I don't own any of this. Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon.
A group of clouds have covered up the hot blazing sun, giving a brief period of shade to the people enjoying a day out at the South West State Fair.
A funtime for all as they came here to see thrilling rodeos, eat tasty foods, play fun games, go on fast rides, and get up close to both cowboys and their animals.
Today was especially special for it's the last day of the fair. Once it hits seven, it'll be time to pack things up and head on out to the open road, where they'll wait till next year for the fair to arrive again.
The only ones who weren't attending the fun fair activities were the Loud family; as they already had their fill of fun yesterday. Now it was time for them to head off on the road once again, where this time; they'll be traveling down route 66 for Rita's newspaper collum.
Seeing them off was the fair's top cowboy and Rita's old camp crush; Brad Plaid. "Glad that you came on down to our little fair for your collum."
"It was a great pleasure Brad. It was also really nice seeing you again." Rita exclaimed with high happiness for not only was it a good collum that she written, but it's always great to reunite with old friends from long ago.
"And again. I am so terribly sorry on the whole sabotaging your rodeo. Believe me; I am not usually like that." Lynn is very much embarrassed on that whole incident, poor Brad could've gotten seriously hurt if things went south.
"No problem partner. Jealousy can make a man do reckless things." Take it from him. He's seen many cases of jealousy making people do all sorts of crazy things during his travels.
"Thank you for not being mad, and again; I'm so terribly sorry for doing it." Having made his peace, Lynn heads on into the RV, where the kids are all hanging about, ready to hit the road towards their next destination.
"Well; I gotta get going now. I hope that we can reunite sometime in the future Brad."
"Me to Rita." Shaking each other's hands, Rita departs and climbs into the RV, pausing a bit as she reach for the door.
"Make sure to give your horse some extra carrots."
"Don't worry. I will." He chuckled before waving her and the rest of her family goodbye.
Shutting the door, while the siblings waved back at him. The RV starts up and drives out of the parking lot, then into the open road that will lead them to the state highway.
Watching them leave, Brad let's out a series of light chuckles for Rita sure did have a nice, but a very active family.
Turning back towards the fair, he pauses a bit as he found himself looking at a series of large clouds over the horizon. Traveling around with the fair has taught him that when the sky looked like that, a big storm was brewing.
Hopefully it'll be moving away as to not spoil the funtime at the fair.
Driving down the state highway. The siblings all sat around in the RV, entertaining themselves by either watching TV, playing games. Or in Lincoln's case; hang out in his makeshift room, talking to Clyde through facetime.
"So you really saw an actual rodeo?" Clyde questioned in excitement as he had never been to a live rodeo before.
"Sure did Clyde. It may have gone a bit hectic during the show, but everything turned out good at the end." Lincoln must admit. He never thought that his dad would go in as a rodeo clown.
"That's so cool." Admittedly to himself; Clyde didn't know if he is even capable of sitting through a rodeo. Mainly because he is very certain that he would faint if something went wrong; mainly if the bull used its horns on the rider, striking right in a major area of the body.
"It was, but we also joined Brad on stage during his country show. After that; we had a barbecue by the RV, listen to some of Brad's traveling stories, and finally watched a awesome fireworks show. I'm telling you Clyde; this road trip is getting better with each stop we go to." It's just too bad that Dr. Weirdly's Bizarritorium was closed down or that he had unintentionally brought the full wrath of a mummy's curse down on him and the family at the start of the road trip.
"I'm still very amazed that you met the actual president of The United States." That for sure has to be the biggest highlight of Lincoln's trip.
"He definitely knows how to throw a birthday party." Lincoln never would've guessed that he was an absolute wiz at beanbag tossing or a Ace Savvy fan. A great surprise that made Lincoln do a double take, when he announced it.
"So Clyde. How are things back at Royal Woods?"
"Admittedly not the same without you here buddy." Clyde sadly replied, but then let up a small smile. "But it's been mostly fine."
"What do you mean?"
"Well to begin with. We all had a camp out in my backyard, Flip released the new nacho flavored Flipee, which I wouldn't recommend by the way. Let's see what else; oh yes. Gus had 25% off pizza for the summer." That has to be the best part, right besides joining Nana Gayle on shuffleboarding and winning against Scoots and Bernie.
