A/N: Sorry that it has been a bit since the last update, I was one day off of my once a month though, so not too bad. I recently started a new full-time job and am still trying to balance the rest of my life, but I will still try to update. I just want to make sure I put out content I like, not something rushed. Anyway, onto the chapter.

After my 8 am class, I headed home for lunch so I could be energized for my 2 pm lab, but when I got home I noticed my door was unlocked. I pulled out my phone, ready to call Jasper if needed when I saw a familiar pair of boots outside covered in mud. "Jasper, you fucking ass, you can't just come over without warning me! I thought it was an intruder and was ready to call you to clean up a body as I'm sure Hazel and Jake wouldn't let anyone unknown stay in the apartment long" I said exasperated. I don't regret giving him a key, but I guess I should've laid down some ground rules for using it.

"Sorry darlin', I was hunting nearby and got dirtier than I was expecting so I came over to shower, but then I saw that Hazel and Jake were out of food so I was about to feed them for you, I didn't know if you would come by after your class or not," Jasper said, looking sheepish.

"It's okay, just don't do it again!" I said with a laugh. "I decided to come home to eat before heading back to campus for my lab, thank you for feeding Hazel and Jake, by the way, that will save me some time here so maybe I can stop for a white chocolate mocha on the way back to the lab, I'm exhausted from my 8 am." With that, I turned into the kitchen and grabbed the stuff to make a wrap.

"What are you making, I have never seen that combination of things go together before?" Jasper said as I was putting together my food.

"It's called a wrap, I used to eat it all the time in Phoenix. It's just a tortilla, cream cheese, any choice of meat; I prefer to use pepperoni, ham, and salami, and some cheese; I usually use pepper jack or habanero jack." I told him what I was adding, wrapped it, and took a bite. "It's surprisingly filling and I love them because they're portable too. I'm going to head off to my lab, my guess is it will end around 3 so I should be home around 3:30, shoot me a text if you decide to stay so I'm prepared for you this time." I laughed then left and locked the door behind me. I arrived at my lab with ten minutes to spare, coffee in hand, so I sat outside to savor it while it was hot before putting it under the sign that said DRINKS HERE and heading inside the class. I sat towards the front so that I would be able to clearly see the professor and waited, knowing today would be boring but excited for what the lab would bring in the future.

When I got home at 3:30 I noticed the door was locked. I hadn't gotten a text from Jasper so I assumed he left and went inside. "Hazel, Jake, I'm home!" I said while putting my bag away and taking off my shoes.

"Hey, Bella! Glad you're home! Jasper was talking about Peter on the phone today, something about a - Oumph! Hey! What was that for Hazel?"

"Sorry Bella, Jake you know that Jasper said that it was a surprise for Bella and not to tell her anything! Jasper seems like a nice guy, and it sounded like a good thing, so don't ruin it!"

Well that didn't sound good, why would Peter and Jasper be planning something, and why would it cause Jake and Hazel to fight over whether to tell me or not?

"Hazel, I know what they said, but Bella hates surprises, and what kind of snake would I be if I didn't tell her?"

"Tell me what Jake?" I asked.

"Well, you see-" but before Jake could finish there was a knock at the door.

"Now Jake, don't tell Kitten anything please, I promise you she will like this surprise. Hey Bella, mind if I come in?" I heard through the door. How did Peter manage to show up right as Jake was going to tell me the surprise? How did he know to get here right then, or was it a coincidence? I didn't believe it could be a coincidence, it was too perfect.

"Sure Peter, come in," I said as I opened the door. "Though I will have you know I do hate surprises, they never end up well for me." I trailed off, thinking about the last surprise that was for me and how that ended. I zoned back in when I realize Peter was poking me. "Huh? Sorry, I must've zoned out."

"You sure did Kitten. It couldn't have been that bad could it?" He asked.

"I'd rather not talk about it honestly," I said shortly. He didn't need to know anything about it, it didn't concern him. "I just don't like surprises, so please whatever you're planning, just tell me or know it won't end well for me."

"How 'bout this, you tell me what is so bad about surprises and I tell you the surprise, deal?" He looked at me expectantly.

I just stared at him. "Actually, I have some homework to do, so I'm going to head to my study, feel free to hang around, but please don't come into my study unless it's an emergency," I said quickly then retreated to his slight nod, he seemed to be contemplating something but I didn't want to think about what. I didn't really have homework, it was syllabus day, but I was hoping he didn't realize. Instead, I wanted time to try to figure out what was up with Peter and why he seemed to be fishing for information on my life.
