Captain Blues: The start of something new.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Final Mix
Episode Ten: New Faces

[Location: City Gates
POV: Tommy Oliver]

"So this is Angel Grove huh? It's pretty nice..." Tommy said as he stepped out of the backseat of a slick black limo, decked out in a black suit with a green button down beneath it with no tie around his neck. "Not as nice as Twilight Valley...But nice." The limo door on the other side opened to reveal a slightly older teenager with long slick chestnut brown hair and a pair of black glasses on his face.

He was dressed in a suit similar to Tommy's but instead of a green button-down shirt, he wore a navy blue button-down with a steel gray tie around his neck. "Must you talk down about every city you go to, brother?" the teen asked with a look to Tommy, who grinned in response.

"Well, they all can't be our city, ya know?" Tommy responded as he adjusted the green glove on his left hand. "Anyways, I just want to see what makes this city special...I mean, I don't see anything spectacular about it so why does this place of all places have monsters and the all-famous Power Rangers?"

David removed his glasses and said, "Tommy, we are here to compete in the Ninja tournament as well as to spread Father's martial arts style. We have to remember that. We aren't here to see monsters, the rangers, or anything else."

'Speak for yourself,' Tommy thought before he said, "Yeah, Yeah, I know. It sucks that they asked you to come along. I can take care of myself you know?"

"Well if Mother and Father didn't, your ass would be first in line trying to fight a monster when one appeared...You have to understand, they don't want to lose a son," David responded as he slipped his glasses back onto his face.

"They would still have you though," Tommy retorted but David chuckled.

"The only reason they have me is because they felt guilty for giving me up in the first place," David replied, which made Tommy wince.

"Sorry, D..." Tommy apologetically murmured.

David waved him off with a small grin and replied, "Don't sweat it. I don't blame you for it. You were only what? An infant to my two years?" Tommy looked down with a glum expression but his head snapped up when he felt a hand against the top of his head. Tommy looked up to see David looking up at him with a smile on his face. "I need you to understand Tommy, I may despise them for what they did but you're still my baby brother and I love you and that's why I came. Not because I care about them, but I care about you."

Tommy smiled at this and said, "Thanks, David...Now come on, let's get to the hotel."

But without warning, several sickly blue spirals appeared and over a dozen putties appeared around them, all of them circling and garbling around them.

"What the hell?!" David exclaimed in surprise.

Tommy looked surprised as well but then a confident grin formed on his face. "Looks like it's the welcoming committee," Tommy stated with excitement in his voice. "No rangers but looks like you were wrong about the monster part, D."

David chuckled, rubbed his right shoulder and replied, "As much as I hate being proven wrong, I suppose we should thank these monsters for giving us such a warm to Angel Grove. What do you say?"

Tommy smirked.

[Location: The Juice Bar
POV: General]

"When I see Rachel again, I am going to train her so hard," Trini grumbled as she stared at her drink with a glare.

When Rachel told her about her alternate self's relationship with Zack last week, it made Trini look deep within herself regarding her feelings for the ranger.

She and Zack had a deep history.

He was someone that she cared deeply for. Even when she hated him for breaking his promise and causing some huge damage to her emotionally, she still cared for him. Feelings like that couldn't be replaced...But she was still angered at the fact that his memory was gone. The memory of his betrayal, as well as the memory of their old love...

Trini shook her head and took a small breath.

She didn't want to fall back into the same spot she had been in before everything went wrong and yet...

Trini glanced up to see Zack talking with Katherine as the two walked from the counter and toward the table where Jason and Billy sat at, laughing at what Trini assumed was a joke Katherine just told him.

His smile was always infectious...

Trini watched as he peeled away from Katherine, smiled in her direction, and approached her with a friendly smile. "Hey Trini, what's up?" Zack cheerfully greeted.

Trini shook her head to rid herself of the blush and replied, "It's nothing, Zack."

"You sure? You're looking a bit red," Zack said with concern as he placed the back of his hand on her forehead. "You also feel warm too..." Zack added on with a wary tone.

Trini blushed at his touch and slid away from his reach. "I'm sure. I have a lot on my mind," Trini answered, which wasn't far from the truth.

Zack still looked unsure but nodded and said, "Well, if you start to feel sick, let me know. I can drop you off at home. I just got my license yesterday."

Trini smiled gently at the ranger and replied, "Thanks Zack."

"Why aren't you hanging with the rest of us?" Zack inquired. "We're going over battle plans regarding the tournament."

"I just needed some time to myself," Trini replied. "I'll join up with you guys in a bit, okay?"

"I gotcha," Zack nodded with a smile. "We've all been pretty close in proximity since Armada Force left. Sometimes it's good to check in with yourself. I'll leave you to it but if you want to talk..."

"I'll come to you," Trini promised.

Zack's smile grew and with a nod, he walked off to join Jason, Katherine, and Billy at their table.

Trini shook her head.

She had to stop thinking about this for now...There will be a time to handle that part of their past and right now, she had to focus on the tournament that was coming up in three days and they had to train to win.

"Remind me," Kimberly said as she plopped beside Trini, startling the yellow ranger with her appearance. "If any of us wins the Ninja Tournament, we're rewarded with ten thousand dollars and a trip to Japan if I remember right?"

