Chapter 1: I can talk to animals, so what?

-Isla Nublar, Central America-

Longitude: 17" N, Latitude: 25" E

On the island of Isla Nublar, there resides a park, a grand resort modeled after the vision of the brilliant scientist and businessman, John Hammond.

Although the great pioneer was not able to see its fruition (due to a failed attempt called Jurassic Park due to internal sabotage) and Hammond dying on June 13, 2010, his grandchildren and business partner Simon Masarani tried to bring his dream into reality.

This new ambition was called Jurassic World, a bigger, better, and even more safeguarded version of the original.

On a boat heading to the island resort, a young man was reading an info book that was vintage from the original Jurassic park, listening to music with earbuds.

The boy was around eleven years old. He was around five foot-zero inches, and had black hair. He looked like he was Irish American, his skin was fair with a peppered covering of freckles. His hair was styled short (a necessity in a tropical region) and his eyes were silver, a rare trait.

Attire wise, he was wearing a black short sleeved t-shirt, specifically a vintage Jurassic Park shirt with the original logo and faded paint, as well as a pair of khaki cargo shorts and white sneakers with blue laces.

Lastly, he was wearing what looked to be a necklace with three charms: a silver Spanish doubloon, a silver T-Rex skull, a North Star pendant, and a single fossilized amber with a mosquito inside it.

This was Daniel Grady, nephew of Owen Grady, who had invited him to Jurassic World in the first place.

Suffice to say, the boy was excited since he got to see live dinosaurs.

"You going to Jurassic World, too?" A voice asked, causing the boy to turn and see two kids.

One was around his age and the other was a teenager. The one who was talking to him had red curly hair, freckles and was dressed similarly to himself.

The teenager, on the other hand, was probably going through his edgy phase. He had black hair, brown eyes and pale looking skin. He was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. He had a hoodie tied around his waist.

"Yeah, I'm going to be staying there with my uncle." The boy nodded.

"We're going to see our aunt. She's in charge there." The teenager nodded.

"I'm Gray Mitchell. That's my brother Zack." The curly haired boy added.

"Daniel Grady." The boy replied. "… Zack, don't move. You have a red bellied hummingbird on your shoulder." He told the teen.

"What?!" Zack yelped, only for the younger boy to laugh.

"Gotcha!" He exclaimed, Gray laughing too. "But seriously…" Daniel said as he held his hand out. "You can land now!" He called… causing a seagull to suddenly come down and land on his arm.

"Whoa!" Gray exclaimed. "How'd you do that?" He asked.

"Oh, I told him to." The boy shrugged.

"You have a pet seagull?" Zack questioned with a snort.

"You wish." The eleven year old retorted. "No, I just talk to animals." He shrugged.

"... What?" Gray uttered with a blink, not understanding what he meant.

"I can talk to animals. Ever since I was little." Daniel stated.

"So, what? They literally listen to every word you say?" Zack questioned.

"More like I tell them in words they can understand and vice versa." The boy replied. "Not sure if it works on dinosaurs, though." He added.

"So you're hoping to test that out? Alright, I can get that." The teen nodded, seeing the younger boy's point.

"That sounds dangerous. What if they don't listen?" Gray questioned.

"I'm gonna try it on some of the babies first." Daniel told him in reply. "But I once got a wolf pack to help me get back home, so I don't think a pack of raptors or a herd of herbivores will be any different." He added.

"Except the second one is… Kinda safer." Zack commented, knowing that herbivorous dinosaurs could cause a stampede.

"I'm still keeping my distance in both cases." The silver eyed boy told the brothers. Then he saw their destination coming up. "Hey, I can see the island!" He exclaimed, prompting the brothers to look and see that Isla Nublar was close.

"This is so exciting." Gray smiled.

"Right…" Zack sighed, not entirely sharing the spirit of the moment.

The two younger boys looked at each other before nodding.

"Buzzkill." They said in unison, looking right at the older kid.

(Later)

After the ship docked, everyone disembarked to either check into the local hotel or see what dinosaurs there were to be seen.

"Okay… Gate 18, Gate 18… There's 18…" The boy muttered, adjusting his satchel, which was a tan Camel Suede portfolio computer briefcase messenger bag, pretty simple looking in design. Nothing fancy, on it he had a Jurassic Park Metal keychain.

"Where the hell is Uncle Owen?" He muttered as he dug into his pocket where a chain was hanging, pulling out a silver pocket watch with a Celtic Shamrock engraving—which he got in Ireland. "He's five minutes late." He muttered, closing his watch.

