Hi, everyone! Welcome to Book II of the Mizuki series. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did while writing it. Please feel free to review, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia or any of its characters. Mizuki, however, is my own creation.
Let's start with the story, shall we?*
Chapter 24
Meanwhile…
Facing off against the Villain in his straitjacket was done with much caution and uncertainty. The Villain that stood before them was unfazed to go off against two future pro heroes. Instead, the threatening aura that seeped out from his figure was intimidating.
Katsuki stood ready to go off against the Villain, even without any permission to fight. The moment they received the message from Mandalay, they both prepared to fight the Villain in hopes to get past him until the second message came through.
"Stop making so much noise in my head!" Katsuki snarled as he charged straight towards the Villain in front of them. The straitjacket Villain didn't move and merely activated his Quirk, his blade like teeth shooting towards the male in a flash.
Shoto slammed his right leg onto the ground, an ice wall defending against the blades. The ice wall protected Katsuki from the sudden onslaught, the ash blonde spiky haired twin glaring at the divided hair coloured teen.
"Don't go rushing carelessly into anything!" Shoto snapped at the teen, only adding fuel to his fire. They were in a tight pinch and Katsuki's reckless acting wasn't helping their situation any better either.
"I hate to follow… I have to do my job…" The Villain moaned as he held himself in the air, his blade-like teeth stuck within the ice that Shoto shot out. The terrain and trees surrounding the wall was frosted up, the atmosphere turning chilly.
"Did you hear that earlier? She said you're being targeted!" Shoto told the teen who practically seethed in anger. Shoto frowned deeply, the boy on his back still unconscious from the gas and adding to his distress.
"That damn Deku did something, I just know it. Saying 'fight' then 'don't fight'! HUH?!" Katsuki snarled and jumped past the ice wall, left arm pulled back. "I don't give a damn what anyone says!" He was about to attack but the blades shot out towards him once again, Shoto shooting out more ice to stop the onslaught.
"It's not just you! For some reason Mizuki is also being targeted!" Shoto pointed out, his chest giving a squeeze at his own words. Mizuki was in trouble. He could feel the urge to get back to the camp as soon as possible and make sure that she was alright and out of harm's way.
"Shut up! I know! Why the hell do you think I want to murder this guy and get going already!" Katsuki snapped back, a gleam of panic flashing in his crimson orbs. "That stupid Fabric Conditioner probably got herself into a stupid situation and I'll have to save her ass again!"
"He's good at using the terrain with his Quirk. Looks like he's got a lot of experience," Shoto's voice rang in his ears as crimson orbs narrowed. The Villain moved around using his Quirk with ease, his teeth shooting out towards the ground to help him manoeuvre towards the boys.
"Even though he just looks like some scrawny small fry! You bastard!" Katsuki cursed at the male, his hand palms pulled back to prepare for an attack. He, however, didn't move as he watched the Villain come out above the trees, teeth extended.
"Show me…your flesh…"
He was starting to work on Katsuki's nerves, his right arm pulled back as sparks appeared in his hand. He was making light of them and he didn't like that one bit. He was going to blow this male and his annoying Quirk to smithereens.
"If you use any large flames around here and the fire spreads, we'll be surrounded by flames and everyone will die. Do you get it?" Shoto snapped towards the angered male, the boy clenching his fists.
"Shut up! I know!"
Shoto glanced backwards, his brows knitting together. Even if we try to retreat, there's gas. They're obviously trying to drive us into a corner. Bakugo isn't helping the situation either. Shoto thought, his lips pressing together.
Now that we know what they're target is, we're going to have to think smart about this entire situation. Mizuki should be back at the camp with Aizawa Sensei. I'll have to make sure that I get Bakugo back to the camp. Shoto frowned deeply.
"Flesh… Piece of meat… Flesh!" Moonfish assaulted the boys once more, sending more of his blade-teeth towards them. Some of them started to pierce the ice wall that Shoto created, the boy adding more ice to stop the attack.
"I can't get near him, damn it! The only thing I can do is blast him with everything I've got!" Katsuki thought, a part of him starting to become desperate. He needed to get back to the camp. He needed to get back to his sister.
"You can't!"
"If the trees burn, just cover them with ice right after!" Katsuki countered, the other boy starting to work on his nerves. Didn't he get it? they needed to get rid of this Villain and get back to where Mizuki was.
