After everything had happened with Loki's knife Skye had been insistent on adding extra protection to her suit. After she found out that Shuri's brother had been the one to get her dad his shield she decided to call Shuri to see if there was a way they could add Vibranium to her suit for extra protection. Shuri had agreed so now Skye was with Tony in Wakanda. They were in Shuri's lab. Tony and Shuri were working on the suit while Skye watched and listened to what they said about it.

After they had been working on it for a little Tony looked at Skye. "Do you understand what we are saying?" they had been using quite a few scientific terms.

"Most of it," Skye said

Tony looked at her surprised, "the science stuff you understand most of?"

"Yes," Skye said with a small smile.

Tony nodded he was impressed.

When Skye's suit was finished she was handed a bracelet.

"I know you are used to having to put your suit on. But with this all you have to do is push this button and your suit will form around your body," Shuri said.

Skye took the bracelet and put it on before pushing the button and it did just as Shuri had said.

"Okay, that is epic," Skye said.

"This way you will have your suit with you all the time," Tony said.

"Was that your idea?" Skye asked.

"Your dads'," Tony said. "After what happened with Hydra just a few weeks ago he wanted to know if there was a way we could do something like this."

"Your suit fits within the band of the bracelet. I have some experience with making something similar for my brother when he became Black Panther," Shuri said.

Skye smiled and nodded.

"How does the suit feel?" Tony asked.

"Fits perfectly," Skye said.

Tony took Loki's knife out of his pocket.

"How did you get that?" Skye asked Tony.

"Loki let me borrow it," Tony said.

"Loki doesn't let that out of his site easily," Skye said.

"I told him the reason I wanted to borrow it. He doesn't want you hurt by it again either," Tony said.

Skye nodded.

"Is there something between you and Loki?" Shuri asked. "Because the last time I saw you two at the same time I thought one of you would end up dead."

Skye sighed. "No. Nothing but a friendship between us."

"Skye jumped in front of Loki's knife to protect Thor when someone else got a hold of it making Loki realize this Skye is not the same as the Skye from his universe," Tony said.

"Ah. That makes sense," Shuri said.

"Loki would like there to be more but I'm seeing someone else. And even if I wasn't I'm not interested in Loki that way," Skye said.

"He knows you are not?" Shuri asked.

"He does," Skye said. "So, are we testing the knife while I'm wearing the suit?"

"On a mannequin first," Tony said.

Skye pressed the button on her inner wrist and the suit disappeared off her body.

"That is so cool," Skye said.

Shuri took Skye's bracelet, put it on a mannequin, pushed the button, and it formed around the mannequin.

"So it will work on anyone who wears it?" Skye asked.

"No, it only works with your fingerprint and mine right now. I can remove mine if you want when it is done," Shuri said.

"No, I'm okay with it. If it needs repairs in the future it will probably work out well for you to have that option," Skye said.

"Okay," Shuri said.

Tony held out the knife to Skye, "You want to do the honors?"

Skye took the knife and went over and tried to stab the mannequin but the suit would not let her.

"Try it all over," Shuri said.

Skye did so with the same result. "Seems to be working."

"Now we do need to try in on you as well," Shuri said as she pressed the button for the suit to come off the mannequin and handed the bracelet back to Skye.

Skye put the suit back on and Shuri carefully tested it and it did the same thing.

"Looks good," Tony said.

Skye took the suit off again.

"That bracelet is now a permanent part of your being," Tony said.

"Got it," Skye said as she pressed the button to take the suit off. "Thank you, Shuri."

"You are very welcome," Shuri said with a smile.

The rest of the day was spent with Shuri showing Skye and Tony around Wakanda before she brought them back to New York.

"Thank you again Shuri," Skye said before Shuri went back home.

Skye and Tony went into the compound.

Steve and Bucky were sitting in the kitchen with Tucker's uncle.

"What's going on?" Skye asked slowly. This couldn't be about Tucker. Tucker didn't talk to him anymore.

"Skye, sit," Steve said.

"No," Skye said. "Tell me what's going on."

"Skyler, sit," Steve said firmly.

Skye took a breath and sat down.

"I would like for you to call Tucker. I have tried but I don't seem to have his number," Mr. Nelson said.

Skye shook her head, "I'm not getting in the middle of this."

"Please, I would not be asking if it wasn't important," Mr. Nelson said.

"Why is it so important?" Skye asked.

"It's about Carly," Mr. Nelson said.

"What? You think he is going to take the blame for what happened?" Skye asked.