Gray and Zack were met with one of their aunt's employees, who took them elsewhere.

"Hey, you Daniel Grady?" A voice called to Daniel, causing the boy to turn and see an African man standing behind him. "My name is Barry, I work with your uncle." The man told him.

"Is he caught up in something that kept him from coming to get me?" The boy asked.

"Unfortunately so. Taking care of the Raptors is a demanding job." Barry nodded in reply.

"Are you going to take me to see them? I've never talked to raptors who didn't already have feathers." Dan questioned, walking with Barry to his Jeep.

"If I'm right, he'll still be busy with them by the time we get there, so you'll definitely be seeing them." The man nodded as the two got in and drove to their destination. "… Wait, did you say talk?" He questioned with a blink after that part registered.

"Uncle Owen never told you?" The boy questioned as the two drove off.

(Later)

"So let me get this straight, you talk to animals, and they talk to you?" Barry asked as they reached the raptor paddock.

"Yep. They can actually be pretty helpful in certain situations, as long as you don't try to take their food." Dan nodded in reply. "They can get pretty upset if you do that." He added.

"Sounds like you're quite the animal behaviorist." The man chuckled. "The girls respond to Owen, but I'm not sure they'd be willing to have a conversation. Even if you are speaking their language." He told the boy.

"You never know." The silver eyed boy shrugged as they got out of the Jeep and went to find Owen.

"Owen! Your nephew's here!" Barry called as they reached the catwalk where a man was standing on it, clicker in hand.

"Huh?" A man in his late twenties to early thirties uttered as he turned to look at them. "Oh, sorry about not picking you up, Danny. The girls were getting antsy." He told his nephew.

"It's alright." The boy shrugged, leaning on the railing. "I'll let you off the hook if you'll let me talk to them." He added.

"Not sure if they'll even listen, but if you wanna try, be my guest." Owen shrugged, letting his nephew look into the paddock.

"Thanks." The boy nodded before he peered down and saw four raptors looking back at him. The first was bluish gray and had a blue stripe, the second was bluish green with a set of black stripes that were tiger-like, the third was brown and had a gray stripe and the fourth one was gray with a green stripe. "Wow, they look amazing." He breathed in awe.

"Oh yeah. They're beautiful alright." Owen nodded.

Blue seemed to eye Dan expectantly, not expecting a new visitor, sniffing the air before she started vocalizing.

Owen and Barry couldn't understand anything she was trying to say—but Dan did.

"You smell different, but I feel like I should know you." Blue commented. "You're strange." She added.

"How am I strange?" Dan blinked, causing Blue and the rest of the raptors to reel in surprise.

"Wait, you can understand us?!" Echo squawked in disbelief.

"Yeah, I can talk to animals. That a problem?" He asked, looking at the raptor in question.

"Well it's never happened here before, so… I guess not." Charlie replied.

"Can you come down to our level? I wanna get a good look at you." Delta requested, wanting to get an up close look at Daniel.

"I dunno, you girls promise not to eat me?" Dan questioned.

"Wait, what're they saying?" Owen questioned.

"Delta wants me to come into the enclosure." His nephew whispered.

"What?!" Owen hissed. "No way!" He added quietly.

"You girls promise not to eat me?" He questioned.

"We promise!" The four raptors promised in reply.

"They say they promise not to eat me." Dan relayed. "But come down with me, just in case." He added.

"This is a really bad idea…" The man groaned, running a hand through his hair.

"How long has he been able to do this?" Barry asked as they walked down to get into the enclosure.

"Ever since he was a kid. We thought he was just yanking our chain, but then we had his brain tested with an orangutan that they had him talk to, and they both were experiencing the same brain wave lengths." Owen explained. "Kid's able to talk to animals. I just have no idea how." He added.

"Curious, indeed." Barry hummed.

Upon getting to the ground of the paddock, the raptors immediately noticed them and Delta in particular was quick to walk forward. She would've ran right at Dan, but she didn't want to freak him out and scare him off. When she was close enough, she started sniffing him and inspecting him.

Then, when she was done with that… She started grooming his hair, causing him to laugh.

"H-Hey! Stop grooming me!" He tried to tell her, but she wouldn't listen.

Seeing that Dan was okay, and was in a funny situation, the rest of the raptors decided to groom him too, which made Dan's laughs louder. The boy didn't push them away, though, since he actually liked this experience.