Trini held her chest as she looked at the grinning Kimberly and asked, "Seriously?"

"Of course, it's not often anyone gets the jump on you, Trini," Kimberly grinned.

"Need to put a bell on you," Trini grumbled before she answered, "Your memory is solid except the trip to Japan is not only for yourself but five of your friends too. It's destined for us to win."

Kimberly tilted her head and said "Man, Mom would freak if she knew. She would probably drive me to betray you guys or something to win that."

Trini could hear the hint of resentment in Kimberly's voice at this and frowned. Trini always respected the privacy of her friends but Kimberly's resentment of her mother bothered her somewhat. Maybe it was due to her great relationship with her mother.

"I know we were at each other's throats for a hot minute but do you want to talk about it?" Trini gingerly offered.

Kimberly groaned and answered, "She's just been angering me lately...Sometimes I wish Dad was here instead of on a mission so I can stay with him..." Kimberly's eyes then widened before a guilty expression appeared on her face. "Oh darn it, Trini, I'm sorry."

Trini chuckled and replied "Kim, it is ok to miss your dad...I miss mine too every day. Just because mine is gone doesn't mean it invalidates you missing yours."

"But I-" Kimberly started but Trini raised her hand to stop her.

"I mean it...Don't sweat it," Trini replied with a smile.

Kimberly nodded, a guilty look on her face. Trini knew that Kimberly would remain guilty about her comment and it honestly felt nice that Kimberly still cared about her feelings despite their rough spot recently.

Trini opened her arms to her friend. Kimberly smiled and embraced Trini as hard as she could.

"Feel better?" Trini asked once the two broke apart. Kimberly nodded, which made Trini smile in return. "Good. Now, we should actually get some practice in for the tournament. Don't want to get caught unaware."

"Seriously, It would suck for me to have to beat down my homegirl and her friend," an unknown voice tacked on. The two turned around to see who the voice belonged to but Kimberly shrieked in surprise before she ran up to the girl and embraced her.

The girl was a Korean-American and she had her black hair styled in twin ponytails with jean overalls with a rose pink shirt underneath it and she had a large smile on her face, directed at Kimberly.

"Oh my god Cassie! You came through after all!" Kimberly exclaimed after Trini watched the two girls hop in a circle in a tight embrace.

"You know I had to! You bragged so much about the malls here that I had to check it out!" Cassie said with a laugh before the two settled down and broke apart. "It doesn't help that the Ninja tournament is held in Angel Grove this year and I wanted to show off."

"Uh Kim, who is she?" Trini asked curiously as she walked up to the two girls.

"This is Cassie Chan. She's the badical girl who I met in Twilight Valley. She's hella awesome," Kimberly introduced with a wide smile before she turned to Cassie. "And this is my friend Trini. She was the one I was telling you about. One of the best martial artists I know."

"I wouldn't go that far," Trini said with a hint of amusement in her voice but she was inwardly happy that Kimberly thought of her skills so highly. "It's nice to meet you, Cassie," Trini said as she held her hand out to the newcomer.

Cassie smiled and clasped her hand with Trini as she replied, "Likewise. I look forward to seeing your skills in the tournament."

Trini smirked and retorted, "Likewise."

Kimberly turned to Cassie and said "I'm surprised you remembered the name of this place. It has been a while since I've seen you, you know."

"You bragged about this place so much that when my folks were passing it, I had to stop in here to grab a smoothie but little did I know, you would be here," Cassie explained. "Speaking of smoothies, let's grab some!"

"So any clue on who else is in the tournament ?" Billy asked as Zack plopped down beside him.

Jason looked down at the list in his hands and replied, "Well, from the names that I remember, there is Cassie Chan, TJ Johnson, Carlos Vallerte, Adam Park, Aisha Campbell...There is also Ashley Hammond, Rocky DeSantos, Tanya Sloan, David Trueheart-Oliver, and Tommy Oliver."

"And add in the six of us, there are sixteen total...Whew, that's going to be awesome," Zack said with amusement in his voice, eyeing the list that Jason held. "So, who am I facing in the first round?"

"It doesn't tell us," Jason responded with a frown. "I was hoping that it would so I know who to look out for..."

Zack placed his hands on the back of his head and said, "Ah well. It could be worse I suppose...We at least know the names of those in the tournament. Might as well mingle with them."

Billy opened his mouth to speak when the group heard Kimberly's squeal of excitement. The foursome turned in Kimberly's direction and saw her hugging another girl they had never seen before while Kimberly's voice shouted, "Oh my god Cassie! You came through after all!"

"Well, if that is Cassie, we have our first look at a potential opponent," Katherine noted with a smile of amusement.

"Yeah, but we still need more of a look. Why don't we go spy on our opponents to see their styles and whatnot?" Zack asked the three rangers.

Katherine smiled and said, "Don't you think spying is too much of a harsh word there mate? Why don't we just say we're..."Conducting reconnaissance" on our opponents?"

"Oh I like that," Zack cheekily responded before he looked at Billy. "I like her. Perfect match."

Billy's face slightly heated up at the teasing grin on Zack's face, knowing exactly what he was alluding to. Billy adjusted his glasses and replied, "I agree with both of you. We should gather some Intel on our opponents. Well Jason, what say you?"