"25% off pizza. I wish that I could've tasted that." Nothing's better than 25% off pizza, other than free ones of course.
"It was tasty, and; um. Hey; is it getting dark over there already?"
"What?" Looking up from his phone, Lincoln now notices that his room has gone slightly dark. Checking out the window, he can clearly see why as dark storm clouds have covered up the sun.
"Looks like we're driving right into a storm." A flash of lighting with the follow up of a low boom of thunder outright confirmed it.
"Oh. I hope your going to be alright." Clyde didn't really like traveling through storms, especially ones with high winds.
"Don't worry Clyde. I'm sure that everything is going to be alright." Right after saying that, Clyde starts to flicker, followed shortly by his facetime being roughly cut off.
With another flash of lighting and the boom of thunder going off, then there came the howling wind.
Lincoln may not be afraid of storms, but a growing anxiety in his gut made him want to head on down to the main area. When he got there, his sisters were all looking out the window to the stormy clouds above the plains, a few of them flinching after several flashes of lighting with some visibility striking the ground.
"Dang. This light show is really lit." Luna has never seen anything like it, other than at rocking concerts.
"You can say it's very electricfying." Luan joked, only to get drowned out by a louder boom of thunder.
"I feel chills." Lucy spoke up as the wind continued to howl.
"You always say that." Lynn dismissed.
"This one's different." She clarified, unflinchingly as a streak of lighting went across the sky in a brilliant light show.
"Most impressive. This seems to be a supercell type storm. We should highly expect to be hit by very strong winds and heavy rains very momentarily, perhaps large hail as well." There's another weather phenomenon Lisa can highly predict, but she wanted to be one hundred percent certain before saying it; as she didn't want to cause any panic under a false alarm.
"Supercell?" Leni repeated in question. "Are the cells in our bodies superheroes?" That would be totally cute.
"No Leni. It's a strong storm." Lori clarified.
As if on cue. The heavy rains began, blurring up the windows, while heavy winds blew hard against the RV, creating a ghost-like cry.
In the front, both Rita and Lynn tried to see through the windshield, even with the window wipers working on full time, the windows remain blurry and with the added wind pushing them to the side of the road. It was clearly becoming dangerous to continue on driving.
Pulling over to the side of the road. Lynn places the RV in park, then released a heavy sigh for they were clearly not going anywhere for awhile.
With nothing else to do, they both went to join up with their kids in the main area. At that point; a majority of them are sitting on the couch, while some are still by the window quietly watching the rain, and Lisa is sitting at the table; looking at her Doppler radar.
"Okay kids. Due to the storm making it very unsafe to drive in. We're going have to hunker down until it passes." Lynn Sr. told them, earning a collective groan from them.
"I know it's awful that we are going to be behind schedule, but it's for are own safety."
"But don't worry kids. This storm shouldn't be lasting too long." Rita reassured. Why she bets that it'll probably be over by a half hour from now.
"But what if the RV tips over?" Luna really didn't like the sound of that gnarly wind outside.
"Don't worry sweetie. I'm very certain that's not going to happen." In truth; Rita is just as fearful of it happening as her daughter, but as a mother; she has to keep her kids calm during a situation such as this.
"Unfortunately mother. It seems that Luna's fear is very likely." Lisa proclaimed with visible uneasiness in her eyes.
"What?" Clenching her hands in worry, Lori for sure did not like the look in Lisa's eyes.
Slowly turning her Doppler radar around to face them, they were all now looking at the brightly colored, jumble mess of this storm. From Lana's perspective, it looked a lot like barf.
However; if there is one thing that greatly stood out amongst this jumbo pile, it's the hook shape that's starting to develop.
This hook shape is the specific thing that Lisa is pointing to in deep dread. "You see this hook shape?"
"Yeah. What about it?" Lynn asked.
"In a strong supercell such as this one, while not always the case. It usually means one thing." Before she could continue on further, alarming beeps cried out on all of their phones.
Checking her's first, Lori felt her body temperature drop down to minus zero upon seeing two words being displayed in a emergency inbox.