"I think they like him." The African man chuckled in amusement.

"Haven't seen this happen since I got them in empathy training." Owen nodded in surprise. "Huh, kid's almost better at this than me." He added.

"Your brother's kid, right? The one who trained bomb dogs?" Barry asked.

"Jacob, yeah." The Navy man nodded, looking at his nephew. "That's why they named him Daniel, ya know. After Daniel and the Lion's Den." He nodded. "It was Jacob's idea. It was his favorite biblical story." He added.

"I see." Barry nodded before looking back at Daniel… Who was now on the ground while Delta was laying on him like he was a bed. "Oh dear…" He sighed, trying to hold back his laughter.

"My bed now." Delta chuckled as she pinned Daniel to the ground and laid on him.

"... Why am I your bed now?" The boy asked in bewilderment.

"Because yes." The dromaeosaurid giggled.

"I should've expected that…" Dan sighed in exasperation while the other three raptors just looked at him with the dinosaur equivalent of an amused look.

"Did I take drugs without knowing it or am I really seeing this?" A figure questioned as a man came up behind Barry and Owen.

"No, Hoskins. You are very much seeing this." Barry replied, looking at a man who was wearing the uniform for security chief of the park.

"My nephew's just getting to know the girls." Owen stated.

"This the same nephew who's dad got killed by an IED?" Hoskins questioned.

"Yep." Owen confirmed with a nod. "I kid you not when I say he has the ability to talk to animals." He added.

"... Bullshit." The security chief deadpanned.

"I hate to break it to you, but your case isn't very strong considering, you know, my nephew is Delta's bed right now." The raptor trainer told him while chuckling at that last part, unable to say it with a straight face.

"… Think we can get a demonstration?" The man questioned.

"What the hell for?" Owen questioned.

"If this kid can really talk to animals, then he could be our ticket to really getting the raptors or any other dinosaur to follow orders to the letter." Hoskins stated. "Or figure out what they've found without guesswork. Save time on Illness treatment. All because we have a guy who's literally speaking their language." He continued. "All we'd need is to get him enlisted." He added.

"Uh, no." Owen shot that idea down in a heartbeat. "Now only is he too young, he might not even be on board with what you're suggesting." He continued. "The medical treatment is fine, but that first one? Not a chance." He added further.

"Well, if the higher ups get wind of this, I'm just telling you now, they won't give him a choice." The man stated. "You're right that the kid's too young to be a soldier. I agree, totally. But you have to agree with me that he's a freak of nature—if InGEN learns about his abilities, they'll try to make him an asset, human rights laws be damned." He added.

"Because so-called freaks of nature don't deserve rights?" Barry surmised.

"I personally don't believe that, but I'm just saying that's what they're thinking." Hoskins nodded.

"Then they'll have to get through me before I let them have their way…!" Owen growled.

"That I believe." Hoskins nodded. "But that aside, are you gonna take him to see any other dinos?" He asked.

"Probably…" Owen nodded as he watched the raptors love on his nephew. "That's assuming that the girls even let him leave." He amended.

"Pig loose! Pig loose!" Someone called.

Sure enough, everyone (including Dan and the raptors) looked and saw a pig running about. This made the girls excited as they shifted their attention from Dan to the pig and started chasing after it.

"Wait, girls, no—Gah!" The boy exclaimed as he tried to stop them by grabbing Blue by the neck… Only for the Velociraptor to take him with her. "Gangwaaaaaaaay!" He yelled.

"Aw crap!" Owen cursed as he ran after them.

"Is his nephew riding a raptor?" Hoskins questioned with a raised brow.

"Not by choice, I think." Barry nodded with a blink.

Meanwhile, another worker tried to grab the pig with a restraint pole, but the farm animal ended up yanking him down from his catwalk and into the paddock when Delta grabbed it. Upon seeing him land, the other three raptors started closing in on him, causing the poor worker to panic.

"Whoa, girls, stop!" Dan called, causing the raptors to skid to a halt, the backlash causing the boy to flip over him and off of Blue, tumbling to the ground and eating the topsoil on the way down. "... That was so gross…" The boy gagged, spitting out dirt as he did.

"Hey, Daniel! You okay?!" Owen asked in concern as he ran up to him and brushed some dirt off his nephew.

"Yeah, I'm good…" The boy groaned, shaking his head. "… Great. Now we're surrounded." He groaned as he realized that the girls now had them completely surrounded.

