TOP SECRET

HCpt Kyōraku: First off, I apologize for pulling you all away from your duty's, but since we have seen a lull in the fighting over the last few weeks, ever since the stalemate at the Árbol de Piedra in the Menos Forest we've- [Cpt Soifon cuts him off]

Cpt Soifon: Which is still ongoing. Calling it a stalemate is optimistic. Commander Kanō and his Menos Commandos have done a great job keeping the Quincy from establishing themselves any further in, but they're just one team. If we expanded their scope, we could actually make gains.

Cpt Hitsugaya: [Sarcastically] Yeah, and the Quincy would definitely just let that slide and not respond.

HCpt Kyōraku: While I wouldn't say it like that, Cpt Hitsugaya is correct. The Menos Commandos are a nuisance to them, but they're small enough that the Quincy haven't responded in force. The fact that the Quincy also have to deal with the constant threat of Hollows in the forest works in our favor as well. The longer we maintain this position, the more time we have to train and rebuild.

Cpt Soifon: I understand. But I would like to once again formally request having the Menos Commandos placed under the 2nd Division.

Cpt Jaegerjaquez: Fuck off, how many times do I gotta tell you, Kanō's part of the 11th, he's not joining your Division, bitch.

Cpt Soifon: If you won't hold your tongue, I will gladly cut it out! [Cpt Soifon steps forward]

HCpt Kyōraku: [Flairs his reiatsu and yells] Quiet! If Old Man Yama were still here, you two'd be piles of ash right now. Cpt Soifon, we've been over this, meet me later and we can discuss this further in private. Now, we've managed to establish a line of communication with a resistance cell in the Rukongai. Specifically a cell we've designated Lambda Group, led by Sgt Raiden Shuga, 14th Seat of the 7th Division.

Cpt Iba: Well, I'll be damned, Raiden's still kicking, eh. I'm glad, he was always a tough one.

HCpt Kyōraku: Nanao-chan, if you would.

Lt Ise: The report we received was brief, and was unfortunately not as detailed as we'd have liked it to be. Not much can be done though. It's a miracle he was able to get us this information in the first place. It sheds a bit of light on why the Wandenreich hasn't been putting much pressure on us, both here in Hueco Mundo, and across the Strait of Acheron in Soul Society. There's currently a large network of resistance cells all throughout the Rukon and the Wandenreich has been committing significant resources to try and establish a tight rule there. According to Sgt Shuga the middle districts are a powder keg, and things are only getting worse.

Cpt Kurotsuchi: Hmmm… Maybe we could find a way to smuggle weapons into the middle districts. With only a couple days of reiatsu training almost any civilian could use the new HR-4 rifle.

Cpt Soifon: Something we agree on. But it would be difficult. I do have a couple agents in the Seireitei, but they're deep-cover. If we use one of them, that's an asset gone for good.

Urahara: Now, now, no point in being wasteful, I may be able to come up with something. [Cpt Kurotsuchi tsk-ed in response]

Cpt Kuchiki: Do you even have time for that? We need you working on Project Eclipse. [Urahara sighs]

HCpt Kyōraku: Cpt Kuchiki is right Urahara-san. Cpt Soifon, Cpt Kurotsuchi, I want you to draft an operational plan. We at least need to consider our options. Nanao-chan, could you continue.

Lt Ise: The next thing that Sgt Shuga's report confirms is that the group that was forced to flee out of the south gate during the Fall is still very much active. They've become known as the Lost Division. They're being led by the former 3rd seat of the 3rd Division, Major Giyu Tomioka. Based on census data we took after the fall, we guess the Lost Division is made up of about 10 to 15,000 troops from the 3rd, 6th, and 10th.

Cpt Abarai: Damn, is there any way to get them out? Getting them back into their Divisions would be a nice boost to our numbers not to mention morale.

Lt Akon: Not possible, even if we knew exactly where in the Jerall Mountains they were holed up, It's just not feasible to extract nearly a division's worth of shinigami without being noticed. Sternritters would be on us immediately. Not to mention an operation of that scale would be large enough to be seen by the Almighty. We can't risk it.

HCpt Kyōraku: Thank you, Lt Akon, I couldn't have said it better myself. They seem to be running a successful guerilla campaign in the south anyway. I trust they will be able to continue it. Now, Nanao-chan, the last part of the report.

