Chapter 2

(Y/N)'s POV

As I follow Dexter up to his apartment, I get the feeling that I am being watched and the feeling doesn't subside until we get completely into his apartment and then I get another feeling. That feeling is hunger, I can smell the blood in this apartment and can almost pinpoint it to the air conditioning unit that is in the living room. With it being on the scent is stronger. I need to leave as I haven't fed since yesterday evening. I am so desperate that I will need to hunt tonight instead of going through the trouble of finding a hospital employee that I can compel to steal blood for me. The smell is so overwhelming that my eyes change color and veins underneath come out, I have to turn away before he can see it. I quickly tell him that I have to leave and will be back later. As I leave, I can't help but wonder why he has blood hidden in his AC unit and why there is so many different peoples. I know he isn't a vamp, so why else would he have blood. Surely he doesn't bring his work home with him. Looks like I am going to be investigating more than this baby vamp in Miami.

Dexter's POV

As soon as we walk into my apartment she looks directly at my AC unit where I keep my souvenirs. It's like she knows what is behind there. It almost looks like she is starving by the way she's looking at it, the way her eyes changed was strange. She quickly turned around and started deep breathing like she needed to calm down. This woman has just become even more interesting. Does she know that I keep blood there? I show her where she will be staying and she tells me that she will be back later in the night. Where is she going? Where could she be going? What secrets is she hiding? I need to make sure she doesn't know my secret.

(Y/N)'s POV

As I stalk the streets of Miami for a quick meal, I think of how much I hate doing this anymore. I do miss the chase but I have been trying to change from my old ways. Too bad I can't just magic some blood and I am not degrading myself by drinking animal blood, plus who knows what these animals have been eating, the same going for the humans too. Going into a local club, I start my game of cat and mouse. I lock eyes with this man who seems too interested in the girl who is too drunk to even walk anymore. That is my target, he will not be taking advantage of anyone but he will learn a lesson that he wills never forget and he won't be able to tell anyone. I will make sure he will never prey on girls again.

As I walk up to the bar to order a drink, I act really drunk to catch his attention. As the bartender makes my drink, he locks eyes with me and I know that I have him. I sit at the bar waiting for him to walk over and he does. I finish my drink and he offers to buy me a new one. We introduce ourselves, I could careless about what his name is, I'm just starving. After a while, I tell him that I am going home and walk away. I can feel him following me. As I walk outside, I find the longest and darkest alley to go down. That's when he says, "A girl in your condition shouldn't be going down dark alleys alone, who know what might happen to you." I start acting scared as if he can hurt me the closer he gets. When we are almost nose to nose and he thinks he has me backed into the wall, that is when I make my move. I shove him into the other side of the alley and push him against the wall and hold him to where he can't even touch the ground. I hear his heart rate speed up and the terror on his face excites me. That is when I bite into the flesh of his neck, I drink just enough to make him weak. That is when I compel him by saying, "You thought you could take advantage of drunk girls, well not anymore. After tonight, you will never even think about touching another girl. After tonight, you will live your life in solitude because every time you think about women you will think of me and the feeling you are feeling right now. That terror will follow you with every step out of your house and every thought of women. You will forget what happened tonight until you think of women, but you will not be able to tell anyone of what happened. You will tell anyone who asks what happened to your neck that an animal attacked you on your way home. Now run."

As he runs off, I feel satiated. That is when I feel like someone is watching me again, but the eyes feel familiar. That is when I smell him, Dexter.
