Peter stood between the villains and OBake with Hiro, while Venom was containing GoGo. He looked over at Obake, and many questions rattled around in his head. How did he manage to pull all of this off? There was no way that he could have orchistrated all of this at once alone without some sort of outside help.
"How did you do this?" Peter asks. "I mean, the thing with Venom, I can see that. But how did you get Baymax under your control?"
"He slipped in a chip," Hiro answered that question. "I thought Baymax was acing off and found the chip. But when and how?"
Obake waved his finger at the screens, which showed that during the chaos of the fight, Noodle Burger Boy managed to slip into the control panel and place the chip inside Baymax. That was what caused him to malfunction and crash into the pond during the battle.
"Noodle Burger Boy." Hiro sighed as he saw it was his fault. "I should have been there, but I was-"
"Doing vital work." Obake proclaimed. He showed he was holding the power source Hiro made. "For me."
Obake then walked over to a device and placed the power source into it. Above it was the painting of the Great Catastrophe. "Lenore Shimamoto?"
"I'm a big fan," Obake stated. "Shimamoto built a rather unique machine." He showed the blueprints from the painting he stole. "It created a star."
"A star?" Hiro asked.
"It collapsed quickly," Obake admitted.
"That would create a giant shockwave," Hiro stated, confused how that went unnoticed.
"Wait. That's how she caused the Great Catastrophe." Peter said in shock.
"Oh, you are sharp, but New San Fransokyo is so much larger now, so I need a bigger bang," Obake stated, showing that he enhanced the machinery so that it would destroy the entire city. "I improved on Shimamoto's inadvertent discovery. It should be quite a show."
"Why didn't I listen to Granville?" Hiro said with a sigh.
"Because, like me, you were meant to push limits," Obake stated.
"Pushing limits is one thing... destroying a whole city full of innocent people is another!" Peter proclaimed in anger.
"Everyone will be... Aunt Cass. I have to warn her!" Hiro tried to run off but was stopped by Baymax. "Ugh!"
"If it's any comfort, even if she left now, she wouldn't make it out of the city in time," Obake stated.
"Wait." Globby had never heard of this plan before. "He's going to destroy San Fransokyo? Even Joe's Diner?"
Momokase scoffed as she walked off. "Your breath smells like garbage."
"You are a madman," Peter told Obake. "Treating all of these people like they are your playthings.
"Playthings?" Obake sounded almost offended by that. "I simply drive people to be better. You of all should be thankful for that."
Peter squinted his eyes, wondering what he meant by that. "What do you mean?"
"Oh, please, do you really think that it was a coincidence that the underground fighting ring was being robbed the same night that you were performing?" Obake asked him, getting Peter to freeze and hang on to his every word. "All I needed was the right person at the right place at the right time."
Peter felt his fist clench up as he was preparing to deliver a massive punch if this man was saying what he believed he was saying. "Are you saying that... it was you?" He asked Obake. "Did... did you hire that man to rob the place?"
"More like I told him where it would be, and there would be a car waiting... only I didn't supply the car," Obake said, seeing if he put the pieces together.
Peter flashed back to that fateful day. He remembered the man's face as he robbed the place, and all Peter did was step aside. He could have stopped that man, but he was fueled with anger and just let him pass. That is what led to the death of his uncle... that was all his fault. But this man in front of him is saying he manipulated events to lead up to his uncle's death. He let the man pass, but he is learning this man sent the killer to that location to set the chain of events.
"You... killed... my uncle?" Peter asked in anger as he snarled at Obake.
Obake shrugged. "I mean, I suppose if you really want to put a label on it, Cliff Robertson was the one who killed him."
"But you sent him there!" Peter snarled as he went to strike but Venom squeezed GoGo, reminding Peter he needed to behave or she would die. Peter froze and looked over towards Obake and snarled. "You are lucky... for now."
Back at Fred's house, everyone was gathering together while trying to get into contact with their missing friends.