"Um… Blue, what do we do here?" Echo asked in uncertainty, looking at the squad's second in command.

"I want to get the scaredy cat kid, but…" Blue muttered.

"Owen and Danny are in the way." Delta nodded.

"Get out of the way, then!" Charlie snapped.

"Hey! Watch it!" Owen barked.

"WHAT?!" The raptor shrieked.

"Charlie, don't!" Dan said. "Trust me, this guy isn't worth the calories." He told her, before addressing the rest of the girls. "Plus, the pig's bound to be better eating." He continued. "Human meat is so stringy and you don't know where it's been." He added.

"... Alright, you win." Charlie sighed. "I'm going after the pig. Anyone else in?" She asked the others.

The other girls looked at Owen and Daniel, hissing and clicking.

"Delta, Echo, I see you moving, back off!" Owen ordered, getting the two to back down seconds later. "Blue, you too." He added.

"Shut—." The raptor started to snap.

"Go on, Blue. It's not worth it." The silver eyed boy told her.

"... Alright." The blue colored dino sighed before backing down.

The three slowly backed out of the enclosure, allowing Barry to close the gate… and also allowing them to breathe a sigh of relief.

"That was close." Owen sighed.

"Agreed. I can see the stories you told me are no exaggeration." Barry nodded.

Hoskins couldn't help but clap at what he just saw.

"See? This is exactly what I'm talking about." The man grinned. "You got the bond, the kid's got the communication. It's like you're an entire chain of command in one duo." He added.

"I guess that's one way of putting it…" Dan muttered.

"Heh, I like you kid." Hoskins chuckled.

(Later)

After the mess with the raptors and getting Dan cleaned up, Owen took his nephew with him to his trailer.

The boy sat at a table with his personal journal and got to jotting down the day's events up until that point while his uncle worked on his motorcycle, the man popping them open a couple of glass bottled Coca Colas.

"Hm… I wonder what other dinosaurs are willing to talk to me…" The boy mused aloud to himself as he thought things over, tapping his chin with his Bakugan Battle Brawlers collector's edition pen. "If the raptors are any indication, I can talk with them. But which ones are actually willing to talk at all?" He wondered.

"Wrong person to be asking for that kind of advice, Dano." The raptor handler told him as a vehicle pulled up to the trailer.

"Honestly, who is the right person to ask for advice with something like this?" The boy asked rhetorically with a shrug.

It was then that a woman with vibrant red hair stepped out of the car, revealing it to be Claire, who apparently ran the show aside from Mr. Masarani.

"Mr. Grady?" The redhead called.

"What is it, Claire?" The man called back as he walked out of the trailer. "And what's with calling me Mr. Grady? Just call me Owen." He told her.

"I need your help with something Mr. Masarani has requested I bring you in on." The redhead replied.

"What's so important that I'm brought in on whatever this is?" Owen asked with a frown.

"You're about to find out." The woman told him before noticing Dan through the window. "Who's that?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Remember those stories I told you about my nephew? Well, that's him." Owen told her in reply.

"The one who can allegedly talk to animals?" The redhead questioned.

"Yeah, I can talk to animals. So what?" Dan questioned, not really a fan of the woman's attitude.

"Well that's charming." Claire noted.

"He's been having to deal with jerks his whole life. It's a defense mechanism." Owen stated. "And why do you think I haven't gotten back to you? You're the one that said you weren't too concerned about my opinion. You always had to be in control." He continued. "Hell, that's why we never went on a second date." He added.

Daniel ignored the two as he continued to work in his journal, starting to work on sketches of the raptors.

"That's not why we never went on a second date." Claire defended.

"Who brings an itinerary to a date?" The man questioned.

"I'm a very organized person." The woman responded. "And who goes on a date in boat shorts?" She questioned.

"It's Central America, it's hot!" The raptor handler retorted.

"He's got a point!" Dan chimed in.

"See?! My nephew gets it!" Owen told the redhead smugly.

"Alright, enough." Claire groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Just come to the paddock, okay?" She sighed as she walked away. "Oh, and you may want to take a bath. They're very sensitive… To smell." She added.

"Noted." The raptor handler nodded before he went back into the trailer. "You hear all that, kiddo?" He asked his nephew.

"Yeah. Thinking about taking me with you?" Dan asked in reply.

"Yep." The man nodded. "... Crap. Forgot to buy soap." He cursed.

