Percy and his friends all yelled out as they were travelling through the portal. They had no idea where it was going or where it would lead, but they didn't think it was going to be a peaceful neighborhood with all those monsters coming through.
Annabeth reached Percy whom she embraced, while Piper was embracing Jason.
"I'm scared!" Annabeth said. "Where are we going!?"
"Wherever it is, we will be fine! As long as we are together!" Percy exclaimed.
Annabeth stared at Percy and then hugged him again, and he just hugged her back.
They looked up and then saw the end of the portal approaching. Percy shielded his eyes and they all entered the wall of light.
Almost immediately, they were all thrown out and landed in cold ground.
The portal behind them immediately closed, and everyone stood up, and shivered.
They suddenly realized they were standing in snow. A snowy forest to be exact.
"Yikes!" Annabeth shivered. "It's cold!"
"Oh gods, why are we in a snowy forest!?" Jason exclaimed. "Where are we even!?"
Percy stood up and looked around. He didn't know what it was, but somehow, this place seemed familiar.
"This place, not just the forest, but this...world, it feels familiar," Percy said. "Why do I feel like I've been here before?"
"Maybe a dream?" asked Annabeth who shivered with her arms folded.
"No I seriously have been here!" Percy said turning around. "I swear it! This energy! This flow of life! I can hear and feel the water but it's not mine or my Poseidon's!"
Everyone was staring at Percy, and for some reason they looked scared.
"I'm not trying to scare you guys," said Percy. "But I swear, I feel like I've been here before."
"Uh...we're not scared of you!" Piper gasped. "There's...there's someone standing behind you!"
"What?" asked Percy.
Suddenly, a dark looming shadow appeared right over Percy. Percy didn't turn around, but instead he looked down, and he gasped.
The shadow belonged to a man who was bald and very muscular. His entire shape reminded Percy of someone from long ago, and he looked up at his friends, especially Annabeth who was more scared or afraid than Jason and Piper.
"Annabeth," Percy said. "Does the figure behind me...have grey skin?"
"And a beard now!" Annabeth cried out.
"Well this is a surprise," said a deep hulking voice. "We meet once again, Percy Jackson."
Percy turned around, and gasped and almost screamed.
Standing behind him was a grey skinned armored man with a beard and a red battle marking over his eye. He had chains on his arms, and on his back not only did he have a battle axe, but two short blades with a fiery energy pouring off of them.
It was none other than Kratos himself. The god of war and the Ghost of Sparta. And the very god that Kronos tricked and convinced and manipulated into trying to kill Percy.
But he and Percy made up and are on good terms, or at least that's what he hoped.
Kratos stared down at Percy, and then he held out his hand, and Percy took it, helping him stand up.
"Kratos," Percy gasped. "No way. That portal we went through, it led us here!?"
"It would seem so," said Kratos. "It has been a long time hasn't it, boy?"
"Yeah, it has," he said. "You've uh, grown, I guess?"
"For you it may not seem long, but in my world, apparently time works differently," said Kratos. "It has been exactly 1002 years since we last met."
"WHAT THE!?" Jason gasped. "How is this guy still alive!?"
"Jason, this is Kratos, the god of war," said Percy. "He's the god who tried to kill me several years ago."
"I must once again apologize for that," said Kratos. "I was not myself. It was like some kid who never heard my stories or knew anything about me completely altered me and turned me into some wannabe winner who wanted to kill a kid over killing a god, and it was completely out of character for me entirely." (WINK WINK LOL)
As he said that, Kratos looked like he was staring off into the distance, almost looking at someone who wasn't even there. But the heroes paid no attention to that.
"Kratos, I'm sure you remember Annabeth," said Percy.
Kratos looked at Annabeth and nodded.
"I remember you greatly," he said.
"So do I," Annabeth said, with slight scorn. She still was sore over Kratos trying to kill Percy.
"And Kratos, these are our friends," said Percy pointing to Jason and Piper. "Jason, son of Zeus, and Piper, son of Aphrodite."
Kratos snorted.
"Uh, I'm sorry?" asked Jason. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No not you," Kratos said. "I am the son of Zeus myself as well. And unfortunately, my father was probably nothing like yours."
"Wow really?" asked Jason. "That's, uh, either awesome or not awesome at the same time."
Percy chuckled, and then another breeze of cold snowy air blew and everyone shivered.
"Kratos what happened here?" asked Percy. "Why is Sparta suffering a snowstorm?"
"We are not in Sparta anymore," said Kratos. "This is Midgard."
"Midgard!?" gasped Annabeth. "You mean like Norse mythology!?"
"Yes," said Kratos.
"So this is where you went?" asked Percy. "When you went to find a place where you could find peace?"
