Wonder Witch No More

It was morning on the Boiling Isles. As the sun rose, it cast its light over a tall apartment building complex that looked to be made out of marble with only one eye in the center. This building was home to a trio of familiar witches…

The bedroom of one of the apartments had beige walls, dressers, pictures, and a very large mattress. On the mattress the three witch women were still asleep. Nina slept in the middle of the bed, while to her left was an older Lambi and to her right was an older Donna.

Donna started to wake up on her own. She turned on her side, noticing that Nina and Lambi were both still asleep. She decided that she didn't want to disturb them in their sleep, though she still gently touched Nina's mane while admiring her sleeping wife. She then tried to go back to sleep, laying back in her bed and staring up at the ceiling. After she found herself unable to get back to sleep, she sighed and decided that since she was awake, she might as well start her day early.

However, much to her displeasure, she found it difficult for her to get out of bed. Part of the reason was because she just didn't want to and this wasn't the only morning where she sometimes found herself lacking motivation to get out of bed. On these occasions, she had to force herself to get up, but it still took some effort as she moved her legs off the side of their shared bed. She winced as she placed her feet on the floor and tried to put pressure on them, her feet having swelled up as a symptom of her pregnancy. Her heavier stomach full of her unborn children didn't help either.

"Come on, you can do this," Donna whispered as she lifted herself off the bed and tried to walk. She wanted to do this without using her magic. She then saw her staff next to the bed and she reached out to grab it, using it to help herself stand up straight and balance herself along with her pregnant belly.

Once she was standing, Donna looked down at herself. As an adult woman in her late twenties and in the third trimester of her pregnancy, her long hair was messy and unkempt, actually resembling Eda's hair quite a bit, though a big reason for this was because she didn't care as much about keeping her hair neat as she used to. It just… didn't seem worth the effort to her most of the time. In addition, her figure was much curvier in addition to her pregnant stomach and she was wearing a white tank top with black yoga pants. However, Donna didn't focus on her body. Instead, she searched the floor for her fuzzy slippers, slipping them on her swollen feet once she located them. Then she walked over to the nearest window, opening it to get some fresh air.

Donna took a deep breath as she looked out the window and saw nearly all of Metropelvis, cooking a lot more modern than it did twelve years ago. There were even more buildings and she could see her moms and sister's home from here. She then heard the sound of chirping and she noticed a bird flying up to her window, having spotted Donna. The bird cheerfully began to chirp and sing to her, only for Donna to just… ignore it.

"I need a shower," she said with a sigh as she turned away from the window and started to head to the bathroom to clean herself up.

The bird, confused, watched Donna walk away, confused. "I thought she'd like a little song…"

And twelve years ago she would have been.

But that was a long time ago.

After a shower, Donna managed to get dressed into a blue jacket with a white dress with blue flower patterns. But Donna still hadn't worked on her hair at all, which her Palisman noticed when he came over to her.

"Morning, Donna," Whirlwind said as he flew up to her. "You, uh, haven't done your hair yet."

"Oh, yeah," Donna responded as she walked to the kitchen. "I'll try to do it later." She opened a cabinet and pulled out a few things. "Right now, I'm going to make some breakfast," she said as she set the ingredients on the counter, before she went to the fridge. "Can't forget the eggs and bacon for Nina. Oh good, poach eggs."

After she finished gathering all the ingredients she needed, she began to make some breakfast for her wives. However, while she made them, there was no passion when she was cooking. Ever since she had gotten out of bed, she had been mostly low energy. Like she was just going through the motions. This may be part of why her hair now looked less silver or white and in fact looked more… gray, which only added to the Eda the Owl Lady comparison.

Once she finished making breakfast, she set up the plates on the table. That was when she heard her name being called…

"Donna?" Nina asked as she came in along with Lambi.

Donna turned around and she suddenly brightened upon seeing her wives awake, smiling for the first time that day. "Good morning, you two. I've made you all some breakfast!" she chirped, her mood shifting in a matter of seconds.

"Wow, this does look good," Lambi replied as she walked over to the table. Her curly hair was now braided and bound with purple rings. She wore a blue t-shirt and purple shorts, while also having a pregnant belly.

"Yeah, though you didn't have to do this by yourself," Nina said as she walked over to Donna while dressed in a black tank top and red jersey short-shorts. "I could've helped out if you had woken me up."

"Come on, Nina, you needed the extra sleep," Donna pointed out. "I was already awake, so I figured that I would get an early start on the day."

The two smiled at Donna before they went to join her for breakfast.

Once they were at the table, they ate their breakfast while their Palismen enjoyed their own treats. Donna looked up from her plate at her wives and she did feel her mood lifting as she sat with them. Her world got brighter when Nina and Lambi were with her.

"So what's everyone's agenda today?" Donna asked.

"I'm planning to spend the day with my mom for our weekly get-together," Lambi replied. "We're going to have some tea with a new tea that she is very excited to show me."

"Oh?" Nina asked. "Did your mother tell you what kind of tea she had?"

"The Gaolung crafted set," Lambi revealed. "Made from cavity minerals."

"Ooh, now that's a nice tea set, Lam," Donna said. "Let me know how the tea tastes with it."

"I will," Lambi replied before turning to Nina. "How about you, Nina? What do you plan to do today?"

"Well, I am not gonna sit around here all day," Nina explained. "I am gonna go out and get some work, since I need a way to earn some extra snails. I have been thinking about getting some bounties so that we can have more snails for the kittens when they are born."

Donna shuffled slightly in her seat while looking down at her plate after hearing Nina suggesting bounty hunting. "A-are you sure that is a good idea?" she asked, managing to keep her voice steady. "Bounty hunting, I mean."

Nina shrugged. "I've done it plenty of times before," she pointed out. "The punks I go after aways go down easily anyway, they rarely offer any challenge. It will be some easy snails." She paused. "But… I could stay home if you need somebody to stay home with you."

Donna looked up from her plate at Nina, then shook her head and looked back down. "No," she told Nina. "I'm not going to be staying home today anyway."

"Oh?" Nina asked while eating her bacon. Out of the three of them, Donna spent the most time at home, so this was surprising to her. "And what will our beloved princess be doing today?"

Donna blushed at this and managed to smile lightly. "Well, I'm going to be doing some LOWTH-related activities today. I'm supposed to meet up with Felicia to help her with her documentary, and then there's the opening of the LOWTH museum tonight."

"Wait, that's tonight?" Nina asked in surprise. "I completely forgot…"

"And I have to be there," Donna said with a sigh. "No getting out of it. I am even expected to give a speech. One that was already written by someone else, of course."

"It should still be nice, right?" Nina suggested. "All of your friends will be there. And we'll be over there for you too, hon."

"Yeah, once we're finished with our things, our schedules will be free," Lambi pointed out.

Donna smiled at this and looked up at her wives. "Thanks, you two," she said as she reached across the table and placed her hands on each of theirs, all of them wearing rings. "I appreciate it."

Nina and Lambi smiled back, though Nina remembered to bring something else up. "So other than doing some LOWTH-related activities today, are you also going to talk to Dr. Midnight while you're out?"

Donna paused, hesitating briefly, but then she nodded. "I'll see if there's an opening in his schedule later…"

Later that morning, after dropping her wives off near their respective destinations, Nina headed over to a familiar private eye office. As she entered the office, she was greeted with its employees…

"Morning, Nina," said Sioux. The short gray-skinned witch woman was now almost as tall as Eve was when she was a teenager and she wore a blue shirt with orange jacket, dark blue shorts and black boots. "How are Donna and Lambi doing?"

"Doing good, Lambi's at her mom's and Donna's got LOWTH related stuff to do today," Nina replied. "How's Veronica doing?"

"She's doing great as well," Sioux said. "She's preparing to release her latest organic clothing line for the next fashion season and is trying to get them onto one of those shows that Tabrella is going to be running. I'm planning to go with her to the opening of the LOWTH museum."

"Same with me and Donna," Nina responded. "Have you and Veronica… talked at all about the LOWTH museum? What it means to her?"

Sioux shrugged. "It was a long time ago," she admitted. "But… it was an important time of her life. Without LOWTH, we would never have met."

Before Nina could respond to this, she saw someone phasing through the wall. "Hey, Ester."

"Hiya, Nina!" Ester cheerfully replied. The ghost girl, while not having changed much, was wearing a different outfit. This time she was in a short sixties dress with white go-go boots, and her hair was tied to the side with rings around her wrists. "I haven't seen you here in a while. Here to pick up some bounties, eh?"

"You know it," Nina nodded as she walked over to the secretary desk… which had a different werecat sitting behind it. "Good tidings, Mank."

"Oh, good tidings to you too, Nina," said an orange furred manx wearcat man. On his desk was a plaque with his name 'Mank Manxley' on it. He was a robust werecat with brown hair and gray sideburns and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue sweater jacket with a green button shirt, a black vest, a red tie, gray trousers, and glasses. He was organizing some papers on his desk. "The wives have been treating you well?"

"As always, Mank," Nina replied. "Are you… doing okay there?"

"Oh don't worry, I got this," Mank said confidently as he finished organizing his papers and stood up from behind his desk… only for him to not be holding the stack right, causing the papers to slip out of his arms. "Gah!" he cried out, his papers flying everywhere. He lunged to catch them, only to end up falling on the floor, his head hitting his desk, causing Nina, Ester, and Sioux to wince.

"Are you alright, Mank?" Sioux asked.

"Yeah, I am just… going to have to organize the papers… again," Mank said, rubbing his head as he was helped up by Ester.