"I feel like it wouldn't be right to gather Intel on them but at the same time, we do need to know what we all will be up against...I say we go for it," Jason answered with a cross of his arms and a stern expression.

Katherine and Zack grinned at each other before Zack said, "Well then mates, let's get on with it!"

Katherine nodded in agreement before the two grabbed Billy's arms and dragged him along, leaving Jason to stand by himself with the list in his hands, his eyes locked on the final name.

Tommy Oliver...

That name...He couldn't explain how or why he was fixating on that name. It was like there was something he should know about this person...But what? Jason shook his head, stuffed the list into his pocket, and chased after his friends, trying to put the thought behind him.

[Location: City Gates
POV: General]

"Ok, this is by far the greatest time I've ever had!" Tommy shouted as he slammed his right leg into the face of a Putty, sending it to the ground with an impact before he adjusted his suit jacket while David lifted up another putty and slammed its back into the hood of the limo.

"Glad to see you're having fun!" David exclaimed as he twisted his body and landed a stiff right hook to a Putty's face. Tommy rolled on the trunk of the limo and kicked a Putty in the face. Tommy then landed on the ground and kicked one Putty in the knee, sending it to the ground on one knee before he grabbed the head and slammed his knee into the side of its head.

"Well, when things are this easy," Tommy taunted before he ducked a sloppy right hook from a Putty, grabbed its outstretched arm, and tossed it over his shoulder and to the ground, where he stomped on its face and turned his foot sharply.

David swayed to the left to avoid a kick from a Putty, which slammed against the limo. This gave David the chance to grab the neck of the putty, lift it into the air, and slam it on its back. David then caught the right leg of another Putty, lifted it off the ground, and slammed it into the ground. David then removed his suit jacket, tossed it to the side, and muttered, "These things just keep coming."

Tommy vaulted over the top of the limo, landed beside his brother, and replied "I know! Quite exhilarating isn't it?"

"That's the word I'm looking for," David dryly responded with a blank face. Tommy smirked at the response and watched as several putties circled the area. "In all seriousness, we do need a plan. I doubt we can fight forever," David told Tommy as he looked in his younger brother's direction.

Tommy offered a thumbs-up and replied, "We got this bro..." Just then, several more portals appeared and even more putties spilled out. "...See? We got this...Maybe..." Tommy hesitantly added before he firmly confirmed, "No, we definitely got this."

Just then, a book flew into Tommy and David's view and slammed an oncoming Putty in the head, sending it to the ground. Seconds later, a loud "Yahoo!" filled their ears and two Putties went flying into the air and crashing onto the ground.

The two turned around to see an African-American teenage girl with black braids which was tied in a ponytail, a yellow tank top, jean shorts, yellow and white sneakers, and finger-less white gloves appear in their view, slamming her right fist into the face of a Putty.

And by her side was an African teenage girl with short black hair with a sky blue sleeveless white and sky blue summer dress with straw brown sandals on her feet. She was doing a handstand, revealing her black skintight biker shorts underneath the dress as she kicked two Putties in their faces, sending them to the ground.

A Korean-American teenage male with black curly hair, a gray shirt, black pants, and black shoes also appeared in their view with his left elbow turned sharply into the head of a putty before he jumped into the air and delivered a roundhouse kick to another putty.

And then last but not least, a Mexican-American teenage male with short brown hair vaulted over the limo with a white tank top, red basketball shorts with silver trim on the sides, and red basketball shorts with his left knee sticking out and nailed a Putty in the middle of his face, sending the Putty to the ground.

The teen landed on the ground in front of Tommy and David and said "Saw you needed some help so we came."

"And good timing on that too," David noted with a grin on his face. "Name's David, this is my brother, Tommy," David said, introducing himself and Tommy, who let down his guard enough to grin at the newcomer.

The teen smirked and said, "Name's Rocky DeSantos and the bad-ass in black over there Adam Park, and the radical girls in yellow and sky blue are Aisha Campbell and Tanya Sloan respectively and we are your backup for today."

"Well, showed up at the right time," David responded as Tanya, Adam, and Aisha dashed backward to join David, Tommy, and Rocky and all stood beside each other, three out of the six panting lightly.

"Nice party you guys have here," Adam noted dryly as bounced on his toes as he wrung out his right wrist before balling it back into a fist.

Tommy grinned and said, "Apparently, It's the Angel Grove Welcoming Committee ."

"What? Your names weren't enough?" Tanya asked with a small laugh.

David shook his head and said, "I guess they were anxious for us to see the sights of the city."

"Well, if you guys don't mind us cutting in..." Rocky said as his smirk widened.

"...We'd love to assist you in beating down these pushy folks." Aisha finished with a confident smile on her face but the moment she did, three putties flew from over the roof of the Limo and in front of the group.

"Well allow me to assist," A voice shouted from behind them and when the six looked back, they saw a bald African-American teenage male on the roof of the Limo, wearing a tight red shirt and black jeans, two black MMA gloves on his hands and red sneakers.

Tommy looked back at the teen and said, "By all means. The more, the merrier I always say."

The teen grinned and said, "Introductions can wait. Let's take them down."

"Just what I wanted to hear! Let's cut loose!" Rocky shouted before charging toward the Putties, with the rest of the teens in tow.

[Location: Rita's Palace
POV: Rita Repulsa]

"How interesting," Rita noted, watching the teens fighting alongside her target with amusement on her face.

