It was a bright sunny day and Chun Li walked out in her garden admiring all the blooming flowers and trees. The air was filled with their scent, it reminded her of when she was little playing with her father. She had decided to stay around the dojo that day to help the sifus train the students. Everyone was in awe of her being there, especially the students because they knew of her champion martial arts status and being the owner of the dojo.

"Sifu! It is an honor to train under you today!" one student told her.

"Sifu! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!" Another one said. Chun Li made sure not to take it easy on the students. She drilled them very hard and their training was more intense than they had ever experienced before. After their session, Chun Li stayed around to answer any questions the students had.

"Where did you learn to fight like that?" an eager student asked her.

"I trained under my father and Sifu Gen. The last year I have been training with my husband," she answered.

"Your husband? I didn't know you were married, Sifu!" A girl named Lan opened her eyes wide with excitement. "Who are you married to? Do you have a picture?"

Chun Li pulled out her cell phone to show the students a picture of her and Ryu training together.

"I know who that is! That's Ryu! The Japanese martial arts champion! He's won world tournaments," a boy named Wuhao said in awe.

"That's him!" Chun Li proudly stated. All the students were very eager to ask questions about her martial arts, about her personal life, and her relationship with Fei Long. Chun Li felt proud to answer all their questions, she felt happy being there with them and passing down the knowledge she had. She had forgotten how much she like training younger individuals who were enthusiastic to learn. While sitting with the students, Fei Long came into the dojo looking for Chun Li. All the students couldn't believe their luck, seeing both Chun Li and Fei Long in one day.

"Can you excuse us?" Fei Long asked the students. "I must speak with Sifu Chun Li for a moment." They all groaned seeing Chun Li leave. "Come here, you need to see this." Chun Li wondered what Fei Long was so insistent about. He led her inside to the TV with the news on.

"Last night at the Kowloon Hotel, an attempted kidnapping happened during the night. The suspect in question fled the scene—"

Chun Li gasped, she remembered her dream she had the night prior.

"Think it's a coincidence?" Fei Long asked.

"Something tells me it's not. Someone was trying to tell me of this crime, they knew it was going to happen. But, why reach out to me? And how would they know? I've only been back a few days," a thousand questions went through Chun Li's mind.

"The day you got here, we were photographed by the paparazzi. That must be how they know you're here," Fei Long was sure that's how the person who sent the letter knew.

"I think I need to go down there. I want to see the crime scene," she went to her room and changed her outfit.

"What am I going to tell the students?" Fei Long yelled to her as she ran out the door leaving. "Ok, bye," he said sarcastically.

Chun Li made her way to the Kowloon Hotel. There were police still on the scene. Luckily, she saw someone she knew from her days as a Hong Kong officer.

"Officer Wan!" She yelled to get his attention

"Chun Li?" Wan squinted his eyes, not believing seeing her there. "What are you doing here? I thought you lived in New York working for Interpol. She gave him a quick explanation of the last year and a half. "Well, would you like to come and see the scene? I could use someone of your talents questioning the young girl," he asked.

"Thank you for offering me the opportunity. I'd be more than happy to be of assistance to you," Chun Li smiled warmly. In the hotel, Wan showed her the way up to room 1145. She began to get chills going down her spine, the feeling of Deja vu crept up on her. Inside, a girl of 16 was in the room.

"This is the girl, would you mind questioning her and looking around? Maybe you'll see something my officers didn't," Wan asked. Chun Li carefully went up to the visibly shaken girl.

"Hello. I'm Chun Li. How are you—" she began.

"Here. This is for you," the girl quickly shoved a letter into Chun Li's hand. "Don't tell anyone I gave this to you," the girl pleaded.

"I don't understand. Why can't I—" Chun Li was interrupted.

"Take it and go. They'll kill me if you don't take it and leave!" The girl pleaded again. Chun Li quickly took the letter and hid it in her jacket. She didn't understand what was going on but she could see the fear in the girl's eyes.

