One year had passed since Chun Li and Ryu left his home in Japan. They had traveled to many countries seeking out other fighters who Ryu could challenge on his quest of martial arts mastery and control over the dark hadou. Honing her skills as well, Chun Li's fighting ability had grown tremendously practicing alongside Ryu everyday. Their shared memories and experiences deepened their emotional bond. Their marital partnership grew based on their love, understanding, respect, and commitment to each other. They became each other's support in providing emotional safety and love.

Ken and Eliza welcomed their first child into the world, a boy named Mel. He was the light of their lives, providing a new meaning for their marriage by a shared purpose and commitment. Seeing each other in a new light and sharing the joy of raising their newborn son enhanced their emotional connection. While Ken offered to give Eliza a village of help after the birth of Mel, she decided she wanted to experience true motherhood, exclusively breastfeeding with minimal help only when she needed it.

Cammy and Guile continued their search for her missing daughter, but their search resulted in many dead ends. Eventually, their search slowed as they had their work commitments and other responsibilities to tend to. Guile's wife, Julia, held much resentment toward him for his time away, which resulted in him taking more assignment closer to his home. A part of Cammy was relieved the search had tapered down, she still was incredibly scared of the thought of being a mother and a caretaker. Her life was based on fighting and being alone, she was not sure if she was ready for a massive change to her lifestyle.

Chun Li and Ryu had made their way back to Japan. They looked over the beautiful feudal aged castle and were happy to be back.

"I can't believe we have been gone for a whole year!" Chun Li exclaimed. She made herself a cup of tea and went to the balcony that overlooked the courtyard. Ryu had followed her, he stopped a moment and watched her as she looked out. He captured a mental snapshot of her in his head. She looked so statuesque standing there like a goddess of beauty and strength. He looked at her toned physique, with visible muscle definition in her arms and powerful legs. He could see the happiness in her beautiful face. Her eyes sparkled and her hair shimmered in the sunlight. Ryu took her cup and set it down on the table, she wondered what he was up to. He gave her a warm embracing hug.

"Thank you," Ryu said and gave her a light kiss.

"For what?" She asked.

"For being my wife, for standing by me, for traveling with me, living minimally for the last year. I know it must have been difficult at times for you, but you never once complained. You have completely won me over heart and soul," Ryu explained.

"Oh, is that all?" Chun Li teased. Ryu lightly tickled her sides. "That's playing dirty!"

"You gave up a lot to be with me, I just want you to know I appreciate what you have done and I will spend the rest of my life making that up to you," he continued.

"I can name a few things you can do," Chun Li raised her eyebrows up and down. "But really, I would do anything for you,". After embracing a moment longer they sat down together on a swinging chair. Ryu began massaging her shoulders.

"Ready to find Honda? When I spoke with him on the phone, he said he was ready to train with us by tomorrow," Ryu said.

Chun Li took in a deep breath enjoying his hands caressing her neck. "Would you be surprised if I told you I want to go back home…to Hong Kong?" She turned to face Ryu. "I want to go home for a bit. I know I said I would stay and train with Honda, but my heart is saying different. I hope you understand?"

"Then I'll come with you," he replied.

"Don't be silly. You waited a year to train with Honda. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. A little time apart won't hurt," Chun Li explained.

"Are you sure about this?" Ryu questioned.

"Yes. I miss Fei Long and Gen. I want to check up on Master Yo, I want to visit my father's and our son's grave. And, I'd just like some stability for a bit," she leaned in and kissed Ryu.

"I understand. I'll come to you as soon as I can," Ryu promised. Chun Li nodded in agreement. "When will you leave?"

"I'll stay for a few more days, I at least want to say hello to Honda," she replied.

Ryu gently reached for Chun Li's hands. He looked into her eyes lovingly, brought his face close to hers, and whispered, "I better bed you one last time so you'll never want to leave my side again".

"Ugh!" Chun Li punched his arm. "And here I thought you were going to say something nice!" They both laughed together. "Well, actually that's not a bad idea!"

