Popcorn-Interlude A
"Last Night"
A Burnice College AU

Piper enjoyed Burnice's company a lot. Outside of their mutual friend group Piper was never really close to anyone. Nor did she care to even if she was always slightly jealous of Burnice's youthful enthusiasm and outwardness. That's not to say that Piper didn't bring her own thing to the group dynamic, she was the laid back one who tended to think first before acting. Even when she was a kid her parents considered her an "old soul" by her lack of antics.
Piper and Burnice revolved around each other, Burnice was everything that Piper wasn't and vice versa, like two halves of one whole; harmony. Most of the time it was like that, the same things that make them complete each other are also the same things that lead them to disagreements, granted they'd almost always seemed to compromise; almost.
After days of pleading Burnice finally got the whole gang together to go out and have fun. Being the start of spring and at least 2 months from midterms helped that matter a lot. Burnice started with Piper, she was the easiest because they were close and Piper understood the value of a good time. She quickly ruled out wearing down Lucy next to go have some fun as she was kind of intense regarding her studies and good behavior in general. She had one weakness though. The one girl who brought them all together.
Caesar.
Tall, strong, stubborn, proud and genuinely caring, what's not to say. Caesar was the only woman that Lucy would listen to even if she outwardly questioned her a ton. Normally Burnice would never put this much thought into simply hanging out but due to extenuating circumstances she kinda had to.
Burnice was a Chem major, which meant putting in some serious study hours, almost everyone thought that it was going to be almost impossible for Burnice to get a whole entire degree but Burnice tended to be really good with stuff that she was interested in. Not that she was interested in Chemistry but she was interested in fuel and drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) and she thought that to gain a deep understanding of both she would need to start from the root up.
For the first few weeks of college she would always find herself studying in her room when she would spontaneously try going out with her friends. Piper would always be too tired to do stuff or she would be working on her truck or in the shop working on something else. Sometimes Burnice would knock on Lucy's door just to find Lucy in her adorable pajamas and always slightly irritated at being interrupted from her studies in the evening. Burnice didn't even know what Lucy majored in, she kept forgetting to ask, Lucy kept acting like it was the most important thing in the world.
Caesar would sometimes invite Burnice in for a movie or tell her to ask if Lighter was busy. Caesar was trying to be nice to Burnice but even Burnice knew that Caesar kinda really needed the extra time to not fall behind in her classes. Burnice felt mean every time she thought it, but Caesar was never the most academic and she was surprised that she even went to college. Every time she went to hang out with Lighter he just kind of seemed busy even if Burnice never really knew what he was doing. Sometimes Burnice would just go out and meet new people which was nice but she did miss those late night hangout sessions with her closest friends.
It took all of fall, the entire Winter break two weeks into the Spring for their complex schedules to align. She just kept asking until it happened and her friends seemed to really appreciate the effort which was a nice plus.
It was Saturday at 5:00 pm which was the perfect time for a girls night or at least it was according to all the tv shows she'd been watching in place of actually going out.
To prepare, Burnice showered, usual makeup and her signature pigtails (obviously). She bought nail polish but was hesitant to change up her somewhat iconic look. In the end she saved it for a later day. Normally Burnice was never worried about these outings going right but the recent scarcity made her worry that it was not going to be as fun as it could.
Of course one of the things that made Burnice, Burnice was her ability to achieve unending optimism. She dug through her sock and underwear drawer to find a large folded sock. She uncurled and put her hand in it to find her lucky panites. A bit tight fitting for her and rarely worn, those were one of her most precious possessions, not because they had a type of sentimental value but because she was known as a motor mouth. She didn't really have any secrets because nothing really embarrassed her. She bought them two years ago just so she could have something to not tell people, a private little secret all to herself. The last time she saw them, it was when she put them on to check herself out in the mirror to see if her assets… well...
…Embarrassing.
From that she went to put on her black thigh highs, which she thought went great with her sexy golden high heels. Her black skirt with red designs matched her other friend's fashion and drew attention towards her bare middle thighs, which she knew from her experience on the internet, tended to drive men (and women) crazy. She was very aware of her body and she always liked to be the center of attention (not that she was jealous or anything).
Add a studded belt and a matching tube top (no bra, daring!) to make it seem…
…something's missing. Her tube top was tight which nicely showed off her cleavage (work with what you got!) but her skirt puffed out making her silhouette bottom heavy and not in a good way, more uneven than plump. She threw on her designer, cropped, matching, studded, leather hotrod jacket to complete the look.
Almost her entire fit was designer; not having gone out with her girls made Burnice somewhat pent up and fashion was simply one of many ways of letting the steam out.
Piper was in her long pants (long for her) that were black near the top half and dark orange on the bottom half. She was wearing a black sports bra that at least seemed to cover all the necessary parts and could be mistaken for a very tight, cropped shirt. Some of her yellow hair was tied into a bun near the front of her head which made for a unique look. Burnice would describe her hair as "Lion colored" (they have the same hair color).
"Piper, you look super duper cute in those pants!"
Burnice leaned in a bit.
"Did you put on perfume just for tonight?"
"I figured I'd try it out and see what everyone thinks, it might even become a fixture of mine."
"It's pretty cool that you're taking control and trying to make yourself smell like…" Burnice took a whiff while maintaining a respectful distance.
…"vintage car interior, neat!"
"It's supposed to smell like peaches…"
"..."