"No," Mr. Nelson said. "And for the record I never wanted him to do that. Carly was responsible she needed to take the blame for it and she did. She spent three months in jail for it."

"She tried to set me up. She set Tucker up and he spent time in jail, she almost killed a cop's kid and she got three months," she said shaking her head. "How much did you pay the judge to go easy on her?"

"Skyler," Steve said sharply.

"It's okay. It's a fair question," Mr. Nelson said. "But I didn't pay anything. It was her first offense. The Judge gave her a shorter sentence in jail but she is on house arrest for a year and probation for another two years after that."

Skye let out a breath, "So what do you want from Tucker?"

"Carly was in a serious accident. She needs a blood transfusion. She has a rare blood subtyping. It's a little hard to explain but basically, someone with the same main blood type is not enough for it to be used. She needs someone who has the same blood subtype. Her mother and I are not matches. Tucker might be," Mr. Nelson said.

Skye shook her head.

"He does not need to see us at all. He just needs to go to the hospital and explain why he is there and they will test him," Mr. Nelson said. "If he is a match his blood will be taken and given to Carly."

"Is this life-threatening?" Skye asked

"Yes,' Mr. Nelson said. "She needs it pretty soon. The hospital is of course looking for donors from other sources but they want to test any family."

"I get it. He is related. But why the hell would he want to do anything to help her or you or your wife after everything you all put him through," Skye said.

Mr. Nelson took a breath, "I know my daughter did a lot of hurt to him. But my wife and I gave him a home after my brother and his wife died."

"And the second he started to make you look bad you put him in the system," Skye said. "And there are things he told me about how you treated him in your home."

"He was treated the same way we treat our daughter," Mr. Nelson said.

"Bullshit," Skye said. "I will call Tucker and tell him what's going on but don't bullshit me."

"I'm not. I treated Tucker the same way I treated my daughter," Mr. Nelson said.

"Oh, so your daughter has been put in foster care now that she has made you look bad?" Skye asked

"I didn't like the idea of putting Tucker into care. My wife convinced me it would be a good idea and it would help him make changes for the better," Mr. Nelson said.

Skye shook her head, "Well then you needed to grow a pair and stand up to your wife. You lost your brother and now you have lost your nephew. Like I said I will tell him but I wouldn't hold my breath of him coming in to save the day when you threw him to the wolves when he needed you the most," Skye said as she got up from the table and went to her room.

She took out her phone and sat on her bed before calling Tucker.

"Hey Skye," Tucker said. "How was your day?"

"It was good. I'll tell you all about it later. But right now I have to tell you something that happened when I got home," Skye said.

"Oh?" Tucker said.

"I got home and your uncle was in the kitchen with my dad and Bucky. He said he has tried calling you but doesn't have your new number," Skye said.

"Why the hell did he go to you to get to me?" Tucker asked.

"Are you sitting?" Skye asked

"Yes. Now out with it," Tucker said.

"Carly was in a bad accident. She needs a blood transfusion. I guess getting from a regular doner won't work because of some rare thing in her blood. Your uncle and aunt are not matches but you could be. If you have any interest go to the hospital and tell them why you're there and they will test you and take your blood if you are a match and are willing to donate. You will not need to see any of them. I told your uncle I would pass along the message but not to hold his breath that you would come in and save the day after how you have been treated by all of them. I support whatever you decide to do. I'm sorry I had to be the one to tell you this." Skye said.

Tucker let out a breath.

"I know, I'm sorry. I debated not telling you but I figured if you found out after the fact and I hadn't given you a chance to make the decision yourself you might hate me," Skye said.

"No, Skye. I'm glad you did tell me. It's a decision that yes I have to make. You did the right thing in telling me," Tucker said. "I just don't know what the fuck to do. How long do I have to make this decision?"

"Not long," Skye said.

"What would you do?" Tucker asked.

"I wouldn't be donating anything to Carly," Skye said. "But she is not my family."

"If you were me?" Tucker asked.

"I don't know Tuck," Skye said. "I guess you could go find out if you are a match first. Even if you are a match you don't have to donate. And it would be good to know if you have this rare blood thing too if something happens to you."

"True," Tucker said.

"I can go with you if you get tested," Skye offered.

"Thank you. I will take you up on that," Tucker said. "Do you know if I can go tonight? Should I wait until tomorrow?"

"Do you want me to ask your uncle? I'm sure he is still here waiting to hear," Skye said.

"Yes, take your phone out to him I don't want him having my new number," Tucker said.

Skye did so and went out. "Yeah. He is still here Tucker you want me to hand him the phone or put it on speaker?"