"The blast will impair my vision, too! What'll happen if I can't stop all of it?! Our opponent has the advantage in both number of moves and distance!" Shoto told the male and Katsuki gritted his teeth in frustration.
There was an enormous rumbling that shook the ground, the sound of trees breaking and the earth shattering reaching their ears. Their eyes widened as the saw the dust and debris that flew from whatever that approached them.
"There! I can see ice!" A faint voice followed and the teens shifted their gazes towards a moving figure that ran away from the shadowing attack. The Villain glanced backwards, his attention briefly averted away from his target.
"Bakugo! Todoroki!" Shoji called, his figure coming into view, his eyes wide with panic. "One of you, please-Make some light!" Their eyes widened as the Villain went to attack Shoji, his blade teeth shooting towards him.
The Villain was crushed beneath a monstrous dark paw, a roar following soon after. Tokoyami was revealed, his Dark Shadow out of control. He was struggling against his Quirk, trying his best to control it but it was no use.
Shoji continued to run away from the onslaught, Izuku's face popping up from behind him as he was held onto. "Kacchan!" Izuku called towards the ash blonde male, Katsuki's blood boiling when he saw the blur of green.
"Shoji and Midoriya? And…Tokoyami?!"
"Hurry up and make light! Tokoyami is out of control!" Shoji told the two males and Shoto frowned. He let the boy off his shoulders as Dark Shadow continued with his indiscriminate attacks and his eyes narrowed onto the male.
"Alright, I'll use my flames-""Wait, idiot," Katsuki said, holding out his hand to stop Shoto from advancing. Katsuki's eyes were glued towards the Villain that slowly pushed himself up using his own Quirk.
"Flesh… Piece of meat… It's no good… I can't allow it… I'm the only one who's allowed to look at a cross-section of those kids… Don't steal them from me…!" Moonfish exclaimed, releasing his Quirk towards Dark shadow.
"Don't beg, Small Fry!" Dark Shadow roared at the male as he caught him in a large dark paw. He tightened his grip, the blade teeth that went through the shadow creaking before it was cleanly broken.
"Look…" Katsuki said, a trail of sweat running down the side of his face and a smirk was plastered on his lips. He watched as Dark Shadow smashed the male through several trees before throwing him to the side, the Villain falling to the ground with a sick thud.
"I haven't had enough fun yet!" Dark Shadow roared and grew larger. His eyes set upon the group of students as just as he was about to attack, Katsuki and Shoto appeared. Each one held their own source of fire, Dark Shadow fading away.
Tokoyami breathed heavy, Dark Shadow returning to his normal size once more. Beads of sweat travelled down the side of the boy's face as he de-activated his Quirk completely. He was in control once more, his consciousness enough to keep the darkness away.
"I'm a bad match-up for you."
"Sorry… Thanks for saving me…" Tokoyami replied, briefly closing his eyes. Shoto said nothing, he merely stared at where the opponent lay. It all happened in an instant, the opponent they were barely able to defend against was easily overpowered by the teen.
"Tokoyami, are you alright? You did a good job doing what we asked," Shoji told the male who was staring at the ground, his eyes gleaming with guilt. They told him not to resist and to follow them, the uncertainty of the plan evaporating when he understood the goal.
"Sorry, Shoji… You too, Midoriya… I was too immature. I let my anger take over and released Dark Shadow. The influence of the darkness and my anger spurred on that guy. In the end, it got so strong that I couldn't hold back and ended up hurting Shoji," Tokoyami said, gritting his teeth as his hands trembled.
"We can leave that for later. That's what you would say, right?" Shoji said, Tokoyami's eyes widening as he looked at the male in shock. He found two pairs of kind eyes and a small smile from Midoriya caused all of the dread to fade away.
"Oh, right! We confirmed that the targets of the Villains are Kacchan and Mi-chan," Izuku informed the teen, Tokoyami's eyes widening in surprise at the news. The Villains were targeting the students?
"Bakugo and Mizuki? Are they trying to kill them? Why?" Tokoyami asked, Izuku's eyes twitching at the question. He had a good idea why they were targeting the twins. Unfortunately, it was only his suspicions and if he said anything now, it would reveal the secret they had been trying to withhold.
Deku… He's hiding something! Katsuki thought, knowing the tell-tale of when the male was lying. He recalled the interaction they had the previous day. There was something they weren't telling him and it was starting to piss him off.