"Tornado Warning!"
When the others saw this inbox; everyone went into a full panic. They were stuck in the middle of nowhere with no visible shelter or a ditch to hunker down in, while a tornado is somewhere spinning around, threatening to pick them up and toss them away like one of Lilly's toys or twist the RV like a candy wrapper.
Everyone talked at once with a few audible cries. They only stopped their terrified chattering when Lisa released a loud whistle, earning all of their attention.
"Family. I know that this is a very serious situation that we are all in, but I have anticipated on our likelihoods of us being caught in a sever storm. So I installed a feature that may help us get through this storm." Going up to the front wall, Lisa opens up a compartment and pulled down a switch.
Outside the RV; two drills came out from secret hatches on both sides, then dug themselves deeply into the ground.
The buzzing sounds of the drills reverberated throughout the RV for a couple of seconds, until it came to a instant stop.
"What was that?" Lynn Sr. question.
"That dear father is the titanium drills, I have installed. What they'll do is anchor us down, while the storm goes through its natural course." Lisa explained; feeling rather proud on her overall foresight to built them in.
"So does that mean we're safe?" Lola fearfully asked for that wind is definitely blowing hard now, heck. The rain on the windows is starting to go sideways.
"In theory yes. Just as long it remains as a F0, F1, or F2. It may be able to withstand a direct hit by an F3, but if it's a higher one ranging in from either a F4 or an infamous F5. It wouldn't be pretty. It's also very recommended that we hunker down; as the windows pose as a large threat of imploding." They should hurry; as with the way that rain is going, it's somewhere close by.
"Okay. Everyone head into the bathroom." Rita instructed for it's the only place in the RV that doesn't have any windows.
With no arguments, they all rushed into the bathroom. It was a little cramped in there, but they can very well tolerate it; just as long as the RV remained on the ground.
No one even said anything as they all huddle together, except for slight weeps from both the twins and Lilly. The only other sound that's heard is a low roar that's steadily growing louder; as well as the rain and something else pelting against the RV.
The whole place then started to rock on its springs, earning a few frightful shouts as well as clinging onto each other out of pure instinct.
Meanwhile the roar gets more louder and louder. Up to the point where the air felt heavy, so heavy that a few of their ears popped.
The RV rocks more violently, it honestly felt like that they were slightly moving towards the right.
But then; the roar finally began to die down as quickly as it appeared. The RV stopped its rocking, and the constant hits from whatever was outside; just became the rain with a boom of thunder in the background.
Shaken by the terrifying experience. They stayed absolutely still, while looking up at the ceiling, half expecting it to tear off and see the inside of the tornado.
"Is it over?" Leni at last spoke up.
"I think so." Lynn Sr. answered uneasily.
"Hold on." Checking her Doppler, Lisa silently watches the storm's progress before nodding to herself in relief. "It passed us. Seems that it was about a couple meters away to our left. It's moving away now, so we should be alright, unless it suddenly shifts back on its path."
"Phew! Well kids; we made it out of that one." It was very terrifying experience, but they were all alright and that's what really matters to Rita.
"I wouldn't celebrate so soon mother." Lisa however warned.
"Why's that Lisa."
"It's heading right towards the fairgrounds."
A deathly chill went through all of them. That twister was going to a fairground! Where there's very few shelters to hide in! Oh man. Hopefully they got the news and have fully evacuated the place before it hits.
They have to get there; to see if everyone was alright. Of course they would have to wait until the storm has died down before going anywhere.
What they saw when they got back to the fairgrounds was something right out of a warzone.
Cars were thrown about with some twisted beyond their recognizable shape, twisted metal, wood, and plastic are littered all over the ground, while the faris wheel is slightly tipped to the side. The only thing that was still intact is a tent selling funnel cakes.
How that one tent is still intact is completely beyond them. But it didn't change the horrific scene before their very eyes.
However they weren't the only ones here; as emergency vehicles have parked around the mess. Helping out as many injured people as they can.
The Louds weren't any stranger to tornado damage; as they have seen it on TV before and have experienced one during that time, when they all thought that they were going to loose their house.