"I'll help you out, Manxley," Ester volunteered as she used her ghost powers to begin levitating the papers off the ground.

Nina just shook her head, all too familiar with how bumbling and frankly incompetent Mank could get. She honestly wasn't sure how he got this job… and how he kept it. She then turned and paused, noticing the pictures on the wall.

They were pictures of her old Private Eye crew, back when she first started working with them. She saw some pictures of Hardy Boils with his dog, Chompers, and another picture with him and Tally at the opening of the office. She then saw a portrait photo of Boils with the old gang. Pierre was floating there holding a cup of tea, Tally stood beside Boils while adjusting her glasses, Marlin was crossing his arms and below him was Nina herself. Her old teenage self was crouching down, no longer wearing her collar, and next to her was the three-eyed dog, Chompers, both of them giving intimidating looks.

Then there was the additional member. He was a white-skinned witch man who was sporting a beard and gray dull eyes along with a serious expression. He was wearing a green armored vest with a long sleeve olive shirt, brown gloves, dark green trousers, and boots. He had joined the agency after Nina had…

"Looking at old photos?"

Nina snapped out of it and turned to face Tally Snowpaws. The werecat before her now wore a teal suit with a red tie, button up jacket, and mid-skirt. "Tally, um, good morning and tidings to you," Nina said, snapping to attention.

"At ease, Fangs," Tally replied with a smile before she turned to look over the photos as well. She sighed. "I miss him too."

Nina gave a nod. "Hardy was one brutal mo-fo. We owe a lot to him."

"Yeah," Tally said with a nod before turning to Nina. "It is great to see you here again. Although… you wouldn't be here unless you wanted something, right?"

"Girl's gotta eat and support her family, right?" Nina asked with a shrug and a smile.

Tally smiled back. "Follow me," she said as she turned around and began to lead Nina toward her office. "Manxley, get that mess cleaned up."

"Yes, Ms. Snowpaws, ma'am!" Mank saluted before he turned to Ester and Sioux. "Um, can you two help me re-organize these papers?"

Sioux and Ester looked at each other and just shrugged before they went to help out Mank with the paperwork.

Nina followed Tally and the two of them entered the office which used to belong to Hardy Boils. Now it belonged to Tally, who had given it a clean up to make it look more appeasing.

The walls were pink and beige striped all over and there were some pictures hanging on these walls, mainly landscape portraits of Bonesborough and Latissa. Nina took a seat in front of the desk that Tally went to sit behind before Tally opened up one of the drawers of her desk and began to go through the files in them.

"So what truly brings you here, Nina?" Tally asked her.

"Well, you know, with the kitten coming soon, and school being out for the fall, I figured that I'm going to need some snails in order to help our finances. Rather than asking our folks for some cash, I'd rather work for it," Nina explained.

"That, or that just you don't want to be stuck with your pregnant wives all day," Tally teased.

"…you don't need an oracle pendant to guess that," Nina pointed out with a shrug and the two shared a good natured laugh. "I was hoping you could help set me up with some bounties."

"Hmm, let me see what I can offer you," Tally said as she continued to look through her files.

Meanwhile, Lambi was standing in front of the Bonesborough Temple. She spotted one of the Temple's ushers outside, cleaning one of the windows. "Good tidings, Raw," she greeted him.

"Oh," the usher, an older Raw, said as he turned from his work and saw Lambi. He smiled at her. "Hey, you too, Lambi." The young adult witch man was dressed in black garb as he continued to clean the window. "Are you here to see your mom? She's still in there."

"I know, but thank you," Lambi said, nodding as she headed inside. Stepping into the Temple, she saw that it looked just like it did more than twelve years ago. As she looked around, she spotted the very same seats where she had sat with Nina all those years ago when the Brookes had brought her here. This was where their relationship had started.

Lambi then looked toward the podium where her mom had been conducting her sermons for decades now and said podium was in front of the only significant change to the temple since the days of Belos. Replacing the old statue of the Titan was a new statue… of King Clawthorne.

Of course, King Clawthorne himself hadn't wanted to be worshiped, but he had still approved of the statue and of the books that the temple provided to those who attended its sermons. The 'Book of King' was written by King himself and it outlined the new mission of the Bonesborough Temple, for while it may look the same, its practices were now very different.

The Temple was now less about worshiping the son of the Titan as a god and more about following his example, seeing him as a role model rather than a deity. Such teachings included being kind and generous towards others or treating others as you wanted to be treated. In his book, King cited many examples from his own life, such as his adoptive mother raising him, when giving out his advice. Even then, King Clawthorne was still initially reluctant to write a book, ultimately deciding to do so because he didn't want anyone to speak for him like what Belos had done for his father, justifying his rule by claiming it to be the 'will of the Titan'. The Book of King was specifically written to prevent someone like Belos from ever taking power again and King's teachings were spread throughout the Temples of the Isles, where fortunately it seemed like most witches had taken these teachings to heart.

There were a few outliers, of course. Conspiracy theorists who claimed that King Clawthorne was a fraud pretending to be the son of the Titan. A few of these fringe conspiracy theorists even claimed that there was no King Clawthorne, that he was a fictional entity made up by the government of the Boiling Isles to discredit the previous regime. Fortunately, these kinds of beliefs were only accepted by a small minority of the Isles.

As Lambi looked up at King's statue, she recalled memories of the real King actually standing here in this Temple, conducting sermons with her mother. She then tried to remember when was the last time that King had come here or even been on the Boiling Isles and she couldn't quite recall, since King had been spending more time away from the Isles as of late. She would have to ask Luz about it the next time that she saw her.

"Oh, dear Mary," said a voice behind Lambi, causing her to turn around and smile.

Standing there was her mother… with two other kids.

"Hey mom," Lambi responded. "Hey Ramsey, Katrina."

"Hey, sis!" shouted an eleven year old Carthusian werecat boy with light grey, almost white, wooly fur. He had an afro-style hairdo, yellow eyes, a tail that ended in a poof, and two horns that were similar to his mother's and his older sister's. He was wearing a blue suit with a gray tie. His name was Ramsey.

"Lambi!" shouted Ramsey's twin sister, an eleven year old Carthusian werecat girl with light grey fur. Unlike her twin brother, she had no fluff, her fur being more straightened. Her straightened hair covers her right eye, with the tips dyed purple in honor of her big sister. She also has two horns, but the left one was pierced. She wore a black shirt with grey stripes and skinny black jeans. Her name was Katrina.

These two were Lambi's younger half-siblings, her mom giving birth to them after remarrying.

"Give me a hug," Lambi said with a smile as her younger siblings ran over to her and gave her a hug. After a warm embrace, she looked over at her mother, Awassi, who still looked great even more than a decade after the Day of Unity. Physically she appeared mostly the same, save for some grays on her hair. Lambi went over to give her mom a hug, still smiling. "I'm so happy to see you all."

"I as well, Lambi," Awassi replied while hugging her daughter. After they finished hugging, she stepped back and looked her daughter over, gesturing to her pregnant belly. "Oh look at you, moments from giving birth."

Lambi blushed slightly out of embarrassment. "Come on, mom," she said. "I'm not literal moments away from going into labor…"

"I wish it was sooner though," Katrina pouted lightly. "Since I can't wait to meet our nieces and nephews!"

"So when will you be due again?" Ramsey asked.

"I should be later this month. Either before or after Donna," Lambi replied. "It still could be another few weeks…"

"Ramsey, Katrina, could you two please go to the kids room and give me and your sister a moment to talk in private?" Awassi asked her younger children.

"Yes, mom/Got it, mom," the twins responded, walking away after being dismissed.

Once they had left, Lambi turned to her mom. "So… tea time?"

"In my office, come," Awassi said as she led her oldest daughter to her office where they could talk.

The two sat down in Awassi's office, sitting across from each other at a table near the window. As Lambi waited for her mother to finish making the sea, she looked around the office. There was a picture of her mother with King Clawthorne, which Awassi proudly had on display. But there were also plenty of pictures of Awassi's family. Lambi recognized some photos of her that had been taken when she was only six, along with some photos of her step-father and the twins. There was even a photo of Lambi with Nina and Donna on her wedding day.

"Here you go," Awassi said as she finished making the tea, handing her daughter a cup. The two began to drink.

"Wow, this is very good tea you've made, mom," Lambi commented.

"Thank you," Awassi said with a smile as she drank her own tea. "I thought I would try a different recipe this time. Do you think it is better than the tea I usually make?"

"I would say it is," Lambi said, sipping the tea before admiring the decorated cup that it was in. "And this is a new tea set too, right? It is very pretty."

"Well, you can thank your stepfather for that," Awassi replied. "He knows my good taste for etiquette collectables."

"He sure does," Lambi replied while taking another sip of her tea with her mom.

After they finished drinking their tea, Awassi put her cup down. "So my little Lambi, how are things with Nina and Donna? Things going well even during your trimesters?"

"Well… I'll admit that things haven't been perfect," Lambi admitted while looking down and feeling her pregnant belly.

"I never imagined that it was," Awassi admitted. "I don't mean that as a dig against Nina or Donna, I mean-"

"No, no, I get what you mean," Lambi said with a sigh. "We've… had fights."

"Yes, you've told me about the fights before," Awassi admitted. "They're still going on?"

"It's the damn mood swings," Lambi cursed. "I honestly can't remember when I have ever been so angry or mad towards Nina and Donna. I don't even remember afterwards why I was mad towards them most of the time. Me and Donna will just sometimes… lash out at each other with very little cause and poor Nina is caught in the middle, trying to keep the peace. I don't resent Donna and I know she doesn't resent me, but in the moment things just get so… heated."