"I don't know. Anyway, I think the camp is the safest place since there are two pros, Vlad King and Aizawa Sensei, there. Mi-chan had supplementary classes so she should already be safe," Izuku stated and Tokoyami nodded.
"I see. So now our mission is to escort Bakugo there, huh?"
"But at the clearing, the Pussycats are still fighting. Going back on the path would bring us to the attention of the villains, and we'd lose time. We should cut straight across," Izuku planned, Katsuki's blank expression showing as they discussed everything as if he wasn't even there.
"We don't know how many villains there are. We might come across one suddenly," Shoto spoke up as he held onto the unconscious boy once again. They needed to think about all the possible scenarios that could come forth.
"We can use Shoji's search ability and we have Todoroki-kun's freezing ability, and if Tokoyami's okay with it, an invincible Dark Shadow with built-in controls… Honestly, with this group, we would probably even go up against All Might," Izuku concluded.
"What's with you guys?!" Katsuki finally snapped out of his dumb folded state and growled at the group. He was standing right here and they were acting as if his opinion didn't matter. They were all following their own stupid plans that he never agreed to.
"You walk in the middle."
"Don't protect me, you scum!" Katsuki snarled at them, the group unfazed by the male's outburst. He gritted his teeth in anger. He could do it all by himself! He didn't need their help. There bastards were underestimating him.
"Let's go!"
"Don't ignore me!"
"Make sure you keep up."
"Don't tell me what to do!"
Despite Katsuki's outbursts and rebelling, he reluctantly followed and walked on. He didn't agree to go with them, they were merely in his way. He was planning on getting back to the camp with or without their help.
Get everyone back safely. If we do that, then we win… Izuku thought, eyes gleaming with determination. He wasn't planning on letting his pitiful and injured state stop him from keeping everyone safe.
At the Cabin…
Iida, Ojiro, Koda and Mineta arrived inside the building and found the rest of the students at the supplementary classes not long after their encounter with Aizawa.
"Huh? It's Mizuki-kun and Bakugo-kun they're after? Why?!" Iida exclaimed, his face laced with worry and everyone mimicking his expression.
"B-But Mizuki should be-Huh? W-Where is Mizuki?" Mineta stuttered as he looked around in the room, the ash blonde female nowhere to be seen. Eijiro felt his entire body run cold at the news, his heart stopping for a few seconds.
"We don't know! She said she went to the bathroom and she hasn't come back yet. Neither has Aizawa Sensei," Kaminari said, his mouth running dry as realization hit him full force and dread filled his entire being.
"Don't tell me…"
"Vlad Sensei!" Eijiro slammed his hands onto the table. "You heard Mandalay's telepath, right? My friends are being targeted. Please let me go find them and made sure they're alright!" He asked. He was filled with panic and concern. He had a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach that the reason behind that was because she went after her brother.
"No."
"Why not?!"
"Sir, if we don't know how many villains there are, then wouldn't it be better to have as many people fighting as we can?" Iida suggested, his thoughts falling in order logically despite the growing concern.
"Hey, are you planning on fighting the villains?" Mineta asked, his face filled with disbelief. This entire thing was starting to turn out like USJ. Everything was turned on their head and now they wanted to go out and fight against villains again?
"Yeah, that's right. Even Aizawa Sensei said to fight, didn't he?" Eijiro countered the question with his own. He was restless and filled with angst. The thought of Mizuki being in danger made his heart squeeze painfully.
"That's for self-defence. It was so that everyone could get back here," Vlad King replied stoically, his arms still crossed over his chest. He wasn't going to budge. His duty was to keep them safe and he refused to do anything less.
The sound of a door opening and closing had everyone blinking in surprise. "Did someone enter? Do you think Aizawa Sensei came back…?" Ojiro asked as he glanced towards his fellow students with hopeful eyes.
"Perfect timing. I'll go ask him directly-""No wait," Vlad King stopped Eijiro from marching over towards the door. They looked at the pro hero with raised eyebrows before their eyes shifted towards the doors where a shadow moved.
"It's not him!" Vlad King exclaimed and tackled Eijiro out of the way as a wave of blue flames burst through the door. Iida managed to push back a few students to keep them from the immense heat and destruction of the flames.
Vlad King stood protectively in front of the students as the Villain stepped inside, Mineta exclaiming in shock. "That guy… Is he the villain that was defeated earlier?!" Mineta asked, pointing at the male who charged his right hand with blue flames.
