The next morning, everyone but Hank and Olivia got up, got ready and then they went out for breakfast. Erin left a note for Hank and Olivia saying they were going out for breakfast and then they were taking the kids to the Zoo. She also said Captain had been fed and let out. She slipped it under their bedroom door and then they all left. By the time Hank and Olivia got up, Hank saw the note and read it.

"They took the kids to the Zoo."

"Then I guess I get you all to myself."

Hank kissed Olivia and went into the bathroom. Once he was done, Olivia went in. She got back into bed with Hank and they started kissing before they made love. Afterwards Hank had his arms around her and she had her head on his chest.

"I could get used to this."

"Me too. How about breakfast?"

"Sounds like a plan. How about in bed?"

"I love the way you think."

Hank kissed Olivia, put his robe on and went downstairs to fix breakfast. On his way down, the doorbell rang, so he answered it. It was Ed and Maggie.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"Come on in."

"Thanks. We have the closing at the end of the week but we decided to come in a little early."

"By yourselves?"

"Actually, yes. Where's Olivia?"

"Upstairs. Erin, Jay, Olive and Justin took all the kids to the Zoo. OLIVIA."

"YEAH."

"COME DOWN HERE PLEASE."

"I'LL BE RIGHT DOWN."

Olivia put her robe on and went downstairs.

"Hello."

"Hey."

"You closing on the house already?"

"At the end of the week. We decided to come out a little early."

"No twins?"

"Nope. Lucy is still watching them even though Rollins is back to work, so she has her hands full. Jenna is bringin' the boys out later in the week but Dickie is goin' to Philadelphia with Bernie to look at places for her."

"I did know Lizzie was going to be gone."

"Maureen is comin' in too."

"It's good that they're all in on the decision."

"It is. Have you two had breakfast yet?"

"Nope."

"You wanna go out with us?"

"Sure. When did you get in?"

"Last night. We're staying with Pauline and Steve. They had already told us they had plans this morning, since he was actually off."

"We should go get ready."

Hank and Olivia went upstairs, while Ed and Maggie went to sit down.

"So much for time alone."

"We could have said no."

"You're right. We could have."

Hank kissed Olivia and then they went to take a shower. Once they were done in the shower and ready to go, they went downstairs.

"We're ready."

"Ok, good."

They left and headed to the restaurant. When they arrived, they got a table and sat down. After the decided what they wanted, they had their order taken. The waitress came back with their coffee.

"How long until you leave for your trip?"

"Just a few weeks. We're really looking forward to it."

"The Bahamas sounds like a great trip. It probably won't be this year but we'd like to start to do a family trip with Jenna, Dickie and the boys."

"We're still thinking about Disneyland for Noah and Lexie's birthdays."

"Just the 4 of you this time?"

"Probably. We love the rest of the family but we're with them all the time. They did take the kids for us today without us even asking them to. We've both been so busy lately."

"Retiring was the best thing I could have ever done. I don't miss it."

"That's not an option for either of us right now."

"I thought once Hank got promoted to Lieutenant, you were gonna consider it."

"I was but I'm not quite ready yet. How was your cruise?"

"It was great."

"We were in New York that weekend."

"That's what we heard and you had dinner with Bernie while you were there."

"Yep. I'm glad she doesn't blame us for what happened."

"I'm sure it has to be hard for her because losing a child at any age isn't easy for a parent but he did a lot of that himself. Dickie is a good kid."

"He's always been that way but like he said, nothing he did was ever good enough for Elliot."

"Justin and I haven't always had the best relationship but I would never treat him the way Stabler treated his son. Although Justin has said he would have deserved it if I had. Our relationship has gotten better in the last couple years thanks to our wives."

"Not all parents and their kids have good relationships. My sister and Lisa for instance. Their relationship has been better and I think that has a lot to do with Trevor."

"I think so too. He said she helped him have a better relationship with his brother and he helped her have a better relationship with her mother."

"Exactly."

"Has Lexie had any more temper tantrums?"

