In Class 2-A's classroom...

Soon enough, classes were finally over. For some reason during classes, Midoriya felt his stomach tighten for a moment there. He felt something happened and thought about Marinette. He didn't understand why he felt this way, but hoped that she was okay. Whatever was going on with her, he wondered if he should call her just to check in on her.

Everyone was grabbing their hero costumes, ready to start hero training. Even Skylar was ready to start hero training as she reached over to grab her hero costume case. Her eyes lit up, knowing full well that her hero costume was finally ready. He remembered Mr. Aizawa telling her before classes resumed that her hero costume was finally ready.

He could tell that this news helped her feel better. After what happened with her father, he hoped that they could still hero train together. He was still somewhat interested in her quirk and abilities. Something about her felt so different compared to everyone else here. He felt himself get a tiny bit tired, but knew that it was because of her. Something about that made him feel a little more pumped up to see wh at she could do.

He knew that he could call Marinette later and went for his hero costume case. Once he grabbed it, Skylar shared an excited look on her face.

"We're still going to hero train together, right?" Skylar asked her, "I don't mind. I've been wanting to train with you for a while now actually."

"No. I don't mind," Midoriya said back with a smile, "Besides, I'm sure Mr. Aizawa would like you to get some training with someone from our class. It's a great way to get started even if you have been here for a few days now."

Skylar smiled, which made Midoriya feel a lot better seeing her so excited. He was started to feel less awkward around her, especially after what happened with her father. He felt bad for her and knew that she was just putting up a front because of him. He wanted her to feel better and more open around their classmates. They were living together in the dormitory anyway.

"I wouldn't mind some tips and tricks from you," Skylar said as they left the classroom, "You know, since our quirks are a bit similar. You seem to know what you're doing with your quirk. Me, I barely know what I'm doing with mine half of the time."

"Really? But weren't you recommended to come here?" Midoriya asked her, "I mean, you've gotta have some sort of control over your quirk if you're this strong. Didn't your father train you or something?"

Skylar seemed a little upset by that question, which made Midoriya want to take it back.

"S-Sorry! I-I didn't mean to bother you with stuff about your father!" Midoriya said back as he waved his arms around in defense.

"I-It's okay Izuku. I just... he did help me train, but only moves that he approved of. It was always up to him what I should do and what moves would be good for me," Skylar told him, "He's not exactly one to let me do whatever I want with my quirk."

Midoriya felt really bad even more, seeing her so upset about this. For some reason though, it didn't seem to bother her as much as before. It was like she was use to his strict training. He hoped that she knew that she was allowed to learn more and broaden her moves more here. After all, that's what U.A. was known for.

"Skylar. Don't worry about your father," Midoriya told her, "He's not here. He can't tell you what to do or what moves you can or can't use. U.A. is a place meant to help you improve your quirk and skills so you can be a great hero someday. Don't hold back. Trust me, you'll be surprised at what you're capable of when you start training here more and more each day."

Something about that brightened her up a bit. Midoriya could tell though that something about her father still bothered her. Whatever was going on with him, he knew that things between them were a bit complicated. He wanted to help her get through this, even if things were a little weird at first between them.

"Don't hold back, huh?" Skylar said under her breath.

He noticed her looking at her bracelet like it meant something to her. Her eyes looked distant like she was thinking about something. He knew that it had to do with her quirk or her father. Whatever it was, he hoped that she felt more open to training with him.

Soon enough, they all headed into their respective changing rooms to put their hero costumes on. Midoriya put his hero costume on pretty quickly, admitting to himself that he was kind of interested in hero training with Skylar. Then he noticed that he was in the first one that finished getting dressed.

"Someone's eager to hero train with Skylar," Kaminari said to him with a smile.

"I'll admit, her quirk is pretty strong and unique," Iida said to them, "It's no wonder that she was recommended by her father."

"Yeah, but he's clearly just as much of a jerk as Butterfly Bastard was back then," Bakugo told them.

Midoriya adjusted his mask, feeling a little uncomfortable talking about this with everyone in the changing room.

"Well, Skylar's been through a lot. I just want her to feel welcome here," Midoriya said to them, "She's probably feeling a little out of place. I know how that feels. She shouldn't have to go through that, especially since she has the opportunity to leave her father behind."

Everyone looked at him and seemed to understand where Midoriya was coming from. Adrien was going through the same thing and somehow even Midoriya understood. Their quirks were similar, but there was still something about her quirk that was different from his. He still couldn't quite pinpoint it and tried to shake it off for now. Whatever it was, he hoped that hero training with her would help him understand her more.

Midoriya soon left the changing room and soon spotted Skylar leaving the Girls' changing room. He spotted her hero costume, and he suddenly felt like he was back in his dream that he had not that long ago. It looked almost identical to the hero costume she wore in his dream, which really threw him off.