"You're too slow!"
Vlad King was quick. He grabbed the Villain by his face and slammed him into the wall, the concrete cracking beneath the pressure. In a flash, Vlad King activated his blood Quirk and encased the Villain in hardened blood.
"Blood Control… It's so strong!"
"You're pushing hard into a place like this without thinking? You're really underestimating us!" Vlad King snapped at the Villain, his grip tight and his eyes narrowed. Dabi was unfazed by the male's aggression.
"And why wouldn't we?" Dabi smirked, eyes gleaming brightly. "You're acting exactly like I thought you would. You all lost the minute you lost the initiative. The pinnacle of hero education, U.A., and the Symbol of Peace, All Might. The two most trusted figures of hero society, gathered together."
"If multiple incidents keep putting that trust into question, then don't you think that will shake society as a whole? Sloppy management that keeps allowing attacks to get through, and in the end, being so weak as to allow students to be stolen away by a criminal group," he said.
"Bastard, are you saying Bakugo and Mizuki-"
"-is going to be kidnapped by you?!"
"Stop messing around!"
Eijiro growled, his arms hardening, Iida glaring as he joined in and Kaminari charging his electricity. The students of class 1-A all stepped into a stance, prepared to take the Villain head-on without an ounce of fear.
Blue flames appeared on Dabi's hand, body and then head as he activated his Quirk. "Look, there are so few of us, and we're driving you into a corner," Dabi said, his smirk turning into a sick grin and Vlad King roared as he pulled back a fist.
BAM!
"It's no use, Vlad!" Aizawa kicked the Villain solidly against his head, the students shouting in joy. Aizawa wrapped the male up in his scarf, his foot slamming into the body. "This guy's just trying to stir things up. He won't tell us anything. Besides, look-he's a fake. One came earlier too," he said, the male turning into a pile of mud.
"A fake… Is that one of the villains' Quirks?" Iida asked, the thought of them having a Quirk that could clone them, quite alerting. It could increase their numbers greatly and it would only mean more trouble for them all.
"Eraser, what were you doing?"
"Sorry, I was planning to give orders allowing the students to fight, but I ended up taking care of Kota. Take him for me. I'm going out to the front lines. Vlad, I'm counting on you to keep defending this place," Aizawa said and was quirk to want to rush off.
"Wait, Eraser! We still don't know how much they'll come at us."
"You'll be fine by yourself. Look at this fake. Both times it was just one like this. I think they're coming strong at us because they want to keep our attention here since we're pros. It's their strategy to make up for the small number of people they sent," Aizawa pointed out.
"What about Mizuki?!" Eijiro exclaimed and Aizawa's eyes travelled towards the redhead. "She should've returned already! Moreover, if there are only a few, then there's even more reason for me-"
"Yes! Nothing can beat strength in numbers! We can assist Mizuki-kun and Bakugo-kun-""No! If they're trying to keep the pros back, that means they're after the students. Bakugo and Mizuki's just two of them, but they might be after others, as well," he said and their faces fell.
"We're still losing by a lot in terms of information. For the time being, we'll win by having everyone stay safe and sound. As for Mizuki…" Aizawa hesitated on his words, his frown deepening and his eyes darkening with determination.
"Leave her to me."
Elsewhere…
"Uraraka-san! Tsuyu-chan!"
The group of male students rushed over towards the two, a woman running off into the shadows. The two girls had light scrapes on them, eyes still wide and adrenaline pumping through them after facing off against a Villain.
"Who was that woman just now?" Todoroki asked as he came to a halt, the boy he held still unconscious. Shoji still had Izuku in his grip, the injured male still hanging onto the fumes of his own adrenaline rush.
"A villain. A crazy one."
"Uraraka-san, you're injured!" Izuku exclaimed in worry, the cut wound on her left arm clearly visible. The clothing was torn and stained in red from the bleeding that luckily stopped a while ago.
"It's fine. I can still totally walk. Anyway, you're one to talk, Deku-kun, you're-""This isn't the time to stand around and talk. Let's just go," Shoji interrupted the brown-haired girl. They all had a feeling of urgency to get back to the camp.
"Anyway, I'm just glad you're okay." Izuku averted his eyes as a gleam of guilt passed through them. He couldn't keep them from getting hurt. Maybe if he was faster? Maybe if he didn't injure himself like this, he would've been able to help sooner?