She originally wanted to test just Tommy but these other teens popped up and assisted him. But from what she saw, Tommy was skilled but she needed to test him further...

But perhaps the teens would help her further her goals...But how would be the question? "It matters not for now..." Rita decided. "This plan didn't work out but let's see how my plan B works out."

Rita then chuckled as her eyes gleamed with evil intent.

And she had the perfect monster in mind for the test...

[Location: The Juice Bar
POV: General]

"He's so stern in class but when it's just him and I, he is such an adorable guy..." Cassie swooned as she finished her smoothie, a love-struck look in her eyes but then she sighed and said "I just wish I knew what it would take for things to progress..."

Kimberly and Trini looked at each other in amusement.

For the last few minutes, Kimberly had been catching up with her friend that she met in Twilight Valley, and when Kimberly asked her, "What's new in her life?" Cassie had told the two of them about her crush TJ Johnson, one of the participants in the tournament.

From what she explained, she had met him in her martial arts class and was instantly smitten with him and while the two are friends, she didn't have an idea how to change their relationship.

"Well...Perhaps Trini and I could help you and TJ get together," Kimberly suggested with a smile on her face. "I mean, Trini has some experience in capturing the attention of her crush and I'm a natural at romance. Hehe, maybe we'll be exactly what you need to hook you two up."

Trini was conflicted.

Yeah, she was quite successful at opening up her crush's eyes to her affections but things between her and Zack were odd at best...But still, Cassie looked excited at the prospect of the two of them helping so how could Trini refuse?

"I'd be glad to help you," Trini decided after a moment.

Cassie squealed and moved against the table to embrace the two of them and said, "Thank you! Thank you!"

Kimberly laughed as Trini patted the other girl's back before the three separated but as they did, Bulk and Skull busted into the Juice Shop, and in unison, they shouted, "Turn on the TV, stuff is going down!"

Kimberly and Trini looked at each other as Bulk rushed to the TV and turned it on to reveal the news, which showed a split screen of the Power Rangers fighting at the park while on the other screen, it showed a group of teens battling the Putties as well.

Cassie gasped in shock and exclaimed, "What the hell?! Those guys are the ones that TJ and I were talking to on the bus!" Cassie's eyes then widened. "Is that TJ?!"

"We need to go now," Trini whispered to Kimberly, who nodded in agreement.

However, Cassie must have heard it because she turned to them with narrowed eyes and said, "Are you guys going to help those teens and TJ? Count me in."

Trini opened her mouth to respond that it was too dangerous but Kimberly placed a hand on her forearm and said, "Look at her face...She's only follow anyways."

Trini shut her mouth and nodded.

[Location: Angel Grove National Park
POV: General]

"Man...We've searched high and low and we haven't found anyone yet," Zack complained as he leaned against Katherine and yawned while Katherine rested her head on his shoulder, both of them sitting underneath a tree with bored looks on their faces.

Meanwhile, Billy and Jason were looking at the list of fighters participating in the tournament, both with frowns on their faces. During their trek, the four had found an updated list of participants and this time, they had pictures of all of the fighters, which made it so much easier to find them.

But so far, nothing.

"You would think with the tournament being in two days that we would have seen someone from it by now," Billy noted before he blinked and said "Other than that Cassie girl."

Jason slipped the updated list back into his pocket as he said "Well, we just need to continue and find them."

Just then, several swirls of energy appeared around the rangers and dozens of Putties appeared around the four rangers. "Well, that journey can wait!" Katherine exclaimed in surprise as Zack jumped to his feet and kicked a Putty in the face.

Jason leaped to the side to avoid a charging Putty and stuck his foot out, causing the Putty to fall face-first into the ground where Billy leaped into the air and rammed his elbow into the back of its head.

Billy then rolled to the side and flipped up to his feet and caught the right foot of another Putty and that was when Billy ducked, revealing Jason's foot, which slammed into the Putty's face, sending it to the ground.

Katherine and Zack rolled forward and hopped up to knee a Putty under its chin, sending it to the ground before Katherine ducked, allowing Zack to do deliver a roundhouse kick to the Putty that had tried to sneak up on Katherine.

Once Zack landed on the ground, he bent down to allow Katherine to use his back as a base as she placed her hands on his back and vaulted herself off of her feet and across his back to kick two Putties in the face.

Zack then rose to his feet and decked a Putty in the middle of his face then kicked it in the chest into a group of Putties that were marching towards him and said, "This is a lot more than we were expecting."

Katherine swayed to the left and then right to avoid the punches of a Putty before she grabbed its arm and tossed her over her shoulder. "I agree. I think we should morph," Katherine said.

Billy ducked a right hook from a Putty, grabbed its left arm, and pushed it forward before pulling it into a clothesline before he nodded in agreement.

Jason landed a brutal kick to the side of a Putty's head then whipped the same leg to the left and an angle to slam his foot against the head of another Putty before he nodded and said "Alright then guys! Let's do this!"

He pulled out his morpher as the other three teens joined his side and removed theirs as well. "It's Morphin Time!" Jason shouted.

[Morphing Grid
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers]
(Theme of Morphing - Infinity Mijinion Stage from Megaman X6)

Zack, Jason, and Billy found themselves falling down the black void, their bodies glowing in their respective colors when each of them saw their power coins in the middle of a glowing orb, each one in their individual colors.