"Hiro? Hiro?" Honey Lemon tried to contact him, but there was nothing coming in. "Nothing."
"I can't get in touch with Peter either," Teresa said as she walked back into the bedroom. "Peni said he isn't at the house and is on her way with the SP//DR."
"And GoGo isn't answering either," Wasabi commented.
"If Baymax were here, he could scan for him," Fred said as he eyed Mini-Max. "Can you scan for people, Mini-Max?"
"Sure, within a mini-radius," Mini-Max said.
"How mini?" Fred asks.
"This room," Mini-Max said, scanning the room. "I do not detect Hiro Hamada. Asparagus spear?"
"Okay, we have no GoGo, Peter, or Hiro." Teresa recapped. "So we gotta assume Obake has Hiro."
"Can we track Obake?" Wasabi wonders. "We know his machine will output a lot of energy."
"And we are able to scan for an energy surge." Teresa saw that was a good idea. "Let's pick up our equipment at SFIT, and get to the highest point in the city."
"Find Obake."
"And find our friends."
"You two will be quite safe here with me," Obake said, sending the others away to talk to them alone. "Three visionaries, just hangin'."
"It's not about me. If it weren't for GoGo, I'd be ripping you apart." Peter snarled.
"You not only killed his uncle, but you're gonna kill millions of people." Hiro proclaimed.
"Together, we're going to create a star." Obake proclaimed. "Congratulations, Hiro, that's some final project."
"No! Just because you can doesn't mean you should." Hiro stated.
"Uggh!" Obake scoffed when he heard that. "That's Granville talking."
Hiro realized he was right about that. "Because Granville was right. She's been right all along."
"Nonsense," Obake stated. "Do you know why Icarus plunged to his doom?"
"Because he flew too high," Hiro stated.
"Because he needed better wings." Obake corrected him. "We have the ability to remake the world, starting with this city. The worthy survive."
The others were in Wasabi's car and were driving as fast as they could. Well, as fast as Wasabi would willingly go.
"Wasabi, step on it," Teresa demanded.
"Way ahead of you," Wasabi said. "We are currently 5% over the speed limit."
Teresa sighed as she pulled out a remote GoGo built into the car for emergencies (or when she was annoyed by Wasabi's driving). "New driver."
Teresa picked up the pace, driving as fast as they could.
"Guys, just a heads up, I get a little car sick in the back sometimes," Fred warned them, gagging a little.
Peni and Honey stepped away from Fred.
Obake was now leading the three captives down the hall with Venom carrying GoGo in one hand. "Why are we here? You have my energy amplifier." Hiro wonders. "What more do you want?"
Obake stopped as he turned to face them. "A student."
"Sorry, what now?" Peter asks
"Granville doesn't understand your potential, but I do," Obake tells Hiro. "And I need a secondary teacher. I can't hope to accomplish all of this on my own. When my new city is complete, it will be a paradise for learning and research. I can't wait to see what we'll accomplish, together."
"What? You'd have to be crazy to think I'd ever join you!" Hiro stated.
"You're a bit worked up right now," Obake said. "I understand." He then opened a few cells with a snap. "Tragedy has molded us, intellect has driven us." He then had Venom toss GoGo and Peter into a separate cell of Hiro. "Now we stand at the doorway to greatness! Once it's all over and there's nothing left to save, - you'll see things differently."
"No, I won't," Hiro promised. "I'm not like you."
"Aren't you?" Obake asked, closing the doors. He then looked over towards the others. "Go. Set the wheels in motion."
"Ooh-ooh! An order off the secret menu." Noodle Burger Boy cheered. "Yummy!"
"I don't deny my method is harsh, but winning tends to settle any arguments," Obake said to the prisoners as he left.
Peter sighed as he sat down against the door. "I can't believe this is happening."
"You can't believe?" GoGo scoffed as she escaped the Symbiote tendrils. "I was kidnapped by your darker evil half being worn by that creep that has a thing for me."