But that had only been an F0, so to see this kind of damage at first hand. Well; it's enough to make the loud and chaotic family go silent, even Lucy is a little bit haunted by the scene that was once a lively fairground only an hour ago.
Coming to a stop at what they think had been the parking lot. They all slowly came out of the RV, where they're met with the echoing sounds of both sirens and people calling out names in this mess.
"This is grim. Even for me." Lucy stated.
"Oh man dude. This is like the end of the world." Luna couldn't even imagine on what it would've been like, if they stayed here a lot longer. Whenever she did; all she sees is everything flying everywhere, twisting or being torn apart, while the roar of the mighty twister rang louder than any of her rocking shreds.
"This is definitely the destructive effect of an EF4." It made Lisa very thankful that they weren't directly hit.
"Does anyone see Brad anywhere?" Rita just has to know if he was alright.
"I don't see him anywhere honey. Perhaps he's on the other side of this mess." That's what Lynn Sr. hopes for at least.
"We should do a wide sweep of the area. It's our best chance of finding him." Lisa proclaimed.
Rita wasn't so sure about it, what with the state of this place. There could be anything that could seriously harm her children from pointed nails to down electrical wires.
Then again; splitting up may prove useful on not only finding Brad, but also helping those who got caught up in the storm.
"Ok, but please be careful on where your going kids."
Nodding together, they all went off in groups of three to begin their search of Brad.
Approaching on where the rodeo arena once stood; Lana, Lynn, and Luna stood next to the twisted up fence that almost looks like a DNA strand.
For Lana; she only has one good reason of being in this specific location, besides looking for Brad, and that's searching for any poor animal that were trapped in their pens when the storm struck.
Stepping up to a pile on what was the once the audience stands. She listens carefully for anything, while her two sisters overlooked the mess. "It's hard to believe that we were only just sitting here yesterday. It's crazy isn't it sis?"
"This beats whatever mess we can make." And Lynn knows for a fact that they can create big messes.
"Guys! I hear something!" Lana suddenly cried out in alarm.
Immediately going over to her. The two leaned in closely at the pile and could just faintly hear an animal underneath it. To Lana, who's great with animal behavior, she can hear that the animal is in pain.
"Oh man. This poor guy is trapped. We need to get this stuff off of him." Lana goes to grab hold of some planks, but Lynn resting her hand on her left shoulder stopped her.
"Step aside. I got this." Spitting on her hands, Lynn rubs them together, then grabbed ahold of the bottom. Using the strength in her legs, she lifts the whole pile over her head, revealing the bull that Brad had been riding yesterday.
Letting out a low cry, he looks up to the three with miserable eyes as he is dirty, bruised, and had a long cut going along his side. It didn't look deep enough to cause any infection, but it does look like it hurts badly.
Slowly kneeling down to the bull, Lana gently pats his head. "It's okay boy. Your safe now."
Breathing heavily, the bull closes his eyes for a rest, concerning her even more for this big guy really needed a vet. She would happily do something herself, but she doesn't have anything to bandage his cut.
The only thing she can do is be here for him. "Hey guys. Can you go and find a veterinarian?"
"Sure sis. C'mon Lynn."
"Hold on." Tossing the pile away, a loud crash emitted; right along with a small plume of dust. "Ok. I'm ready."
Leaving Lana with the bull, she continues to gently pet the head, while also soothing him with comforting words.
Carefully trekking through on where the food stands were; Lori, Leni, and Luan stopped themselves in front of the funnel cake stand.
"Lori. How come this one is still standing?" It's rather odd to Leni that amiss all this terrible destruction. This one is completely fine, with several funnel cakes in the mini oven to boot.
"I literally have no idea." It's simply a phenomenal she couldn't figure out, unless she was Lisa. Then she would have an explanation for it.
"It's obvious. The twister didn't feel like having any snacks." Luan laughed, which earned her a hard glare from Lori.
"Really Luan. You literally have to do that here?"
"Sorry. I couldn't resist." She sheepishly replied.
"Hey guys? Do you hear that?" Leni suddenly stated in alert.
Listening carefully. Their ears picked up crying, childlike crying.
