Bobby and Lincoln stumbled back to the house, where Lori, Luna, and Rita were standing on the porch, looking concerned.

Lisa burst through the door looking panicked" What happened? Where is Ronnie Ann"?

Lori ran next to Bobby, trying to console him, but Lincoln struggled to form a sentence. He could still see the sorrow in Ronnie Ann's face; the pain of the transformation.

Lisa's eyes widened and her face went pale " Did she transform?

The sound of a car horn drew everyone's attention to the brown car in the driveway...

"Mama" was all that Bobby whispered before Maria and Rosa stumbled out of the car, looking frazzled.

Rosa was wringing her hands and whispering prayers under her breath, while Maria looked absolutely exhausted.

"Where is Ronnie Ann? Your grandmother won't rest until she sees your sister is safe." Maria sighed. Both women were clad in just their pajamas, and Rosa in her slippers and a shawl.

Rosa launched herself into Bobby's arms with a sense of desperation, " nieto, where is You're sister? She is in danger, and it's important that she doesn't get upset"...

That's how everyone found themselves in the living room, gathered around the couch as Rosa told them a tale of romance, heartbreak, and vengeance.

Rosa set the scene in Chihuahua, Mexico, sometime in the late 1800s/early 1900s. In a small province whose name is lost to time.

There was a man named Juan, and he was absolutely smitten with the daughter of a small-time farmer. They shared mutual feelings, but the girl's father wasn't sure if Juan was worthy of her daughter.

Despite being discouraged, Juan continued to court his beloved while trying to prove his worth to her family. However, one day another woman caught his eye; her name was Lupita.

Lupita was known throughout the province for her involvement in witchcraft and other unsavory dealings. Normally Juan would have listened to the rumors, but it was as if he were being compelled.

Juan and Lupita began a sultry affair in secret. Juan was afraid of what people would say, as well as wanting to keep the secret from his true love.

Lupita felt different, she loved Juan and was tired of hiding their relationship. Eventually she fell pregnant, which only strengthened her resolve to have Juan for herself.

Juan was successful in courting his beloved, and Lupita was pushed away in favor of his now wife.

Lupita was heartbroken and tried to convince Juan that he belonged to Lupita and their future children. But Juan spurned her, claiming to have never loved Lupita and declaring his love for his wife Instruction

Later that night the town was brutally attacked, settlements were burned down while their occupants laid bloody and mutilated.

Juan stayed up late with his beloved, protecting her and their home from the destruction. Lupita's fury would soon find them, as the door was ripped off its hinges and the Nahuala made its appearance.

Still round with children, the she-beast knocked Juan unconscious and proceeded to rip his beloved to bloody rivets.

Juan awoke to the brutal sight. He swore vengeance and hunted Lupita until he found her rundown hut several miles away from the ruined town.

Lupita laughed at Juan, condemning him for his actions. She pointed to her rounded belly and declared, "You betrayed me and thought you could forget me. You persecute me and see me as a monster, but will you hunt and kill your own children?"

Thus the curse was born. Lupita left Juan in that moment, but would later return, leaving him with their children, and the reminder that every few generations a new Nahuala would be born to punish Juan and his family for betraying Lupita...

While it was hard to deal with the curse, Rosa's family worked around the curse. Identifying stress factors and other triggers that could cause someone to shift.

For the last three generations the curse hadn't appeared, making Rosa hope that it would skip the new generation.
