A Harry Potter oneshot, based on original characters, one based on me, one based on someone I know from Deviantart who I'm pretty close with, anyway, hope you enjoy it.

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter

Pain. That was all the fifteen year old Magical Jamie Townley knew at that moment, pain as he was thrashed again and again by his father's belt.

"How dare you, how dare you be so disgusting, I did not raise you this way!" The man roared.

Jamie tried to reply, to plead, but the moment he opened his mouth, he was struck again. He cut a pathetic figure at the moment, his dark red hair had started to absorb some of the blood from one of his wounds. His hazel eyes reflected only pain and his pale skin and too frail body showed how badly he had been treated over the summer, away from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he was safe and happy, his late mother's heritage and his own, compared to his Muggle father who, ever since his mother's death had treated him horribly, trying to 'stamp out' his magic. But now his father had found something that, in his eyes, was even worse than Magic. He had found one of the live letters exchanged between Jamie and Sam McWinter, his boyfriend as of Christmas time in their fourth year, the very previous year even.

They had been friends since first meeting in first year and their relationship had only grown from there until that Christmas in 4th year where they finally realised their true feelings and shared a kiss. Things grew from there until now. Knowing what his father was like, Jamie had to keep things hidden, but lately, scared of his father's actions, Jamie had sent a plea to Sam for help, but it was too late and now he was in a world of pain. That was until there was a loud banging sound and suddenly Jamie heard his father roaring in anger. Blinking through the pain Jamie turned to see what was going on. He grimaced at the stinging of the serious cut that was bleeding on top of his head. He saw it, Sam, a fit young man with a slender build, curly brown hair and brown eyes, pale skin, was there, along with several witches and wizards that Jamie instantly recognised as Aurors. He was shocked to see them but realised Sam and likely Sam's mom had contacted them, understanding Jamie's situation when Sam's absent father was the same way but thankfully no longer a part of their lives.

There was some argument going on between his father and the Aurors, Jamie knew things were serious as they wouldn't be doing this and risking the statute of Secrecy unless they were actually doing something very important.

"Jamie." Sam cried out and rushed to him. "Oh my...Hold on, we're getting you out of here."

"Like hell you are, you don't have the right take him from me, I've done nothing wrong!" Jamie's father roared.

Sam turned and glared. "You were beating him with a belt, you were trying to kill him!"

"I was fixing him, getting him to realise his disease, what's it to you!?" Was the harsh reply. "Oh, let me guess, you must be the one whose dick he's sucking."

Sam flushed but glared and ignored him, letting the Aurors take Jamie's father into custody and instead helped Jamie up.

"C'mon, things have already been organised. You're gonna be staying with us." Sam explained as he supported Jamie and began walking him out. "Let's get you to mom, she can fix you up."

Hope soared in Jamie hearing that, he knew Sam was right, his mother was a healer after all. His nightmare was over.

Jamie bit his lip as he stood before the mirror in the bathroom at Sam's house. He had changed into simple pyjamas, his injuries healed, he let out a shuddering breath.

'It's over now, I'm safe.' He told himself. 'I can't be hurt by him again, he's been arrested and I'm staying with Sam.'

A feeling of warmth spread through him at the thought of his beloved boyfriend, his rescuer really, for it had been Sam who alerted his mother of the danger he felt Jamie was in, in turn alerting the Aurors.

Jamie straightened up and took another calming breath. 'Of course Sam knew something was wrong from the get go, knowing dad was treating me badly because of my Magic...his dad was cruel too, but due to his sexuality, mine hated both...at least he still has his mom...and I have him.'

Managing a small smile at that Jamie left the bathroom and found Sam waiting for him smiling reassuringly.

Sam stepped up and instantly pulled Jamie into a tight hug which Jamie returned.

"It's okay Jamie." Sam said gently. "It's over now, he can't hurt you again, you're safe."

Jamie relaxed against Sam. "I know...I just, I need time to adjust."

"Yeah...the important thing is you're safe and you're not alone." Sam replied. "You have me."

Jamie nodded at that, feeling calmer as they both straightened up.

"C'mon, mom got your room all set up." Sam told him.

With that he led the way down the hall, Jamie following until they reached the door to one of the bedrooms which Sam then opened and they stepped in. Now in the room Jamie smiled and then felt it again, the unfortunate stirring of memories, memories of his suffering, there was only one way to combat them, but he felt awkward even asking.

He turned to Sam who stood in the doorway.

"So, how is it?" He asked.

Jamie replied honestly. "It's perfect, thank you, although um, I do need to ask something."

"Yeah?"

Jamie sighed and just went for it. "Sam I...could you stay? I don't want to be alone tonight."

He blushed just at saying it but Sam, also blushing and momentarily surprised, quickly recovered.

"Of course, just let me go and get changed."

Jamie nodded and Sam left quickly, returning a short while later, ready for bed. They climbed into the bed and soon were hugging each other closely, Jamie snuggled against Sam as the two shared a soft kiss, a promise to recover and to keep each other safe. Jamie could finally relax, he was free from his father and safe with his beloved. The horror was over, the healing could now begin.