"Will you be alright?" She asked. The girl shook her head yes. Chun Li got up and began to leave the room, she saw blood on the bedsheets as she was walking out.

"Did you get anything out of her?" Wan asked.

"No, she's in shock. I don't think she's ready for questioning," Chun Li replied. "I'm sorry I couldn't do more." She said her goodbyes to Officer Wan and offered her help with anything the police needed help with in the near future.

In Japan…

Ryu was in his dojo warming up for his daily exercises. He stretched and did a few moves to get the blood pumping through his body. He thought about Chun Li and their last year together. He smiled thinking about all the good times and memories they made. He began to realize how much he missed having her beside him everyday, he felt incomplete. What am I still doing here? I should be with Chun Li. But, what if I can't protect her if the time comes again to fight for our lives? That is why I can't give up one day not to train. I must be strong. I must protect her at all costs! Being caught up in his thoughts, Ryu didn't hear someone calling his name.

"Ryu-san? Hello?" A female voice called to him. Snapping out of his thoughts, Ryu came to.

"Sakura? What are you doing here?" He said surprised to see her.

"Really?! That's all you have to say to me after not seeing me for over a year?" Sakura crossed her arms and scoffed liked a moody teenage girl.

"I didn't mean it like that, I'm sorry. You just surprised me, is all," he tried explaining himself. Sakura kept her arms crossed and tried staying angry, but she found she couldn't.

"Oh, Ryu-san! I forgive you!" She ran to Ryu and jumped up to hug him. "I want to hear all about your travels, all the places you've been, all the fighters you met. Where is Chun Li? Is she here, are you alone? Details!"

"I'll tell you all about it…if you can keep up!" Ryu ran out of the dojo and into the wooded area outside of the castle. Sakura ran after him as fast as she could with a huge smile on her face from ear to ear.

After a lengthy run and work out, Ryu invited Sakura inside for lunch.

"So, how did you find out I was here?" Ryu asked.

"Ken told me! I hadn't heard from you since your wedding and I thought maybe you forgot all about me!" Sakura made a pouty sad face.

"Forget you? No way! How could I forget an awesome kid like you?" He reached over to her head and gently tossed her hair around.

"Hey! Cut that out! And besides, I'm not a kid!"

"Of course you aren't, but I'll still tease you anyway!" he laughed. Ryu told her all about his travels over the last year. Sakura was over the moon listening to his stories, she could listen to him and watch him all day. "Do you miss Chun Li?" she asked.

"More than I can express in words," Ryu replied.

"Then why don't you go to her?" Sakura was trying to find out how long Ryu was planning on staying in Japan.

"There are things I have to get done here first. I want to go and be with her but I'll just have to try my hardest to get what I want accomplished in the shortest amount of time," he explained. "Enough about that, tell me what's going on with you." Sakura was very happy Ryu showed interest in what she had been doing in the last year.

In Hong Kong…

Chun Li had the letter the young girl gave to her. She grappled with the idea of disposing it or not, but her curiousity got the best of her. Upon opening it, it read: Pier number 7. 2300. -X

Chun Li took a deep breath. A thousand questions went through her mind: Should she go, should she not? Who is "X"? Why would they be contacting her? She looked for Fei Long in the dojo and asked him to come with her. In the house, he read the letter.

"Are you thinking of going to this?" Fei Long asked.

"I don't know. The cop in me wants to. What if it's a crime like the other night that I can help prevent?" Chun Li replied with worry in her voice.

"It sounds dangerous to me. What is it's one of your father's old enemies trying to take out his line? What if it's Shadowlaw?" He yelled.

"Then that's more of a reason to investigate! I still want to see them crumble. I never wanted to stop trying to bring them down! What Bison did to father is something that I still live with everyday!" Chun Li began to get tears in her eyes.

"Then I'll go with you," Fei Long hugged her. "If it is Shadowlaw, I want them to burn as much as you do."