The three teens dove down and slammed into the orbs at top speed, causing five streaks of lightning to shoot down to the ground.

The black streak of lightning and the lightning formed a male's body on one knee. The glowing black and white male figure got on his feet and forced the energy away from his body, revealing Black holding his Power Ax. Black swung his ax twice before placing it on his right shoulder and pointed a thumb at his head as he shouted, "Mastodon!"

Moments later, a blue streak of lightning slammed a few feet away from Pink. It formed a male form before it rose and forced the energy away, revealing Blue with his Power Lanc. Blue twirled the lance in the air before slamming it on the ground as he shouted, "Triceratops!"

Finally, a minor streak of red lightning slammed in between Pink and Blue in the shape of a sword, and moments later, a large streak of red lightning slammed behind the blade.

A hand reached out of the lighting as it reached out and grabbed the hilt, and the moment it did, the lightning exploded, revealing Red, who was kneeling on one knee.

Red slowly stood up from the ground and pointed it into the air as he shouted, "Tyrannosaurus!" As he did, each of the Rangers' zords appeared behind them and roared in victory.

[Morphing Grid
Katherine Hillard]

(Theme of Morphing - Fairy from The King of Fighters '96)

Katherine found herself floating in a black void as a violet aura flowed around her body. The Aura began to swirl around her body slowly at first until it began to pick up speed until she was in a glowing orb.

Katherine curled herself into a ball, causing the orb to shrink slightly before she unfurled herself quickly, causing the orb to explode in brilliant light, revealing Katherine in her ranger suit, without her helmet and armor.

A silver orb with her power coin floated in front of her and without any hesitation, Katherine grabbed the orb and crushed it within her hand, causing silver and white streaks of lightning to slam against her body, forming the silver vest-like armor as well as the silver trim on her boots and gloves.

And finally, a violet and silver of lightning slammed into her head and once it faded, her helmet was on her head.

Violet landed on a pillar in the middle of the ocean, rose to her feet, and shouted, "Rahonavis!" before swinging her left arm into the air and snapping her fingers, causing an explosion of water behind her, revealing the Rahonavis Zord to screech in victory.

[Location: Angel Grove National Park
POV: General]

"Alright guys, let's do this!" Red exclaimed as he dashed forward with his Power Sword in his hands, the blade glowing a bright red.

Violet held her Power Whip Sabre and spun it in her hand before she twisted her body sharply, causing the swords to break apart and slice through several Putties that were around her.

Blue twirled his Power Lance and launched it towards a Putty, striking it in the chest and sending it backward into more of its brethren before he dashed forward, grabbed the lance, and swiped it downwards, striking two Putties in the chest.

Black changed his Power Ax to the Power Cannon and ran forward as he fired it repeatedly, causing the Putties to explode and fly around with each shot as he laughed victoriously.

But what the four rangers didn't see was two people watching them with wide eyes in shock.

[Location: Angel Grove
POV: Kimberly Hart]

"Damn it, can this car go any faster?" Kimberly heard Trini mutter in annoyance as the car swerved left and right at breakneck speeds.

Kimberly couldn't help but giggle at the sullen look on Trini's face and said, "There, there sweetheart. It's not all bad."

"Speak for yourself," Trini grumbled. "These people can't drive worth a damn. Oh! There's that hair salon you and Katherine were talking about a few days ago. Did you guys go yet?"

Kimberly's eyes lightened up and said, "Not yet but we made the reservations for it. Speaking of which, did you want to go?"

Trini nodded with a pleased expression. "Sure, I heard they do a mean French twist," Trini replied.

"Um...guys?" Cassie's voice questioned. Curiously, Kimberly looked back at the girl. "How can you guys be so blasé about this? We're going to fight some freaky monsters."

Kimberly softly chuckled and replied, "Well, we're used to doing this. I mean, monster attacks happen all the time in this city." Which was very true. Monster attacks did happen frequently but as rangers, the Putties were nothing short but a training session for all of the rangers. As long it was those short fries, they had no issues but if a monster appeared with them, that's when things became difficult.

"Well I knew that but people are usually running from monsters, not so much fighting them I'm sure," Cassie responded, which made Kimberly chuckle.

"That is also true," Kimberly replied.

"So then why so easygoing about this?" Cassie questioned. "I mean, the only people who should be super easy about fighting those things are the Power Rangers."

"True," Kimberly heard Trini mutter before the other girl added, "But while we aren't the rangers, we do know how to defend ourselves and those things aren't so tough."

Kimberly could see Cassie nod in agreement but then her eyes widened when she said, "Holy, there they are!"

Kimberly turned around and saw the group of teens fighting against the Putties but Kimberly could see a familiar teen standing in the open with a Putty's sword in his hands as a group of Putties ran towards him.

"That's a lot of Putties," Kimberly muttered but when she turned to Trini, she saw the other girl smirk.

"All the more for me to run over..." Trini said.

"Cassie...Buckle up..." Kimberly said as she slowly slipped her seat belt over her body.

[Location: City Gates
POV: General]

"So explain to me again why we signed up for this tournament?" Adam asked wryly as he introduced his right foot to the face of a Putty that had snuck up behind Rocky.

