aren't going until Oak and Gary are ready to go, and it'll be a bit of time before that."
"I hope that there's new Pokémon that fill out the missing type combinations," Trip said, "Ooh, some more dual water steel types would be killer. As awesome as Empoleon is, we need more dual water steel types than just Empoleon."
"A dual bug dragon type would be pretty sick," Mina suggested.
Dawn, as she kept a neutral, monotone expression, said, "...I'd at least like to see a dual fire fairy type." The other reborn trainers all cheered, happy to see that even Dawn, who was trying to stay as the stoic mature one in the situation, couldn't help herself. Dawn to her credit at least cracked a bit of a smile. Despite needing to wait for Oak and Gary to be ready, and also having to go to the other regions to peacefully spread the word of a discrimination free world, Dawn herself was just as much excited for the new region as the other reborn trainers.
Shintos... it sounds like it'll be one hell of a grand adventure, indeed.
The reborn trainers were able to get to work on peacefully spreading the word of a discrimination free world without the use of Team Heart style methods there in the Kanto region. Their efforts had seen a surprising amount of success, despite initial resistance from former Kanto regional security men, who thought that Dawn and her crew were trying to restart the Team Heart Empire. Those men were made to stand down when it was pointed out to them, as well as made abundantly clear, that what Dawn and company were doing was peaceful and not foul.
Mina also kicked a former Kanto regional security man right in his hidden treasure, scoring a rather strong critical hit. Given how assholeish, not to mention borderline ineffective and the fact they always took credit for wins they by no means ever earned or deserved, the Kanto regional security men had been during the time of the Team Heart Empire, it was largely agreed all across the Kanto region that the security men had it coming.
Surprisingly Mina wasn't the first to do what she did; the first person to have kicked a Kanto regional security man in his holy land was, of all people, Sabrina of the Saffron City gym. Sabrina was then followed by Erika of the Celadon City gym, who was followed by Lt. Surge of the Vermilion City gym, and then he was followed by Ash's mom Delia. The Kanto regional security men were NOT popular at all among the people of the Kanto region, it would seem.
Kenny admitted difficulty in imaging Sabrina, Erika, and Delia all kicking men in their down unders, even though the thought still struck him as utterly hilarious.
After Kanto got the ball rolling on eliminating discrimination in a peaceful manner that didn't make use of Team Heart style shenanigans, the reborn trainers moved things on over to the Johto region, which was right next door to Kanto. There, the reborn trainers saw similar success, although they did have to work a bit on trying to address the issues of religious discrimination that had caused a lot of pain in Johto in the past.
Aside from religious discrimination which had personally affected a few notable persons who were in Team Heart, the reborn trainers also tackled ableism a bit, given that Gold who is the Champion of Johto is autistic. Ayane who is Gold's older sister was keen on helping the reborn trainers when they did a rally to promote and support their cause over at Blackthorn City Academy, and all of the students in Ayane's homeroom also helped out.
The reborn trainers were glad for the help, and knowing how teens can feel and act when they're working on a cause they strongly believe in, Dawn and the others had no doubt that Ayane and her classmates were going to help keep things in Johto going long after the crew of The Big Beauty all leave for the next region on the list. The last thing that Dawn saw before she and her crew left the school was Ayane and Ideku sharing a kiss as Gold saw it and chuckled a bit.
Following Johto was Galar, where upon arriving in Wyndon the crew of Dawn's flying ship were met up by a few persons, including Hop, his older brother Leon who had to be led directly there so that he wouldn't get lost, Marnie, Piers, and Nina. Leon had wanted to praise the reborn trainers for their goal of peacefully preaching the word of a discrimination free world without the use of Team Heart style methods, saying their work will make things for the world have a Champion time.
Piers said that he and the others with him wanted to help, Nina especially given that she had faced ableism due to being autistic. It was pretty much a repeat of what all they had done over in Johto, only the autistic preteen Champion here in Galar is a girl instead of a boy. Either way, Dawn and the other reborn trainers saw success in their goals there in the Galar region, letting them cross another region off of the list that they have going.