"Then it settled. We go tonight." Chun Li was determined to find out who the letters were from and why they were sending her the location of the crimes before they happened. "I have to make a phone call." As Fei Long went back to the dojo, Chun Li pulled out her cell phone. She scrolled through her contacts and chose a name.

"Hey, Cammy…"

Later that night…

Chun Li and Fei Long went down to the Hong Kong Harbor where many ships loaded and unloaded their cargo. They carefully made their way to Pier 7. They staked out a spot and waited. Soon, they saw a small speedboat approach the dock.

"That doesn't look normal. Why would a speed boat be coming into the pier for larger vessels?" Chun Li pondered.

"I bet that's what we're looking for," Fei Long kept his eyes on the men getting out of the boat. All but one look-out man got out. As they watched the others go out of sight, Chun Li and Fei Long snuck up to the boat and surprised the look-out. Immediately, Chun Li subdued him and pointed her gun at him.

"What are you doing here?" She questioned him.

"I'm just here for a pick up." The scared man answered back.

"What are you picking up?" Fei Long asked with anger in his voice.

"I don't know! I swear! They don't tell us what we're picking up, just that we need to be here to get it!"

"Hey, they're coming back!" Chun Li noticed the other men heading back to the speed boat with a box in their hand. Quickly, they pushed the man down and disappeared. Once the men were almost to the boat, Chun Li and Fei Long came out behind some boxes and began attacking the men. They were able to easily get the box. Chun Li held a gun to the subdued men.

"Before we open this box, would any of you like to confess what's inside?" Chun Li shouted. The men looked confused.

"What the hell is the meaning of this?!" One man demanded to know.

"You're not in a position to be asking questions!" Fei Long warned. "What's in this box?"

"Go ahead! Open it!" the man said. Fei Long opened the box and found bottles of imported beer inside.

"What!?" Chun Li was confused. She lowered her gun.

"All of this over goddamned beer!" the man complained.

"I'm sorry. We thought you were someone else. Please, forgive the intrusion," Chun Li bowed. The man got up with the other men and left swearing and cursing. They took off. "I must be out of my damned mind for coming here!" She felt very foolish.

"Maybe following these letters is a bad idea, Chun Li. Who knows where they could be coming from," Fei Long put his arm around her to comfort her. "Let's go home." Chun Li nodded in agreement.

The following morning Chun Li sat at the breakfast table with a cup of herbal tea. She still felt like a fool for following the letter that lead her to nothing. She decided to call Ryu.

"Hi. Are you busy?" Chun Li said into her phone.

"Hey! Never too busy for you! How is it going over there?" Ryu was happy to hear from her.

"I miss you. How's training?"

"Great. Sakura is here too. She found out from Ken I was here, so she made her way over here hoping to see us. She says hello, by the way."

"That's really nice that she came all the way out there, I'm sure she's ecstatic to train with you and Honda." Chun Li sighed.

"Uh oh. I know that sigh. What's wrong?"

"It's pretty stupid but…something happened last night at the harbor and I just feel so distraught over it," she explained what had happened the night prior and the letters she received.

"If you're getting strange letters, I should come over there. You never know who it could be coming from," Ryu began thinking of how soon he could leave Japan.

"There is not enough information about this "X" person. It could all just be some joke. Don't worry about it. I'll be fine!" She tried convincing him.

"I will jump on the next flight if you tell me you need me!" Ryu stressed to her.

"Really, it's OK! I promise I will tell you if I'm in trouble."

"Alright, then. I really miss you."

"I do too. You can't come here soon enough," Chun Li replied. They spoke a while longer and finally ended the conversation.

Chun Li grabbed her cup and went out into her garden. She smelled the outside air and felt the warm sun on her skin. She sat down on a bench and closed her eyes, reminiscing when she was little. An image came to her mind, a boy sitting by a river. The words from Sagat's mother "there's a boy waiting for you", was remembered. Who is he? Who is the boy? Why does he seem familiar? Maybe I need to find him? Chun Li thought about her vision. An idea struck her. She went inside, grabbed her purse and left out the door.