Lt Ise: [ahem] The last part of the report is the most disturbing. It seems that Sternritter Z, Giselle Gewelle is still alive.

[Outburst from many in the room]

Cpt Hitsugaya: That's impossible!

Kurosaki: She was killed by Yhwach!

[HCpt Kyōraku raises his arm to calm the room]

Cpt Kurotsuchi: [Places his hand on his chin] I had assumed that the Auswählen either killed the original Sternritter, or at least stripped them of their Schrift. But that girl did exhibit remarkable resiliency due to her ability.

Lt Madarame: If you asked me to bet on which one of the original Sternritter would survive Yhwach's little purge, I'd definitely bet on that creepy bitch.

Lt Ise: It's odd though, according to Sgt Shuga's report, she's not working for Yhwach anymore.

Kurosaki: Is it that surprising? She was betrayed and nearly killed by him. I'd be more confused if she'd just fallen back in line.

Lt Ise: No, she's on her own side now. The report states that she's taken 7 entire districts. It's… [ breathes in deeply] She massacred everyone in those districts, and turned them all into zombies.

Cpt Muguruma: Well… shit.

Cpt Kurotsuchi: Brilliant! She actually realized the full potential of her ability. An army entirely bent to her will.

Cpt Ginjō: Slaying zombies, huh. Yukio'd be into that.

Cpt Kotetsu: Can the effect be reversed?

Cpt Kurotsuchi: Assuming nothing about her ability has changed, yes, I can reverse the zombification, but only if the victim was alive when it happened.

Kurosaki: Inoue could probably do it too.

Lt Ise: That is not the worst part. The report also confirmed that she has the zombie of Captain Shinji Hirako under her control.

Lt Hinamori: No…

ICpt Matsumoto: If that report is accurate, that's catastrophic.

HCpt Kyōraku: Indeed. We have not been able to directly confirm it ourselves, but out of an abundance of caution, we will consider it true until proven otherwise.

ICpt Hisagi: We can't do anything that deep in the districts though. That's far into Quincy territory.

Lt Ise: Correct, and according to Sgt Shuga, the Wandenreich have attempted deploying subjugation teams into the affected districts on two occasions.

Cpt Kurotsuchi: Fools, they're only making her stronger.

Lt Ise: It's as Cpt Kurotsuchi says. We know she still has the zombie of the Sternritter Bambietta Basterbine, but it is likely that she has added more Sternritters to her ranks from these subjugation attempts.

Cpt Abarai: Why the hell haven't the Quincy sent in one of their Schutzstaffel?

Kurosaki: Or even that Haschwalth bastard himself.

Lt Ise: Unknown. Maybe the threat of Cpt Hirako and the possibility of her getting one of them under her control is enough deterrent, but it is impossible to know for sure.

Cpt Ginjō: [Cpt Ginjō scoffs] Isn't it obvious, it's the other way around.

Urahara: It appears we've come to the same conclusion, Ginjō-san.

Cpt Hitsugaya: That being?

Urahara: Gewelle is likely the one being deterred. According to the timeframe referenced in Sgt Shuga's report, she made herself known months ago. If she were moving unchecked, she'd have taken more than 7 districts.

Cpt Hitsugaya: So they're just not doing anything about her!?

Cpt Ginjō: I'd wager they're viewing her as an asset, if I were in their position, I'd consider her as something of a natural disaster. She can't be fully controlled, but she could be directed or manipulated.

Cpt Kurotsuchi: If, in the future, we are able to start retaking the middle districts, the Wandenreich would cut her loose, make her our problem. Ingenious really.

Lt Madarame: Dammit…

HCpt Kyōraku: That concludes Sgt Shuga's report. Now, onto our next order of business. Cpt Soifon, please give your report on the Wandenreich presence across the Strait of Acheron.

Cpt Soifon: Yes sir. Onmitsukidō agents have reported an abnormal massing of forces in the North 77th District. At least three brigades transferred from East Rukon. Why so many brigades were over there to begin with is unknown, but a massing of this many forces seems to indicate one thing. Invasion.

Cpt Hitsugaya: You think they're going to attempt a naval landing across the Strait?

Cpt Soifon: I do.

