Stardate 12309.15- 21:04 hours- Ravenswood- Richard and Lynn's Bedroom-
"Do you think they will be all right in Christine's room? Especially if both were having nightmares last night." Richard sat on the bed, removed his boots, and rubbed his sore neck.
Lynn came around and started kneading the knots out of his neck for him, "Better?"
"You can keep doing that forever," He joked as he enjoyed her hands' work.
"I think Christine will do better in her childhood bedroom. As for Brielle, she should be all right if she is with Christine. She practically passed out as soon as Christine got her into her PJs. She had a busy day." Lynn finished with Richard's neck and kissed it quickly before she started getting ready for bed.
"Jacob had no problem with Lilly's suite." Richard changed into his sleepwear. "He said it reminded him of his room at home."
"That's good." Lynn stretched as she crawled into the bed in her silk nightgown.
Richard laid back on the pillows and headboard so Lynn could lay her head on his chest as she read. Looking down at her, "Care to tell me what that chat with Jacob was about?"
Lynn sighed and put her pad down. "Remember how you said you thought something was off about Jacob." She turned to face Richard directly.
"Yeah, why?
"Jacob had a bumpy past, and I know you have read part of his file." Lynn carefully explained.
"I will admit I pulled up his fitness report, and other than being a young kid who took a while to get his head on straight and then dealing with the aftermath of his injuries, he seemed to be an excellent officer. Why?"
Lynn sighed, unsure how to start, "Four years ago, he was notified that an ex-girlfriend had a child, and he was the father."
Quickly Lynn placed a hand on Richard's chest as she saw his eyes flare.
"Does Christine know?" Richard said coldly.
"No," Lynn admitted, "However, he is telling Christine in the morning. He wants to take Christine and Brielle to meet him."
"How could he not tell her he has a four-year-old son?"
"Six, his son Josh is six. He didn't learn about him until he was nearly two." Lynn carefully lowered her hand from Richard's chest. "Josh's mother didn't advise Jacob of the child until then. Since then, Jacob has been fighting for a chance to be a part of his son's life."
"What kind of mother keeps a child away from his father?"
"One that makes my blood boil." Lynn pursed her lips. "Jacob asked if I could have some security officers assist with him picking his son up tomorrow at 10 AM. Before you asked, I had already confirmed that he has the right to see his son. So, it turns out he can have his son the whole time he is here on earth up to 30 days."
"What is the problem then? It's not like this family wouldn't accept Josh."
Lynn sighed, "Jacob believes the mother will interfere and block him from seeing his son."
"That's not going to happen if I have anything to say about it," Richard grumbled as she settled back down.
"Same here." Lynn laid back in his arms. "I'm just concerned about how Christine will react to this."
"You and me both." Richard shut the light off and held Lynn, trying not to let his mind spin over the what-ifs.