"I came to these lands to escape my past and start anew," said Kratos. "And I did for a long time, until trouble decided to come and find me."
"Hey brother!" said a voice suddenly. "Have you forgotten about me? Mind lifting me up so I can say hello?"
"Uh, who's that?" asked Percy. "Where is that coming from?"
"Sounded like it came from Kratos," said Piper.
Kratos reached behind him, and to everyone's shock, and the girls' horror, it was a severed head.
A severed head with a beard, glowing eyes, and horned, and that was still alive!
"Ah hello there kids!" said the head. "So brother, this is the Percy Jackson you told me about! Son of Poseidon right?"
"Uh, uh, yeah?" asked Percy, feeling freaked out talking to a severed living head.
"No need to be alarmed by my appearance, and lack of the rest of me," said the head. "My name is Mimir, and I known to be the smartest man alive!"
"Hey I know about you!" gasped Annabeth. "But in Norse mythology, you were carried around by Odin, not you Kratos."
"Hey lassie, we can all be lucky that Odin is no longer here to carry anyone around," said Mimir.
"If I had to take a guess," said Percy. "Anything you might know about from Norse Mythology is the complete opposite here."
"I believe you might be correct, boy," said Kratos.
Percy nodded, and then he faced Mimir.
"Okay so if you're the smartest man alive, tell me something," Percy said. "How did we get here? Why was that portal in our world, leading it to here, and where are the monsters that made it through?"
"Well lad, these portals have been appearing across all 8 realms," said Mimir. "Appearing constantly and out of nowhere, sending in monsters that either we know of or don't even know of. Some of these monsters none of us have ever seen or heard of before."
"Me and my allies have been traveling from realm to realm, hunting these beasts and closing portals," said Kratos. "It would appear you guys managed to close this portal we were coming for on your side. But it appears you were all sucked in too."
"I'm afraid so," said Percy.
"So how do we get home?" Jason asked. "I mean, we can't be stuck here. Can we!?"
"Until this threat is solved and stopped, we cannot search for a way to send you all home," said Kratos. "We fear that if all monsters are being drawn in from other worlds specifically to ours, then it is a major threat."
"Either someone is trying to build an army, or wants to invade and take over the 8 realms," said Mimir. "But we could use all the allies we can get."
"We'll help, right guys?" Percy asked.
"Uh, yeah, s-s-sure," Annabeth shivered again.
"Not like we have a choice," said Piper, with her teeth chattering.
Suddenly, everyone could hear a falcon crying and they saw one flying towards them. But then suddenly, the falcon spun, and literally transformed. Right into the form of a woman.
She wore armor and a battle dress, had brown hair, a sword and a bow as well, and a pair of big angelic-like wings.
"Kratos," she said. "I got word from Sindri. He and the dwarves closed another portal in Svartalfheim. I just got back from closing a portal in Muspelheim. But I'm sure more will return, and our allies can't keep holding them off. I couldn't even catch all the monsters that came here. Some escaped."
She then looked at Percy and the others.
"Who are they?" she asked. "Armored Midgardians? Not something I'd ever see these days."
"No, they are not from these lands," said Kratos. "I'm pretty sure you remember my stories of Percy Jackson?"
"Percy Jackson?" asked the woman. "The boy you tried to kill? Because he "claimed" he was stronger than you?"
"In the flesh," said Percy.
The woman blinked and then smiled and approached him and held out her hand. Percy was amazed at how little clothing she wore yet how cold she was not.
"A pleasure," she said. "My name is Freya. Queen of the Valkyries. And Kratos'...uh...well...good friend."
Percy noticed a unusual stare between Freya and Kratos as she said that.
"You are the Norse goddess of Love and Fertility," said Annabeth. "What a coincidence you're standing in front of the daughter of Aphrodite."
Freya looked up and Annabeth pointed to Piper, who waved sheepishly.
"Interesting," she said. "Very interesting."
Suddenly, another cold gust blew, making everyone shiver again.
"I think it would be best to get out of the cold," Mimir suggested. "These lads and lassies aren't built like us."
"Indeed," said Kratos. "Come with us. We will head back to our home and discuss everything."
Percy nodded and began to follow the three of them into the forest, and Jason, Piper, and Annabeth followed behind.
Percy stared up at the back of Kratos. Kratos took Mimir and attached him back to the back of his belt. He was staring directly at Percy.
"You seem nervous lad," he said.
"Yeah well, I guess I never expected I would join forces with the Ghost of Sparta ever again," Percy admitted.
Oh boy we've met Kratos again. And now Mimir and Freya too.
You guys like what I did when Kratos talked about the past? LOL. Yeah I didn't know shit about GOW back then, but now I know enough.
See you next update!
