Martha and Jonathan Kent had been two everyday farmers in Smallville Kansas, the couple had married after high school and had run their family farm together ever since.
Martha Kent was a plump woman with brown hair who looked to be in her mid to late twenties while Jonathan was a man with short black hair who looked to be around the same age as his wife.
The two had lived relatively average lives as farmers in Kansas.
That was until an event would happen that would change the course of their lives forever.
A ship had crashed into the cornfields of their farm, to the Kents, who had been inside their farm at the time of the attack, it had been some type of explosion, when the two went to Investigate, instead of finding what they thought was some kind of explosion, they were instead met with an alien spacecraft that was roughly a bit larger than Jonathan's truck.
The couple was appalled by the sight, neither of them had ever seen such a sight before only hearing about this kind of stuff on the news, things like this usually only happened in major cities so to see such a sight in Smallville Kansas of all places was shocking to say the least.
Originally, the couple had planned to call the G.D.A., after all they weren't sure what else to really do, not to mention the fact that it could have been dangerous, there was no telling what made that thing crash into their farm or what could be inside it for that matter.
However, before either of them could decide to make the call they heard the faintest sound of something, it was a sound familiar to the two of them but neither of them would expect to hear that sound of all things here.
Martha rushed closer to the crash site and the direction the sound was coming from as Jonathan followed behind her, the sound drew closer and grew in volume as the two drew nearer.
Upon reaching the crash site, the couple had found the origin of the noise they had heard, right next to the crashed ship was a triangle like pod that was floating a few feet in the air, upon looking inside the pod they realized that their mind had not been playing tricks on them and what they heard was in fact real.
Inside the Pod was a baby, the baby appeared to be human, with a tuft of black hair and bright blue eyes.
Jonathan and Martha were in disbelief, a baby? Here? Did it come from the ship? The couple wondered as they stared at the pod and the ship.
Before either of them could do anything, they watched as the pod the baby was in floated closer to the ship as an opening the same shape and size of the pod opened on the side of the ship as the pod went into the opening before it closed.
Before either could give a reaction, they felt the ground begin to shake as they saw the ship that had crashed not even five minutes ago begun to sink deeper into the ground as if it was burying itself into the ground.
Both Jonathan and Martha backed away with Martha holding the baby close and protectively as the ship fully sank into the ground, most of where the ship used to be was just a pile of dirt with the exception of one large piece of bit that stood out almost as if it, we're a platform
The couple had talked about what to do with the baby, originally they had intended to call the G.D.A. to deal with this whole thing, but with the ship seemingly burying itself underground and with them now being in possession of this baby who had seemingly come from the ship they had decided that they would not call the G.D.A., Martha believed that the government would only be interested in what this baby could do for them and not what they could do for the baby.
Instead, they would keep the baby and raise him as their son, they had debated about a name, whoever or whatever sent this baby here had not given them anything to go by in terms of a name for the child.
In the end they decided to name him Clark, Clark Kent.
It had taken some time and some planning by both Jonathan and Martha, after all it would be hard to explain to everyone in town who knew them how they ended up with a child all of a sudden, not to mention getting papers for the baby such as a birth certificate. In the end they had come up with an excuse as to why they suddenly had a baby out of thin air.
The story they had come up with was that shortly after returning from a day in the town they returned home to find this baby at their doorstep, they managed to go to the local Smallville court and get the papers in order for him to officially become their son.
For the first couple of years Clark had been an ordinary baby, showing no signs of being different from any other human boy.
However, this changed one day when Clark was around the age of nine years old.
Clark had been playing outside his family's home. As he did so a car came driving down the road at a rather high speed.
Inside the car is a woman who was looking at a map while simultaneously trying to feed milk to her baby in the back seat
As Clark saw the car, he quickly remembered the fact that this road in particular had a large pothole, and with how fast the woman was going things could turn ugly fast.