Rocky smirked when he heard the body drop behind him and punched his clay-like opponent in the stomach, causing it to lurch forward and replied, "Ah you know, show your skill to the world. Get that sweet money and prestige and that trip to Japan. This is just a bonus."

Rocky then grabbed the head of the lurched forward Putty and kneed it twice in the chest before he lifted it by the head only to drop down and slam it to the ground head first before he flipped back up and caught the foot of another putty and pulled it close by it and landed a swift elbow to its jaw, causing to go limp.

Aisha laughed beside Rocky as she swayed back from a sloppy left hook and replied, "I didn't think fighting monsters was a bonus," before she snapped forward and punched the Putty square in the middle of its face with a jab, sending it crumpling to the ground.

"Considering that the Rangers get screen time on the news for doing this, this will make us legends back home," Rocky countered as he caught the leg of a Putty, slid his leg against the Putty's other leg to trip it up, and punched it in the throat.

"If we make it back there in one piece," Adam retorted as he trapped a Putty's arm in his grasp, leading it in a circle before he smashed its head against the limo but when he turned to Tanya to continue the banter, he paused as he watched her.

Tanya was focused on the five Putties that surrounded her as her body swung side to side, her stance seeming more like a dance than a martial arts style.

The first Putty to her left stepped forward with a jab, which caused Tanya to bend backward to the flow of the punch and once she did, she placed her left hand to the ground first before lifting her right foot off the ground, followed closely by her left in a quick back walkover, nailing the Putty in its jaw with the right foot.

Tanya remained in a handstand as she twisted her body to force the four remaining Putties to back away from her before she spun her body and her hips quickly which caused her legs to rotate similar to a helicopter as the heel of her feet to take out the two Putties to her left.

She then placed her two feet on the ground and moved forward as if she was going to punch the third Putty in the face with her right hand but when she leaned forward into the feint, she suddenly bent to the right, placed both hands on the ground and bought her left leg up and raised her body to kick the Putty in the face.

Tanya then rotated her body to get back to her feet where she then turned to see the last Putty running towards her, which caused Tanya to bend forward and place her right hand on the ground into a handstand, followed by a twist with the hips and a split and slammed her foot against the head and upper body of the Putty, crumpling it to the ground.

Adam was surprised at how she flowed with her movements. It was very crisp and each move flowed into the next one. He had only known her for a very short time, meaning, he saw her on the bus he, Rocky, and Aisha were on, but he didn't get a chance to talk to her until they saw that guy Tommy and David in a fight.

What in the world was her fighting style?

He had to learn more.

"Yo Adam, head in the game," Aisha said suddenly, snapping Adam from his thought just in time for him to swing his body backward to avoid a Putty's kick.

Adam kicked the leg of the Putty into the air before he moved behind the Putty, trapped the Putty's left arm and leg into his grasp before throwing himself to the ground, slamming the Putty onto the ground hard.

"Thanks, Aisha!" Adam shouted as he rolled to his feet.

Aisha waved at him and said "No problem!" before she swarmed close to the Putty she was against and slammed her right shoulder against its torso before rising and striking with a hard uppercut, sending it to the ground.

She then weaved side to side to avoid the quick jabs of the second Putty that approached her before taking a step closer and landing a hard liver shot, making the Putty bend around her first before she rose and landed a right hook, which sent it to the ground.

"Whew, this is far too easy," Aisha stated cockily but as Rocky turned to her to respond, he noticed that the Putty had a sword in its hands and instantly grew panicked.

"Aisha, duck!" Rocky suddenly shouted to Aisha as he ran towards her. Aisha ducked as commanded just as the Putty swung its sword, barely missing the top of her head.

Rocky then leaped into the air with his right arm cocked back as the Putty looked up and began to swing the sword. The sword struck Rocky in the side, leaving a deep cut while Rocky landed a sharp elbow to the middle of the Putty's face, sending them both to the ground.

Aisha turned around as Rocky held his side and muttered, "Shit. That's not good."

"You idiot," Aisha said in concern as she knelt by his side with a frown on her face. "Why did you do that?"

"Couldn't let you get killed by that thing," Rocky retorted as he winced in pain, blood seeping through his fingers.

"Stupid," Aisha murmured in concern as she pulled Rocky to the side of the limo and said, "Stay put or else I'll knock you out."

"Promises," Rocky muttered with a small laugh.

Aisha moved away and shouted, "Guys, We're going to need some help! Rocky's wounded!"

"Great, that's good to hear at a time like this," David exclaimed from the other side of the limp as he slammed a Putty to the hood of the vehicle before he slammed his elbow into the middle of its face before he kicked it into three Putties on the other side of the limo that was engaged in combat with TJ.

TJ nodded his thanks to David before he turned around and blocked a left hook from the Putty with his right arm before he pushed it away and responded with a left hook, downing the Putty before he sprinted forward and jumped into the air to clothesline two Putties that were running towards him.

TJ rolled to his feet and blocked a low kick that was aimed at his head and he quickly twisted his body and slammed his elbow into its knee, causing the Putty to fall to the ground where TJ then punched its face.

TJ released the leg and got back onto his feet only to leap up and punch another Putty in the face, sending it crumbling to the ground.

TJ dodged two quick jabs of another Putty by leaning backward before he kicked the midsection of the Putty before following up by swinging his stretched-out leg upwards and kicking the Putty off of its feet and onto its back.