"I know! Come with us! Right now, we're protecting Kacchan as we head back to the camp," Izuku suggested. If they had two more students joining them, they'll have more possible strategies if they were to encounter any possible Villains. This could work.
"Ribbit? You're protecting Bakugo-chan?" Tsuyu asked, her index finger coming up to her chin as she tilted her head. She glanced at Uraraka who's brows furrowed in confusion. "Where is Bakugo-chan?"
"Huh? What are you saying?" Izuku gave them a smile at the silly statement. "Kacchan is right behind…" Izuku's words died down in his throat as he stared at the emptiness behind him, his partners feeling the same iciness creep into their veins.
During the entire emergency, no one let their guard down. But no one noticed the disappearance of the ash blonde teen. The quietness was due to his flaring temper and didn't cause any of them to think of it as out of place.
"The boy you're talking about… I took him with my magic," a voice spoke up, everyone's eyes shooting towards the newcomer. The Villain stood gracefully on a tree branch, crane in one hand and a mask covering his facial features.
"This talent isn't someone who should be on the hero's side. We'll take him to a stage where he can shine more," Mr. Compress spoke, his right hand tossing a small marble-like object before twirling it in-between his fingers.
"Give him back!"
"Give him back? That's a strange thing to say. Bakugo-kun doesn't belong to anyone. He's his own person, you egoist," Mr. Compress stated, his tone ending in a snap. Typical hero to think that everything belonged to them.
"Give him back!"
"Move!" Shoto shouted and jumped forward, his right leg slamming into the ground as he activated his Quirk. Ice shot out from the ground and shot towards the Villain who was unfazed by the sudden action.
He jumped into the sky, dodging the attack with ease. "We simply want to show him that the path he's on now with its fanatical values is not the only path he can take. Kids these days are made to choose their paths based on their values," he said, one hand holding his top hat as he landed on another tree branch.
"It's not just Bakugo! Tokoyami's not here, either!" Shoji exclaimed as he glanced backwards, the presence of the other male also missing. Everyone's eyes widened in horror.
"To go out of your way to talk to us… You're underestimating us!" Shoto snapped at the male, eyes glaring and teeth gritted together. This was bad. He needed to think of a plan to get them back and fast.
He couldn't let the Villains get his classmates, more so, Katsuki. He wasn't planning on returning to the camp and telling Mizuki that he was unable to save her brother. He was getting him back no matter what.
"I was originally an entertainer, you know. It's a bad habit of mine. Taking Tokoyami-kun was improvising on my part." He continued to play with one marble until two suddenly appeared between his fingers.
"Moonfish… The man with 'Blade-Tooth'… He may not look it, but he's a cutthroat on death row whose appeal was dismissed. With a violent nature that trampled that cutthroat down one-sidedly. I decided that he was good too," Mr. Compressed mused.
"You bastard! Don't take them!"
"Midoriya! Calm down!" Shoji tried to tell the male but Izuku was far from calming down. This Villain got past their defences with ease and managed to snatch up the two males he was determined to protect.
"Uraraka, take this guy!" Shoto said and handed the unconscious male of class 1-B over towards the brown-haired female. She grunted in reply as she took the male, slinging his arm over her shoulder in a way to keep him up.
Shoto jumped, slamming his left foot into the ground and releasing the largest wave of ice towards the Villain. The geyser that he used at the sports festival came back to life, the Villain narrowly dodging the onslaught.
"Sorry, tricks and running away are my only redeeming features!" Mr. Compress called as he floated in the air after jumping away, their eyes widening. "There's no way I'd fight students who are hero candidates." He put the two marbles in one of his pockets and then brought his hand towards his ear.
"Vanguard Action Squad! Targets successfully collected! It was just a short while, but with this, our show has come to a close! As arranged, head to the retrieval point in the next five minutes!" He called over the intercom and then rushed off, away from the students.
"No!"
"Come to a close…? I won't let you get away!" Shoto shouted and ran right after the Villain, the rest of the group following. The poor unconscious male being dragged along. As long as he stayed in their sights, they didn't lose.
"Wait a minute, guys… Did he say targets?" Ochaco asked and swallowed thickly as their eyes travelled towards her. "Mandalay said that they were after Bakugo and Mizuki. If their mission is complete then does that mean…?"
"They got Mizuki."
"No! Wait a minute! Mi-chan is back at the camp! She's with Aizawa Sensei and Vlad Sensei! They wouldn't let her out of their sights!" Izuku tried to excuse, his heart rate rising and breathing becoming difficult.