"This is normal," Awassi reminded Lambi. "Pregnancies cause a lot of hormonal fluctuations, physical discomfort and changes, and emotional stress. It has been a long pregnancy cycle for all three of you."

"It has," Lambi admitted with a nod. "We are all just so much more irritable now. Sometimes I just want to cry myself to sleep, other times I heard Donna crying… or Nina crying when she doesn't think anyone is listening." She sighed. "We don't make things easy for Nina. And honestly, as much as I am looking forward to the kittens being here, I'm worried about how things are going to be after the kittens come. The thing about our relationship is that when things are great, they're great. But when things aren't…"

"Oh Lambi, it's going to be alright," Awassi reassured her while reaching out and gently touching her hand. "Once again, these kinds of doubts are normal." She sighed. "Of course, I will admit that I honestly do feel sorry for Nina. Titan knows that she needs all the strength she can get just to survive you two."

"Yeah, me and Donna have been… taxing on her," Lambi admitted while looking down in guilt. "I do feel bad for her. I think one of the reasons she enjoys teaching was because it was an excuse to get away from us… and I can't really blame her. And now that school is out for the fall, we are probably making things even harder for her."

"No pregnancy is easy," Awassi reminded Lambi.

"You made it look easy when you had the twins," Lambi pointed out.

"Only because that was my second pregnancy," Awassi told Lambi. "If only you had been there to see what I was like when I was pregnant with you."

The two shared a laugh at this.

"I imagine… and then there's my job," Lambi mentioned, frowning. "To be honest, I don't know when I will be able to return to work. I am already on leave and when the kittens are born, I will have to take maternity leave as well," she said as she looked up while leaning back. "And that puts more pressure on Nina, since she's the only one of us who is still working right now…"

Somewhere in Latissa, Nina walked towards an abandoned warehouse. Stepping inside, she looked around and gave a whiff, recognizing the familiar smell.

"Come on out, you two," Nina told them. "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way…"

Suddenly, a large vine shot towards her from the side. On instinct, Nina jumped up, dodging the vine. As she landed, she spotted some potions being thrown at her and she used her speed to dash away from them as they shattered against the ground and broke into smoke.

"You'll never take us alive, Fangs!"

Nina held up a scarf to cover her mouth, tying it around her face to protect herself from whiffing the smell from the potions. She then dashed towards a stack of boxes, where she spotted dozens of potions coming at her.

The potions exploded, which was observed by two figures on a walkway above the explosion.

"You think that got her?" a grown Weaselton, aka Weaseltaur, asked as he tried to look through the yellow cloud of smoke. He now sported a white tank top and pants that fit over his four legs. He spoke to his partner using sign language.

'We shouldn't waste time! We have to run!' Ruth replied through sign language. She wore a purple robe while her snake tail stuck out.

The two ran down the walkway, heading for the nearest exit. However, the two were suddenly blocked by a large, orange griffin with cat ears. It landed on the walkway, cutting off their escape, and roared at them, making them stop in their tracks.

"Yah! She's going to eat us!" Weaseltaur exclaimed in fear.

Snaketail just pulled out some potions to throw at the griffin. However, Nina just changed into a bird, dodging the potions as they flew past her and exploded into a cloud of smoke. The bird then changes into an orange furred slitherbeast, though one smaller than a regular slitherbeast. In this form, she shot out some gunk that hit Ruth, sticking her to the railing of the walkway. As she struggled, a shocked Weaseltaur looked between Ruth and Nina before turning around and running away.

"Sorry, Ruth!" he cried out as he ran. When he looked back, he saw that both Nina and Ruth were gone. He was panicking as he turned around to run faster… only to be grabbed by a large tendril. "GAH!" he cried out as he was pulled off the walkway and was brought over to Nina herself. "Oh come on, Nina! We're your old school mates! You wouldn't send us to jail now, would you?"

"Uh, yeah," Nina told him while summoning bonds to keep Weaseltaur tied up. "You two weren't that hard to catch…"

After tying up Weaselton and Ruth, Nina pulled up her bounty list. She looked over the list of names before crossing out the two.

"And that's two down on the bingo books," Nina commented with a smile.

Meanwhile, at the Media Coven, Donna was currently seated in the studio waiting area.

"Alright, Mrs. Masterfangs, Ms. Fox will be ready for you shortly," spoke an intern.

"Thank you," Donna nodded before she went back to waiting. She had at least groomed her hair, getting it straightened down with side bangs on each side. She wore a white jacket over a blue wrap-in dress, black loafers, gray stockings, and a blue necklace.

As she waited, she took her time looking around the room. The walls were decorated with posters of not just Felicia, but also other members of the Media Coven such as Eve, Colorfeathers, Perry Porter at a parade, and an adult Korn in a chef's outfit, starring in his own cooking show. After looking around the waiting area, Donna looked down at her own belly, feeling self-conscious about her appearance.

'Don't try to stress out about the interview, you've done this before.' Donna thought to herself. 'I mean, this is just an interview. And with Felicia. You know her. And after this there is the opening of the LOWTH museum and then you don't have to do anything else involving LOWTH for a while. I just hope I don't disappoint anybody… no, no, don't think about stuff like this. You got this, girl, you're married with two wonderful wives, and you're expecting kittens soon. Oh, maybe I should take a selfie.'

She summoned her scroll, turned it so that it was facing her, and then winked while finger-pointing at the scroll. It snapped a picture of her and then she turned her scroll to send a text to her wives. "Now to PM… 'Your sexy princess preparing for an interview. Wish me luck, my lovely babes'. And hit send-"

But before she could hit the send button, a nearby door opened and Donna turned to see who was coming out. "There's my favorite silver super star!" declared Felicia Fox, who had grown up to become a major media personality. The truffle of her fur-hair was died pastel purple and was curled up. She donned a purple bell-sleeved shirt with blue waist up trousers and purple heels. She also wore a white waist belt. "Donna, you wonderful witch!"

"Felicia, hey!" Donna replied with a smile, excited to see Felicia again. She stood up and the two shared a hug. "So glad to see you,"

"You too, Sweet Donna," Felicia replied as they let go of the embrace. "Ooh, look at you. You look great."

"Well, I managed," Donna replied. "How have you been these days?"

"Oh, where do I start, girl?" Felicia said as she began to ramble. "First off, I was doing some field work down at the Swampy Toes with my team and we managed to bust an illegal work camp for this cereal factory. You probably already know about this, since it was all over the news for an entire week. After breaking that hot story, I decided to spend some time with my dad at Palm Stings, which started out as a normal vacation, until a series of strange thefts caught my attention and I decided to investigate…"

Felicia was talking very quickly and although Donna tried to listen, the fast-talking made her start to tune out while hearing the rest of the stories. She knew Felicia meant well, but Donna knew that she could be a lot sometimes.

"-and then I had to pack up, get out of that motel, and leave a four star review before the owner cursed me! Yeah, like that justifies planting eyeballs in our drinks," Felicia said before she turned to Donna. "How about you, Donna? How have you been and- wait, I should save my questions for your interview. Although… can I ask you one thing before we begin?"

"Uh, sure," Donna said.

"When are you expecting?" Felicia asked.

"Probably sometime in the next few weeks," Donna admitted.

Felicia nodded. "Good, good," she said. "Because when the kittens come, I definitely want to be there. Don't worry, there won't be any cameras… unless you don't mind cameras, of course."

"I think I would prefer it to be a more private affair," Donna confessed. "So no cameras, but I definitely would want you to be there."

Felicia smiled. "Thanks, Donna," she said. "That really means a lot to me. I am really happy for you and your wives, by the way. Really, I am. You are going to be a great mother."

"Thanks," Donna said, smiling back at Felicia.

"I'm even a little jealous," Felicia admitted, surprising Donna.

"How so?" Donna asked.

"It's just that… I do want to have a kid someday," Felicia revealed.

"Really?" Donna asked. "I thought you didn't date."

"Hey, just because I don't date doesn't mean that I can't not want to be a mother," Felicia pointed out. "Of course, I don't want to actually go through a pregnancy. No offense."

"None taken," Donna said. "So how would you have a kid?"

"I would either adopt or create a Grimwalker," Felicia explained.

"Wait, I thought Grimwalkers were still illegal," Donna reminded Felicia.

"I have some connections," Felicia mentioned without elaborating. Her tone then changed. "Although, while I could definitely have a kid and I do want one… the only thing that is really stopping me are my worries that… I won't be a good mother."

"What would make you think that?" Donna asked.

Felicia sighed. "I mean, considering what my mother was like to me and what her father was like to her…" She hesitated briefly before continuing. "I want to break the cycle, but… what if I just end up continuing it?"

Donna placed her hand on Felicia's shoulder. "Felicia, listen to me," she said. "You are not your mother. You are not your grandfather. You are so much better than either of them. Besides, what about your dad? He's a pretty good parent. Why are you so worried that you are going to end up taking after your mother when she isn't your only parent?"

"I mean, she is the only one who raised me," Felicia pointed out. "By the time my dad knew that I was his daughter, I was already a teenager. But… I get your point." She sighed. "I guess I just don't want to have a kid until I'm sure that I am ready to be a mother."

"Well, for the record, I think you would be a great mother," Donna encouraged, which earned a soft smile from Felicia.

"I appreciate that, Donna, although we should really get our interview started," Felicia remembered. "Follow me."