"Yeah, okay, that is a pretty good runner-up to me discovering the psychopath we've been chasing the last few months actually set the wheels in motion to kill my uncle because he thought I was wasting my powers," Peter nodded. "Why did that stupid spider have to bite me? Maybe without it, none of this would be happening."
"What? Are you kidding?" GoGo asks. "Did you forget everything you've done for this city as Spider-Man?"
"And all the bad," Peter stated. "I created Shocker, Sandman, White Rabbit, Rhino, Jackal, Electro, Doc Ock, got Otto killed, Tadashi killed. All I've done was cause more chaos and trouble for the city."
GoGo sighed as she saw he needed to hear this she approached and sat down in front of him on her knees. "Okay, I am going to tell you something that I think you should hear."
"Okay..." Peter wasn't sure where this was going.
"I am better than you," GoGo informed him, getting Peter a little confused. "I'm better than you in a lot of ways, except you always find a way to have hope." She explained, getting a more surprised look from Peter. "You went out of your way to help everyone you've ever met. You protect people you barely know for years. You helped out the Scarlet Witch just because she was in trouble. You helped Otto when he lost his mind. You did everything you could to stop Jackal peacefully before resorting to violence. My point is, that Spider didn't change anything... It only enhanced who you are. You were always a good person. And that selfish reason you were using your powers? You did it for money to help your family. Even in your most selfish act, you are still looking out for others. The only one at fault is Obake... he hurt you, driving you to be greater. But you were already greater. You were always going to become Spider-Man. He just gave you a push. So, what do you say we get out of here, and kick his-"
That was when the door opened and Hiro was standing outside the cell, causing Peter to fall back. "Hey," Hiro said.
Peter looked up in shock. "Wait, how did you get out?"
That was when Globby dropped from the ceiling, causing GoGo to turn into a fight or flight. She ran to punch him, going right to strike Globby, but it didn't exactly go anywhere as she just went through his head, and pulled back, and no damage was done.
"It's okay, he's helping us." Hiro tells them.
"He is?" Peter asked as he stood up. "Why?"
"Well, I knew Obake was crazy, but I thought it was fun crazy." Globby defended. "Plus, I don't want to destroy the city. All my friends live there. Felony Carl and... um Felony Carl..."
"That's the whole list, isn't it?" GoGo asked sarcastically.
"Yeah..." Globby confirmed.
"So, wait, is there really nobody watching the cells?" Peter asks.
"Well... technically..." Globby muttered.
Down the hall, there was a secondary set of doors being watched over by Momokase who was throwing daggers into the wall. When she was doing so, Globby transformed into a steel bull and slammed into the doors, sending them flying.
"We are breaking out!" Globby tells her.
Momokase drew her sword and prepared to strike. "Counterproposal no."
Globby ran up to her and Momokase started to strike her, and it only ended with Globby either dodging or taking the strikes as his body was incapable of feeling pain.
"Globby, you okay?" Peter asks.
"Yeah, it looks worse than it feels." Globby promises.
"Let's see if we can change that," Momokase said, drawing a second blade, and charging at them.
GoGo picked up a disk and tossed it at her, causing Globby to morph and allow the lid to pass through. The lid smacked Momokase, sending her flying and Globby froze the floor, causing Momokase to hit the wall. Peter then immediately started to shoot as many webs at her, latching her to the wall.
"Hah!" Globby cheered as he stretched out to Momokase. "Whose breath smells like garbage now?"
Momokase scoffed. "Still yours."
Peter then webbed her mouth shut as they ran to escape. They ran across Baymax on a charging station and Hiro slowly approached him.
"Whoa, what are you doing? He's a bad robot now." Globby reminded him.
Hiro saw he had a point and sneaked back. "I'll come back for you, Baymax."