Naturally out of concern. They follow the cry to a torn down blue tent, where standing in the middle of it; with hands on her eyes was a girl about Lisa's age.
Being the good hearted girl that she was. Leni approached her, then slowly got down to her level. "What's wrong little one?"
"I lost my mommy! We were eating pretzels, then a monster wind came, which caused everyone to run away, and now she's gone!" Crying more heavily, the young girl ran forward and grabbed onto Leni with a vice-like grip; as her tears stained her shoulders.
Not minding the warm water flowing down her arm, Leni gently wraps her into a warm hug. "It's okay. Let it all out."
Beside her; both Luan and Lori stepped forward to see on what they can do to cheer her up.
Coming down to her level as well; Lori makes sure to speak in a gentle tone to help ease her into the point on where she can tell them some details of her missing mother. "Hey now. We can help you find her. You just need to tell us a few details about her."
Continuing to cry. They had to wait awhile before the girl could even muster up a word, let alone a full fledge sentence. "She's tall, with brown hair, and wears glasses."
Okay it's a brief description, but it's something they can go with. "Come on. Let's go find her."
So together; they went on the search for the girl's missing mother with Leni carrying her, Lori keeping an eye out, and Luan doing the important job of getting the frighten girl to smile in the only way she knew how to.
"What did the T-Rex say; when he got a perfect score on his math test? It was T-errific."
Through her weeping, the girl does a soft chuckle from the joke, which is a great reward for Luan as she goes on to do another one, rewarding her with even more laughter.
They soon came near a collapsed, small roller coaster with four of its dragon themed cars thrown about. Near the dragon head of the first car, stood a mid-aged woman with brunette hair and glasses, frantically searching around the area.
"Jennifer! Jennifer! Where are you!"
The woman's voice alone causes the girl, who they can safely assume is Jennifer, perked up with wide eyes.
"Mommy."
Breaking herself out of Leni's grasp with surprising strength for a kid her age, she drops to the ground on her feet and happily ran to her mother. Upon seeing her, the woman let's up her own happy smile and scooped her daughter up in a tight hug, with Jennifer burying her face against her mother's neck.
Smiling together at the heartwarming sight, the three knew that they have done good. The mother in the meantime looks to them with happy tears coming down her face. "Thank you. Thank you all so much!"
Taking her daughter to an awaiting ambulance, the sisters watched them go in full satisfaction before moving on with their search.
"Hmm. People are going to be needing fresh drinking water." Standing in front of a dirty puddle. Lisa had determined that all available water supplies have been contaminated by debris.
They needed fresh, clean water and fortunately for everyone here. Her large intelligence has already given her a good solution to this serious problem.
Nearby; Lincoln and Lola found themselves looking at the damaged faris wheel, thinking that it was going to come loose and fall with a mighty crash, kicking up a large amount dust and loose debris.
"So is that going to fall or what?" The anticipation for it is getting a bit much for Lola.
"I hope not. The last thing we need is more debris being launched at us." It's just lucky that no one was on that thing when the twister struck. Lincoln couldn't even begin to imagine on how terrifying it would be to see a violent tornado coming right at you, while riding the faris wheel.
And he certainly didn't wanna to be close, if it does collapse. "We should get moving."
"Hold on there for a second; elder brother. I just need to make a few more touches." Lisa addressed.
Turning around; the two are caught off guard to see some kind of mechanism made out of the debris. It was standing on three legs, with a large pipe drilled down in the middle, the pipe loops around to a plastic tube, where it gets filtered out, then finally; another pipe goes straight to a large bucket where fresh water is dumped in.
"What is that?" Lola asked.
"This is my water filter. It sucks up water from underground, then proceeds to filter it into drinkable water; that should be suitable for everyone here."
"And you made that in less than of couple minutes." Lincoln didn't know how he or Lola haven't heard anything as she built all that.
"It's very simple actually; didn't take that long to find some underground water. After that, the rest was rather fast to build."
Thinking further, Lisa also assumed that a few extra medical supplies would be needed here. Taking out her phone, she calls for home. "Yes. Hello Tod. The area I'm currently standing in has been hit by a F4 tornado. I'm sending you my coordinates, so that you can airdrop several medical supplies."