Felicia led Donna to the set, which had two comfy chairs while behind a black background that had a white outline of the Boiling Isles map on it. "You can have a seat right here, and we'll be ready in a moment."

"Thank you, Felicia," Donna replied as she sat down in her seat, her scroll still in her hand as she clicked on something. She looked down. 'Oh crap, I accidentally sent it to everyone in my contacts… oh well, I'm sure they'll just think it's for my wives,' she thought while looking at her photo. 'Titan, that's not a good photo, why did I send that?! And the text is bad enough!'

And Donna still had an entire interview to do…

Meanwhile, down at the swampy Toes, Nina was tracking down her next bounties.

She scoured the swamp while on a boat, eventually pulling the boat over to the shore, getting off and traveling into the forest.

'According to the locals, they saw some suspicious folks around here,' she thought while going through the forest. She kept her eyes out for anything that caught her attention… and eventually noticed some tracks on the ground.

While following those tracks, she transformed herself into a native animal in the swamp. She resembled a large snake with a head that looked like a big toe. This creature was known as the Phalangaconda. She slithered across the ground to follow the tracks, her snake tongue catching a scent.

Eventually, she saw a cabin. An old cabin, but one that was evidently not vacant. Nina could smell something was cooking in there, so she slithered into the house through the cracks in the wall. Once she was inside, she saw the two occupants of the cabin.

"When is this stew going to be ready, Brian?" asked Zephyr, who was older, but still mutated and hadn't really changed that much. He was on the couch with some bags of snails and other valuable items. "I'm getting hungry and I need to be filled up for our next robbery."

The large serpent, Brian, just shrugged as he kept stirring the pot. That is, until he spotted the Phalangaconda. "Hiissssss!"

"What the fuck?!" Zephyr asked as he looked down to see the toe-snake, causing him to jump up from the couch. "Shit!"

"Hi guys," Ninasaid as she transformed from the toe-snake to her basic self. "Miss me?"

"Nina?! Shit, you're not getting us!" Zephyr shouted as he held up his hands, drawing spell circles to shoot out shock wave magic towards her. Brian sprayed his venom towards her, but Nina dodged their attacks and jumped onto the ceiling as the shock waves blew a hole in the cabin. She crawled towards them as she changed into a kangaroo, flipping down to land on the floor before jumping up to kick Brian to the head, sending him crashing into the stew, spilling its contents all over the floor.

Brian quickly got up and swung his tentacle arms at Nina. However, the werecat just slashed at the tentacles with her claws before transforming into a biped mongoose. She then jumped towards Brian, biting his tentacle arm. While hanging onto his arm, she saw Zephyr aiming a spell circle at her. She quickly changed into a mouse, jumping away from Brian just as Zephyr sent his shock wave magic at her, instead hitting Brian back and knocking him out.

"Brian!" Zephyr shouted before looking back at Nina. "Forget this!" he shouted as he drew spell circles to create structures that came up from the floor, blocking Nina and stopping her from getting at him. He then escaped the cabin with his shock wave magic, Nina being forced to grab Brian's body and drag him out of the wrecked cabin before it collapsed.

Zephyr was now on the run through the woods. He turned back and saw Nina chasing him, with Brian on her shoulders. "Leave me alone, you damn cat!" he shouted before sending shock waves back towards her. Nina flipped up, over the shock waves, and threw Brian's body up in the air as she transformed into another creature…

A large black spider. The large spider shot up some webbing into the trees for Brian to end up sticking into. She then looked back at Zephyr, who was freaked out by her appearance as the large spider began to crawl towards him.

"Stand back!" he shouted as he began to draw his spell circle, only for his hands to be bound by the webbing. "Shit," he cursed before he felt his feet get webbed up as well. He was now completely trapped.

"Geez, I have been running into you old League of Chimeras losers a lot, haven't I?" Nina asked after she transformed back. She looked down at Zephyr, who glared up at her.

Back in the Temple, Lambi had finished having tea and talking to her mother. She left her office and found her siblings hanging out in the seats.

"Hey guys," Lambi said as she waved to them, earning their attention.

"Hey, big sis," Katrina said, waving to her. She had just been checking her scroll, but she had looked up when she heard her sister. Her brother, meanwhile, was listening to a podcast out loud. "How was tea time with mom?"

"Oh, it was good, like always," Lambi replied. "We talked about our week, and about how Nina and Donna have been doing."

"Sounds great," Ramsey replied, only half-listening to Lambi since most of his attention was on the podcast he was listening to. As Lambi walked over to her siblings, she could hear what her brother was listening to and it caught her attention.

"Now for my theowy," said Tiny Nose, whose avatar appeared on Ramsey's scroll. "I have a belief that our world is just one big role-playing game. We're all just NPCs while those who have the most attention are just avatars of the interstellar gods that see us as their pwaythings…"

"Ramsey… what is this?!" Lambi asked, looking alarmed.

"Oh, this is the latest episode of Tinella Nosa's podcast," Ramsey explained while not looking up from his scroll. "She's been talking about some interesting stuff, like how our world is just one big simulation or how Chancellor Whispers is actually a puppet with a mirror inside of them…"

"What?!" Lambi asked in surprise. "Why would you listen to something like this?! Katrina, how long has your brother been listening to this?!"

"Yeah, he's been listening to these questionable conspiracy theory podcasts for quite some time," Katrina said while sipping her soda brew. "They've been driving dad nuts."

"Hey, they just provide a different way of looking at the world," Ramsey pointed out. "And they aren't afraid to ask the questions that nobody else is willing to ask."

"Does mom know about this?" Lambi asked.

"Well, yeah, but she doesn't mind," Ramsey pointed out. "She doesn't want us to just blindly listen to her, she wants us to form our own views and opinions. As it is written in the Book of King."

Lambi decided to sit down next to her brother. "Maybe, but… I mean, the whole world being a simulation thing? That's gotta be too far fetched for even you to believe, Ramsey. I mean, Tinella Nosa is well known for just being… odd."

"Try to be more open-minded, Lambi," Ramsey told her older sister. "And really think about it. What if we are just NPCs in a simulation? Like, it could explain why witches like the Clawblights, Donna, Nina, Willow, Emily, and Cross seem to be the focus when something happens around here. As if you guys have, like, main character vibes."

"We don't have main character vibes," Lambi argued. "Things just happen… just because."

"Really? Come on, sis. You personally know King Clawthorne. You were one of his disciples," Ramsey pointed out.

"I wasn't a disciple, I was friends with him and Luz when I was in my teens," she clarified.

"Eh, you kinda are a disciple," Katrina admitted.

"That is besides the point. The whole 'simulation' theory can't be true because we all have free will. For example, just the other day I had a chicken, fish and pickle sandwich with snorse radish," Lambi said. "Snorse radish! Nobody would eat those unless you're in a trimester. What do your conspiracy theories say about that?"

"Okay, maybe that theory is a bit much," Ramsey admitted. "But there is still value in listening to these podcasts and considering their arguments. After all, plenty of conspiracy theories from when you were a kid turned out to be true. For example, according to the Beel Zatar Society, the theory that Belos was a fraud who couldn't really talk to the Titan was proposed by Beel long before the events of the Day of Unity, when his dirty laundry was exposed to the public."

"Well, okay, the thing with Belos was true," Lambi said. "But-"

"Also, according to Beel Zatar, Belos was responsible for several false flag operations that helped him come into and stay in power. This was true for tragedies like what happened on the Knee centuries ago and the Torsa Villa fire."

Lambi visibly flinched at this, which Ramsey didn't notice but Katrina did.

"Plus he was right about Terra Snapdagon," Ramsey pointed out. "He was the one who helped to expose her true nature to the entire Boiling Isles at the cost of his own life. Then there was his theory about the Grim Goblin…"

Katrina watched her older sister, seeing her expressing discomfort with the topic. After all, these weren't just conspiracy theories to Lambi. These were events that she actually lived through, before Katrina and Ramsey were even born. And hearing them discussed like this… was upsetting her. Recognizing this, Katrina decided to stop her twin brother's ramblings.

"Enough, Ramsey!" Katrina told him off, shocking her brother and causing him to turn to her. "Can't you see how upset you're making poor Lambi? Those things are something that she had to experience herself! She, Nina, and Donna grew up under the Emperor's Coven!"

Ramsey was startled by his sister's rant, but then he turned to his eldest sister and saw how uncomfortable she looked, causing him to feel guilty for bringing the old theories up.

"Oh man… Lambi, I'm so sorry," Ramsey apologized. "I-I didn't mean to fuss you over it. I should've realized that-"

"It's okay, Ramsey. All is forgiven," Lambi quickly assured him."And you are right. About some conspiracy theories being validated. But can you just… be careful about who you listen to? Because some of the witches who spread conspiracy theories are dangerous."

"Yeah, I know," Ramsey acknowledged. "And I will be careful. I'm not listening to any of those Belos apologists who claim that he was framed by Chancellor Whispers and the Clawthornes. Those witches are just plain nuts."

"At least we can agree on that," Lambi said with a small smile.

"Y'all good?" Katrina asked them. Both of her siblings. "Good. Now then," she said as she turned to Lambi with a smile. "So Lambi, what's the update about the kittens?"

Lambi chuckled. "Didn't you already ask earlier? It is still going to be a few more weeks at least," she said while seeing the two looking excited. "You two are really excited about this, huh?"

"Yeah, we are," Ramsey replied with a smile. "I can't wait to be an uncle. It'll be so cool to meet our future nieces and nephews."