"I got ya!" The boy called, tossing him a square flat box.

"... Dr. Squatch Raptor Rush." The man read, looking at the green and brown brick inside. "You got this at the gift shop, didn't you?" He questioned as his nephew held up a black brick called King of Brics (T-Rex themed).

"Why not? I hear Dr. Squatch is good stuff." The boy smiled.

"Got that right." Owen chuckled. "I'll shower first." He added, grabbing some spare clothes and heading to the bathroom.

"Alright." The boy nodded.

"Oh, I almost forgot. Barry left something for you in the trailer earlier. Go ahead and take a look!" His uncle called.

Curious, Dan went into the trailer and saw a broken leather vest like that one Owen wore in his size sitting on the table. Picking it up, he examined it and saw the Jurassic World logo on its back.

'Okay, now this is cool.' He thought with a smile before putting it on. Sure enough, it fit him like a glove.

"Now you look like you work here." Owen smiled as he came out of the shower to get dressed. "Go on ahead and get clean. We got some work to do." He told the boy.

"Right." Dan nodded as he went to get cleaned up.

(Later)

After Owen and Daniel were fully clean, the two headed to the paddock the former was requested at. Barry was busy, and Owen wasn't about to leave his nephew with someone he didn't know, so he was coming with him regardless.

"What are they keeping away from the rest of the park, exactly?" Dan wondered.

"The two assets inside the paddock have proven to be… less than sociable. So we want to keep them away from the other paddocks until that issue is resolved." Claire explained.

"Isolation won't exactly help that issue, you know." The boy pointed out.

"We couldn't exactly imprint on them due to the eldest of the two showing territorial behaviors almost right out of the egg, she nearly took a man's hand off." The redhead replied.

"So what are we dealing with, exactly?" Owen asked.

"The Indominus Rex. Though Mr. Masarani has insisted that we call them Opal and Ivory, to tell them apart." Claire stated as they entered the paddock.

"I don't remember hearing anything about an Indominus Rex in any of the dinosaur books I've read." Dan commented with a confused frown.

"That's because it's a genetic hybrid." The woman told him. "The two of them are the first of their kind." She added.

"You manufactured new species?!" Owen gasped in shock.

"Well no wonder they're so on edge; They're genetic hybrids, raised in captivity with barely any positive relationships. Only food, injections and tests." Dan said. "They're probably on the verge of going nuts!" He added, arms flailing.

"It's not that bad." Claire tried to downplay.

"No, no. He's got a point, a good one." Owen interjected. "When a human is subject to enough trauma, their mind will fracture and break down after a certain period of time. Why shouldn't it be the case here?" He elaborated. "Keeping them isolated for life was a huge mistake." He continued.

"What do you suggest we do, then? They're a year old now, I doubt we can teach them like you did the raptors. They don't know you from birth." Claire pointed out.

"Let my nephew go in there under supervision and talk to them. He already talked to the raptors, and the end result was them grooming him." The raptor handler suggested. "I'm not kidding; I have footage right here." He added, fishing out his phone and showing the footage to Claire.

"... Okay, that's actually adorable." She admitted with a smile as she watched Dan get groomed.

"Uncle Owen!" Daniel whined in embarrassment.

"But that's still pretty risky." Claire pointed out.

"Do you have any better ideas?" The preteen questioned.

"... If this gets dangerous, I'm pulling you out immediately." The redhead conceded with a sigh.

"Oh don't worry. If things go south, I'll be running like hell for home." The boy told her as he hopped down from his seat and made his way into the paddock, a radio on his belt.

After getting into the paddock with his uncle's help, he looked around for the I-Rexes but couldn't see them anywhere. The whole paddock was deathly quiet.

"Opal? Ivory? Where are you two?" He called, hoping his voice would jolt them into appearing.

"… Where are they?" The raptor specialist questioned as they checked the heat cameras—getting no signatures.

"I… I don't know." The director admitted, just as confused.

Back with Daniel, he was about to call out again when he spotted two shimmers in the air.

"Daniel, you need to get out of there, we think they may have escaped!" Owen called through radio.

"Uh, no, they're here." The boy told him.

"How're you so sure?" Claire questioned.

"Cuz I'm looking right at 'em!" The preteen replied, right as two camouflaged shapes came out of the brush. "They can camouflage!" He exclaimed.

The two dinos that came out were very much albino in appearance, given their white scales and orange eyes. The boy noted their long forelimbs and he could make out raptor quills on their heads. Both looked like they rivaled the T-Rex in size.