"It can be that they couldn't get Mizuki-chan and the took Tokoyami-chan in her place… I don't want to think that they managed to get to her too," Tsuyu said and Izuku felt dread fill him as he was chilled to the bone.
If Mizuki was the Villains' prime target then they wouldn't be ending their mission so soon. There were too many risks that had to be taken into account if they only took Bakugo to lure her out. She would have the support of the heroes.
"No… No, no, no! We need to get him! We need to get them back!" Izuku shouted in panic as realization hit him full force. He didn't want to believe it. She was supposed to be safe back at the camp. There was no way that she was captured too, right?
Shoto ran faster, his legs moving at full speed and his teeth gritted through the painful squeeze in his chest. The thought of Mizuki being in the clutches of the Villains had his entire being scream at him to save her.
Mizuki… She already went through enough with her brother, the new Quirk and her friend disappearing. She was barely holding on as it was and now this? No, he refused. He would get her back! He would protect her! He would protect those gleaming crimson orbs and bright smile.
Deeper in the forest…
Two of the villainous figures lured in the shadows, blue flames lighting the night sky and giving them a path to walk on. Their destination was in arms reach, their goal complete. The plan didn't work accordingly but they succeeded.
"Hey, Dabi! Did you hear the radio? I'm so pumped! Mr. Compress already succeeded! Took him long enough! I was getting sleepy!" Twice exclaimed, waggling next to the dark-haired male who walked nonchalantly with his hands pocketed.
"Don't say that. He did a good job. Now, we just have to wait for everyone to get back here," Dabi spoke, his facial expression stoic as he walked on. He still had a visible bruise on his cheek, the blood that ran from his mouth long since dried.
"That's not right! You're right."
"This place was supposed to be hard to find because of the wall of flames and gas, but the gas was cleared away. Things never go according to plan, huh?" Dabi mused, a gleam of irritation flashing in his blue eyes.
"You're right Things are going as planned!" Twice said, his head cocking to the side. "You made the correct judgement to leave that photo there. Are you sure it was wise?" Dabi glanced back at the male and then smirked.
"It's merely a present for the heroes. Something to remind them of their failure," Dabi spoke and felt a pair of unwanted eyes on his figure. He turned towards a nearby bush, eyes narrowing as he slowly took a step forward.
"Hey, Dabi!" Twice called, his hand shooting up in the air to draw his attention. "Speaking of which, this has nothing to do with anything, but is it okay not to call the Nomu guy? You said it'd only react to your voice or something, right? It's very important!"
"Oh, yeah." Dabi turned away from the bush. "You asked me why I didn't add it to the battle, right?" Dabi asked, walking onwards and completely forgetting about the ruffling leaves. He merely brushed it off as the night wind.
"Be grateful! Bow before me!"
"A monster specifically for me from Shigaraki. It's probably killed at least one person by now," Dabi said and clicked a device in his left hand to call it back. He didn't care much for it and merely send it out to cause destruction.
"Huh? No one else is here yet?" Toga asked as she came skipping through the bushes, a big grin plastered on her lips, cheeks flushed. Her golden eyes were practically gleaming, her finger splaying with her bangs.
"You, lunatic, did you get the blood? How many people's worth?" Dabi asked in a stiff tone, not caring about the girl's behaviour in the slightest. The only necessity at the moment was that she also completed her part.
"One person's worth!"
"Just one?!" Twice exclaimed, his one hand shooting up in the air in exasperation before he pointed at the girl accusingly. "Weren't you told to get at least three?!" He asked, the girl not bothered by the question in the least.
"It can't be helped. I thought I was going to be killed," she replied. Right when she was getting to the good part of sucking blood out of her new friends, more people arrived. She picked survival far over the chances of getting more blood.
"Anyway… Toga-chan, aren't you a little too happy?" Twice asked, putting her face in a frame that he made with his fingers. "Was there anything to make you depressed?" Twice asked, hands cupping his chin.
Toga giggled and twirled around, hands cupping her face as the flush deepened. "I made some friends and found a boy I'm interested in," she sang happily, eyes shining brightly with happiness as it rushed through her.
"You mean me?! Sorry, can't! I like you too!"
"You're too loud." Dabi grumbled out as he watched the duo with unimpressed eyes. "Shut up…" He stopped talking when he felt a disturbance in the air. He turned around, eyes narrowing onto something that was coming right their way. It moved quick, flying through the air.