After their time in Galar, the reborn trainers moved things on over to the Paldea region. There, Dawn and the others met up with their friends Rimu, Penny, Arven, Nemona, and a new girl that none of them have seen before named Juliana. Apparently, Juliana was the latest person to reach the rank of Champion in the Paldean Pokémon League, although she and other Champions had to do a bit of a reassessment after the Team Heart Empire was taken down.
Regardless, with help from the Paldean friends, the reborn trainers were able to spread the word of a discrimination free world without the use of Team Heart style methods in Paldea. It helped that pretty much every Celestial Dragon kind of Paldean wealthy elite person was killed while the Team Heart Empire ruled in Paldea. With the ball rolling in Paldea, the crew of The Big Beauty was able to take off for the Sinnoh region, their last stop in their quest of goodwill.
The Big Beauty was later parked outside of the Berlitz residence in Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh, letting the crew rest and relax at home as Dawn still hasn't been called for a lift by Oak and Gary. Rhyanna was in Veilstone City right now, visiting her little brother Mitchael. Leona was also off visiting her folks as well. And of course the reborn trainers were visiting their own families.
Take Dawn, for instance. She was laying on her bed, resting. She had dropped off what all trinkets and the like she had gotten over the course of her journey, starting from when she and the others had gotten to here in the Team Heart timeline, all the way up until now. Things here had gotten as good as they can get, so Dawn's going to want to keep one particular thing in mind.
No more using time travel to fix things.
Dawn was awake as she laid on her bed, looking right up at the ceiling as she thought about what all had happened here in the Team Heart timeline, as well as how Dawn and her friends helped to bring about a discrimination free world without the use of Team Heart style methods. That was a pretty sweet deal, and yet another reason why Dawn wants to refrain from-
"Ah! Leave me alone, Kenny!"
"You got another punch coming, Trip!"
Dawn was snapped from her thoughts by the arguing of Trip and Kenny downstairs. Luckily for Dawn, her and Trip's mom Johanna was out at the moment, leaving the house to just Dawn and Trip. Getting up from her bed, Dawn with a mildly annoyed scowl on her face left her room and went on down to the first floor to see what Trip and Kenny were fighting about this time.
...
When Dawn got downstairs, she spotted Kenny angrily chasing Trip around the kitchen's island counter, while Mina who watched from the living room was laughing. Dawn made a loud whistling noise, one reminiscent of the noise on a certain starship letting people know that the captain was on the bridge. Trip and Kenny stopped and turned to look at Dawn.
A wry eyebrow arched, Dawn asked, "What are you two arguing about this time?"
Pointing an accusing finger at Trip, Kenny snarled, "He just said that he likes Blue Lock for the animation quality! I need to punch him again! Johnny Cage style!"
"Kenny you are not punching Trip," Dawn said flatly, "Or hurting him in general. Same applies to Mina, just to cover bases." Relaxing her stance, Dawn said, "Look, I know you guys are anxious to get a start on spreading the peaceful word of a discrimination free world here in Sinnoh, but there's no need to chase each other around with threats of physical harm. And Kenny, you're lucky that me and Trip's mom isn't here, otherwise she'd tan your hide for threatening Trip."
Seeing that the boys were settling, Mina came walking on over. "Hey Dawn," Mina began, "When are we gonna get cracking on spreading the dank word of a discrimination free world without the use of Team Heart style shenanigans here in Sinnoh?"
"As soon as our crew members who are visiting family here in Sinnoh get back," Dawn replied, "We still have no idea when Professor Oak and Gary will contact us to give them a lift to Shintos."
"Oh yeah," Kenny said, an amused and anticipating smirk on his face, "We're primed to go on some dank adventures in a new region."
"Is Shintos the gen ten region, though?" Trip asked, eyebrow arched.
Shrugging, Dawn said, "The latest region any of us had any inkling of is Paldea, due to Trip seeing the gen nine starters. After that..." Shrugging, Dawn went on, "Who knows what all else awaits us?"
