CHAPTER 4:
The gang had arrived in New York and had changed into their Halloween costumes.
"You did quite a good job with my costume," Jade complimented Cat. She straightened the long black dress that fell to her feet, and tightened the silver chain that hung around her waist and drooped to one side. She also fluffed her hair, and adjusted the long, flowing black veil around her head.
"Thanks," Cat said, admiring her own fairy wings and her short glistening fairy dress.
"Yeah this vampire costume is amazing, Cat," Beck said. He had on a white long-sleeved shirt and a black shiny waistcoat, with black pants. He also had white gloves on, and a long black cape lined with red satin.
"I still think you should have slicked your hair back," Cat said, reaching her hand towards Beck.
"Cat, leave his hair alone," Jade said quickly, smacking Cat's hand away, already loving the way Beck's hair was.
"I personally love my costume," Trina said in awe. She had a black long-sleeved, tight-fitting shirt with gray cuffs, as well as a pair of tight-fitting black pants and thick black heels. "I feel just like Black Widow, not gonna lie."
"And I love my crazy scientist costume!" Robbie said happily. Robbie's costume consisted of a large white lab coat, with matching jeans. He also had fake white hair, singed at the ends, and a lot of fake scientific gadgets inside of his pockets.
After a few moments of talking, they all decided to get taxis to the party. They separated in groups and piled into a couple of taxis, and in no time at all, they had arrived at the apartment and made their way to the door.
Cat knocked on the door and Andre opened it. "Howdy do, buddy," Robbie said to Andre
"What are you guys all doing here in New York? Come on in!" Andre said, excited. He started to hug them.
"We missed you guys so much!" Cat said, arms around Andre's shoulders.
After hugging Robbie, Beck, and Cat, Andre stopped before hugging Jade, aware of her issues with personal space. But she surprised him by initiating the hug herself.
"Tori is going to be so excited to see you guys!" Andre told them, smiling at everyone, including Tori's parents. "By the way, amazing costumes, guys!"
"Thanks. Cat made them," Jade said confidently. "Where's Tori?"
"She's in the kitchen. I'll let her know you are here," Andre said.
"No," Cat said quickly, raising her voice above the music. She looked around at the others in their costumes. "Let us surprise her. I want it to be super duper special."
"Well, your call! Look, she's just over there." Andre pointed at the counter.
The gang proceeded to the counter without making a big scene, trying to act natural. "I'll have a punch, thanks," Cat spoke first.
"Got any coffee?" Jade asked, tapping her long, freshly painted acrylic nails on the table. Cat turned around to look at her. "What?" Jade said, shrugging. "It's jetlag."
"Sure," Tori said vaguely. Then she stopped and then looked up. "JADE," she gasped. She looked around at the others. "CAT, BECK, ROBBIE, TRINA, MOM AND DAD! What are you guys doing all the way out here?"
"VISITING and enjoying your party!" Cat said joyfully. "I saw you on Twitflash!"
"Wait, you have notifications on for my account?" Tori asked.
"Indeed!" Cat smiled. "So we thought we'd come to New York! I love what you did with the place by the way."
"Well, thank you!" Tori said happily. "Andre helped a lot as well. I love, love your costumes!"
"Especially mine?" Trina hinted, showing off.
"Yeah, sure," Tori joked. "Is Leah with you guys?"
"No; she couldn't come, poor thing," Holly said. "School and everything. But she's going trick-or-treating with Trixie."
"That sounds like fun!" Tori said.
"You've really outdone yourself with the apartment," David told Andre, looking around.
"Thanks. Tori and I found the perfect place just in time," Andre said.
"Andre, come to think of it –" Holly began. "Who's taking care of your grandmother?"
"My cousin Kendra is," Andre replied. "Kendra says that my grandmother can stay with her as long as she likes. I mean – as long as she can handle her, if you get my drift."
"Let's hope that works out for the best," David said.
"Well, you've come to party," Tori stated. "So let's party!"
Tori updated her status on TheSlap which read: "BEST NYC HALLOWEEN EVER - MOOD = Ecstatic".