Listening to the other end, Lisa nods a bit before getting off the call. "Good news siblings. The supplies should be here shortly."
"Um Lisa. Our house is miles from here. I think that it's going to be-" Lincoln's sentence is suddenly interrupted by the buzz of a drone.
Looking up with Lola, they just catch sight of a drone with rocket boosters flying by. Dropping off a crate that parachuted down next to Lisa's water filter.
Being deeply satisfied, Lisa opened up the crate; revealing the supplies which the injured people needed. "Excellent. Siblings; I need your help on bringing these supplies to the paramedics."
"Should we question on why Lisa has a rocket powered drone?" Lincoln pondered.
"Just let it go Lincoln." Lola had learned that it's best not to question the things Lisa has, it gets less weirder that way.
Doing what Lola suggested; both he and the two of his sisters took a handful of supplies, then walked off to the paramedics. A trip they did several times, until the very last of the supplies are out of the crate.
Much of the paramedics thanked them for the fresh supplies. As it's thanks to them that they don't have to worry about running out.
Coming up on the spot where Brad's trailer was; Rita with Lilly in her arms, Lynn Sr. and Lucy all stopped upon seeing it turned upside down a couple feet away.
"Oh. That can't be good." Lynn exclaimed, feeling a bit afraid that they may come across a unkindly sight through the windows.
Lucy also had that feeling to prepare themselves for a possible funeral for Brad. She would say something grim now, but held back for her parents shake.
But Rita maintained the hope that Brad was still alive, probably seriously hurt, but alive.
Getting closer to the trailer, they're soon met with the sound of a horse neighing. Galloping around the corner is Brad's horse; Rita, a horse that's not named after Rita, but rather Brad's grandmother, Margarita.
Something that is a bit confusing as it did cause Lynn to go into that misunderstanding, but that can't be addressed now; as currently she is standing next to the trailer, placing her front hooves on it. This was all the clue they needed to know that Brad is indeed inside it.
Rushing over to the only remaining window that's clear. They look in to see Brad laying on the roof with a busted up leg. Grunting in pain, he turned to them at first in surprise upon seeing them, but then of great relief that he is going to be getting help now.
"Howdy Louds. Would you be a partner by helping me out of this pickle?"
"Don't worry Brad. Will get you out!" Rita called. Turning to Lynn and Lucy, they along with Lilly gave her their full attention. "Does anyone have any ideas on how to help him out?"
"We could try opening the door." Lynn suggested; however looking at it. The door was a bit out of reach, not to mention bent out of frame.
"We could try to flip it on its side." Lucy figured that if they did that, then they could get Brad out through the ceiling hatch.
"That's not a bad idea honey. However doing that action may cause Brad further injury." Rita feared that he may land on something sharp or hurt his leg further, she didn't even want to think of that aftermath.
So far two ideas were down, but they are very sure that they will eventually come up with something. Behind them in the meantime; Rita the horse came on up with her own idea.
Calmly walking up to the window, she turns her back to it and breaks it with one good hit of her hoof. The sound alone made them, besides Lucy, jump in surprise.
Turning back dumbfounded. They had a bit of time to register the now open window or the horse giving them a, "hurry up" look. "I guess that works." Lynn shrugged.
With getting inside the trailer no longer being an issue. The next thing they needed to do was getting Brad on out of there without the risk of all that broken glass making things any worse. The logical step is to make a sled to drag him out, but what would they use to make a sled or importantly keep it together?
It's pretty much clear that they were going to need some extra heads in this matter. Pulling out his phone, Lynn sends a mass text to all of his children.
The rest of the Louds came as fast as they can, when they arrived; they all immediately began to put their heads together to make the perfect sled.
Once they started it; the Louds immediately got to work with collecting the supplies, while Lisa put them all in a sled shape, Lynn carrying the more heavy stuff with Luna and Lori, Lincoln and Lucy clearing away the glass, Lana putting the sled together, Leni and Lola giving it some decoration, Luan coming up with a name, while Rita and Lynn Sr. talked to Brad in order to help keep him calm.