"What all do we know about Shintos, though?" Mina asked.
Folding her arms over her chest, Dawn said, "From what I can tell, it's a Japanese based region, more traditional Japanese but with some modern dashes added in." Dawn was personally hoping for a more Scandinavian based region, a land rich with the lore and history of the hale and hearty Viking people who rule over that northern land of snow and cold. A region like that would totally be a region that Dawn could see herself chomping at the bit to go to.
Even so, Shintos with its traditional Japanese based region was also very appealing. Looking to the other reborn trainers, Dawn went on, "We're going to have to wait for the call from Professor Oak to head on over. It would be in bad taste to leave without him. We'll also have to stock up well for the trip to Shintos, as well as keep an eye out for what all new Pokémon are out there."
"I'm so excited for this trip to Shintos," Mina said, "I can't wait to see what all awaits us there!"
As Dawn nodded in understanding, there was a knock at the door. Dawn went to answer it, and saw that it was Rhyanna and Leona. "Yeah, I got back from seeing Mitchael," Rhyanna said, "And ran into Leona who got back from seeing her family at the exact same time."
Clapping her hands together, Leona said, "So Dawn! When will we get cracking on making the folks here in Sinnoh more accepting and less discriminatory?"
Dawn couldn't help but smirk in amusement. "As soon as everyone else in the crew is ready to get going." Dawn was happy that everyone in the crew was ready to get going, given that she as well as the other reborn trainers wanted to get started on spreading the word of a discrimination free world without the use of Team Heart style methods there in their home region of Sinnoh.
...Although Dawn was feeling that her fellow reborn trainers were wanting to clear that business more due to wanting to get cracking on going to the Shintos region.
The reborn trainers held their first rally in Hearthome City, taking advantage of the sights to see such as the Contest Hall to hopefully draw in more people. They then used places with high levels of population, including Canalave City and Sunyshore City. At every rally, the reborn trainers spoke about how a discrimination free world without using Team Heart style methods was actually a very achievable goal, assuming enough people work towards said goal together.
The people of Sinnoh, drawn to the word of Dawn who is the Champion of Sinnoh and Monarch of the World Coronation Series, hung on her every word. Eric and his company kept to themselves, as Eric didn't want to rock the boat. He heard what happened to Chandler in Hoenn, no way that was ever going to NOT make the news. Eric, a bit on the superstitious side concerning karma, decided to err on the side of caution and not do anything to piss a lot of people off.
It helped Dawn and the reborn trainers got help from a lot of noteworthy persons in Sinnoh. Cynthia, the former Champion of Sinnoh, pitched in when she heard what Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Mina were all up to. Other persons such as gym leaders and elite four also pitched in to help out, with some of the gym leaders using their swagger to help sway people to the cause. It turned out that Crasher Wake, the water type Pokémon user, had a bit of a fan base due to being a wrestler.
Dawn and the other reborn trainers were surprised when Paul and Reggie came back to see them and offer to lend their aid as well. "Although I actually rather miss being a part of the crew," Paul began, "I still have to stick with Reggie. His experiences have left him with some trauma, and all due to the sheer stupidity of the law enforcement here in Sinnoh. I have to put family first."
"I don't blame you in the least, Paul," Dawn said, "It's good that you hold such love for family. That shows you're a good person."
"If you ever wanna catch up with us, you know how to reach us," Kenny said, "Although fair warning to you, chances are that if you try contacting us in the near future, by the time you reach us we'll be in the Shintos region."
Paul perked up at the mention of Shintos that Kenny made just now. "...You guys are planning on going to the Shintos region?" Paul remarked, "Huh. Me and Reggie have a cousin around Reggie's age who lives over in the Shintos region."
"Really?" Trip said, "What's his or her name?"
"Her name is Chisaki," Paul replied, then he suddenly had a hint of confusion in his expression. "...Or is it his name is Chisaki?" Paul added, "I'm... I'm sorry, it's been so long since I thought about me and Reggie's cousin Chisaki that I forgot what Chisaki's gender is. Hold on, let me go get Reggie, he will be able to tell us."