There was a shout as it crashed into the ground, Mr. Compress revealed with three males on top of him. They pushed him onto the ground, smoke briefly covering the entire area before the three teens were revealed.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey! I know these kids! Who are they?!" Twice exclaimed, his mask showing a mixture of confusion and shock. Dabi's eyes narrowed on the figures while Toga's eyes widened, her smile brightening at the sight of one familiar face.
"Mister, get out of the way," Dabi spoke as he held out his hand, blue flames spiralling around the arm. The male replied with a grunt as he turned his own body into a marble-like object right before the flames burst forward.
His reaction was fast, Shoto barely able to get out of the way on time, Shoji and Izuku not that lucky. They each had an arm burnt from the heat, their cries alerting Shoto. He called out towards them, his instincts quickly moving towards a figure that jumped him.
"Faces from Shigaraki's kill list! That little beat-up boy and you! They weren't, though!" Twice stated and pulled out his razor-sharp measuring tape to attack. Shoto was faster, shooting ice towards him in a flash that he nearly dodged.
"That's hot!"
Izuku chocked back a cry at the pain of his scorched arms and felt the hair at the back of his neck stand up. He barely dodged the razor-sharp needle that cut some of his scruffy hair, a blonde female coming into view.
"I'm Toga, Izuku-kun!" She introduced herself and then jumped up onto Izuku, the boy falling onto the ground with a gasp. He gritted his teeth, his body nearing its end and refused to listen to him when he wanted to get her off, leaving him to merely glare at her.
"I thought so earlier, too…" His eyes widened when she pulled out a pocket knife and gave him a crazed grin. "…but you'd be cooler if you bled more, Izuku-kun!" She yelled out, her hand pulled back to strike.
"Midoriya!"
Shoji threw the girl aside as he came to Izuku's rescue, their eyes glaring at the crazed girl. She spun in the air, feet digging into the ground as she gave the duplicate armed male a deadly glare. They could feel the malice come off her in waves.
"If that how it is? Are you going to get in the way? You're not my type at all, but I'll cut you anyway," she threatened with a deep scowl plastered on her face. The two boys swallowed thickly, eyes staring the girl down.
Shoto wasn't off any better as he tried to fight against Twice by shooting out his ice, the male easily dodging the attacks. "Good job! This is easy! Give me all you've got! Stop messing around!" Twice yelled and cut through the ice with his measuring tape.
"What's with this guy?" Shoto murmured beneath his breath, eyes narrowing onto the male. He didn't have time to play with this idiot.
Mr. Compress appeared once more, wincing at the pain in his shoulder. "Ow. I can't believe you flew so far to chase after me. Your ideas are far out!" He said as he walked over towards Dabi, brushing past the discomfort.
"Where's Bakugo?"
"Of course…" Mr. Compress put his right hand inside his pocket to fish out the two marble-like objects inside. He blinked behind the mask in surprise, his pocket was empty. How was that possible?
Shoji noticed the male's actions, his brows furrowing. "Midoriya, Todoroki, we're running away! I'm sure now based on what he just did-I don't know what your Quirk is, but inside that right pocket of yours that you kept flaunting were these-Tokoyami and Bakugo, right, entertainer?" Shoji asked, holding two marble-like objects in his hands.
To add further to his victory, they didn't say anything about handing over Mizuki meaning that they never captured her. The chances of her being safe was reassuring to the group, Izuku's face lighting up with relief.
"Shoji-kun!"
"Oh, that didn't take you very long! As expected of someone with six arms! You're good at feeling around!" Mr. Compress complimented as he watched the pair start to run away. Shoto put up an ice wall and made sure to join the other two.
"Moron-""No, wait," Mr. Compress stopped Dabi's need to use his Quirk. Dabi narrowed his eyes onto the male while the trio moved to the side to avoid the Nomu that suddenly appeared in front of them only to have their path intercepted by a purple mist.
"This guy…was at USJ…the warp…"
"It's been five minutes since the signal. Let's go, Dabi," Kurogiri spoke up through the mist as he opened up multiple warps for each of the Villains. He was hasty because Shigaraki was losing his patience.
Villain name: Kurogiri
Quirk: Warp gate
"Sorry, Izuku-kun, I'll see you later!" Toga chirped happily as she waved towards the green haired male and stepped through the warp. Twice stretched out before he too jumped through the warp, Mr. Compress also on his way.
