The heavy silence in the room was broken only by the occasional clicks of the laptop keys as Daya navigated through the files on the flash drive. ACP Pradyuman sat stiffly in his chair, his face a mask of grim determination, while Manoj stood by the desk, arms crossed, his brows furrowed in guilt and anger
The screen flickered to life, displaying folders filled with incriminating documents. Daya opened the first video
Video Playback
Raj Singhania leaned back in his luxurious chair, a sinister smirk on his face as he spoke to someone off-screen
Raj (in the video):Aarav ab mere logon ke paas hai. Samajh gaya na, Abhijeet? Tumhari har saans ka hisaab ab mere haath mein hai. Agar tumne ek kadam bhi galat uthaaya, toh socho woh chhota sa bachcha... kya woh tumhare ghar laut paayega?
The camera angle shifted slightly, revealing Abhijeet, standing stiff and silent, his jaw clenched
Raj (continuing):Ab tum CID ke officer nahi, sirf ek puppet ho. Tumhare haath aur paanv, dono meri doron se bandhe hue hain
The room felt heavier than before.
ACP Pradyuman (breaking the silence):Mere Aarav... usne mere Aarav ko kidnap kiya. Is liye mera beta... yeh sab bardasht kar raha tha
His voice cracked slightly, and he closed his eyes, the weight of the revelation crushing him
Manoj (guilt-ridden):Abhijeet... woh sab kuch apne dam par sambhalne ki koshish kar raha tha. Aur maine... maine usse interrogate kiya. Us par haath uthaya...
Daya slammed his fist on the table, his eyes blazing with anger.
Daya:Woh khud itna kuch seh raha tha, sir. Sirf Aarav aur hum sab ko bachaane ke liye! Aur hum... hum use samajh bhi nahi paaye
Pradyuman's fingers trembled as he rubbed his temples, trying to make sense of the betrayal
ACP Pradyuman (quietly):Raj Singhania... ek baap ke jazbaat se khel gaya. Aur humara beta... woh apne dard ko daba kar humari raksha karta raha
Daya clicked on another file, revealing a detailed ledger of Raj's illegal dealings—drug trades, money laundering, and a network of corrupt officials. Each document was meticulously categorized, every piece of evidence pointing to Raj Singhania's criminal Empire
Daya (angrily):Yeh saboot kaafi hai Raj Singhania ko giraane ke liye. Yeh pura system uske saath mila hua hai, lekin Abhijeet ne har ek detail yahan save ki hai
Manoj leaned closer, his eyes scanning the documents
Manoj:Yeh toh uske contacts ka pura network hai. Aur yeh dekho—uski properties, hidden accounts, sabka data yahan hai
Suddenly, Daya opened a text file titled *"Emergency Instruction"*. It contained a single paragraph written by Abhijeet
Abhijeet's Note:
Raj ke study mein ek mic fit kiya hai. Iska live feed mere email account par link hai. Password: *...Yeh sab tumhare liye hai, sir. Mujh par bharosa rakhna *
The words hung heavy in the air as ACP Pradyuman read them aloud
ACP Pradyuman (whispering):Usne pehle hi sab tayar kar rakha tha... mujhe bharosa rakhne ko
Manoj's fists clenched
Manoj:Raj ne sirf ek officer ko nahi, ek parivaar ko todne ki koshish ki hai. Par hum use yeh mauka nahi denge
Daya nodded, his voice resolute
Daya:Sir, humein woh mic ka access lena hoga. Raj ke khilaf jo bhi saboot ho sake, use ek saath lekar IB ke saamne rakhna hoga
Pradyuman stood up, his eyes blazing with a rare fury.
ACP Pradyuman:Yeh Raj Singhania ka ant hoga. Abhijeet ke liye, Aarav ke liye, aur is desh ke liye. Lekin mujhe..mujhe pehle apne bete ko wapas laana hai. Woh aur seh nahi sakta
Daya:Aur hum sab uske saath khade hain, sir
The three exchanged determined glances, the weight of their mission clear in their eyes
As they packed the evidence, Pradyuman paused and stared at a framed photo on the desk. It was of the entire family—him, Abhijeet, Priya, and Aarav—taken during happier times
ACP Pradyuman (to himself):Mujhe maaf karna, beta. Ek baap hone ke naate, main tumhara dard samajh nahi paaya
Daya placed a hand on his shoulder
Daya:Sir, hum use wapas laayenge. Yeh sab bas ek raat ka intezaar hai
Pradyuman nodded, his resolve steeling once more as the three left the study, ready to take the next step in their fight against Raj Singhania
The Next Morning
Tarika sat nervously in the cold, uninviting waiting area of the IB bureau. Her hands were clasped tightly in her lap as her eyes flicked toward the clock on the wall. She had been waiting for almost an hour, her patience fraying with every passing minute
An officer approached her, holding a clipboard.
Officer (curtly):Madam, permission aapko mili hai, lekin time sirf pandrah minute ka hoga. Koi physical contact allowed nahi hai
Tarika's jaw tightened, but she nodded.
Tarika:Bas mujhe usse milne do
The officer gestured toward the corridor.
Officer:Wahan baitiye, hum use leke aate hain
Abhijeet sat slumped on the cold floor of the cell, his head resting against the wall. His face was pale, his eyes heavy with exhaustion, and the loose white shirt they had given him barely covered the bruises and welts on his body. He looked like a shadow of the man he once was.