Paul left the reborn trainers behind, then came back a few moments later with Reggie. "Paul tells me that you guys are potentially heading on over to Shintos soon," Reggie remarked, "And that you'll more than likely run into our cousin Chisaki."
"Paul said he doesn't remember what Chisaki's gender is," Dawn said, "And further added that you might be able to fill us in on the matter. It'd be nice to have the relative of someone we know help us out in Shintos, but we ought to know what to look out for."
Nodding in understanding, Reggie said, "Yeah, that makes sense. Well anyway, Chisaki is a boy, but was assigned female at birth. Last I heard, he finished the final procedure to complete his transition to the male gender."
"Oh, your cousin is a female to male transgender," Mina said, "That's fair. We ain't got no problem with that."
"Considering you guys have been trying to peacefully spread the word of a discrimination free world," Paul began, "It would be weird if me and Reggie's cousin being trans was a bother to you."
"Do you at least have a picture of Chisaki to show us?" Trip asked, "That way we know what to look out for when we get to Shintos?"
Gently shaking his head, Reggie said, "Unfortunately, we don't have one that's recent enough to help you. However, you can very easily find Chisaki. He works as a guard for the Shintosian royal family. I believe that Chisaki's job officially is personal guard of the emperor's first born child, a daughter."
"Shintos has a royal family?" Kenny asked.
"Shintos also has various feudal lords that govern smaller parts of the region," Paul said, "But the emperor rules the region as a whole, and his word can overrule a feudal lord's word if necessary."
"Okay, we've never been to a region with an emperor and feudal lords before," Kenny remarked, "This sounds like it's going to be even more exciting than I've already been anticipating!"
"I actually have a few copies of books on Shintos's history and lore," Reggie said, "If you guys want, I can give them to you."
"When I was much younger," Paul said, "Reggie would read to me stories from the book on Shintos's legendary Pokémon. They're really interesting, although you guys ought to brace yourselves as one or two of them to be a little bit on the weird side."
Arching a wry eyebrow, Kenny asked, "Weird how, exactly?"
Briskly shaking his head, Reggie said, "You'll find out later when you read it."
In due time, things in Sinnoh were catching up go the other regions of the world in terms of being a discrimination free world. And such a world was brought about peacefully, by the noble efforts of many a good people who had been correctly taught that all people are... well, people. Regardless of what a person's race, religion, social class, sexual orientation, gender, weight, sexual identification, disability, age, or what have you is, that person is STILL a person.
They're human. And they deserve to be treated as such.
It was about two and a half days after Dawn and her crew completed their work in Sinnoh. Dawn was laying on her bed in her room at the Berlitz residence, trying to take it all in. She... she had done it. She had actually done it. ...Well, not Dawn on her own, she had help from the other reborn trainers as well as the rest of her flying ship's crew, not to mention various friends in the other regions all over the world. Even so, Dawn was a leading figure in that quest.
A quest to peacefully bring about a discrimination free world. Dawn couldn't help but wonder how Professor Yvonne, were she still alive, would have reacted to the results of the labors of Dawn and her crew, how Yvonne would have reacted to the fruits that said labors had borne. It was a lot to be taking in, the fact that a seemingly impossible goal was accomplished, and all through the correct methods rather than peace through iron fisted tyranny.
There was now nothing left to do save for waiting for the call from Oak and Gary, for them to fly on over to the Shintos region where Gary's Umbreon would be transferred to a top notch Pokémon Center to receive treatment for what it had gone through after being stolen in Kanto during a raid that was carried out by Team Heart. ...Wait, wasn't Jessie a part of that raid? Dawn was going to have to ask Jessie at least one uncomfortable question, maybe more.
Right as Dawn stood up from her bed, she heard a knock on her door. "Yo Dawn," Trip's voice called out, "You decent?"
"Yeah, you can enter," Dawn replied. After Trip opened the door, Dawn asked, "What's up?"