"And I'll be the best aunt ever for those little fun-nuggets. Ooh, have you thought up some names yet? I'm thinking you should name one of them, 'Katrina 2: the Sequel'," Katrina suggested.

Lambi laughed. "I'll have to talk about it with Nina and Donna about it. Though, I am not sure that 'the sequel' is a proper name."

"Then Katrina is still in," Katrina replied with a whisper while leaning toward her older sister's belly, imagining her future nieces and nephews inside…

Elsewhere, Nina had managed to track down another one of her bounties. She was at a motel, knocking on the door.

"Come on, Batters, I know you're in there," Nina said while knocking.

"Eh, there's no Batters in here," said Batters with an obviously fake voice. "This is just… um, the maid."

Nina rolled her eyes. "Then perhaps you don't mind if I come in to check and see if I can find out where he went?"

"Uh…" Batters hesitated, unsure how to respond. But before he could answer, his motel room door was opened, Nina using the access key to get in. When Batters saw her, he jumped back. "Blaaah! Don't hurt me!"

"I won't as long as you don't resist," Nina said while approaching him.

"Ehh, out of my way!" Batters shouted as he tried to make a run for it, dashing past Nina and out of the room. However, the werecat just sighed and her tail extended, wrapping around Batters and yanking him back. "Gah! Please, Nina! I was going to pay my legal fees! I swear!"

"Yeah, yeah, tell it on your courtroom date," Nina responded as she restrained Batters, lifted him over her shoulder, and headed out.

"Aw newtburgers…" Batters sighed in defeat.

Back in the studio, Donna and Felicia's interview had gone on for a while. All cameras were focused on them as Felicia went over her questions while in front of a studio ghost audience.

"Over the last year, you have spoken for and represented many successful charities that have helped to benefit the witches and the demons of the Boiling Isles, " Felicia pointed out. "Tell me, what are your favorite charities?"

"Um, what kind of question is that? I love all of my charities," Donna replied. "Choosing a favorite charity is like choosing a favorite child. Easy answer: I don't play favorites."

"Right, well it was a trick question," Felicia admitted. "Although speaking of your children, have you thought of any names for your future kittens yet? The viewers wish to know. Before this interview, we even took a poll to see what were the most popular suggestions."

"Um, for the names, well… no spoilers," Donna said, though in reality she hadn't decided on any names yet.

"Ha! Ain't she a doll, folks?" Felicia asked as the ghosts in the audience began to laugh. "Donna, for the last twelve years, you have been considered a symbol of justice and heroism for the Boiling Isles. Even years after LOWTH was disbanded and you retired the Wonder Witch identity, witches continue to look up to you and follow your example. So tell me… how do you feel about that? What do you think of your legacy?"

Donna looked at Felicia, then she looked down. After a moment, she gave a sigh and then began her response.

"I am flattered, really," she said. "Although I don't really think I am someone that should be looked up to."

"You don't have to be so humble," Felicia tried to tell Donna.

"I'm serious," Donna revealed. "To tell you the truth…" She paused before continuing. "There are days where I have wished that I never founded LOWTH." She looked up and continued to explain. "I mean, we were just kids. Dumb kids. We didn't really know what we were doing at the time. We were in over our heads… and it sometimes got witches killed."

Felicia looked over at Donna, noticing her saddened expression. Realizing that this interview was getting a little heavy, she turned to the cameras and drew a spell circle, cutting the cameras and the mics off.

"Um, we'll be taking five, folks," Felicia told her ghost audience before standing up and walking over to Donna, kneeling down in front of her. "Hey, are you okay? I-I didn't mean to upset you or anything…"

"No, no it's fine," Donna assured her. "It's not your fault, Felicia. I guess I was just… overwhelmed."

"Are you really okay, Donna?" Felicia asked, not convinced.

"I'm fine, really," Donna said, trying to dismiss it.

"Donna…" Felicia said as she gave Donna a look. "You know I can tell when something's bothering you. You're not being subtle…"

Seeing that Felicia was going to press on, Donna decided to just be honest with the fox biped. "Okay, the thing is… this is about the LOWTH museum opening up."

"The museum?" Felicia asked in confusion.

Donna nodded. "Everyone's minds are about LOWTH right now. I mean, I couldn't completely escape it before, but because of the new museum, no matter where I go, I am constantly reminded of my LOWTH days… and that includes what I have lost." Her voice cracked. "We may have done some good, but I honestly don't like being seen as Wonder Witch now, but I still have to act the part when I am promoting charities or doing interviews or giving speeches… because it is what people expect from me. I wasn't even Wonder Witch for a full year, I quit after… well, you know, but that's still how people see me. They don't realize that I was just a dumb kid in a dumb costume who didn't know what she was doing, and who dragged her friends with her… which led to some of their deaths."

Donna looked even more upset now, being reminded of who she lost. Felicia responds by giving her a hug, gently rubbing her back.

"Hey, it isn't your fault, Donna," Felicia told her. "What happened to-"

"No, it is my fault," Donna replied with a sniff. "LOWTH was my idea. If I am given credit for founding LOWTH, I also have to be given credit for our failures."

Felicia looked at Donna in concern, but then quickly made a decision. "Look, maybe we can do the interview on another day. Why don't you go home and get some rest."

"I… I could still continue," Donna insisted, but Felicia interjected.

"Right now, you're not good for an interview," Felicia told her. "We can reschedule for another day. Just take a boiling rain check."

Donna looked up at Felicia and gave a nod. "Alright, I will."

"Great," Felicia said. "I really hope you do get some rest, Donna. Or take to Dr. Midnight. I want to help you, but… I'm not a professional. Although if you ask me… you are wonderful, Donna. And I think you should be incredibly proud of what you accomplished in such a short time at a young age. You inspired so many other witches and… you helped to inspire me."

Donna managed to smile. "You're just saying that to make me feel better," she told Felicia. "You didn't need me to make a difference."

"Maybe not," Felicia admitted. "But knowing you didn't hurt."

Elsewhere, Nina was tracking down another bounty. This time, she was following someone wearing a cloak as they went into an abandoned building…

Said building appeared to be an old factory of some sort. A factory that had once been used to make mannequins. In the mannequin factory, the cloaked figure removed their hood, revealing their identity to be Horace, the horse-faced Chimera.

"You're not being subtle, are you, Horseface?"

Horace turned around, his eyes widening in shock. "N-Nina?!" he exclaimed, seeing the werecat before him. "What are you doing here?!"

"There's a bounty on your head," she told him while walking towards him. "I don't know what you're doing here and I don't really care, I'm just here to collect my bounty."

Horace glared at her. "Over my dead body!" he shouted as he swung his large serpent tail towards Nina, who dodged the attack. Nina then changed into a griffin as she flew up, then flew down towards Horace, who formed his arms into abomi-fists to try to block her. Nina tackled him anyway, but Horace managed to kick her off him, sending her into a pile of mannequins. "Ha! Looks like you're not so tough now, Fangs!"

"Am I?" Nina asked as she suddenly transformed into a dragon and blew fire at him.

Horace panicked and tried to dodge, but was too late. The fireball hit him, launching him back and sending him crashing into some crates. Nina flew over to him while changing into a gargoyle. She pinned Horace down with her talon, but then Horace swung his Abomi-fists at her, forcing her to let him go in order to dodge the fists. Horace then got up as he formed his Abomi-arms into large spikes.

"Alright, time to turn you into a fur coat!" Horace declared as he charged at Nina, only… to be hit with a larger tail. He was sent into a metal beam, hitting his back. "AAAH!"

Nina had gotten up and changed into a tyrannosaurus rex. She unleashed a mighty roar and looked down at Horace, who was about to pick himself back up. But then she transformed into a larger serpent, with the head of an elephant… a grootslag.

"Oh shit…" Horace gulped as she saw the grootslang's tail swing down on him.

SWAT!

Horace was left literally inside the floor, a crater around him. The grootslang Nina looked down at Horace's now motionless body before she transformed back to normal. Walking over to him, she checked his pulse and confirmed that he was still alive. She then held up a collar and placed it on his neck.

"That takes care of you," Nina declared as she stood up. "Don't know why you'd choose a place like this as your hideout though," she said as she looked around at all the unfinished mannequins. "It is really crazy…"

"Which meant that nobody would be here to interrupt our meeting," said a voice.

Nina's eyes widened as she picked up a familiar scent. She turned around, seeing someone step out from the shadows and walk towards her. "I should've known it was you…"

"Long time, no see… Kitten," said Tito Jackwitch. The now young adult witch man wore a white fedora hat. A matching white suit and pants, a red button shirt, a white tie, and black dancing shoes. He sported one white, sparkling glove and a cane. "And I see you're still up to your bounty hunting shtick. Got tired of teaching snot-nosed brats then?"

"What do you want with Horceface over here?" Nina asked, pointing to Horace.

"Simple, I wanted him to do a job for me," Tito said while sighing. "Alas, he got struck down too easily. There goes my hired help."

Nina narrowed her eyes at Tito. "I should tell you now that your bounty has gone up, Tito. You're worth more snails than any of those leftover Chimeras I caught."

"Oh? So you're here to turn me in for the snails?" Tito asked with a teasing look. "I'm touched…"

"This isn't about the snails anymore, Tito," Nina said as she extended her claws. "This is about stopping you. If anyone's going to turn you in… it's me."