One was pure white—opalescent, even—so much so that she almost seemed blue, her body was much softer than her siblings and she seemed much leaner.

The other was white, but much bulkier and menacing, her color reminded Dan of either polished marble or polished… Ivory.

"Seriously? They sent a stupid kid in here?" The bulky one–Ivory— grunted, sounding belligerent.

"I'm not stupid if I can understand you!" Dan retorted, causing both dinos to recoil in surprise much like Owen's raptors did. Clearly they hadn't expected to be able to understand him.

"What the-?" She gasped, taken aback.

"You can understand us?" The daintier one questioned.

"Yep. You're not the first dinos I've talked to today." Dan nodded in reply.

"You are the best thing the two of us have seen in our lives!" Opal gushed, getting close to him and kneeling in front of him so she could get a good look at the boy.

"Opal, don't! It might be a ploy to hurt you!" Ivory warned her sibling.

"How would I hurt either of you? You're both literally bigger than me." Daniel asked in honest confusion as he rubbed Opal's snout.

"... Nevermind." Ivory conceded, genuinely unable to figure out how someone like Daniel could hurt them.

"Now, mind telling me what you guys have been doing?" He questioned.

"Other than going stir crazy? Not a lot." Ivory replied. "When we were smaller, the other humans kept running tests on us. Now they're keeping us locked up in this small place. We need more space!" She continued, sounding irate.

"We hate all the poking and prodding and shouting!" Opal wailed, flopping on the ground and covering her eyes with her claws.

Now Daniel could see the problem: They weren't being unsociable, they were just irate and teetering on the verge of going insane. It was honestly a good thing he showed up now, since he could tell Claire what was going on.

"If you like, I can tell the human in charge about what's happening with you two." He offered.

"Please!" The two sisters wailed, falling on top of each other, completely dejected.

"Uh… Okay, I'm on it." He sweatdropped before grabbing his radio. "Uncle Owen, I know the cause of their behavior." He told his uncle.

"I'm listening, and so is Claire." The man prompted.

"They aren't unsociable. They're just irate because of their living conditions; The paddock is too small for creatures like them, and they're fed up with the poking, prodding and shouting." He reported. "It's causing them to slowly go insane. This needs to be fixed before a disaster happens." He added further.

"We've spent a lot of time, resources and money into building this paddock. What do you suggest we do?" Claire questioned.

"Don't you have bigger carnivore enclosures for when a carnivore outgrows one or when you get more than two of a particular species?" The boy asked.

"We do, but this one was meant for them." The redhead replied.

"Well you may have to change things up a bit. Besides, I doubt they'll raise a fuss if they get a bigger space." Dan told her.

(Elsewhere)

"He's got a point." Owen noted. "I mean, if you use an open enclosure that you cleared out to make way for a different species, you're basically only sacrificing time and labor to move them, and you can keep this paddock for more of these girls." He added.

"Hm… That is true…" Claire hummed, biting her lower lip as she mulled over the options. "... Alright. Let's get ready to move them to one of the bigger areas." She nodded after a few moments of thought.

(Elsewhere)

"Good news, girls." Dan smiled as he sat down on a log. "Looks like you'll be getting a bigger enclosure in a few days." He told them.

Opal immediately dashed in front of him and…

"THANK YOU!" She wailed in joy before she started showering him in I-Rex kisses.

"WHA–! H-H-HEY! KN-KNOCK IT OFF, OPAL!" Daniel tried to whine, but failed and ended up laughing loudly instead as he felt the dino's tongue licking him repeatedly.

Ivory, meanwhile, was laughing at Dan's hilarious plight.

Meanwhile, Claire was filming Dan's impromptu I-Rex kiss shower with a huge smile on her face. She was against sending the boy into the paddock, but if what she was seeing was any indication, this was a good sign that the Indominus twins would be ready for the public after a certain period of time.

Plus, if he got this kind of reaction from carnivores, then there was a high chance the same would occur with the other dinosaurs throughout the park. It was actually adorable.

Who knows? Maybe she could get Owen to let her make Daniel a junior intern.

"… Hey Owen." Claire said as she turned to the specialist.

"Yeah?" The man asked.

"I have a kids program here at the park called Camp Cretaceous." The woman began. "Given your nephew's current activities, do you think he'd be interested in trying it out?" She asked.