"She got mad a Daddy a week ago. Erin, Olive and I were out with the other girls, so Hank, Jay and Justin were in charge of the kids. Lexie wouldn't eat for anything even though she had two of her favorites: macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. She ended up throwing them at Daddy and said she wanted ice cream. He told her no and she had a fit because both boys had it. She grabbed their bowls and threw them at Daddy. Captain of course had to help clean up the floor. Thankfully Jay and Justin took videos of it, so we could see it."

Olivia pulled up the video and showed it to Ed and Maggie.

"Oh good grief!"

Maggie showed Olivia and Hank the most recent picture of Lucie."

"She is such a cutie."

"She is. Did Lexie have another tooth coming in?"

"No. She decided she didn't want to take a nap that day, so she was overtired. He calmed her down and got her to sleep."

"She's a feisty one."

"She is. Her mother is feisty too."

"I can be. She definitely has your personality though. You definitely met your match with her."

"I can't deny that."

"It amazes me how much the kids are like their dads. The more I see my grandson, the more I see how much like his dad he is. Lucie is a lot like Rafael and Becca and Charli are like Trevor."

"Hank is 3 for 3. I just hope Noah is not like his biological father."

"That would suck for you."

"It would and I know it's all in how he's raised."

"I'm glad Josh and Jordan take after me. From what Jenna has told me about their sperm donor, they're better off not knowin' him."

"That's for sure. Just like with Trevor being the only father Em has known and Rafael being the only father Kevin has known, Dickie is the only dad the boys have known."

"Did you ever regret not having a man around while your son was growing up other than your dad and brothers-in-law?"

"Not really. Ed was the first man outside the family that I learned to trust. It took me a long time to get over what had happened to me."

"Some people are like that. Your support system is very important."

"After I ran into my attacker after Kevin had been killed, I finally felt like a weight had been lifted off my chest. That was the first time since court that I had seen him or confronted him. I knew both my dad and son were with me at that moment."

"Sometimes that's all part of the healing process. I had often wondered how I would have reacted to seeing Elliot again and that ended up being the closure I needed. I always respected that he had a family but it's unfortunate that he couldn't do the same for me. To hear that he had researched how to send phony divorce papers really upset me."

"He must have thought I would have been dumb enough to fall for it though. I know a forgery when I see one anyway. What kind of cop would I be if I didn't recognize it? Obviously his main goal was tryin' to ruin our marriage."

"Instead it has brought us closer."

"From what Dickie said, he had completed forms saved on his computer but everything was done usin' Benson. You sign everything with 'Henry', right?"

"Yep."

"He used 'Hank' in that case."

"I would have denied knowing anything about it."

"I know you would have."

"There is only one thing that could keep us apart and I don't even want to think about that."

"I know. I don't want to think about that either. That son of a bitch is lucky he's dead. I'm glad that my former CI was the one that did it."

"Everyone I've told the story to about you suggesting that Lieutenant Bradley contact Lieutenant Davis about getting Elliot's IAB file said you'd know what was in the file in the first place."

"Exactly."

"Lieutenant Bradley said Elliot's file was bigger than Hank's."

"I'm very thorough, so what do you expect? I've always been that way."

Their food arrived and then Kevin and Kyle came in.

"Hey, Boss."

"Hey. Did you guys get Lizzie to the airport?"

"Yep."

"No Alex?"

"She's babysitting Molly and Nicky."

"How'd you manage that?"

"She needs the practice. Mom and Dad went away for a few days."

"I'm off for a change."

"And so far, we haven't gotten any calls. Where are Noah and Lexie?"

"At the Zoo with their brother and sister, so we are enjoying the peace and quiet for a few hours."

"Sounds like fun. The bowling thing was fun last night. We'll have to do that again. That really could have gone either way."

"It could have."

"I agree."

"We'll let you eat."

"Talk to you later."

Kyle and Kevin went to their table, while everyone else finished eating. When they were done, Ed paid the bill and they left."

"Are you two in a hurry to get home?"

"No."

"You wanna go to Navy Pier?"

"Sure. We should do the Seadog."

"That sounds great."

Ed drove to Navy Pier and found a place to park. They went to get the tickets for the Seadog but had a bit of a wait, so they walked around for a while.

"How do you feel about leaving New York?"

"A little overwhelmed, actually. It's all I've known."

"I said the same thing but I love it here."