It was a beautiful sky blue kamino that stopped by her knees with a white undershirt underneath it. It opened up but had a sharp white design all around the sleeves and edges. There was a white belt that wrapped around her waist that held it together. She even wore blue leggings that went well with her boots. They were white that had a sharp blue design all around them. She even wore white gloves that were fingerless gloves.

Her hair was up in a messy bun with a couple of flower pins in her hair.

Something about her hero costume made him a little nervous about hero training with her. He didn't want to back out, but seeing her reminded him of his dream that he had of her. She noticed him staring at her, which made him turn red from embarrassment.

"Do you like it? My father didn't approve of most of it, but still allowed it," Skylar asked him, "I was just lucky that I could keep these flower clips in the hero costume. He's not a fan of accessories that get in the way of a good fight."

Then Midoriya eyed her bracelet, wondering if he allowed her to keep it.

"What about your bracelet? That seems pretty important to you," Midoriya asked her back, "It doesn't seem like something that he would approve of if that's the case."

Something about her face seemed a little thrown off by his question. She looked at it, and Midoriya could tell that there was more to the bracelet than he initially thought. Before she could answer, most of their classmates came running out of the changing rooms. Once everyone was done and ready, they headed towards Gym Gamma.

Midoriya walked alongside Skylar. She was excited to train, but seemed a little nervous. She wasn't very talkative as they walked together. He noticed Cat Noir glancing over at Skylar, wondering if something was wrong. Midoriya could tell that Skylar was still nervous hero training without her father around. Something about it however seemed a bit off. She played with her bracelet, and he hoped that she'd be okay hero training with him.

Soon enough, they all entered Gym Gamma. Mr. Aizawa, Ectoplasm and AllMight stood there, ready to start hero training.

"Alright everyone," Mr. Aizawa caught their attention, "We'll focusing on improving on your quirks. Whatever you think should be improved on, I want you to focus on that specifically. You'll all be working on this separately with Ectoplasm."

Midoriya noticed in the corner of his eye Skylar looking a little disappointed. She clearly needed a partner or someone to help her out. Ectoplasm was a great teacher and sparing partner, but she didn't know him. He knew that she would improve more if she started with someone that she got to know better. Without thinking, Midoriya raised his hand up in the air.

"Mr. Aizawa. I was actually hoping to hero train with Skylar here," Midoriya said to him, "She's still getting use to hero training here. We were hoping to improve her quirk together. She needs someone that she's gotten to know better. I think that this will help improve both of our quirks."

Mr. Aizawa seemed hesitant as Midoriya stood there confidently. Then AllMight walked up to him and whispered something to him. Midoriya looked at Skylar who looked a little nervous. He could tell that she was still getting use to Mr. Aizawa and his intense glare. He soon let out a sigh and looked at both him and Skylar.

"Fine. If you think this will help improve both of your quirks," Mr. Aizawa said back, "But that doesn't change anything. I still expect everyone else to do what I told them. Since Skylar is new here, she might need help catching up with everyone."

Midoriya and Skylar stood there, feeling excited to get started. Soon enough, everyone spread out and got an Ectoplasm clone to hero train with. Midoriya and Skylar stood in an area that was away from everyone else so they plenty of space. Midoriya felt a little awkward just standing there for a moment, but soon noticed Skylar getting a little nervous.

Without thinking, he placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Skylar. Don't worry about your father right now," Midoriya told her, "This is about you and what you can do with your quirk. Your father isn't here. You can finally hero train without him around. I'll help you if you need any tips or tricks."

Skylar looked down at her bracelet for a moment, which he noticed. She took deep breath in and out, ready to hero train.

"Alright. I think I'm ready," Skylar said with her usual bright smile.

Midoriya smiled back, excited to get started. Just looking at her hero costume however got to him again. He tried to shake it off and focused on hero training with her. Just standing near here made him a little tired, so he tried to shake his arms and stretch to get himself to wake up. He stretched his legs, ready to start.

"So, is there anything that I should know about before we start hero training?" Midoriya asked him, "Like, is there anything that I should know about? Things that might need to be improved on?"

Skylar looked a little nervous for some reason as she stared at her bracelet. He could tell that something about her bracelet helped her out in some way, whatever it was. She seemed hesitant to answer him, but soon spoke up.

"I know a bit of combat skills from hero training with my father. I know the basics of my quirk and how it works, but I don't know if it can be improved on in any way. It's pretty unique, but also basic. I just use my quirk to absorb energy and let it out with a powerful punch. Don't know if that can be anything more than enhanced strength."

Midoriya thought about it for a moment and wondered if he should help her the same way with One for All. They're quirks were similar in some ways, but still worked differently in some areas. She took energy around other people without meaning to. That said energy was stored inside of her, and she could release it with a single punch. He wondered if she could more with it. He looked at her bracelet, wondering if it held her back in some way. She always wore it for some reason and never took it off. For some reason, he knew that she was not willing to take it off.