Chun Li arrived at Gen's restaurant. Surprised to see her, he invited her to a special table for lunch.

"It's so nice to see you again, I want to hear all about your travels!" Gen happily said.

"We went to so many places! But, before I continue—" Chun Li leaned into him and hugged him tightly. "You're the closest link to my father. I need a daddy right now." Gen wrapped his arms around her and gave her a big warm hug back. They embraced for a while and then sat down. Gen reached over the table and gently took Chun Li's hands.

"You can always count on me to be there for you, my dear," he softly said. So, tell me, why isn't Ryu with you?"

"He still trains so hard everyday. He feels like he has hit a point where his training over the dark hadou has leveled out. I think he needs a stronger opponent," Chun Li explained.

"He still hasn't learned to control it? Even with knowing about the power of nothingness?" Gen seemed surprised.

"I think it's because he still has so much hatred for Akuma. I think that's why he hasn't found spiritual balance."

Gen thought a moment, "Why don't you tell Ryu to come here? Perhaps I can have a few sessions with him?"

Chun Li's eyes lit up, "Really? You'd do that?" Gen nodded his head. "Wonderful! I can't wait to tell him! Thank you!" A waiter brought food to the table and quickly, the two began to enjoy their lunch. Once they were finished, they had some tea and some dessert. Gen noticed Chun Li thinking about something.

"Is there something the matter, dear? You may not be saying it, but your body language is quite loud," Gen asked.

"Yes, there is something on my mind. I have visions sometimes, and they are so confusing. I had one earlier today, but it's one I've had before in a dream over a year ago. It seems so real, like a real place somewhere. I just don't understand it, is all," she explained.

"Hmm, so you have heightened intuition? These visions or dreams can be spiritual messages offering you insights of personal growth, guidance, or maybe in your case, a future event." He continued, "Deciphering what they mean depends of the context of what you see and it's own personal meaning to you. A symbol for one person may not mean the same thing for another."

"I had a dream of my father before my wedding, he was trying to warn me something big was coming. I didn't understand it then, but it was Bison he was trying to warn me about," Chun Li put her hands on her face sighing.

"And what a big event that was. Seeing your father again after all those years after his death was a true miracle. It takes tremendous spiritual energy to come back in a semi-physical form. I think you should focus on meditation. Specifically, meditation for spiritual guidance. We all have spirit guides, perhaps you can ask yours," Gen told her. "What vision are you seeing?"

"I see a boy, there's a river nearby and a bamboo hut. In my dream, an elder woman was inviting me to the hut. Also, when Ryu and I were in Thailand, Sagat's mother said something what I thought was strange then, but thinking about it now, it makes sense. We were having a normal conversation and when I was about to leave, she said that there's a boy waiting for me. I think the boy in my vision, in my dream, and the one Sagat's mother is talking about is all the same boy," Chun Li had a realization.

"Then the spirits must be telling you that there's something special about him!"

"When Ryu and I were in India, I found out that Shadowlaw was kidnapping children with the intent on training them to become martial arts experts. Who knows what they plan on doing with them, but it gets deeper than that. I never told you this, but when Ryu and I battled Bison on the airfield in Phuket, he took me because he wanted my son. We also found out Cammy had also bore a child. I think these visions and kidnappings are all interconnected. I think my police work is unfinished and I need to help these children.

"Well, my dear, I think you know what you need to do," Gen said. Chun Li nodded yes. She got up from her seat and hugged Gen in a long tight hug. SHe thanked him for the meal and his time and left.

A few days later…

Chun Li was watching the news. She saw a news report about the harbor.

"Pier 7 of the downtown harbor has been hit by explosives. The police think a local gang might be responsible for the recent attack…" Immediately, she got her phone out and called Fei Long and gave him the details from the news report.

"I don't understand. We didn't find anything that night?" Fei Long couldn't believe it.

"There must have been a clue that we missed. I should have searched that box they were holding myself!" Chun Li felt angry she missed another crime. She was determined to find out who was sending her the letters and why.