"Speaker is fine," Tucker said.

Skye put it on speaker. "Go ahead."

"I will go get tested to see if I'm even a match. That is not a promise to donate if I am. I am just seeing if this is even an option. Can I go tonight to get tested or is it something I will have to wait until tomorrow?" Tucker asked

"You can go tonight. There is someone there to test all the time, Do you need to get permission from your legal guardian?" Mr. Nelson asked.

"I got emancipated a few weeks ago. I was told I don't have to see any of you and I do not want to. So do not tell your wife or Carly I am there tonight and I don't want to see you either," Tucker said.

"Okay. I won't," Mr. Nelson said. "Thank you, Tucker."

"Fine," Tucker said.

Skye looked at her dad. "I know it's getting close to my curfew but I told Tucker I would go with him to support him."

"It's a special situation and I trust you both so yes you can go. I will drop you off," Steve said.

"Thank you," Skye said. "I will meet you there Tucker."

"Okay. See you soon. Thank you, Mr. Rogers," Tucker said.

"Of course Tucker, and it's Steve," Steve said.

Skye hung up and she and Steve left.

"Did you know Tucker got emancipated?" Steve asked as they drove towards the hospital

"I did. He was having issues getting his social worker and guardian to agree to let him do the summer program. He had to get emancipated or lose out on the opportunity. It's part of why he has been working so much. He wanted to have money saved and be able to prove he could take care of himself. It was really ridiculous that they wouldn't agree to him doing the summer program. Apparently, the judge who approved it even told the social worker and guardian they were being ridiculous."

Steve shook his head.

"I knew there was a reason I didn't like the workers at that group home. Yeah, they didn't abuse me and aren't the worst by any means but they are too strict. Like this is an amazing opportunity for Tucker. Tony even called NYU to put in the good word for him and they didn't want to let him do it," Skye said.

"That was Tony?" Steve asked.

"Oh yeah. I guess I never mentioned it to you. I only found out fairly recently. I don't intend to tell Tucker. Tony said he didn't care if I told Tucker but didn't need him to know," Skye said.

"Fair enough," Steve said.

"I thanked Tony for Tucker," Skye said.

"I'm sure you did," Steve said. "I'm really proud of you Skye."

"Oh?" Skye said.

"You have come a long way from the girl you were," Steve said. "You are always ready and willing to do everything for the people you care about and when it has come to making the really hard decisions you have always made the best choice," Steve said.

"Well I learned from the best to put everyone else before themselves," Skye said with a small smile.

"Oh yeah?" Steve asked.

"Yes. You, dad," Skye said with a smile

Steve smiled, "how was Wakanda?"

"Good, have my new suit that has Vibranium," Skye said. She held up her wrist. "It's basically all encased in this bracelet, I press the button on the bottom of it and the suit comes onto my body."

"That is very cool," Steve said.

"I know you asked Tony if there was a way to ensure I have my suit on me all the time," Skye said.

Steve smiled, "I did. So that means you have that bracelet on you at all times."

"I know, I will. I mean I might take it off to sleep," Skye said.

"That's reasonable," Steve said as he pulled into the parking lot of the hospital. Text me often. And let me know when you are done."

"I will," Skye said. "Thank you," she said as she got out of the car and went inside and found Tucker. Skye wrapped him in a hug and Tucker hugged her back.

"Thank you for coming Skye," Tucker said

"Of course Tuck," Skye said.

They went up to the desk and Tucker said why he was there and they were told where to sit and wait. They both sat down where they were sent.

"How are you doing?" Skye asked. "You were just given some scary news about your cousin. I know things are bad there but I also know she is still your cousin."

"I am trying really hard to just put the awful things she has done in the back of my mind right now. But it's hard. She set me up. But at the same time I did decide to buy the drugs that day," Tucker said.

Skye nodded.

"Be glad you've never had to make a decision about a family member who turned their back on you," Tucker said.

Skye let out a breath. She hadn't told him about her mother and that whole situation yet.

Tucker tilted his head. "Something I don't know about?"

"We can talk about it another time," Skye said.

"We have time now," Tucker said.

"Yeah but if I start talking about it now I might cry," Skye said softly.

"Okay," Tucker said.

Tucker was called back about an hour later and his blood was taken and sent to be tested in the lab at the hospital. Skye texted her dad after Tucker's blood was taken and they were just waiting for the results.

"So that is a new bracelet," Tucker said.

Skye nodded and showed him the bottom. "That button causes my suit to attach to my body. My suit is basically inside the bracelet."

"Okay that is really cool," Tucker said.