Tito just sighed. "I've always respected you, Nina," he told her while holding up his cane. "But sadly, I don't feel like going to jail…"

He shot lightning from his cane towards Nina, who dodged it in an instant. Nina snarled as she charged towards her old friend and went in for a pounce, only for Tito to instantly deliver a kick to her face, making her crash into some crates. Nina got up and looked at Tito, who held his hat with his gloved hand.

"Guess who didn't skip leg day?" Tito asked with a smirk.

Nina turned her arms into tentacles to try to grab Tito. However, he slid back, dodging the tentacles and kicking them away from him, forcing Nina to pull back. She then jumped towards him, forming into a large armadillo that rolled toward him and tried to knock him down…

"Pop!" Tito shouted as he raised his palm, channeling his magic into a palm-strike that he used on the armadillo, sending Nina flying back yet again. "Did you forget who taught me these mad skills?" he asked while getting into a fighting position and charging towards Nina.

Nina saw Tito charging at her and going in for a sidekick. Nina jumped away from the attack, but Tito held up his cane and shot lightning to strike at her faster than she could react. He succeeded, and Nina was struck by the lightning.

"AHH!" Nina cried out, her tone angry. "Fuck!"

"Sorry if I opened some old wounds, kitten," Tito taunted before swinging his cane at her, forcing her to dodge it.

"Save your apology!" Nina shouted. She threw several punches at Tito, which Tito either dodged or used his cane to block. She sent a kick, which he blocked with his arm before he grabbed her leg and swung her away from him, showing a surprising amount of strength. Nina landed on her feet and went to try to kick him again, but he blocked her kick with the spin of his cane, creating a magical barrier.

"This cane is quite useful, better than a wand or staff even!" Tito commented as he tapped on the tip on the helm of the cane, which brought out a spark for him to draw a large spell circle. This sent out a gush of water that splashed into Nina, sending her back away from him.

After she came to a stop, Nina coughed out the water and glared at Tito, who was swinging his cane around playfully. "Oh don't give me that look, kitten. This has been all fun and games, but I can't allow myself to get caught. It would ruin my street cred."

Nina then grew large wings while charging towards Tito again. She unleashed her claws as she tried to swipe at him, only for him to step back. He could feel a tear of his suit from her claws, which made him realize that she wasn't fooling around. He saw her paws grow bigger, her claws become more razor sharp, and her fangs growing saber, along with horns and wings.

Seeing her winged-tiger form, Tito could see how he truly pissed her off. "Oh boy," he said before he jumped up high before the winged-tiger demon came at him. Tito hit a switch on his cane and it spread a mist around the factory, blinding the winged-tiger. "Gotta fly, kitten!" he declared as he flew out of the warehouse through an open window, leaving Nina in the fog.

The winged-tiger flapped her wings to disperse the mist. Once the area was clear, Nina changed back, calming herself down as she looked around for Tito. She didn't see him around anymore, nor could she pick up his scent. She only saw the knocked out Horace.

The werecat sighed and went to pick up Horace's body, deciding to turn him in rather than go after Tito.

Later that night, the opening of the LOWTH museum in Metropelvis had started. It was a large hall-like building with eight pillars in the front. In the front yard were statues of each LOWTH member. On the left side of the yard were statues of Wonder Witch, Beocrow, Ghostina, Minos, Florella, Cross in his dragon form, and Madstream. On the right side of the yard were statues of Driller, Lunar Tune, Potion Ranger, Riley Strange, Powerlympic, and Mr. Healer. There were already a lot of witches and demons gathered around the museum, including members of the Boiling Isles media.

"Welcome to the opening of the LOWTH Museum," Eve declared while covering the event in front of a camera. "After its grand opening tonight, admissions will be free to the public, so you are encouraged to come visit. As for tonight, we are going to be joined by Metropelvis's favorite heroes! Oh, here's Donna Masterskull along with her wives, Nina Fangs and Lambi Lambada!"

Donna, along with Nina and Lambi, had arrived in front of the museum via griffin. Once Nina parked the griffin, she helped her wives down.

"Easy does it." Nina said while holding their hands as she helped them carefully step down. Nina was wearing an orange wrap dress with a frontal split. It was sleeveless and had a v-neck.

"Thank you, Nina," Donna told her while wearing a blue long backless gown and a white jacket with black loafers.

"Yeah, thank you," Lambi said while wearing a white and purple bell-sleeve dress that reached to her knees, and purple comfort boots.

"Alright, let's get this over with," Donna declared before she noticed her wives looking at her worryingly. "What? Anything wrong? Did my dress rip?!"

"No, no, it's not that," Nina assured her. "It's just… we're worried about you."

"Me?" Donna asked her.

"Well, we're just… worried if you're still up for the night or not," Lambi said. "With how the interview went earlier…"

"That was nothing serious, Felicia just told me she could reschedule," Donna assured them. "And I've talked to Dr. Midnight like you wanted, so I should be fine and in the right state of mind for tonight. It is only going to be a few hours anyway.."

"Are you sure, Donna?" Nina asked her as Donna held both hers and Lambi's hands.

"This isn't just my night or LOWTH's night… it's our night," Donna declared with a smile. "Come on, let's go in."

Nina and Lambi gave each other looks before they followed Donna toward the museum, heading for the check-in.

Inside the museum, the exhibit hall was filled with displays of LOWTH's personal items such as gears, weapons, spellbooks, and their costumes. Portraits of each LOWTH member were up on the walls, including group shots of the different rosters. From the founding members, to the other members who joined before the Day of Unity, to some of the newer members they picked up after that point. As guests looked around, the trio of Donna, Lambi, and Nina navigated the different exhibits.

"This makes me feel… nostalgic," Lambi commented while looking around the museum. "Some of this really does take me back…"

"Yeah," Donna replied before pausing when she saw one costume display showing her original Wonder Witch leotard. She stared at it in silence, feeling a rush of conflicted emotions.

"You know, that costume really did show off your cute butt," Nina complimented, making Donna blush.

"Nina, not here!" Donna reprimanded.

"Alright, alright," Nina said. "Then again, I wouldn't mind seeing you in your old costume again, see how it fits…"

Donna just sighed before she stiffened a laugh. "You are just the worst sometimes…"

"I just thought you needed a laugh," Nina responded with a smile.

"Hey, you three!" spoke up Andrew as he and Minerva walked over to them. Andrew wore a brown suit with a red bow tie while Minerva wore a red long dress.

"Andrew, Minerva," Donna said with a smile as she went over to hug Minerva. "It's so good to see you two again."

"Likewise," Minerva responded with a smile before turning to greet Nina and Lambi. "Nina, Lambi, it's good to see you both again."

"Yeah, same Minerva," Lambi replied.

"How are the kids doing?" Nina asked.

"Doing well, we decided to bring some of them along, since they were interested in the museum," Andrew said while pointing to a trio of young demon biped kids who were nearby. "Yen, Kip, and Grounder are the only ones who won the lottery for opening night."

"We've decided to take the rest here over the next few days, but only in groups of three to four," Minerva admitted.

"Wow, so like, not all of them get to come at once?" Lambi asked.

"If we take them all at the same time, it'd only overcrowd the museum," Andrew pointed out.

"Trust us, you don't want all of them in the same public space," Minerva admitted.

After they finished talking to Andrew and Minerva and they went their separate ways, Nina spotted some other familiar faces. "Hey, look who's here…"

"Hey, guys," Sarah said as she, along with Jerbo, came over to them. Sarah was wearing a long-sleeve yellow dress with black accents and lines all over that reached her knees, black high-heel boots, and a black waist belt. Jerbo was wearing a green suit with a purple tie and brown boots.

"Sarah, Jerbo," Donna said as she went over to greet them. "I am glad that you both came. How's your son?"

"He's doing well," Jerbo responded. "Though he decided not to come with us. Instead, Dexterrier volunteered to watch over Jetstream for the night, with Viney agreeing to keep an eye on them."

"Jetstream?" Nina asked.

"Oh, just an Abominaut," Sarah said while looking around. "We can't say anything else about it. Not in public, at least…"

"So are the rest of LOWTH here?" Jerbo asked. "We just got here."

"Well, so did we," Lambi admitted. "So far, we only ran into Andrew and Minerva."

"What about us?" asked a familiar male voice.

Everyone turned to see Cross and Lindsay walking over to them. Donna broke into a smile. "Cross! Lindsay!" she shouted as she went over to hug them both.

"Hello, Donna," Lindsay replied while hugging her back. She was wearing a green organic dress with a grassy neck collar and blue butterfly pin on the center of her chest. It reached down to her ankles as it had one split, with teal leaves around her waist. Her hair was tied up into a bun with green leaves in it and her bangs sticking out. She also had on green heels with green straps around her ankles.

"Wow Lindsay, you look gorgeous in that dress," Lambi complimented.

"You can thank Tabrella for that," Lindsay replied. "She helped design and make mine and Cross's outfits."

"Yeah, I was thinking of just wearing my dad's old suit but you know Tabs," Cross said while wearing a forest green suit. He wore a black tie with a fang at the end and a teal button shirt. He also wore matching pants and black shoes. "But hey, green is our color."

"You two definitely look great in green," Nina mentioned.

"I'll admit, I should've asked Tabrella to make me one like how she made everyone's outfits for our Shady Gawkins Dance," Sarah admitted.

It was then they noticed a sparkling spell circle start to appear next to them. Everyone in the museum turned to see a portal open on the middle of the museum floor and someone fly through the portal.