"So you store energy inside of you and then release it with a single punch. It's not exactly like my quirk, but I can store energy inside of my body," Midoriya explained to her, "I can activate it whenever I want to and enhance my strength and speed. I'm wondering if you can do the same thing with your quirk."

Skylar's eyes widened in shock, and Midoriya clearly figured something out. Something about it seemed to get her excited and got her pumped up.

"My quirk doesn't work the same way," Skylar told him, "It doesn't activate like yours does. It's always activated. I just choose when to use it."

Midoriya's eyes widened in shock, realizing how strong she really was. She wasn't just naturally strong, her quirk was also enhancing it as well all the time. He knew then right away that she was holding back. He didn't know how to handle this, but shook it off and kept going.

"Okay. Why don't you show me something that you know how to do or a special move that you've been working on," Midoriya told her.

Skylar got excited as she nodded. She was about to perform it, then she looked up at Midoriya.

"You might wanna step back," Skylar said to him a little nervously.

"Oh! R-Right. Sorry," Midoriya said back as he gave her some space.

Skylar took a deep breath in and out, causing a few classmates to watch her. Midoriya noticed her eyes glowing blue. What he didn't notice before is that her eyes spark a little when they start to glow. It reminded him of One for All, but it was less all over the place. It looked like it was more contained into her eyes rather than her whole body for some reason. Before he could prepare himself, she got in a stance that surprised him. She soon used the same move as she punched the ground with a mighty yell.

That caused the ground around her rumble and crack, and Midoriya had to back up one more step so he wouldn't get caught in it. Everyone noticed her make the entire gym shake, which shocked them. Midoriya knew that she was strong, but he could've sworn that she wasn't this strong before. He felt like she was letting lose a bit more now that she was a part of their class.

Once the ground stopped shaking, Skylar looked up at him. Midoriya froze in place, noticing the glowing in her eyes looking much more intense. Something about them made chills go up and down his back. Something about her quirk felt even more familiar, but he didn't know why. Something about her strength felt like something he had faced before. Soon the glowing around her eyes died down, and Midoriya looked at the ground. It was damaged and circled around her so perfectly.

"Well, how was that?" Skylar asked him, "I've been practicing more with brute force. My father says to hold back all the time though. That's probably for the best."

Midoriya could tell that her father was pretty strict with her quirk. He seemed to be either cautious with her quirk, or just wanted her using it a certain way. Whatever the case, he felt like he needed to help her in some way. Her quirk was strong, and he wondered if he could help her improve in some way. He walked up to her, ready to keep going.

"Considering you've started here, I'd say that was pretty impressive," Midoriya said to her, "I'm wondering if you can use it more strategically. You said that you know a bit of combat. If that's the case, you could probably use that to your advantage. It's possible that you might be able to use your legs to enhance their strength and speed."

Skylar's eyes lit up, clearly shocked to hear him say such a thing.

"Really?! I never really thought of that before," Skylar told him, "I just always thought that my quirk was pretty basic. Even compared to yours, it's pretty much a basic enhanced strength quirk."

"No... With how much you're already able to store up, you could really do so much more with your quirk," Midoriya told her, "If it's able to store up energy all the time, you could use that to your advantage. I have to activate my quirk before using it, but you don't have to worry about that. I'd say if you can find a way to use your legs and improve on your combat training, you could really do a lot with your quirk."

Skylar couldn't look away from Midoriya, but then touched her bracelet instinctively. He could tell that she was worried about something as she looked down at her bracelet. He wanted to know what was going on with her bracelet, but knew that she was still getting use to this.

"That's... That's crazy..." Skylar said as she looked down at her hand, "I didn't think that my quirk could do something like that. Even my father thought that my quirk could do so much more. He was always so strategic about how to go about training me, but this... This is so different. It's feels... more freeing."

Midoriya could tell that she's been through a lot. Whatever she went through, her father clearly didn't allow her to do many things. Something about it bothered him a lot in more ways than one. He wondered if her father made her wear that bracelet. Then again, it seemed like something that she wanted to wear. He shook it off for now and went back to hero training.

"Why don't we practice for a bit? Are you up for a bit of sparring?" Midoriya asked her, "Maybe it'll help you loosen up. Remember, your father is not here. Don't worry about going all out. I can handle a bit of a punch."

Skylar's eyes lit up, exciting to finally have a sparring partner.

"S-Sure! That'd be amazing!"

Another amazing chapter!

This was fun to write! I like the idea of Midoriya having someone like Skylar as competition. Something about her is interesting to me ever since I came up with her quirk. I like how this character is turning out so far. I enjoy writing Skylar a lot. I even like the relationship between her and Adrien, even if they barely know each other. I can't wait to keep going with this story. I have other things coming up that I'm excited to introduce. Midoriya and Skylar are about to spar.

What's going to happen next??

More to come soon!