"It is pretty epic. And the suit has stuff that repeals Loki's knife so it is stronger than my last one," Skye said.

"Good," Tucker said.

Skye nodded.

"Is there anything else that you know of that can cause you fatal damage?" Tucker asked.

"I don't know. I know I have been told that variants of mine that have been met have been pretty indestructible," Skye said.

Tucker nodded

"I can still get injured but the only thing that has taken me close to death was the magic from the knife," Skye said.

"Yeah, I know you can get injured. Seems to be happening a lot," Tucker said

"Yeah, well that comes with the territory," Skye said.

"I know. I accept it. Doesn't mean I have to like it," Tucker said.

"You're right," Skye said. "I promise I've done everything I can to be as safe as possible."

"I know," Tucker said. "Skye. I wasn't saying you seem to be getting hurt a lot because I'm upset with you. I know you are doing everything to protect yourself."

"Okay. I was worried you thought I was ignoring the promise I made," Skye said.

"No. I know you're not. I know you can get hurt doing the superhero thing even if you take every precaution," Tucker said.

Skye smiled, "Being a superhero is such a weird thought."

"Well you are," Tucker said.

"I guess," Skye said. "But enough about me. Have you given any thought to if you will donate if you are a match?"

"I have no idea," Tucker said. "Part of me wants to. Part of me can't get past everything she has done to me. And to you. I'm not thinking of what her parents did to me. She is not responsible for how they treated me. But she has done a lot to hurt me and you."

"Don't worry about what she did to me. I'm not the one being asked to donate. It's not about me," Skye said.

"Well if it was Kate. Would you do it?" Tucker asked.

"That is not the same thing. Kate was working with people hell-bent on taking me and the Avengers down, my family" Skye said.

"And Carly was hell-bent on taking me down, and you. The person I am the closest to. The person I love," Tucker said.

"Yeah but," Skye said.

"Same thing Skye. Just in a different way," Tucker said.

Skye let out a breath "Wait. Did you just say you love me?"

Tucker smiled, "I did. But I don't expect you to say it if you don't feel that way or know if you feel that way yet."

Skye smiled a little. "Tucker. I do love you. I just worry."

"About what?" Tucker asked.

"If you will still feel that way if I tell you certain things," Skye said.

"Skye, if you are worried about telling me details about what happened in the thing that was all over the news. I'm sure it won't change how I feel about you," Tucker said.

"You don't know that," Skye said.

"And honestly neither do you," Tucker said. "You don't know how I will react."

"That's true," Skye said.

"You don't have to tell me until you're ready. But I think we will be okay," Tucker said

"Okay," Skye said.

A doctor came out and called Tucker in for the results. Tucker and Skye got up and went with the doctor and sat in the room.

"So, I have the results. I know you weren't sure if you wanted to donate even if you are a match. Have you decided?" The Doctor asked.

"I still don't know," Tucker said. "Is it wrong to hope I'm not a match so I don't have to decide?"

"No," the doctor said with a smile. "But know that any side effects of doing so are mild."

"I know," Tucker said. "Side effects aren't the thing that is making it hard to decide."

Skye took his hand. "Tuck. You have to decide. If you can and don't donate and she doesn't make it. Will you be able to live with yourself?" Skye said.

"Honestly. I don't think I would be able to," Tucker said.

"Then you know what you have to do," Skye said

"I guess so," Tucker said.

The doctor opened the file and took a look. "So, you are a match. And the other tests we did are all clear. You are a perfect donor."

Tucker let out a breath. "Okay. Well then let's do it."

"I'm noticing you're only seventeen. Where are your parents?" The doctor asked

Tucker took some papers out of the backpack with him and handed them to her, "I am emancipated. My parents passed away when I was young."

The doctor looked at the papers "Okay. I will need to get copies of these for the file but you are good to go."

"Those are copies. You can keep them," Tucker said

"Okay. Thank you. I will send someone in to take your blood and I will bring back these," the doctor said before she left the room.

Skye squeezed Tucker's hand. "You are doing the right thing."

"Wait. Did you think that I should be doing this from the beginning?" Tucker asked.

"I was thinking whatever decision you made would be the right decision," Skye said.

"You really don't have an opinion one way or the other?" Tucker asked.

"No. I came to support you in deciding what you wanted to do," Skye said.

"I would be so lost without you," Tucker said.

"And I would be in jail if not dead if not for you so we are even," Skye said.

Tucker smiled.

A nurse came in and set Tucker up for blood to be taken. His blood was taken and he was given some juice when he was done to make sure his blood sugar didn't drop.

