Higham Park. Kent, Kingdom of England. December 1, 1539.

When I awoke the next day, I realized that something was off immediately. Instead of my shitty air mattress that I had to sleep on because our beds had been sold to pay for mom's drinking habit. The bed that I was in was a very comfortable feather bed with pillows and sheets. As I slowly got up out of the bed and to my feet, the next thing I realized that the room I was in was not mine. The foundations and decor were something right out of Tudor England. There were no lamps, no air conditioning, no TV or electronics. There was however, a small writing desk with a mirror on it. I went over and slowly picked up the mirror and was shocked to see it was not my own reflection; but that of a young Torrence Coombs. I ain't trying to sound gay, but he is a handsome man if ever there was one.

I quickly stepped back and tried to get control of my nerves. The first thought that went through my mind was that this had to be some kind of weed induced dream. I proceeded to pinch myself, as well as splash my face with water from a bucket in the corner of the room. It was no use as nothing changed; I was still in the same room, in the same body. I barely had a moment to catch my breath when I heard a couple of sharp knocks on the door.

"Master Thomas, are you awake?" a feminine voice in an English accent asked of me.

"Um...yes, I was just dressing myself." I answered as I quickly went to the wardrobe to find some clothes. When I opened it up, i found many articles of men's clothing that would have not been out of place at a Renaissance fair. After sorting my way through the many outfits, I finally found one that looked suitable. I then made my way downstairs and found an middle aged man with a middle aged woman by his side. There were also 2 guys with them; 1 looked a couple years older than me whole the other looked a few years younger.

"Ah Tom, i'm glad to see you awake at last." The man said as he walked over to me and patted me on the shoulders. I had never seen the man before in my life, but he seemed to know me; or rather, who i appeared to be. By the way he touched me, I assumed that he was to be my father in this dream.

"Of course father." I replied with a small grin as I looked at the woman next to him; presumably my mother.

"Even though this is Tom's day, I want you to know that I am proud of all my sons." She said as she kissed me and the other 2 young men on our foreheads.

"Do not fret brother, we're only a mite jealous of you." the older one said with a wink.

"Speak for yourself Thomas, i'm salivating at the thought of being part of the king's household." the younger said with a chuckle.

"Show some humbleness for Christ's sake, John." Thomas shot back as I had no idea what had led me or Tom, to becoming part of the king's household. I didn't even know which king they were talking about.

"Thomas, John. This is not just an honor for your brother, it is for all of us." Father said with annoyance in his voice at watching the 2 squabble. "If Tom makes good in his majesty's service, it could allow him to bring great prestige to the Culpeper name."

As soon as he said the name Culpeper, all the pieces came together for me. I had no idea how...but somehow, i'd been out in the body of Thomas Culpeper had transported into the world of The Tudors. The main thought that buzzed through my head was how in the Sam Hil was I going to survive being in the court of Henry VIII.

Hampton Palace. London, Kingdom of England. Later that afternoon.

It took us about a couple hours, but we managed to make it to Hampton Palace in London. Seeing it on the show wasn't really a big deal, since it was either built in pieces on a set or CGI. To see it in person however, was something else entirely. It was an impressive structure on the outside, but it was even more so on the inside. The place was very luxurious by middle aged standards.

We were escorted by royal guards to the main throne room where I got a good look at King Henry VIII. He looked exactly the way Jonathan Rhys Meyers played him in season 3. The glory days of his youth were behind him and he was beginning to develop into the nasty brute that history remembered him to be. I couldn't let him know how much I loathed him though, so I put on the best fake smile I could and bowed my head.

"Your Majesty, it is an honor to be here." I said as Henry had the ghost of a smile on his face.

"Mr. Culpeper, i'm glad to see you in my court. I need loyal men I can trust to oversee my upkeep; I still remember that glorious Hawk you send to me." He replied as apparently Thomas Culpeper had been a hawker; I'd have to learn all about it in case it came up while I was here.

"The strong king deserves only the strongest bird." I replied as even in his disheveled state, Henry VIII looked like a ferocious bird of prey.