"Hey! You've got to slow down! There's a large pothole up ahead!" Clark called out only for the car to speed past him, his warning going unheard by the distracted driver.
Not two seconds after Clark attempted to warn the driver did the car hit the pothole and began to spin out of control. The woman quickly tried to gain control, but it was no use as the car was now bound for a tree.
Clark quickly ran after the car in a panic, they were in trouble, the car was about to hit the tree, and those people would get hurt, he had to do something, he had to save them.
Clark's eyes sparked blue with a blue energy surging around them before he instantly closed the distance between himself in the car, breaking the ground beneath his feet as he did so.
He quickly grabbed a hold of the back of the car, stopping the spin as his feet grinded against the ground in an attempt to stop the car.
The car managed to come to a stop just before it hit the tree, causing Clark to let off a sigh of relief before it finally hit him on what he had just done.
Clark looked at his hands in shock and disbelief. How did he just do that? One moment he was running, the next he had stopped the car. But how?
A wide variety of questions entered the young boy's head as he tried to the best of his abilities to understand what had just happened.
He had powers, powers like the heroes on tv, powers like the Guardians, like the Immortal, like Omniman.
A large, excited smile grew on Clark's face as he looked up a tree, seeing the kite that he accidentally got stuck in a tree the day prior.
Without hesitation he jumps high into the air and manages to grab the kite, much to his excitement.
However, his excitement quickly turned into shock and a bit of fear as he noticed how high he was and looked down only to notice he hadn't fallen.
"I can fly! I can actually fly!" Clark exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement.
Clark floated and looked around getting a feel for how his flight worked, he then gently floated down, letting down his Kite, he then looked up at the sky and grins before he soared up into the sky above his home with a giant grin on his face.
Unbeknownst to Clark, the woman he had just saved had just taken a picture of him floating in the air with a camera, it wasn't everyday that you got saved by a boy who seemingly had the super strength of the Immortal, the speed of Red Rush, and flight like Omniman.
He could fly, and apparently, he could move very fast as well, and somehow, he was strong enough to stop a car from crashing into a tree with his own two hands. For young Clark it was all too exciting, he had always wondered what it was like for people like the Guardians and Omniman, what having powers must feel like, and now he was experiencing it firsthand.
Clark did flips and spins as he soared through the clouds, enjoying every second of his new found ability to fly, he quickly tested his speed, flying above the clouds as he grazed his hand against the clouds he flew above, Clark had to admit it definitely felt differently than he expected, instead of feeling like cotton it was just damp and moist and it made his hand wet
Clark decided to test how fast he could go, increasing his flight speed and breaking the sound barrier; he was moving through the air at a high rate of speed.
He then stops and floats up in the air with his arms spread out and a large smile still on his face. He didn't want to go too far and end up lost in the sky, as he floated in the air he looked back down at his house then at his hands. "How am I doing this?" Clark wondered allowed, he was happy to have these powers but he didn't understand how he got these powers in the first place.
He quickly flew back down to his house before landing gently on the ground, he was thankful that flight had come so naturally to him.
He quickly ran inside his house and got his parents' attention before promptly giving them a demonstration on what he was capable of, floating above the ground and around the two of them.
To say that Martha and Jonathan were in utter disbelief was an understatement, they of course knew Clark was not from earth but up until now he had shown no signs of any type of abilities, they had been concerned about such a thing happening but after the first eight years everything seemed fine, and they believed him to be like any other human child.
But now their concerns had turned out to have some merit to them after all, and according to Clark not only could he fly he could also run extremely fast and seemingly had super strength.
Clark then posed the question to his parents on how his powers came to be, he wasn't sure if his parents knew or not, but it was all he could really do to try and figure out how these powers came to be.
After Jonathan and Martha had a long discussion about it, they decided that now it was time to show Clark where he had come from.
The two had taken Clark outside near the cornfield and had begun digging up a portion of the ground with shovels, this of course confused Clark as he wondered what could possibly be underground that could tell him where his powers had come from.