"Oh, I will make you miss me!" Ryu picked up Chun Li with one swoop and carried her off to the bedroom.

A few days later…

Chun Li arrived at Hong Kong airport. She made her way through the terminal and to baggage claim. While waiting for her luggage to come out of the conveyor belt, she noticed a lot of people in clamor. Many of them were holding cameras yelling out for someone to pay attention to them. What is that all about? Must be some celebrity arriving here. She turned back around and saw her bag, she grabbed it and started making her way outside.

"There she is!" One person yelled.

"Mei mei!" A familiar voice said. Chun Li turned around and saw Fei Long running to her.

"The paparazzi followed you here? Really, Fei Long?" Chun Li sighed and nodded her head.

"You know the drill!" He said. Both Chun Li and Fei Long began running from the paparazzi crowd. They had done it many times in their youth and had always made a plan of escape. "Just like old times!" They finally made it to his car and he quickly drove off to Chun Li's home.

"Home sweet home," Chun Li said as she got out of the fancy sports car. She looked around and many good memories with her father came rushing back to her.

"That's all the luggage you had?" Fei Long asked looking for another bag.

"I've been traveling light the last year, duh!" She mocked him and went to give him a large hug. "I missed you!"

"Chun Li!" He said in surprise and began feeling her biceps and deltoids. "How much have you been working out?" He joked.

"Working out and training with a street fighting champion will do that. All the better to still kick your ass!" Chun Li teased.

"Oh, we're so on! Main dojo floor, 5 minutes. We'll see who still reigns supreme!" He challenged her to a spar.

"Prepare to lose!" Chun Li ran off to her room to get ready.

In Japan…

Ryu stood in the courtyard opposite of E. Honda. They had just finished practicing their moves on each other. Honda suggested they stop for for a lunch break. As usual, the large sumo brought an array of foods, sweets, and delicacies with him from his restaurant. They went to the dining area and began to eat.

"All of the best from my restaurant!" Honda boasted.

"Thank you! This looks great! I can't wait to dig in!" Ryu grabbed a plate and chopsticks and began to put one of everything on plate. "I wish Chun Li were here so she could try all this delicious food as well."

"It's too bad she had to leave. It would have been interesting having a match with that beautiful wife of yours," he said as he slurped down some noodles.

"She missed home. I don't think she's ever been on the road for that long with minimal accommodations," Ryu explained while taking large bites of his okonomiyaki.

"For how long do you want to stay traveling with her?" What about a family? Do you two not want children? A permanent home?" Honda asked.

"I haven't thought that far in the future," Ryu pondered for a bit. "We had already gotten pregnant before."

Honda's eyes opened wide, "You two have already had a child? Ryu, brother! Why did you not tell me?"

"Because the child had died," Ryu explained what had happened to their baby.

"I'm very sorry for your loss. I can see that being a sensitive subject. Forgive me for asking," Honda bowed in apology.

"I don't know about having other children, especially when Akuma is after me. If we fight and I get killed by him, I know Chun Li would be devastated. She already has been through so much in her life. The only family close to her is her brother, Fei Long—"

"Fei Long?!" Honda said with his mouth full. He quickly chewed and in one large gulp, he swallowed his food. He searched through his personal bag and brought out a newspaper with Fei Long on the front cover. "This Fei Long? The famous actor?" He questioned. Ryu picked up the newspaper.

"Yeah!" Ryu chuckled. "This picture must have been taken when he picked her up from the airport the other day. Fei Long isn't her biological brother, but they grew up together and consider each other like a sibling. He was very close with Chun Li's father."

"I see…Then, that is why you fight and train so hard, to protect her. It makes sense, but, a beautiful woman like that doesn't seem like she will always want a vagabond lifestyle. Don't leave her waiting too long, my friend."

Ryu sat for a moment letting Honda talk. Something about what he had said resonated in the back of his mind.

