Prologue:

"Your magic rank is very admirable for your family's social rank." The principal tells Haruhi who is sitting beside her father to try to get into the school. "I must say you are a good candidate to raise your rank. If you can graduate from our school your future will be bright. You'll get more opportunities than you would have in the kind of schools you would have otherwise gone in."

"Thank you." Haruhi dips her head momentarily to show her respect and gratitude.

"I do have to warn you. This school will be tougher than anything you've ever done before. You will have tests that will test your magical skills out in the field so to speak, you will be expected to grasp as well as use more advanced spells, you will also be given magical missions that will need to be complete unlike anything you've done before, and I think you get the idea. Of course you will get a special tutor who works with those with your kind of magic. However all teachers and tutors must report on your progress each month. There is a lot of tough homework. Do you think you can handle all of this?"

"Yes. I know I can." Haruhi confirms and the principal lets out a small sound.

"Good to hear. Why don't you take a look around while me and your father finish all needed paperwork?" The principal suggests and Haruhi dips her head before getting up. "And welcome to Ouran. I can't wait to see how you do in our school for elites."

"Thank you so much. I can't wait to show you that I can make it." Haruhi bows her head again then heads out of the room. She begins walking around looking around. She pauses as she comes to the courtyard. She can see a blonde crouching by a bunch of plants. She also spots a raven haired male standing with the blonde male. She is behind them and there is a good gap between her and them.

"It is good to keep things well even though school hasn't started yet." The blonde mentions holding a hand over a dying bush. His hand is surrounded by a green sparkly mist.

The bush comes back to life sparkling like the blondes hand. It blooms beautiful red roses.

The blonde stops the glowing in his hand pulling it away from the bush. "There we go. See any other ones?" His head turns slightly to look at the other with him.

The raven haired male glances around.

Haruhi isn't really sure why but she ducks behind a pillar of the building, it's on a spot where the building comes to an end opening up to like a covered porch to lead to the courtyard. She waits a few moments before peeking around confirming that she hasn't been noticed.

"I saw some over here earlier I'm pretty sure. Let us get them back to being healthy." The raven haired male leads the blonde away to the other side of the courtyard.

Haruhi heads back inside wondering who those two were and why they're here now. She shrugs it off as depending on the magic some can get insistent on certain things.

There are side effects with magic and those side effects are determined by what kind of magic one has.

Haruhi decides to head back closer to the principals office. She wants to go home to start preparing herself for the school year ahead. She has a bit of an idea of what to expect.

Elite schools and their students are big media hits. They are reported on a lot with some more than others.

No other types of schools ever hit the media unless it's for something big happening, usually for the wrong reasons.

Haruhi will endure it if she has to. She will achieve a higher status. She has been working hard for this ever since her mother died revealing the truth. Her magic had been limited by her mother casting a spell, who worried about what might happen to Haruhi like her being taken away to another family of higher status, though without her mothers magic Haruhi has been able to flourish. She still wishes her mom was alive however she swore to herself long ago that she will make her mom proud. "Just you watch mom. I'll make it and you'll be so proud." She mutters to herself.

The school years start feels so close now.