After Martha and Jonathan had spent some time digging they had finally dug up what they were looking for, a strange looking metallic platform that up until now had been buried there, it had a lot of intricate lines that formed strange triangle like symbols that couldn't be recognized by Clark, though for Martha and Jonathan this wasn't their first time seeing such a sight.
Clark looked at it in both surprise and confusion. "What is this?" He asked.
"This is how you came to us, Clark." His mom replied. "From the sky to right down here."
"The answers to all your questions might be down there." His father added as he stared at the platform.
Clark walked forward as he stared at the platform still a bit confused, he then took a step on the platform and after taking about two steps the lines in the platform began to glow a bright blue color as several strangely shaped pillar looking devices emerged from the platform all around Clark and they all were facing his general direction.
Clark was in both awe and worry, he had never seen anything like this before and on the one hand it was very interesting and on the other hand what if they were dangerous? Needless to say, Clark was pretty cautious.
Clark slowly reached out to one of the pillars that was in front of him and gently touched it., instantly, the lines on the pillars began to glow the same bright blue that the platform had prior to the pillars emerging from it.
A large, towering figure then appeared over Clark making him fall down in shock and surprise as the figure towered over him, however after taking a slightly closer look the figure was not actually a real person but rather a hologram.
The Hologram itself appeared to be that of an older man, the outfit he appeared to be wearing was some sort of futuristic outfit, the outfit had shoulder pauldrons that looked like that made the outfit seem more like it was made for battle or was some type of military uniform, he also bore a cape along with a strange diamond shape triangle on his chest with a strange symbol Clark couldn't quite make out, along with this he also bore a cape on his back that also appeared to be white.
The man himself was an older man, he had slightly longer hair that almost touched his shoulders and some parts of his hair appeared to be grey, but it was hard to tell due to the fact he was only in the form of a hologram. Another noticeable feature was the eyepatch that appeared to be on his eye, partially covering a scar of some sort, he also bore some type of device on his forehead that none of the three presents knew anything about.
"Uh, hello?" Clark said almost like a question.
The hologram began to speak, however, much to the further shock of the Clark and his adoptive parents the hologram rather than speak English, spoke an entirely different language that not a single one of them could make out.
"Wait! W-what are you saying? I can't understand you." Clark tried telling the hologram.
"I don't think he's speaking a language native to earth Clark.." Jonathan said as he stared in disbelief.
As the figure continued speaking the pillars all began floating closer to Clark, completely surrounding him as Martha and Jonathan took a few steps back not sure what to make of any of this.
The hologram began to speak more aggressively as the platform Clark had been on up to this point began to open up, with a white glow coming from the platform, or whatever this thing was.
Clark floated up to prevent from falling in, however he quickly turned his head to see that his mother was hanging on to his father and was close to falling into whatever this thing was.
Acting quickly, he moved away from the hologram, past the pillars, and swooped up both his mother and father before setting them down gently on solid ground.
The pillars all pulled back to where they had originally been as the Hologram looked up at Clark before saying one more word. "Krypton."
After that, the hologram disappeared and the hole in the ground closed up, with all the pillars going back into the platform or whatever that thing was.
After a moment Clark moved in a blur, grabbing one of the shoves and burying the platform under the dirt again, eyes still wide with shock and horror and panting heavily after what just occurred.
Clark flew to his parents and hugged them before speaking. "I-I never want to come here again! T-that thing almost hurt you!"
Jonathan looked down to his son and spoke. "Clark, I know this was scary, but-" however before Jonathan could finish Martha cut him off.
"Jonathan he's right, we don't know what this thing is or who sent it!" Martha said in a tone that conveyed her concern.
"Am..Am I not your son?" Clark asked looking up at his mom and dad for any kind of answers, his eyes beginning to water with tears.
"Honey, you will always be our son." Martha quickly reassured, putting her hands on Clark's cheeks.