A few days later in Hong Kong…

Chun Li woke early in the morning. She had a full day planned for herself. She wanted to visit Gen and Master Yo, see the martial arts students in the dojo, visit her father and son's grave, and see things she hasn't been able to since she was gone. While she was getting dressed for the day, she heard Fei Long in the house.

"Mei Mei! Look what I brought!" He shouted to her. Chun Li came out of her room and saw Fei Long had brought breakfast.

"Really? You're calling me Mei Mei again? You haven't called me that since we were kids!" She shook her head.

"Yes! With you being back home, it feels like old times. We just need dad here to come around the corner and tell us all of the chores he needs us to do around the dojo." Fei Long and Chun Li burst out in laugher.

"Speaking of which, I want to go visit him and my son. Would you like to come with me?" She asked.

"Of course. I wouldn't miss going with you for anything in the world," he replied. "Did you ever decide what the baby's name was going to be?"

"No, we never officially decided. There was so much going on at the time, I didn't put anymore thought into it than I needed," Chun Li wanted to change the subject. "Let's eat and then get on our way, yeah?" Fei Long agreed and set up the table to eat their breakfast.

"Oh, I grabbed your mail on the way in," He said and plopped the pile on the table. While eating, Chun Li began to go through the pile, there was one letter in particular that caught her eye. It had no return address on it. She opened the letter, it read:

Chun Li. Kowloon Hotel. Room 1145. From X.

"What is this about?" Chun Li asked. "Do you know anything about this?" Fei Long looked at the mysterious letter.

"I have no clue what this is about. It's kind of creepy." He saw her thinking, "You're not thinking of going, are you?"

"Of course not! For all I know, it could be one of your fangirls waiting to kill me. I'm sure our faces were plastered all over those celebrity fan pages from the airport the other day." Chun Li got up and threw the letter in the trash.

Later that day...

After visiting the graves of her father and son, Chun Li and Fei Long made their way over to Master Yo's tea shop. They found a parking spot across the street and got out of the car.

"Doesn't look like much, does it? This guy has to be over 200 years old now," Fei Long joked.

"Oh, shut up. This guy used to be an assassin, I wouldn't want to get on his bad side. Be respectful!" Chun Li walked into the tea shop with Fei Long trailing behind her.

"Ni hao," a young girl greeted them as they walked through the door.

"Good afternoon! I'm looking for Master Yo. Is he around?" Chun Li asked. The young girl's eyes lit up after seeing Fei Long.

"Oh my gosh! It's Fei Long! Will you sign an autograph for me? Can we take a picture? I am your biggest fan! I loved your movie that came out last year, I saw it a million times! Oh, won't the girls be so jealous when they-" the girl chatted on and on.

"Excuse me, but we're here to see Master Yo. Can you please tell me if he's here?" Chun Li interrupted.

"Grandpa!" The girl yelled loudly, "There's someone here to see you! Just go on in the back," she told Chun Li. Fei Long stayed behind to humor the girl.

Chun Li slowly made her way to the back on the tea shop where Master Yo was sitting with a cup of tea and gui yuan on a plate.

"Fu Hua, did you say something?" Master Yo asked.

"Master Yo? Ni hao, it's me, Chun Li," she said as she bowed.

"Chun Li? Dorai's little girl and wife of Ryu? Please, come sit down!" he motioned for her to sit in the chair across from him. "What a lovely surprise! I knew you and Ryu would make a fine couple. Is he here?" He poured a cup of tea for her.

"Thank you for seeing me, and no, he isn't here. He stayed back in Japan training with a friend," she took a sip of the tea.

"How unfortunate, but I see he's won some pretty big tournaments over the years. How has your travels been?" Master Yo immensely enjoyed receiving visitors. It was not often he had a visit from someone significantly younger than him.

"Yes, he has. He is always training very hard, as am I. Someone needs to protect him! I would love for you to come visit the dojo when you can. Maybe you can even give the students some pointers?" Chun Li missed having an elder to chat with. Seeing Master Yo was like like going to see a grandparent.