At last; the sled is finished and with the "Loud-nado" ready for use. They slide it into the trailer, where it stops just close enough for Brad to grab hold of it.
"Excellent Mr. Plaid. Now all you have to do is get yourself on top of the sled and will be able to drag you out." Lisa informed.
"I'll try little missy." Prepping himself for the upcoming pain that he is for sure going to be feeling.
Brad slowly moved himself forward, seething as it felt like a million, red hot needles were stabbing deeply into his leg. It really made him not want to go any further, but motivation to get himself out of the trailer made him keep moving.
Finally after much struggle. He gets himself on top of the sled, and once he is firmly laying on it. Lana gives his horse the thumbs up to pull.
Letting out a neigh, she slowly moved forward and pulled him safely out of the trailer.
The Louds all cheered for their successful rescue; as for him now out of the trailer. They can get him to the nearest paramedics to tend to that leg injury, which Lisa deduced that it was going to be quite awhile before he can walk again.
"You have my gratitude Louds. You got me out of the trailer." If he had his hat on right now, he would give them all a grateful tip.
"It's no big Mr. Plaid." Leni sweetly replied.
"We couldn't just leave you in there dude." Luna added.
"None of the less. I'm glad that you all weren't too far gone. Otherwise; I may have been stuck in there for awhile." His best guess would be about an hour or two.
"That's one thing you could say about us Louds. When we help out, it's a combined family effort." Lincoln quite proudly proclaimed in which the rest of his family nodded in agreement.
The search and rescue lasted for hours. Many people have been found underneath rubble or stuck inside porta potties, while there are many seriously injured, there were thankfully no deaths, besides for a few animals.
It was just about close to sunset, when the family and Brad, (now in a wheelchair with a cast around his leg), are gathered by the RV; enjoying the recently made fire.
Looking at the RV for the very first time since after the storm. It definitely needed a good wash down; as it was covered in mud stains with small pebbles sticking to it.
They needed to get to that some time tomorrow because after such a stressful day like this. They really needed some time to unwind themselves.
It was around this campfire that they learned on how the terrifying events played out. As of what Brad told them, the tornado had came in completely rain wrapped, meaning that many didn't see it and just thought that it was simply a heavy rainstorm.
He had been inside his trailer when the wind picked up, followed quickly by a loud roar that sounded like a freight train. Looking out a window, he just seen the dark, swirling vortex just seconds before impact.
What happened next had been pure chaos! The wind roared, brief glimpses of tents, wood, and steel flying in the air, then him experiencing a first hand ride of his trailer being picked up, tossed around in the air, then crashing to the ground with a fresh snap of his leg.
He guessed that after the experience, he must've briefly passed out because he really didn't remember much after that, besides waking up by the time Rita and her family were searching the fairgrounds for him.
After hearing this tale of heart wretching disaster. They all couldn't or more accurately didn't want to think on what would've happened if the tornado was a bit closer to knock their RV over or worse; pick them up to. That would have been terrifying with the likely chances of one of them getting very seriously hurt.
But because it missed them. They were able to head back and offer their help throughout the fairground; from the bull receiving the proper care, reuniting Jennifer with her mother, people getting fresh water and extra supplies, to finally getting Brad out of his upside down trailer.
"You know. You folks are good people. You all could've just headed on your way after the twister passed you, but you didn't. Instead; you choose to come on back to help all of us." Brad couldn't be more prouder of them.
"Well we couldn't just ignore a friend in need." Rita proclaimed.
"Um. Mr. Brad." Leni piped up.
"Yes young lady?"
"Are you not going to be able to do your riding horse shows again?" It looked like that he was out of commission for it.
"For awhile at least, but you can't keep a good cowboy down for long. I'll be back up on the saddle in no time."
"That's good." It would be a great shame if he had to give up on the thing he loves the most.
"It sure is." Turning to Rita, Brad adjusted himself on his wheelchair, while trying to ignore the itch in his leg. "So. I heavily take it that this is going to be a little extra in your collum?"
"Being in a tornado and doing our part in the rescue efforts. Would be extra exciting for readers." She admitted. Plus it would help by raising awareness to the people caught in this tornado.