"Hello, sorry that I'm late," Riley Strange said as they came out from the portal. They were levitating off the ground with a blue cape and they were also wearing a dark-blue fancy suit jacket with a black vest, a white button shirt, dark blue pants, and heeled boots. They also wore golden necklace with a blue gemstone that glowed. Their blue gloved hands were surrounded with archaic circles and symbols. Behind them was a view of New York City that vanished when Riley closed the portal.

"Glad you could make it, Riley," Cross commented. "I heard you're pretty busy these days."

"Well, I couldn't miss this for all the realms," Riley declared as they floated to the ground. "I just had to finish helping the American Dragon out with a gremlin situation over at Broadway." They then spotted Donna, Nina, and Lambi. "Hey, the Fang family! Did you get my gifts for your baby showers?"

"We sure did, Riley," Donna replied with a nod. "Thank you for them."

"Don't mention it," Riley said with a wink.

"How is New York, by the way?" Donna asked.

Riley just shrugged. "It's New York," they said. "What else can I say?"

Later in the night, Veronica and Sioux showed up, Veronica waving to them. "Hey guys!" she shouted while wearing a fall-seasoned outfit along with Sioux. Veronica had on a strap-on long v-neck velvet spaghetti dress which had a black sash wrapped around her abdomen, and a split to the side with velvet heels fitting her hooves, and a pink scarf around her neck to her arms. "Hey Donna, I love your outfit. Of course, you are looking sharp as well, Nina. And so are you, Lambi."

"Thanks, cousin," Lambi replied with a smile, going to hug Veronica after Donna finished hugging her.

"Hey again, Nina," Sioux said while she had on a strapless black dress that stopped to her knees and black pixie heels. She wore some jewelry around her neck.

"Hi again to you too, Sioux," Nina replied. "Glad you could make it."

"I said I would be here, didn't I?" Sioux pointed out.

"Am I the last one here?" Tyrone asked as he walked up. He was wearing a gray coat with a black and red scarf around his shoulders, a white button shirt, black pants, and black shoes. With him was his son.

"No, we are still waiting on a few witches," Cross said as he clasped his hand with Tyrone's. "What's up, Ty?"

"Pretty good," Tyrone said with a smile. "How are you and Linds?"

"We're doing pretty well for ourselves," Cross admitted before looking down at the little witch boy that Tyrone had brought with him. "I see that you brought your son here with you."

"Yeah, I thought he would like to see the museum," Tyrone said while looking down at his son. "Isn't that right, Ike?"

"Yeah," Ike said with a nod. He gave a small smile. "Hi Aunt Lindsay, and Uncle Cross."

"Hello to you too, Ike," Lindsay replied in a kind tone as she looked down at him. "Is Andrea also here?"

"Nah, she's with her kids and the sisters," Tyrone said before turning to Donna and Veronica. "Hey, Donna."

"Hey, Ty," Donna said before she hugged both Veronica and Tyrone. "It's so good to see you guys again."

"Likewise, Donna," Veronica replied while patting her back.

"So what about our missing friends?" Riley noted.

"I just got a text, they said that they're running late," Minerva said as she and Andrew joined everyone else.

"Yoo-hoo, darlings!"

Everyone turned to see Tabrella coming over to them through the crowd while waving to the members of LOWTH. With her were Emily and Katie. Tabrella was wearing an extravagant dress. She wore a white fur-trim coat with purple gemstones decorated around the sleeves. She also wore a light-blue blouse underneath with a white long skirt with a long split and white boots with the same purple gemstones. "Hello, everyone! It's so good to see you all!"

"Hey, guys," Emily waved. She was wearing a white suit jacket and pants with a black blouse and white belt with a golden buckle. She also wore white heels and gloves. She then stopped when she saw Riley. "Oh, Riley," she said in surprise. "You're… back in the Boiling Isles."

"Yeah, I didn't want to miss the opening," Riley said. "How have you been doing?"

"Good, good…" Emily said, struggling to maintain eye contact with Riley as her old guilt started to resurface.

While things got awkward between Emily and Riley, Donna and Tabrella shared a hug.

"You look fabulous, Donna," Tabrella told her old classmate.

"Thank you," Donna said with a smile as she hugged Tabrella back. "Glad to see that you and Emily are here as well."

"I might not have been an official member, but a lot of the costumes here are my work," Tabrella pointed out as she looked around at some of the costumes in display cases. "At least… the best costumes here are my work."

"Ooh, and I see you two brought Katie along with you," Lindsay pointed out as she walked over to them. "Did you want to see the museum as well?"

"Sure, but it wasn't like I had much of a choice," Katie admitted while wearing a white dress with a pink waist ribbon and white mary-jane shoes.

"Yes, Katie has proven to us that she cannot be trusted to be left alone at home," Tabrella mentioned as she shot her daughter a look.

"I already promised that it wouldn't happen again!" Katie protested.

Nina chuckled, "That's what they all say, kid," she said as she turned to Emily, offering her hand. "Nice seeing you outside of the school for once, Emily. How are the folks doing?"

"They're doing well," Emily replied, shaking her hand. "Pete is actually spending some time in the Human Realm with Luz, Amity, and their sons."

"Huh, really?" Nina asked in surprise. She then glanced around them. "Say, um, can I borrow you for a moment to discuss something?" she asked Emily while giving a serious look.

Noticing Nina's look, Emily gave her a nod. "Of course," she said as the two walked away from the crowd, leaving Tabrella and Katie with the others.

Once they were alone in a spot next to some display cases of each of LOWTH's masks, the two began to talk.

"Everything alright, Nina?" Emily asked her.

Nina sighed. "I saw Tito earlier today," she revealed.

"Oh," Emily said, her eyes widening. "Oh…"

Nina nodded. "I was out hunting bounties earlier today and I ended up seeing him when he was meeting up with one of my bounties."

"Tito…" Emily said as she looked down with a guilty expression. "Titan… it's been a while since we've heard from him."

"Yeah," Nina said while looking down as well. "I tried to catch him, but like always, he got away…"

The two were quiet for a moment, silently thinking about Tito and their history with him.

"I never thought that he wasn't even active on the Boiling Isles anymore," Emily pointed out. "Didn't he leave?"

"Yeah, I thought that too," Nina said with a nod. "But now he's back. And the question is: why? Why is he here? And why now?"

"You don't think he's going to make some extravagant show of this, do you?" Emily asked as she looked around. "Cause with all of LOWTH here…"

"I don't think he would be that stupid," Nina said. "But we should keep our eyes peeled, just in case…"

"Yeah," Emily agreed, nodding. She was silent for a moment, thinking to herself before speaking again. "I do feel sorry for what he's become…"

"I feel the same way… but there was only so much we could do for him," Nina pointed out. "He made his own choices and he double downed on them. This criminal lifestyle of his… at this point, he has nobody but himself to blame for it."

"Yeah," Emily acknowledged with a sigh of regret. "We all chose to be better, but Tito… I wish we could've done more for him, but at a certain point he was just… beyond helping."

Meanwhile, Donna was looking around the museum by herself, checking out the many displays. She found a wall of trophies they had acquired while fighting villains and other threats to the Boiling Isles. One of these trophies appeared to be a hockey-mask, another was a cracked crystal ball, another was a blue furred parka with a flute and a large paintbrush, and another was what looked like a bone staff.

She then came across a portrait that made her briefly smile. The portrait showed the many LOWTH members around a round table. She saw her younger self sitting on the table while holding up her keyblade. In counter clockwise order there was Nina, Lambi, Minerva, Andrew, Dr. Midnight, Kitsuni, Cross, Lindsay, Roxy standing behind Riley, a blue-skinned Sarah, Tres, Tina, Veronica, and Tyrone.

Donna's eyes went from each member, but her smile vanished, turning into a frown when she focused on one specific member in the portrait. She stared at that member for a very long time, but then she sighed and moved on, not wanting to dwell on it any longer than she had to.

As she continued walking, she noticed another room that she decided to go into. In that room were a trio of statues and when she saw them, her expression became pained with regret and loss…

These were the statues of the members they had lost. The members she had lost.

She stared at the three statues for a long time, her gaze slowly drifting to each one.

First, there was the statue of Beocrow.

Then there was the statue of Ghostina.

And of course there was the statue of her brother… Conner.

Donna was silent as she looked at the statue of her brother and her deceased friends, fighting back the urge to cry…when she heard her name being called.

"Donna?"

She turned around and saw her friends staring at her in concern. This included Roxy and Kyle, who had finally made it here after arriving late.

"Are you… alright?" Lambi asked her in concern.

"Um, yeah," Donna responded, running a hand through her hair while letting out a sigh. She forced a smile. "Roxy, Kyle, I am glad that you two made it here."

"Yeah, we just got here," Roxy said while wearing a one strap pink long dress that showed off her muscular figure and violet boots. Her hair was shorter.

"Yeah, I had to finish up at the Healing Coven before I came here," Kyle said while dressed in a blue suit and white tie. He sported a small mustache and was as tall as Cross.

"Great, we should probably go catch the ceremony then," Donna responded, nodding. She went to join her friends, only stopping to look one last time at the statues of her brother and her friends. Then she shook her head and left the room.

Donna and her friends ended up in the main hall where they found their seats on the stage. Donna sat between Nina and Lambi, the former having finished up with Emily. They now faced the crowd that had entered the museum and among them were the Diamantricks family. Also there in the crowd were Annie and Jaspin, the latter looking excited.

"Oh my gosh, it's time! Are you seeing them, Annie?" Jaspin asked her girlfriend.

"Yes, I know," Annie replied with a smile.

Donna looked out at the crowd while the ceremony was preparing to begin. She then looked down at her hands, one of them flesh and the other made of Abomination goo. She noticed her hands shaking and she tried to steady them while taking deep breaths.