"You're not squeamish about blood?" Tucker asked Skye.

"I have been diabetic since the age of two. No," Skye said. "Well, I was diabetic until recently."

Tucker nodded.

"Are you feeling okay?" the nurse asked

"Yes," Tucker said.

"Is it safe for you to drive?" Skye asked.

"I won't be driving. My car needs some repairs I didn't drive here. I took a cab," Tucker said.

"Oh," Skye said. "I'm sure when my dad picks me up he can drop you off."

Tucker nodded.

After he waited a little while to make sure he wouldn't pass out he was told he was good to go. Skye called her dad who told her that he was in the parking lot waiting.

The two teenagers went out and found his car and got in.

"Were you waiting here the whole time?" Skye asked.

"Yes," Steve said.

"You could have come in too," Tucker said.

"That's okay. I had my sketchbook," Steve said.

"Ooh. Can I see what you're drawing?" Skye asked as she buckled her seat belt.

"When it's done," Steve said.

Skye smiled and nodded.

"How are you feeling Tucker?" Steve asked.

"I'm okay. I did end up donating," Tucker said.

"I texted him that you had," Skye said.

"Okay. Well, I feel okay. Don't have any of the side effects as of yet," Tucker said.

"Good. So where are you living now if you are emancipated?" Steve asked

"Crashing at a friend's for a few days until I move into dorms for the summer program," Tucker said before telling him the address.

Steve started for the address he was told.

"Isn't that an expensive part of New York?" Skye asked.

"It is," Tucker said.

"Who is the friend you are staying with?" Skye asked

"Family who adopted Amber," Tucker said.

"Oh," Skye said surprised

"Amber is your biological daughter?" Steve asked.

"Yes," Tucker said. "By the way I owe you a thank you for not seeing that years ago and telling Skye she couldn't be my friend. For not judging me for it."

Steve shook his head, "You are young. We all make decisions when we are young that aren't the smartest. I know you took care of Skye before I knew about her. I know her life would be very different if you hadn't been in it. And I also knew that if I told her she couldn't see you she would do it behind my back."

Skye chuckled, "Yeah. I would have."

Tucker smiled and shook his head.

"How did you end up staying with them?" Skye asked.

"I told them I was getting emancipated to do the summer program. They offered their basement apartment for free for the summer while I'm not in the dorms. They rent it out to university students and don't have anyone there during the summer. I will have to figure out something else for the school year but they are amazing people. They have never held any of my choices against me. And have continued to allow me to be in Amber's life despite the choices," Tucker said.

"It's good you have that support," Steve said.

Tucker smiled and nodded.

"When are you going to get your car fixed?" Skye asked.

"In the next few days. It's already at the Smith repair shop," Tucker said. "Just waiting for my next pay cheque to come in to pay for it."

Skye nodded.

Steve pulled up to the address.

"Thank you," Tucker said as he undid his seatbelt.

"Not a problem," Steve said.

Tucker got out and went inside. Once he was inside Steve started the drive home.

"Dad," Skye said.

"Yes?" Steve said

"You said I could go talk to Sasha?" Skye asked.

"Yes. I can arrange that if you would like," Steve said.

"What about Kate?" Skye asked

"If you want to yes. They are in the same place so I can arrange that too," Steve said hesitantly

"You are hesitant about letting me talk to Kate," Skye said.

"I am," Steve said.

"Why with her and not Sasha?" Skye asked.

"Skye. Kate isn't sorry for what she has done. She has more than once told people that she isn't sorry for what she did and says when she gets out she will do it again," Steve said.

Skye let out a breath and nodded. She thought for a minute before she spoke again, "I still want to."

"Okay. If you are sure I won't stop you," Steve said.

"Has Sasha said she is sorry?" Skye asked.

"She hasn't said much at all from what I have been told," Steve said.

"Has she been told what happened to Victoria?" Skye asked.

"Yes," Steve said.

Skye nodded.

"She didn't have much of a reaction," Steve said.

"Who do you talk to who tells you these things?" Skye asked.

"Fury," Steve said.

Skye nodded.

"I will arrange for a day for you to talk to both of them," Steve said

"Okay. Thank you," Skye said.

"How do you feel about Tucker donating?" Steve asked.

Skye let out a breath. "She is a human being. She has the right to life-saving things. I just hope that by him doing this Carly changes for the better."

"I hope so too," Steve said.

Steve pulled in at home. "Everyone is going to be in bed so make sure you are quiet going in there."

"Okay," Skye said.

They both went inside and to bed.