TJ turned to see a Putty coming near the downed Rocky and Aisha was currently battling off two other Putties. TJ sprinted forward and whistled sharply as he got closer, causing the Putty to turn around only to receive a flying dropkick, which sent the Putty crashing into its brethren who were fighting Aisha.

Aisha turned around and said "Thanks for the assist."

TJ nodded and said "Anytime. I'll help you guard him until the others are with us."

Meanwhile, Tommy had just delivered a roundhouse kick to the head of Putty when he noticed two Putties with swords coming towards him and growled.

The first Putty swung its blade at a downward angle, which caused Tommy to jump back to avoid the slice before he ducked the wide swing and rose to deliver an uppercut to the Putty. The Putty fell to the ground and Tommy took the blade of the down foot soldier before he blocked the sword strike with his blade.

Tommy forced the blade of his opponent off of his own before slashing at the chest of the Putty at a downward angle before he twisted his body and cleaved off the head of Putty before he noticed several more armed Putties marching towards him.

Tommy ran forward and clashed his blade with the first Putty before he forced the Putty's blade to the ground and gave a head butt to stagger it before he cut its throat before he twisted his body and threw the blade into the chest of the second Putty that came his way.

Tommy ran forward and pulled the blade out of the chest and quickly dispatched another Putty by punching it in the face before ramming the blade into its head before he ran forward and delivered a flying kick to the chest of the final Putty, which sent the Putty soaring to the ground.

Tommy flipped to his feet and muttered "We're not going to last if this onslaught continues. We're going to need some help..."

Tommy then saw several putties coming towards him with weapons in the air and he steeled himself for a fight without warning, a purple convertible rammed into them, sending all of them flying into the air.

The car skidded to stop before Tommy and not even a second later, the Passenger door opened up and Tommy could feel his heart stop when he gazed upon that familiar, beautiful face.

He couldn't have been this lucky...

The girl glanced at him, curious as to why he looked so surprised until he saw her eyes narrow in thought before her eyes widened in shock, accompanied by a sharp inhale of breath.

"Tommy?" She breathed out.

"Kimberly...So you remember me after all..." He replied gently.

Kimberly felt her face flush as she glanced down at her feet and murmured,d "How could I not?"

Just then, the driver's door opened and another girl came out and said, "No time for standing about, Kimberly! We gotta move!"

The back door on the passenger side opened as well and another girl got out and shouted "TJ!" before she ran off towards the group of teenagers.

Kimberly looked to Trini's location and said, "R-Right. We can talk after we get you guys out of here."

"I can't wait..." Tommy replied before the two raced back to the group of teens, that were still battling against the Putties.

Tommy instantly gripped the hilt of his sword as he sliced his way through the remaining group of Putties while Kimberly and Trini fought their way by his side with their hands.

Trini jumped on top of a Putty's shoulders before she leaped off and delivered a drop kick to the chest of two Putties before she rose to her feet and caught the fist of another Putty and smashed the head into the driver's window, where she heard a man shriek from inside. Trini pulled the Putty's head back sharply, opened the driver's door, and told the man, "Get out now and get to safety!"

The man nodded and scrambled out of the driver's seat and ran as fast as his legs could take him. Trini ducked to avoid the foot of a Putty, which caused its leg to go into the broken window. Trini swung the door open swiftly to cause it to smash into the Putty's body, which sent it flying back into a group of Putty's that were in front of David's way.

David turned around to face Trini and said, "Thanks for the help. I thought I was going to get overrun."

Trini gave a thumbs up and replied "No problem. Now get in!" David nodded, ran towards the car, and slid across the hood before opening the passenger front seat and sat inside.

"I honestly forgot this was a car after using it as a monster smasher. Name's David," David said as he held out his right hand.

"Trini, nice to meet you!" Trini said as she shook his hand briskly. "Now let's rocket outta here!"

In the meantime, Cassie fought her way to the other side of the limo until she saw TJ, who was currently landing on the ground after a roundhouse kick to a Putty's head.

"TJ! I'm here!" Cassie exclaimed as she elbowed the back of a Putty's head sharply, sending it to the ground behind TJ, who turned around at the sound of Cassie's voice as well as the body hitting the ground and without warning, she hopped up and embraced him tightly as she whispered, "You idiot, you had me worried."

TJ laughed as he spun her around briefly before he sat her down and kicked a Putty in the chest, sending it bouncing against the now dented limo, and apologized, "I'm sorry Cassie. I wasn't expecting this to happen."

"Good. I wouldn't want you hurt trying to be a hero," Cassie responded before the two broke away to cause a running Putty to slam against the limo before falling to the ground.

Aisha snorted and said, "Yeah, unlike this idiot here hurting himself saving me." Cassie looked at a pale Rocky, who had a drained smirk on his face with his eyes closed.

He opened his right eye and said, "Rather me than you Aisha...I couldn't bear to see you hurt."

Aisha turned away and mumbled "Idiot," her face heating up due to the sincerity in his voice.

"Oh no, you're hurt," Cassie exclaimed as she glanced down at Rocky, who turned to her questioningly. Cassie knelt in front of him and reached into her purse and pulled out some medical wrap. "Lift your shirt. We have to staunch the flow before you lose too much blood."