"Yeah, actually. I think he'd leap at the chance in a heartbeat." Owen nodded in reply. "I'll talk to him about it." He added.

(Later)

"Well, today was certainly a day, huh?" Owen chuckled as they got back to their trailer.

"If you can call me getting a tongue bath from five carnivores that." Daniel chuckled despite being covered in Opal's drool.

Large dinosaur tongue baths outclassed ones from modern day animals in his opinion… Even if he needed a shower afterwards.

Owen chuckled a bit at that before both of them noticed that another Jeep was at the trailer.

"Who's that?" The boy questioned.

"Wait a…" The man said as a figure stepped out of the vehicle, a figure who was dressed in a tailored suit. "Mr. Masarani?" He blinked in surprise.

The man in the suit looked at the two, taking his sunglasses off.

"Mr. Grady! Just the man I wanted to see!" Masarani smiled.

"I wasn't expecting you. What brings you all the way out to my trailer?" Owen asked, shaking the man's hand.

"Because I've received word of a gifted young boy who's already gotten some very positive reactions from Jurassic World's carnivores." The investor replied. "Responses that were fascinating and adorable in equal measure." He added knowingly, looking at Daniel.

"Okay, you are not sending good signals right now…" The raptor handler said warily.

"I'm not going to take him and put him in a lab, if that's what you're worried about." The man assured. "If anything, I actually harbor some admiration for people like him." He added.

"What do you mean, exactly?" Dan asked, confused.

"Animal whisperers like you are rare in the world as a whole." Masarani told him in reply. "So rare, in fact, that the only other one I knew was my own grandfather." He added, surprising the two.

"Really?" Owen questioned with interest in his tone.

"In the Second World War he led a battalion in the battle of Bengal, with each man being carried by a war elephant he trained himself using his gift." The Indian man nodded. "He and his elephants saved many lives in the disaster that followed." He continued. "They called him 'Hand of Ganesha' after the Hindu Elephant god of compassion and wisdom." He added.

"Whoa. He must've been one of the unspoken legends of the time." Dan said in awe.

"It is usually overshadowed by the burning that followed, you're right." The man nodded. "But my point is that you have a wonderful gift, Daniel. And I think that with the right guidance, you could do immeasurable good for both man and dinosaur on this island." He added, kneeling down to the kid.

"Then I'll make sure nothing bad happens, Mr. Masarani." The pre-teen nodded as firmly as he could.

"Good man." The executive nodded. "You have a good nephew, Owen. With a kind heart, a sharp mind, a fearless soul, compassion and selflessness in equal measure: plentiful." He said, standing to face Owen. "My advice? Encourage it. Foster it. There's no way a boy like that can go wrong." He added.

"I agree completely. You don't need to say anything to get me to turn my boy into someone great." Owen nodded in complete agreement.

"That said." Masarani nodded. "Tell me, Daniel. How would you like to try out our park's new camp program?" He asked.

"Say less!" The boy exclaimed with a smile, much to the man's amusement. "… Think I can get a one on one with Dr. Wu? There's a genetic hybrid concept I read about that I think I could help refine into a new viable asset… at least a little. Genetics isn't my forte. Just biology and animal behavior." He added.

"If you think you can help a little in that field, I'll see what I can do." The Indian man nodded. "I'm sure Dr. Wu would be more than happy to hear you out." He smiled.

"Come on, sport." Owen chuckled. "Let's get you to camp." He smiled.

"Woohoo!" Daniel cheered in delight.

Looks like things were looking up in the milhouse.

Dragon Emperor0: Hey guys. Well, at long last, we've finally decided to work on a story that we've had in the "draft and plan" phase for going on four years by this point. Say hello to Dr. Doolittle, Jurassic World edition.

ThermalsniperN7: Yeah, this story has pretty much been left in the attic and forgotten about when we moved to a new home, so to say. Then we remembered it and went back to dust it off and bring it back to life.

Dragon Emperor0: As you guys can probably tell, we're doing things differently than in the movies. This is because we intend to take inspiration from both Jurassic World Evolution and the Camp Cretaceous show to make what I think the movie would go like if the Indominous still had its siblings and what would happen if they were treated with some common sense and decency. But don't worry, there's going to be the big "oh no, we've unleashed the devil" moment we love in these films. It's just not going to be with the I-Rex. It'll be with something… Different.

ThermalsniperN7: We think some of you may know it from Goji Center, but that's the only hint we're giving. You'll just have to read to find out the rest. Anyway, see you next time.