Two officers approached the cell
Officer 1: Uth, tujhse milne koi aaya hai
Abhijeet slowly opened his eyes, wincing as he tried to push himself up. His body protested every movement, but he forced himself to stand, his pride refusing to let him show his weakness.
The officers unlocked the cell and roughly grabbed his arm to guide him out.
Officer 2 (mockingly):Chal, tujhe kuch sympathy milne wali hai. Enjoy kar
Abhijeet said nothing, his jaw tightening as he let them lead him toward the meeting room
Tarika stood as soon as she saw him enter. Her heart broke at the sight of him—his gaunt face, the bruises visible even under the shirt, and the way he struggled to walk
Tarika (softly):Abhi...
Abhijeet looked at her, his stoic mask cracking for a brief moment as he saw the worry in her eyes. The officers pushed him into a chair across from her and stood at the doorstep with a space giving them privacy,
Tarika (sitting down, her voice trembling):Yeh sab kya ho raha hai, Abhi? Tum itne injured ho... yeh log tumhare saath aisa kyun kar rahe hain?
Abhijeet leaned back in the chair, his voice barely above a whisper
Abhijeet:Yeh unka tareeka hai sach ugalwane ka, Tarika. Par main sach bolun toh Aarav aur sabki jaan khatre mein hai
Tarika reached out instinctively to touch his hand, but the officers cleared their throats in warning. She pulled back, tears welling in her eyes
Tarika (pleading):Tum kyun sab kuch akela seh rahe ho? Mujhe sach batao, Abhi. Kya chal raha hai?
Abhijeet's eyes filled with unshed tears as he looked at her.
Abhijeet:Raj Singhania ne Aarav ko kidnap kiya tha, Tarika. Usne dhamki di thi ki agar main uske liye kaam nahi karunga, toh Aarav kabhi ghar nahi lautega. Main unka game khel raha tha... sirf Aarav ko bachaane ke liye
Tarika gasped, her hand flying to her mouth.
Tarika:Aarav? Woh... woh baccha? Aur tumne yeh sab kuch sirf uski raksha ke liye kiya?
Abhijeet nodded, his voice breaking.
Abhijeet:Aur kya karta, Tarika? Woh meri responsibility hai. Main usse kuch hone nahi de sakta tha. Par main yeh sab kisi ko nahi bata sakta tha... kyunki...
He hesitated, his voice dropping even lower.
Abhijeet:IB ke andar koi hai jo Raj ke saath mila hua hai. Agar maine kuch kaha, toh woh Aarav... ya tum logon ko nuksaan pahuncha sakte hain.
Tarika's tears spilled over as she leaned closer, her voice shaking.
Tarika:Tum kyun apni zindagi ka daav laga rahe ho, Abhi? Tumhe pata bhi hai tumhare bina hum kya karenge?
Abhijeet gave her a faint, tired smile.
Abhijeet:Tarika, agar meri zindagi dekar main tum sabko bacha sakta hoon, toh main woh daav kab ka laga chuka hoon
Tarika shook her head, her hands trembling.
Tarika (firmly):Main tumhare saath hoon, Abhi. Aur main promise karti hoon, hum tumhe yahan se nikalenge
Before Abhijeet could respond, the officers returned.
Officer 1(gruffly):Time's up. Chal
They grabbed Abhijeet by the arm, pulling him up from the chair
Abhijeet looked at her one last time as they dragged him away.
Abhijeet (whispering):Sab theek ho jayega, Tarika. Bas bharosa rakho
Tarika stood there, watching helplessly as they took him back to his cell. Her heart ached, but she wiped her tears and turned around, her resolve hardening
Tarika barged into the study, where ACP Pradyuman, Manoj, and Daya were huddled around the laptop. They looked up in surprise as she entered, her face pale and streaked with tears
Tarika (angrily):Aap sab yahan baith kar plan bana rahe hain, aur wahan Abhi... woh mar raha hai!
ACP Pradyuman (alarmed):Tarika, kya hua? Kaisa hai Abhijeet?
Tarika (voice breaking):Unhone uska kya haal kar diya hai, sir! Woh chal bhi nahi paa raha tha... uski poori body bruised hai. Aur phir bhi, woh... woh sirf Aarav ki baat kar raha tha
Daya clenched his fists, his jaw tightening in rage
Daya:Woh itna kuch seh raha hai aur hum ab tak use wahan se nahi nikaal paaye
Manoj:Tarika, kya usne kuch aur kaha?
Tarika:Usne kaha IB ke andar koi hai jo Raj ke saath mila hua hai. Agar woh sach bolta hai, toh Aarav... ya hum sab khatre mein hain
ACP Pradyuman's face darkened, his voice low and filled with determination
ACP Pradyuman:Abhijeet ke liye woh log jitna marzi kar lein, lekin main apne bete ko wapas laakar hi rahunga. Aur Raj Singhania... woh is baar bachega nahi
Tarika nodded, wiping her tears
Tarika:Woh hum sab par bharosa kar raha hai, sir. Humein jaldi kuch karna hoga
The room filled with silence, each person lost in their thoughts, their determination growing stronger to bring Abhijeet back home