They began to make their way off wherever Globby was pointing them and they froze at who was at the end of the hall. Venom snarled, his tongue stretching out as spit drilled down his mouth.
"There's no way out," Venom promises. "You are stuck here with us... FOREVER!"
Peter got an idea and looked at Globby. "Globby, turn yourself into steel!"
"Sure!" Globby said, doing exactly that. "What's the- AH!"
Peter grabbed Globby and slammed him against the steel walls, causing a vibration to ring across the whole base as everyone felt the disturbance. Venom screeched as the vibrations began to cause him to become unstable, giving them a chance to escape. They ran over to where Globby showed some sort of escape hatch and latched onto them.
"Hold your breath!" Globby acted as an air bubble, taking them outside, and into the open water where he morphed into a life raft to get them to the land.
Globby swung himself and Hiro with Peter swinging with GoGo. They made their way to Hiro's place so he could get his gear and summon SkyMax to get GoGo her gear back. They landed right outside of the Cafe and Hiro made his way inside.
"Wait here," Hiro tells Globby.
"Why can't I come in?" Globby wonders.
"I don't have time to explain to you," Hiro stated, racing inside.
"Rude," Globby stated in anger but immediately calmed down. "But I get it."
SkyMax then landed aside and GoGo sighed as she pulled her spare gear out of it. "Oh, this feels good..." She stated, happy no longer feeling powerless after being held captive. "Guys, you there?"
"GoGo?" Teresa was shocked to hear her. "You okay? Where's Peter?"
"We're here, we're fine," Peter promised. "Where are you guys?"
"We're up on the tower trying to find you guys." Peni answered. "Where's Hiro?"
"Right here," Hiro called in. "Listen, Obake has control of Baymax. He used him to capture me. I only escaped because of Globby."
"I'm a good guy now!" Globby called into the comms.
"Yay, Globby." Honey cheered. "I knew you weren't all bad."
"Hey. It's the tall girl." Globby said with a cheer, pushing against GoGo to hear them. "She believed in me all along!"
"I'm really not that tall..." Honey whispered.
Obake watched as Venom got his bearings together and found Momokase on the wall. Kraven took one of his blades and cut the webbing off of her mouth.
"The idiot glob helped the prisoners escape," Momokase informed him.
Obake sighed as he looked to Venom. "Bring them back!"
"You promised us the girl." Venom reminded him.
"Bring them back, and then we will discuss this," Obake promised, watching Venom leave.
Kraven ripped Momokase off of the wall before she pushed him away. "Ugh! Why bother?"
"They need guidance," Obake stated. "My guidance."
Noodle Burger Boy was flying his way towards the lighthouse outside of the city using the Buddies from KreiTech. He had the power source with him as he made his way inside.
"Noodle Burger! We deliver! Hello?" Noodle Burger Boy called as he jumped inside. "A-hee-hee-hee-hee hee-hee-heeeee! This noodle printer's gonna ring everybody's bell! A-hee-hee-hee hee-heeee." He then placed the power source inside of the lighthouse and the place began to spark with electricity. "Time to fry the noodles..."
"Wait, I'm getting something," Wasabi called, their scanner was picking up the power source.
"Hiro, it's in the Kireina Point lighthouse," Teresa said.
"Copy that," Hiro said.
"How are we going to get there?" Honey wonders.
"Uggh! I'll go." Teresa sighed. "Be right there, H."
"Copy." Hiro said, getting his full attire on. "You guys stay where you are. Peter, bring them to the others."
"OK, but what are you going to do?" Globby asks.
"I'll improvise," Hiro shrugged.
Hiro screamed as Teresa flew him as fast as she could with Hiro on her back. "Ooh, I miss Baymax!"
Teresa looked back and gave him a brow under her eye mask. "Hey."
"Sorry." Hiro shrugged.
Teresa flew as close to the lighthouse as she could and saw that the power source was almost done charging the weapon. "Okay, how do you plan to get past that?"