"B-but I-Im not human?" Clark asked, taking a few steps back. "W-who am I? W-what am I?"
The following years saw Clark become very conservative with the use of his abilities, it turned out that there were serious drawbacks to using his powers, such as a picture, albeit a low quality and slightly blurry picture of him floating in the sky appeared in the local newspaper, turns out the woman he saved ended up snagging a picture of him.
With groups like the G.D.A. who could potentially seek out Clark for his abilities, not to mention various more nefarious groups like the Lizard League out there, his parents advised it would be best that he conceal his abilities and fit in more.
Clark did not object to this, he had watched whatever that thing was that he had supposedly come from almost take his parents away and that made him scared. When he first discovered his powers, he thought he could be like the heroes on TV, like Omniman but now he wasn't so sure, what if he hurt someone? What if someone else saw him? He simply couldn't risk it.
Clark spent his entire childhood being extra careful, he wanted to make sure he couldn't hurt anyone or worse, this came with the side effect of being very distant from people and not making a whole lot of friends throughout his childhood.
Eventually after he graduated High School despite some reservations he decided to go to college at the University of Chicago, Clarks parents were sad to see their son leave but were also extremely proud of him for making it into such a big school.
When Clark left Smallville for a big city like Chicago he was admittedly nervous, but when he had moved into his new dorm he had managed to make a friend in his new roommate, Jimmy Olsen, the two had quickly begun to get along and soon the who had quickly begun to get along and by the time Clark had finished College the two had become best friends.
Once the two had graduated they had decided to both become interns at the Daily Planet, an infamous news organization stationed in downtown Chicago, with any luck the two could possibly end up becoming full time reporters. Clark was excited, he finally would have a real opportunity to do something with his life.
Of course, the thought of perhaps using his powers to save people and become a hero had crossed his mind more than once, but with heroes like the Guardians, Teen Team, and Omniman around he felt that there wasn't really much of a need for any new superheroes.
Nonetheless he and Jimmy had their first day of work tomorrow and he would need to get some sleep if he wanted to be ready for tomorrow.
Note:ok, so this is a short chapter. I basically used this chapter to summarize Clark's arrival and his life up to now, as I felt there would not be enough changes between this and his canon childhood.
For anyone wondering why Clark's powers did not kick in from the moment he was on earth is because in the series it's shown that Clark didn't discover his abilities until he was about 8-10 years old.
The next chapter will focus a bit on the government side of things and then we will start to get into the actual story, that's where things will start to become more detailed and where I will start to add a lot more dialogue and detail to scenes and this is where things are really going to start to get interesting and I can't wait to show you all what I have in store.
And I am going to get this out of the way now. I have NO MONEY and I cannot pay for commissions of any kind and on top of that most of the people asking don't even have good enough art worth paying for, so no I don't want your shitty commission.
Also to reiterate my last note, I am holding off on adding any DC characters until they are revealed in MAWS. If they do I have ideas to explain some of them showing up but I'm mainly focusing on those that were heavily hinted at in the show. That being Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Hawkgirl and Hawkman, and Aquaman, who have all been hinted at in various degrees. My reason for waiting is because I strongly believe MAWS eventually will reveal other DC heroes and when they do I want to be sure that these DC heroes are accurate to the show which is why I'm waiting, wouldn't want to bring my own interpretation of Flash or Wonder Woman in only for MAWS to bring in their own in a future episode and my Interpretation and theirs is completely different and future readers become confused or something. So for now, we simply wait on the show to provide us with more DC heroes to work with. Who knows, maybe we will get Batman in Season 3, or Flash, only time will tell. If they do not add anyone by season 5 I may consider adding them on my own using the mawsverse designs one of the guest reviewers brought up as I believe they look pretty decent.
Anyway, I will be working on the next chapter as soon as possible so stay tuned for chapter 3.
Also, I updated Chapter 1 a tad bit toward the end, nothing huge, just added some stuff that will become more relevant later.