"We just got the call from Professor Oak," Trip said, "Gary's Umbreon is already en route to that big ol' fancy Pokémon Center in Shintos. Professor Oak and Gary are ready for the pick up and lift over there so that Gary can be there for his Umbreon."
Dawn nodded once in understanding. "Fair enough. I have everything ready so that we can leave as soon as we get the call."
"There's been a slight change to the plan, though," Trip said, getting Dawn's attention, "Apparently, Ash, Brock, and Misty are coming along as well. Ash is also interested in journeying through Shintos, and Brock and Misty are tagging along because they want to adventure with Ash again, just like old times."
Dawn couldn't help but smile in amusement. "I cannot hold that against Ash in the least," Dawn said, "Anyway, is the rest of the crew ready?"
"Mina says she just needs to pack her lock picking kit," Trip said, "After that, everyone will be waiting on you to get ready before we head to Kanto to pick up Oak, Gary, Ash, Brock, and Misty."
Arching a wry eyebrow, Dawn asked, "Why does Mina wanna bring a lock picking kit?"
Shrugging, Trip replied, "I dunno, probably to pick the lock on the door of your room on board of The Big Beauty so she can sit in your papasan chair when you aren't looking."
"I'll kick her ass if she sits in my special chair," Dawn swore as she left her room with Trip, closing the door behind her. Dawn and Trip said their goodbyes to Johanna before taking off for where The Big Beauty was parked outside. Dawn and Trip were the last members of the crew to board, so once the drawbridge was drawn back in, The Big Beauty took up into the skies above and made its way to the Kanto region, so as to pick up a few guests first.
...
Dawn, when she and her crew arrived in Pallet Town, Kanto to pick up their guests, had to call out her named Lucario Leni to use Psychic to yank Gary away from Jessie, given that Gary went utterly ballistic on her upon seeing her. That just goes to show that Jessie had a LOT to make up for while she's serving her probation under Dawn's custody.
After that little kerfluffle, Gary as well as Oak, Ash, Brock, and Misty all got on board. Dawn, for safety reasons, did a check of what all Pokémon Ash and the other guests were bringing along with them to the Shintos region. Brock was bringing his Blissey, Croagunk, and Sudowoodo, Misty was bringing Starmie, Politoed, and surprisingly a Dewpider, and Ash was bringing Pikachu, Dragonite, Gengar, and Lucario.
"Oh yeah, we're expecting to find a cousin of Paul's and Reggie's in Shintos," Kenny said to the guests, "A guy named Chisaki. According to what Reggie said on the matter, Chisaki is of mixed ancestry, being half Sinnohian and half Shintosian."
"Paul has a cousin living in Shintos?" Ash asked, his interest piqued.
Nodding once in the affirmative, Dawn said, "Yeah. Chisaki apparently works for the Shintosian royal family as the personal guard of the emperor's first born child. Chisaki is also around the same age as Reggie, so a bit older than Paul."
Smiling a bit, Ash said, "Shintos sounds like it'll be a great place to check out."
Nodding once in agreement, Dawn said, "Yeah, Ash. I can't help but wonder what all we'll be seeing when we get there." The Big Beauty continued to fly onward, in the direction of the next adventure that Dawn and the others would be going on.
THE END
Author's notes;
This chapter concludes 'Pokémon: Pokédex no Isekai', and it sees the noble quest that Dawn and the other reborn trainers had, peacefully bringing about a discrimination free world, come to a quiet but affirmative conclusion. With peace and acceptance now spread all over, Dawn and the others are left wanting for a new adventure.
...Which comes in the form of something I've been working on for quite some time; a fictional region of my own design, with Pokémon also of my own design. Inspired by various videos I've seen on the interwebz, I thought up a 'fakemon' region of my own. Dawn and the others will be going there, with bringing Gary along for a grim reason being the catalyst for the adventure's spark.
What all will come from this? How well will the heroes do? I... honestly have no clue as this is the first time I've tried something like this. It'll be a learning experience for me. However, I do know one thing for certain; the adventures of Dawn and friends are not quite yet done. There's more to come in the future, so until then take care.