"Of course, I would love to drop in if you'll have me." Master Yo and Chun Li continued their chat, they enjoyed each other's company very much. Fei Long stayed in the front with Fu Hua, showing him all the different kind of teas they had.

Coming towards the end of their visit, Chun Li noticed Master Yo wasn't making sense in his conversation.

"Are you alright?" Chun Li asked.

"He's like the devil. Take your children and run far away, he'll kill you all," Master Yo looked frantic. Chun Li went to his side and tried to calm him down.

"Master Yo! What are you talking about? Are you alright?" she worried for his health. Suddenly, he was normal again, continuing the conversation from where he had last left off. "Master Yo? What was that about?"

"Oh, did I do it again?" he looked disappointed in himself. Chun Li looked very concerned and confused. "You see, being very in tune with my chi, with nature, I don't always see things in time as linear. They can get mixed up from time to time."

"What do you mean?" Chun Li asked.

"Do you remember the first time Ryu brought you here and I spoke as if you two were already engaged? Well, I had already seen that you two were to be married. I had already seen the wedding," he explained.

"But that first visit was almost 10 years before we got married!" she couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"I don't pick and choose what I see, it just happens. Sometimes I see happy things, sometimes I see bad things. I just try to focus on the good ones."

"I see things too...in my dreams, or sometimes I'm even awake. I don't know what they mean most of the time. How do you decipher the meaning of them?" Chun Li asked.

"When the spirits are restless, there usually is a message they are trying to get to you. Look around you, see the signs, you may not always interpret it if you don't know how. Have you noticed re-occuring numbers? Things out of the ordinary? Even a smell that shouldn't be there can be a sign. Pay attention in your dreams that seem very real," Master Yo explained. Chun Li took in a deep breath, all the information was making her think deeply.

Later that night, Chun Li made up an excuse to Fei Long about leaving the house. She secretly went to the Kowloon Hotel. She couldn't stop thinking about the letter she received. Deep inside her, she wanted to investigate it. Upon entering the hotel, she looked at what floor room 1145 was on. She found the stair well and prepped her gun in case of what she might find as she went up. Coming out into the hallway, she found it eerily quiet. She felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up, her breathing deepened. She finally reached room 1145 and found the door slightly ajar. She knocked on the door and pretended to be room service, there was no answer. She walked into the room and no one was there, all she found were bloody sheets. The entry door slammed shut and she heard a loud bang. Chun Li fell to the floor, she saw she was bleeding from her stomach. She began to panic and squirm around finding anything that would help stop the bleeding. As she was losing consciousness, she saw a hooded figure standing over her and a child hiding under the bed.

Suddenly, Chun Li screamed and jolted awake. Chills were all over her body, sweat came from her forehead, her breathing and heart rate were out of control.

Fei Long burst through the door, "Chun Li! Is everything alright?" He was in a panic ready to fight what he thought could be an intruder.

Chun Li saw she was in her room and realized she was dreaming. "I just had the most horrible dream!" Fei Long sat on the bed and put his arm around her.

"You scared the shit out of me!" he said calming down.

"It felt so real," Chun Li put her hands over her face and wiped the sweat off of herself. "It was just a stupid dream!" she let out an exasperated breath.

"Thank goodness that's all it was," Fei Long went to the bathroom and got Chun Li a glass of water a a wet towel. She wiped herself off and finished the glass. "What the hell were you dreaming about anyway?"

"I dreamed I went to that hotel from the stupid letter I got earlier today, and I ended up getting shot," she explained.

"Well, maybe it's a good thing you tossed it in the trash. Are you alright now? I'm going to head back to bed," he began to get up.

"Do you mind staying with me? It was a really scary dream, I kind of don't want to be alone," she asked.

"Of course," Fei Long got into the bed next to Chun Li. She put her back against his.

"Thanks, butthead," she teased and lightly elbowed his back.

"Goodnight, thunder thighs," he reached back and lightly pulled her hair. They both smiled and dozed off to sleep.