"Hey, you doing okay, Donna?" Nina asked while looking over at her wife.

"I'm fine, really," Donna insisted.

"Are you sure?" Lambi asked her. "We did find you at the… well…"

"I know," Donna said while looking at her own hands. "It's just… I just miss them."

"We know you do," Nina said as she placed her hand over Donna's.

"I know I should have expected something like this," Donna said with a sigh. "But I'll admit, it was still hard to see their memorial display, but… I'm not going to dwell on it right now."

"Really?" Nina asked her in concern "Are you sure?"

"I've already rested up before coming here." Donna said before she looked up with a determined expression. "All I need to do is go up there, give a speech, smile, and then get through the rest of the night."

Nina and Lambi looked at each other in concern before they heard someone at the podium on stage speak up.

"Alright, people of Metropelvis and elsewhere, it's time we bring out those who have protected this city, those who have this museum dedicated to their heroism," said the museum curator as he stepped back. "The League of Witches That Helps!"

Donna stood up, along with the rest of LOWTH. as the crowd erupted into applause. Donna formed a fake smile and waved to the crowd as she walked over to the podium, watching them cheer for her and her friends.

Watching them cheer for the heroes that protected them.

Later, after the opening ceremony had concluded, Donna was home, eating dinner with Nina and Lambi. They had picked up some take out on the way to their apartment.

"Mmm, I really needed this," Donna said while eating sesame fish with some cooked meat and rice. She looked up at her wives. "So how were your days, you two?"

"Yeah, like how was tea time with your mother, Lambi?" Nina asked her.

"Oh, it went great," Lambi replied. "It was pretty uneventful though. We just drank tea while talking about how we have been doing, then I spent some time with my young siblings."

"And how are Katrina and Ramsey doing?" Nina asked.

"They are doing great," Lambi responded with a bit of hesitation. "Although Ramsey's… gotten into some weird podcasts."

"Which ones?" Donna asked with a hint of concern in her tone.

"The ones with Tinella Rosa," Lambi replied.

"Tiny Nose?" Nina asked in surprise. "What's he doing listening to her conspiracies?"

"Apparently it's been his thing ever since he joined the Beel Zatar Society," Lambi mentioned, shaking her head. "I just hope it doesn't influence him too much."

"It could be worse," Donna brought up. "He could be listening to a podcast from one of those Belos apologists."

"Ugh, don't even put that idea in my head," Lambi said while turning to Nina "How about you, Nina? What did you do today?"

"I dropped by Tally's office and she gave me some bounties," Nina responded. "I ended up rounding up most of the Chimera gang from different parts of the Titan,"

"Really? Which ones?" Donna asked. She hadn't heard about the former Glandus students turned Chimeras in years.

"Weaselton, Ruth, Zephyr, Brian, Horseface… oh, and I arrested Batters," Nina mentioned.

"Again?!" Lambi asked in shock,

"Yeah, you'd think he'd learn not to get in so much trouble after all these years," Nina said with a chuckle. "But I guess some folks don't learn…"

"Yeah, some witches never learn…" Donna muttered while looking down at her food.

"What was that?" Nina asked.

Donna sighed and looked up. "I just think that you're lucky that you didn't get hurt while you were bounty hunting today."

"Well, it wasn't like they'd be able to hurt me," Nina pointed out before she saw Donna giving her a look. "What?"

"Nothing, nothing," Donna responded while focusing on her meal. "But I also think… I also think that just because you're not working at school anymore, doesn't mean you have to go out putting your life on the line and looking for trouble and dangerous criminals to fight."

"Donna, you know that I can handle this job," Nina pointed out. "I've been doing this since-"

"Since before you knew you were about to be a mother?!" Donna exclaimed, slamming her fists on the table and standing up. "What if you had never come back? What would I and Lambi have done? For crying out loud, Nina, did you at least take Lambi into consideration before you went out to pick a fight?!"

Lambi was shocked by this. "Donna, that doesn't seem fair," she tried to say.

"Y-yeah, Donna, calm down," Nina said as she tried to ease the tension.

"No! I won't calm down!" Donna cried out while getting upset. "You're going to be a mother, Nina! You should start acting like it. I thought you would have learned to be less reckless!"

"I am doing this for you and Lambi!" Nina argued as she stood up. "For the kittens!"

"Are you?" Donna asked. "Or is that just your excuse because you're worried that being a mother would be too boring and you want to get some last thrills first? Are you really doing this for us? Or are you being selfish?!"

Nina looked alarmed by Donna's outburst while Lambi stood up and began to shout. "Donna, that's enough!" she told her. "Look, Nina knows what she's doing-"

"Oh, of course you're taking her side!" Donna retorted in anger. "You always take her side! It's the world against me all over again!"

"Nobody is against you, Donna," Lambi told her as she tried to calm herself down. "You're just getting worked up and arguing with Nina over nothing. For King's sake, the last thing we need is for us to be at each other's throats while we're expecting soon. This isn't you, Donna."

Donna stared at Lambi, seeing how upset she looked. Then she looked over at Nina… and saw how hurt she looked from her accusations. Donna blinked, her senses coming back to her as she realized… that she had done this.

And this only caused Donna to look more upset. But not with Nina or Lambi… but with herself. This caused the silver-haired witch to tear up and start to break down.

"Ooooh… waaaaaah, I'm so sorry, Nina!" Donna cried as Lambi and Nina immediately rushed over to help comfort her. They brought her over to the couch to sit on.

"Hey, hey it's alright," Nina assured her as Donna went to hug her. "It was just the hormones talking. I know you didn't mean it…"

Although that didn't mean that the words still didn't hurt.

"No, I shouldn't have yelled at you or called you selfish or dragged Lambi into my hissy fits!" Donna teared up while Lambi patted her back.

"Donna, you've had a hard day," Lambi told her. "Especially with the museum."

"I-It's just that," Donna sniffed as she looked at her wives. "It's just that I don't want… I don't want to see anyone else I care about… dying…"

Nina and Lambi shared a look, both of them knowing what Donna was talking about.

Beo. Tina. Conner. All dead. All dead because of Donna. Or at least, that's what she believed.

Concerned for Donna, the two stayed with her on the couch, helping calm her down…

Knock-knock-knock!

The three looked up to the door. After a moment of silence, Nina sighed and got up. "I'll get it," she said as she walked over to the door. When she opened it, she was surprised to see who it was. "Luz? Amity?"

"Hey, Nina," Luz waved as she and Amity looked past her, seeing Donna and Lambi both on the couch, Donna's eyes red from her crying. "Um, this isn't a bad time, is it?"

"Um…" Nina said as she turned to Donna and Lambi, who saw the Clawblights standing outside of their door.

"Hey Luz, hey Amity," Donna said while wiping her eyes. "Please, come in."

After a moment of hesitation, both Luz and Amity decided to walk into the apartment, Nina closing the door behind them.

"I thought you were still in the HR," Lambi mentioned.

"We had to quickly come back to see you," Amity said while she and Luz gave each other a wary look, noticing how upset Donna was. "Um, we wanted to talk to you about something, but if this is a big emergency you are dealing with right now, maybe we should-"

"Please, whatever it is, just tell me," Donna told them. "What is it that you two came all the way here to tell me?"

Luz and Amity shared another concerned expression before turning back to Donna. Luz sighed, deciding to come clean. "We think that… we believe that… well… Lupe might still be alive."

Silence filled the room. Nina and Lambi both looked shocked by this, but they immediately turned to Donna, worried about how she might react. As Luz, Amity, Nina, and Lambi looked at Donna, the silver-haired woman was giving this thousand yard stare upon hearing the news… then she looked down and felt her Abomination hand start to shake up to her arm as she remembered the monster that had killed her parents and bitten off her original hand.

And then she started to cry again.

I can already see the comments a mile away.

We've written this chapter in order to pass time after writing Book 3, and before writing Brimstones and Broomsticks. Out of all the characters, we've decided to have Donna to be the focus because of how she hasn't appeared in LC2024 so far. So now we have her in the starring center, along with Nina and Lambi.

Mank Manxley is an obvious parody of Mayor Manx from SWAT Kats. We figured that it'd be interesting to have Tally Snowpaws, a Cally Briggs expy, to be the one in charge of the Private Eye office and have a bumbling secretary like Mank to appear.

And then there's Ramsey and Katrina Lambada, two new OCs created by Jack_Skeletron to be the new children of Awassi, who has remarried to a werecat. We can't reveal the identity of who the father is yet, since he is going to appear in The Adventures of LOWTH.

Also to note, this chapter is dedicated to John Erwin, who's death was announced by the end of January. We had already worked on this before his death was announced, so it was admittedly poor timing on our part. And it has nothing to do with Conner being dead in LC2024. I've also added in David Lynch's dedication because I forgot to have it on the latest chapter of Book 3, since David Lynch is a influence in the making of Gravity Falls.

And you're probably wondering why not all of LOWTH are present, like Emira, and Gavin. Well, they are based on Bonesborough, and we figured something interesting for their team...

cooki15xd: Maybe. You just saw how Tito ended up.

Shuffollower:... No spoilers. I mean, wish we could communicate other than using guest reviews. But there's no way we can tell you without spoiling anything.

xndelongchamps: Honestly, it's just that some of Emily's crimes haven't been forgiven by some people. Minerva just holds that grudge towards her.

spantidem7: 1) I don't think you're being racist about it, but to best describe the US right now… Nazi Germany.