Cpt Kurotsuchi: Is that all? You couldn't get so much as a time frame? [Cpt Kurotsuchi makes a grunt of contempt]

Cpt Soifon: You bastard! I lost multiple agents, good men and women, to get that information. Don't you dare discount their sacrifice!

Kurosaki: Dick move, Clown Face. I might not agree with Bumblebee on much, but that's too far.

Cpt Soifon: [Growling under her breath] Kurosaki… [Sighs and regains her composure] I suggest, at the very least, we transfer another Division to the coast.

HCpt Kyōraku: I agree. Cpt Muguruma, I am officially ordering the transfer of the 9th Division from our base in the Maw Outskirts in Hueco Mundo to reinforce the Southern front. Speak with Nanao-chan about the specifics of the deployment. The 1st Division will provide logistical support for the transfer. Lt Hinamori, I want you to take a brigade from the 5th to replace the 9th in the Maw Outskirts.

Cpt Hitsugaya: Sir, that's only a quarter the number of troops stationed there right now, and Lt Hinamori has never- [He is cut off]

Lt Hinamori: Yes sir! I will not disappoint.

HCpt Kyōraku: I understand your concern Cpt Hitsugaya, but the Wandenreich has shown no interest in attempting to move into that region. And with them massing on the coast of the strait, it would be a waste of resources for them to throw troops at the Maw.

Cpt Hitsugaya: [Reluctantly] I understand, sir.

HCpt Kyōraku: Now then, our final order of business for this meeting. Has training with the new weapons been progressing well in all the squads?

Cpt Jaegerjaquez: I already told you, I'm not using those cowardly fuckin' toys.

Cpt Soifon: The advantage they give in combat is not debatable. You're handicapping your entire division with that mindset.

Cpt Jaegerjaquez: I don't care how many times I need to say it, the 11th isn't using those.

ICpt Matsumoto: Well, we can't force him. I'm more surprised by your stance. You were always the most of a traditionalist out of all the captains.

Cpt Soifon: I'm a realist, and overlooking their practicality in such a dire time is foolish.

HCpt Kyōraku: Honestly given our situation, I think even Old Man Yama would've seen their usefulness. Now, status report for the Divisions. The 1st has them implemented.

Cpt Soifon: The 2nd is fully integrated.

ICpt Matsumoto: The 3rd Division has fully implemented their usage.

Cpt Kotetsu: Combat personnel in the 4th are equipped and trained. Thank you to Cpt Soifon and the 2nd Division for assisting with that.

Cpt Ginjō: The 5th is combat ready.

Cpt Abarai: The 6th too, I'm not a fan of them, but the regs love 'em.

Cpt Iba: The 7th is good to go.

ICpt Hisagi: The 8th is too.

Cpt Muguruma: The 9th is ready for combat on the Strait.

Cpt Hitsugaya: The 10th is as well.

Cpt Jaegerjaquez: You know my fuckin' answer.

Cpt Kurotsuchi: Yes, Yes, the 12th's combat personnel were the first trained with them.

Cpt Kuchiki: Training in the 13th is complete.

HCpt Kyōraku: Very good. With that, I believe we can adjourn this meeting. Cpt Soifon and Cpt Grimmjow, come to my office so we can further discuss the matter regarding the reassignment of troops. Dismissed!

Author's Notes:

It's been a while since I did a chapter that wasn't a journal entry, so here's something new. This format gave me a chance to do something I haven't had to do in this fic so far. Write dialogue. I hope it came out well, writing dialogue was always something I was nervous about doing, it's part of the reason I decided to do a journal style fic in the first place, so I hope it came out well.

Alright, I have a big question for all of you, especially the readers who take the time to comment on my story. I've never hid the fact that I borrow characters from other works, but adapt them to fit into Bleach, so it isn't really a crossover, it's just a character with the same appearance, personality, and similar abilities. But I recently had an idea that I really want to do, but it may take that too far, making this character a major character, unlike the others that have been minor or offscreen characters. I've already put together the backstory to make them seamlessly fit into the Bleach world (and there's already precedent in the Bleach canon to make it work), but I don't know if it would be going too far, and I'd like to hear opinions.

I think I'll write it, and if you guys want it I'll post it, and if after reading it, you don't like it, I can delete it, and we pretend it never happened, lol.

Thanks everyone, and thanks for reading!
