Chapter 39:

The Stinky Sock Returns:

Taking place during the Oikawa arc.

"The evil supervillain known as the Stinky Sock has finally been cornered by the police!"

"Stand back, coppers, and cease your attack, or I'll make your police chief my late night snack," says the Stinky Sock.

"Do what he says," says the Chief.

"Will the smell of this evil sock puppet poison our fair city? Or will the law force him to clean up his act?"

"Or will he choose door number three, and devour a newsman live on TV," asks the Stinky Sock.

The police then manage to capture the sock.

...

"Remember this face and remember it well, so you'll recognize me when I see you in—" The Sock is then pushed into the police van.

Six Months Later:

The Sock comes out, now a clean sock. "Thank you, Warden," says the sock, "I feel like a new sock!"

"Remember, Sock, keep it clean or you'll get mean," says the Warden.

"Thank you, warden. I promise I won't let you down," says the Sock.

"Here's the address of your new job," says the Warden.

...

The sock is now working at a certain school. "So, what's my job," asks the sock.

"You're the new janitor," says the Principal.

"What," asks the Sock, "can't I just teach math or something…"

"I doubt a talking sock puppet could be qualified as a teacher," says the Principal, "you'll be fine!"

The sock was nervous.

...

"Stay clean, or you'll get mean. Stay clean, or you'll get mean."

Patamon then comes. "Oh, hi, I'm Patamon!"

"Hi Patamon, I'm… uh… SS… yeah, SS!"

"I bet you're gonna do a great job, SS," says Patamon.

The Sock starts cleaning everything. "Huh. Hey, I did it! I got dirty and I didn't turn evil! Huh, I must be cured," says the Sock. The Clean Sock continuously cleans the dirty dishes with his body, while beginning to turn evil. "Scraping up filth, from between every crack! I'm the Stinky Sock, and, baby, I'm back!"

"You say something…" Patamon sees the Stinky Sock. "The Stinky Sock! Where's that nice SS? What did you do to him, you super filthy supervillain?" The Stinky Sock attempts to attack Patamon, who then squirts him with a bottle of liquid soap, but then Patamon sees the Stinky Sock turn into the Clean Sock. "SS stands for Stinky Sock, doesn't it?"

"Yes, Patamon, it's me," says the Sock, "I'm trying to change my evil ways and stay clean."

"Wow, a supervillain intervention! I'll help you, SS. I'll make sure you stay squeaky clean and dirt-free," says Patamon.

...

The Sock's next job is to clean the toilets. Patamon takes care of that for him, but the Sock gets hypnotized by the smell. "Here's what I thinky," says the Sock, "here comes the stinky!"

Patamon hoses the sock with the sink water, turning him back into the Clean Sock again.

...

For weeks, Patamon tried to help the sock stay clean and good.

...

"Well, SS, looks like you're cured," says Patamon, "you haven't been stinky in weeks!"

"Thanks to you, Patamon, I'll never be stinky again," says the Sock. Then a skunk comes out of nowhere and skunks the sock for no reason, turning him back into the Stinky Sock, who then goes on a rampage. "You want me clean, but I ain't willing! I've gotta be me, and me is a villain!"

The Sock then goes on a rampage. "Uh-oh," says Patamon.

...

"The Stinky Sock has been seen everywhere, defiling dozens of decent denizens with dirty deeds!"

"Breaking news, the Stinky Sock just wiped all the teacher's dirty looks right off their faces! Who will be next?"

The Stinky Sock does the same to that news guy. "No more pencils, no more books, no more news guy's dirty looks!" The Sock then kisses the news guy, returning his face, but up-side-down.

"No– Oh, that got in my mouth!"

The Sock continues, but then gets hosed by Patamon. "Sorry, old chum, but from now on, you're gonna have to stay clean for good," says Patamon.

"Be gone, hygiene. I'm too big to stay clean," says the Sock. He then eats the hose and the fire hydrant.

"Oh, it's on now," says Patamon, "Boom Bubble! Pah!" Patamon tries, but that fails.

...

The Stinky Sock chases after Patamon. "Help! Call the Police! Call TK! Call my nonexistent Mommy," says Patamon.

The Sock then sees the beach. "I think, for dessert, I'll eat more dirt!"

"There's got to be a way to…" Patamon sees a washing machine. "That'll do!"

...

As the Sock continues, Patamon manages to get him in the washing machine and turns it on. And with that, the Sock shrinks in the wash. "I may be a squirt, but I'm still full of dirt," says the Sock in a high pitched voice.

"Aww, little mini SS is so cute," says Patamon.

And with that, the police take the Stinky Sock back to jail.