"If I didn't already have family here, it would have made it a little awkward. It seems like the right move for us, since we seem to be here more than we're not. Michelle assured us that Kevin can come stay with us. It's not like we won't be going back there. For right now, Ellen and Paul are still there and of course Michelle, Rafael, Kevin, Lucie and Lucia are there too. Ellen and Paul will probably be moving out here sooner than any of us realizes. They just need to find a place."

"Michelle said her parents were interested in your place."

"They are. They made an offer and we accepted it."

"Is Trevor your lawyer?"

"For this closing, yes. He referred us to someone out there for that one, which we don't need to be at. Does your daughter-in-law still want to move out?"

"Right now, no. Erin and Jay are talking about looking for their own place but they are hoping to find something nearby. I understand why they want to be close to us because if both squads get calls in the middle of the night, we can just go since Olive is there versus having to wait for Alyssa to get there. They don't want to be too far away, so that becomes an issue."

"That makes sense. If you need help, let us know."

"Thanks. We appreciate that. As much as we were both trying to cut back on having to go to scenes, we're still doing it. I wouldn't change my life now for anything. I do miss my former squad and all the others I've worked with but I do love my squad here. I'm glad I see everyone in New York as often as I can. I love Chicago."

"It really is a beautiful city."

"Have you been up to the Skydeck?"

"I can honestly say I have not. Maggie probably has though."

"Actually, with as many times as I've been here, I haven't either."

"Maybe we can head there after we leave here."

"That sounds like a plan."

They still had time, so everyone stopped in the washroom before they headed to the boat. They headed over to the boat and waited to get on. They were doing the Lake and River cruise, so once it left the dock, it did the Lake first before it went into the locks to do the River. Once the cruise was over and the boat docked, they got off and on the Ferris wheel. After that, they headed over to Willis (Sears) Tower and went up to the Skydeck.

"Oh, wow! The view is gorgeous from up here."

"It's even more amazing at night. For me, the only view in New York comparable to this is probably the Empire State Building. In all the years I lived in New York, I had never been up to the observation deck of the WTC."

"Have you been to the new one?"

"No. I've been to the memorial but that's it."

"It's almost like you're in your own little world up here."

"Definitely."

They walked around a little more and then went back down to the lobby. Ed and Maggie took Hank and Olivia home. Lisa and Trevor were headed over there when they arrived, so Ed and Maggie stayed for a while.

"Hey."

"Hello."

"Mom said you two were in town."

"Yep. We went out for breakfast with Hank and Olivia and then we headed over to Navy Pier to ride the Seadog and the Ferris wheel before we went up to the Skydeck. Where are the kids?"

"With Trevor's parents."

"We probably should have checked with the two of you to see if you wanted to join us."

"That's ok. We enjoyed the morning to ourselves."

"Erin, Jay, Olive and Justin took all the kids to Brookfield Zoo, so we had the place to ourselves too. We ran into Kevin and Kyle at breakfast. They had just gotten back from taking Liz to the airport."

"Thankfully we haven't gotten any calls."

"That's what Kyle said."

They went into the house and Hank let Captain out.

"Kevin wants to know if you're going to any baseball games this year."

"We have tickets for the Cubs/Mets series at the end of August."

"We are too. Which game?"

"The 28th."

"Us too. We're taking Emily and the boys but not the twins. I got 6 of them, so we have 1 extra. Greg, Sarah and the kids are gone that week and my parents are headed to see my brother around that time."

"I had gotten tickets to go as a family but Olive and Justin wanted to go back to DC but with the kids, including Noah, this time and Erin, Jay and Nadia are goin' too. We have 2 kids' tickets and 4 adult tickets. We weren't plannin' to take Alexandra."

"I'll take them."

"All of them?"

"Yep. I'm sure Rafael would use one."

"I'll watch the girls."

"Thank you."

"No problem."

Ed texted Rafael and Kevin to see if they would be interested in going to the game in August and he texted Jenna and Dickie as well. Rafael replied and said they'd be there and they would make a family trip out of it. Dickie and Jenna said they were looking forward to it as well.

"I found a home for all of them. Rafael said they'll all come out but he and Kevin are planning to go to the game."