"Wait. Our goal is not yet-""Oh, that? They seemed so happy that they rushed out here, so I thought I'd give them a present," the male said and drew the attention of the trio. His words made their minds reel. Why wasn't he panicking? They saved Bakugo and Tokoyami so why weren't they resisting?
"It's a habit, one of the basics of magic. When I flaunt something…" Mr. Compress brought a hand up to his mask and the other one on his hat as he showed his face. "…it's because there's something I don't want you to see," he said and stuck his tongue out to reveal two marble-like objects, two small figures revealed inside.
"N-No way…!"
He snapped his fingers, the two marble objects in Shoji's hand popping out to reveal shards of Shoto's ice that he compressed. They watched as the ice shards fell to the ground with a thump, their hearts also sinking away.
"That's right. During the freezing attack, I prepared dummies and put them in my right pocket," he said as the trio charged towards him. He was unfazed as he put back his hat and mask, stepping backwards into the mist.
"If you discover that what was in my right hand was in my right pocket, then of course you'd happily rush over," he said, Izuku shouting at the male. He gave a small bow towards the trio. "And now, that's all from me-"
There was a blast that came out of nowhere, blasting off the mask of the villain. The action had him coughing the two marble objects out, Dabi's eyes narrowing when he realized that there was a student behind one of the bushes.
Shoji, Shoto and Izuku went to jump to catch the two objects, Izuku's body finally giving in and causing him to fall onto the ground. It left the two students to reach out towards the objects, each determined to grab one. Shoji was lucky enough to catch Tokoyami and Shoto reached out more…
Miss.
The marble was grabbed by Dabi, a sick smirk forming onto his lips. Shoto glared at the male as he mockingly held the marble object in front of him, the boy's body moving passed him because of his momentum.
"That's sad… Shoto Todoroki…"
Those words. Those words cut through Shoto like a knife as he crashed into the ground. He could feel the steel gaze of the male on him. The meaning behind those words felt much deeper than that one moment.
"Confirm it now. Release this."
"My show's been ruined!" Mr. Compress angrily yelled and moved inside the warp, his hands snapping as he released his Quirk. Tokoyami appeared above Shoji as he was released from his confinements, the multiple arms managing to catch him.
Meanwhile, Katsuki was also released from his confinements. The instant he was back, he felt a pair of hands clutch the back of his throat, his instinct screaming at him. Those hands… If he moved one inch, he'll be killed.
"No problem."
"Kacchan!" Izuku called out towards him as he ran at full speed to get to him. Katsuki's eyes were wide, teeth gritted as the grip around his neck tightened. He looked at Izuku's pitiful state as he rushed over to save him as he was taken into the warp.
"Don't come, Deku!"
Katsuki vanished through the warp as Izuku tried to jump after him but crashed into the ground with a grunt. He was immediately up, eyes darting back to where the warp once was to only find an empty space.
Katsuki was gone.
The forest continued to burn as blue flames raged on and only added more grief to the students who stood there. They merely stared at the damage, eyes wide as their paralyzed bodies came to realize what happened.
Izuku let out choking sounds as he tried to find anything to say, anything to do but it only ended up in his yelling out at the top of his lungs in absolute defeat. Everything came crashing down as he fell onto the ground, head slamming first into the surface.
They lost.
Aizawa rushed inside the forest once again after he helped another group of students get back to the camp. Most of the students were unconscious from being exposed to the gas, the effects still clutching their bodies even after it cleared up.
Most of the students were already back at the camp as they waited for emergency services that Vlad King called for. However, he still had to find the students he was looking for and the more time passed, the more he feared.
He coughed from a wave of smoke that sunk down upon him and waved the blackness away from him. He looked around, eyes searching for any possible students before something came into view in the corner of his eyes.
He moved through the dense smoke and blinked a few times when he saw something lay on the ground. He kneeled down and saw a piece of paper beneath what seemed like a half melted and broken phone.
He couldn't make out what type of phone it was, not knowing who might've been the owner either. He could only hope that it wasn't one of the students and if it was, that they would be alright. It might've fallen out of someone's pocket-
His entire body became cold when he turned over the piece of paper, his eyes wide and a shaken gasp escaping his lips. It was a picture. Half of it was burnt but the other half was perfectly intact. It was that half that everything came crashing down on him.
The Villains… They had Mizuki.