Rocky turned to TJ and mouthed the word "Staunch?" before he groaned in discomfort when Cassie forced him to lean up to get the medical wrap around his abdomen. Once Cassie finished up, she turned to TJ and said "We have to get him out of here. My patch-up job won't last forever."

Just then, the limo revved up to life, causing the four teens to look at it in surprise. "Despite leaning on it...I forgot it was here," Rocky said in surprise. Just then, David leaned out of the passenger window and shouted "Everyone, get in here! We're leaving!"

The four teens looked at each other before TJ and Aisha pulled Rocky to his feet before Cassie opened the back door and put Rocky into it carefully before she turned back to Adam and Tanya and shouted, "Hey guys, we're leaving this place!"

Both Tanya and Adam turned back and quickly ran to the limo and once Aisha, TJ, and Cassie got inside, Tanya and then Adam got into the limo and shut the door.

"Almost everyone is in," David told Trini, who nodded, got out of the limo, and instructed, "Take the wheel and follow me. I'll be in my car." David nodded as he maneuvered himself into the front seat and began to drive off. Trini ran to her car and started its engine before she reversed sharply, running over three putties and stopping in front of Kimberly and Tommy. "Get in!"

The two teens immediately nodded and got into the back seat where Trini quickly drove off with the limo following behind them. "Whew, that was close," Trini said as she wiped her forehead.

Tommy laughed in exhaustion and replied "Thanks for the save. They aren't tough but the numbers game was catching up quickly..."

"That's how they usually go about it," Kimberly replied with a small stretch. "Wasn't expecting a fight at all but it did wonders for the tension."

Tommy shook his head as he looked at Kimberly and replied, "Yeah, I feel looser than I did before. A good fight tends to do that...But I must say, we have to stop meeting like this Kimberly."

Trini's eyes widened in surprise at this and asked, "Oh wow, you're THAT Tommy?"

Kimberly nodded with a blush on her face while Tommy grinned and replied, "So you've heard of me?"

"Oh yes, you swooned Kimberly off her feet I heard," Trini teased, which made Kimberly flush in embarrassment before she kicked the back of the driver's seat, which made Trini laugh.

"Finally," Black said as he swung his Power Ax onto his right shoulder. "I thought they would never stop."

"Bloody hell mate, that was a throw-down," Violet said as she placed her hands on her hips.

Black turned to her and said, "I just realized that your accent gets thicker during and after combat."

Violet turned her head to him and replied "Guess that's my mom coming out. Super restrained but when her blood starts pumping, the true Aussie comes out."

Black snorted and rested his left hand on top of her helmet as he replied "It's pretty cute newbie."

Violet laughed and smacked his side, which caused him to laugh as well.

Meanwhile, Blue and Red stood a few feet away from the two, the former with his arms crossed while the latter was crouched in front of a downed Putty

"Something isn't right Blue," Red said as rose to his feet. "There were more Putties than we've ever dealt with before...But why? Why so many of them?"

Blue was silent for a moment before he suddenly lifted his left wrist up and said "Alpha, do you read me?"

After a few seconds, Alpha replied, "Billy, thank goodness. I have been trying to get in touch for some time. There was a large group of Putties that attacked some civilians near the entrance to the city."

Red looked towards Blue, leaned down to Blue's wrist, and asked, "Are they still there Alpha?"

"Thankfully no. They were able to fight the Putties off. Trini and Kimberly managed to save them and escape," Alpha responded to Red, who nodded and pulled away.

"Where are they now?" Blue asked with concern.

Alpha became quiet for several moments before he finally replied, "They are at the juice bar, safe and sound."

Both Red and Blue sighed in relief before Blue thanked Alpha and turned off the transmission before he looked to Red and said "My hunch was correct. We were the distraction. But the question is, why were we the distraction?"

"And why did Rita send a group of Putties after some random civilians..." Red muttered before he turned to Black and Violet and said "Let's get to the juice bar. We have some investigating to do."

The two nodded before the four rangers changed into bolts of energy and flew off into the sky...But as they left, two people, a teenage male and female, walked out from the bushes, both of them staring at the sky in shock.

"Did we just see the Power Ranger's true identity, Carlos?" The female asked.

The male remained silent but a smirk began to form on his lips.

"I think we did..."

[Location: Sky Force Labs
POV: Charlotte Hillard]

"Sweetie, you've been working on this for several hours. Why don't you go take a nap and let me take over."

Charlotte paused mid-type as she looked at her husband with a tired grin. Ever since she had found those ranger trinkets, she had been studying them to see what they were and during that time, she found out that they were keys.

Since then, she had been staying up trying to crack the secrets of these mysterious keys.

In front of her keyboard, the six keys were inserted into a large machine, each one glowing a dull light. Charlotte shook her head and said "Sorry honey but I need to keep going. I feel like I'm moments from cracking the mystery of these keys we found at the Ranger's last battle."

Charlotte then turned around and began to type once again as she added "If I can unlock it, we could be on the cusp of creating our own rangers. Or maybe even find out who the rangers are."

Peter chuckled and said, "I still can't believe that these little keys will give us all of this information but I hope we find something at least."

Charlotte smiled before she focused back on the screen and said "I have a feeling that we will...And when I do, you'll be the first to know..."