"Good."

"Keep them for now."

"Ok."

"Does everyone want to stay for dinner?"

"Sounds like a plan to us."

Hank went to go see what they had for dinner. He decided to go to the store to get something he could do on the grill. He kissed Olivia and headed out. While he was gone, Erin, Jay, Olive, Justin and the kids came back.

"Hello."

"Hey."

"Where's Dad?"

"He went to the store to get something to cookout on the grill for dinner."

"Ok. What did you two do while we were gone as if we didn't know?"

"We went out for breakfast with Ed and Maggie. We then went to Navy Pier to ride the Seadog and the Ferris wheel and then we went up to the Skydeck before we came back here. We invited Ed and Maggie and Trevor and Lisa for dinner. How was the Zoo?"

"Great. The kids were good and that included Lexie. She fell asleep in the stroller before we even left the Zoo and slept until we got home."

"Good."

"Any calls while we were gone?"

"I haven't gotten any."

"Me neither."

"When we ran into Kyle at the restaurant, Kyle said it has been quiet so far and Kevin said he was actually off for a change."

"He's there as much as Dad is and Dad actually took the day off. I don't even know what he and Mom were up to today."

"I don't either. You're the only other person in the family we have seen since we've been here."

"Greg took Trevor to check out Yale this weekend. That I do know, so Sarah is on her own with the other 4."

"Did Junior make a decision?"

"Northwestern. He decided he likes it here and he can live at home for right now. That is basically what Sarah is hoping Trevor decides to do. Greg thinks he needs to go away. It's Trevor's decision."

"That's true. It is. I wouldn't be surprised if Kevin decides to come here for college."

"As much as he loves Chicago, that wouldn't be surprising. Dad's been at Northwestern since college."

"Exactly. Trevor, were you forced to go to Yale?"

"Both my parents went there. I wanted to go there because I had the grades and test scores for it and it was close to home."

"Where did you rank in high school?"

"I was Valedictorian of my class and I graduated at the top of my class at Yale for undergrad and Law School."

"Of course you did."

"How many times did you have to take the New York Bar exam?"

"Just once. I took the Illinois Bar exam before I moved here."

"Casey and Alex probably had to too, right?"

"Yes. All the professions with licensing is the same way."

"Shawn and Kent needed to be able to practice medicine here when they decided to move here."

The doorbell rang, so Justin went to answer it. It was the rest of Lisa's family.

"Hey, Justin."

"Hey. Come on in."

"Thanks."

Everyone came in.

"Lisa, it's for you."

"Hey."

"Hey, Sweetie. Where are my babies?"

"With Rita and Joe. Trevor and I are getting some time alone."

"That's good. Margaret, what are you and Edward up to?"

"We had breakfast with Hank and Olivia before we all went to Navy Pier and the Skydeck."

"That sounds like fun."

"Do the rest of you want to stay for dinner?"

"Are you sure?"

"It's no big deal. I'll let Hank know."

Olivia texted Hank and told him that the rest of Lisa's family was there and she invited them for dinner. He said that was fine.

"How's the trip to Hartford?"

"Let's just say Trevor is not happy with his father. I think Yale is at the bottom of his list. He wants to apply to either Northwestern, Illinois or Purdue but he'd also consider DePaul and Loyola. He's starting to feel too pressured about going to an Ivy League school. If Ivy League was the route he wanted to go, he'd choose Harvard or Princeton just to piss off Greg. I want him to be happy with his choice. Greg just wants him to go to Yale because that's where he went. If the whole family wasn't pretty much here, he'd probably go to NYU before Yale."

"Have they not been getting along?"

"Lately, not so much."

"He's at that age though."

"Yeah, I know."

A little while later, Hank came home with more groceries than he figured. Jay and Justin went to help him bring them in. Hank started the grill and then they fixed dinner. Once it was ready, everyone ate and enjoyed each other's company. They had dessert before everyone left. Olivia gave the kids their baths while Olive and Erin bathed the girls. Once the babies were bathed, they got them ready for bed and fed them. After Olivia finished with the other 3 and they were ready for bed, they got their story before they were tucked in. Once the kids were in bed, all the adults went to bed.