"I've got something planned," Hiro said, jumping into the lighthouse and his magnetic gloves channeling the electricity and throwing it off.
Teresa dodged the electricity before it could hit. "Hey! Watch it!"
"Sorry!" Hiro said, getting as close to the power source as he could.
Getting to the power source, Hiro tried to pull it off, but it was stuck in place. "Teresa?"
Teresa flew in and quickly grabbed onto Hiro, pulling as hard as she could. When that still wasn't enough, she decided to use her rocket thruster to pull, and it did do the trick. But it also ended up sending them both flying due to the force and falling off the lighthouse.
But that was when Teresa opened her pack and the wings caught them, bringing them back upward. "Haha. That was so close."
"Yeah, it was," Teresa stated, flying them away.
But as she was flying them away, the power to the machine was already self-sustaining and was charging itself at this point.
Teresa flew the two of them off toward the tower where everyone was already there waiting. They landed and cheered when they saw they accomplished the mission.
"Guys, I did it!" Hiro cheered.
"Oh, yeah!"
"Up high, Hiro."
"Wow!"
"Great job, Hiro."
"Now we get Obake," GoGo stated.
That was when they saw something off in the distance, getting them to look out and see the lighthouse was glowing purple.
"Uh, what's that?" Globby asks.
The lighthouse exploded and a small star was beginning to form at the base of the lighthouse.
"The reaction became self-sustaining," Peni said in fear.
"Obake did it," Honey confirmed.
"I was too late," Hiro said in fear.
"What do we do?" WAsabi asks.
"Evacuate as many as we can." GoGo proclaimed.
"Not enough time," Peter stated. "By the time they started evacuating, half the city will be underwater."
"He's right, we have to stop this." Hiro agreed. "We have to stop that shockwave."
"There's no way to stop something with that much force." Wasabi reminded him.
"Yes, there is: with an equal and opposite force." Hiro proclaimed.
"That is possible. But we'd need something enormous." Peni informed him.
"Enormous? We got that." Hiro stated.
Peter sent a word out to Yuri warning her to begin evacuating the nearby areas where the lighthouse would likely strike as they begin to form a plan. It was hard explaining that a star was about to explode near the city. Bringing everyone to the docks, they watched as a gigantic kaiju robot came out of the ocean. It towered over all of them, and they were shocked, to say the least.
"Ever get one of those moments where you feel like you missed something?" Peter asked Teresa.
"Yeah," Teresa agreed.
Hiro then opened one of the three eyes to show himself and Fred inside. "If we use the amplifier to make the Kaiju super-jump into the bay The giant wave could counteract the star's shockwave. Guys, the city needs us. We were the ones who decided to be superheroes. Now's the time to be super."
Peter was proud of how far Hiro came from that bot-fighter he met wasting his talents. "Hiro's right." He stated, placing his mask back on. "We can do this."
"Globby, Honey Lemon, you guys need to create a breaker to protect Fishtown."
"Wasabi, Peter, GoGo, keep people away from the shoreline."
Everyone began to do exactly that as they were forming a giant barrier using Globby and they even got the cops to help with the evacuation.
"You're very brave, Globby," Honey said, using her chem-balls to strengthen his hold. "Good luck."
"If I don't make it, tell Felony Carl he was my he was my whole list," Globby asked of her.
Honey looked a little confused. "I don't know what that means, but I promise."
The star was beginning to grow bigger and bigger, meaning that this was going to be ten times stronger than the one that Shimomoto created. GoGo and Peter watched as the people were being evacuated onto the bus and looked out to the star. She grabbed his hand and became scared.
"You think we can do this?" GoGo wonders.
"I have faith in them." Peter declared. Then he felt something off and that was when he was tackled by something large. Peter was sent falling and landed on top of a building and skidded where he saw it was Venom. "Eddie!"
GoGo went to help, but was stopped when a sword almost struck her and she saw it was Momokase. "Bring me the boy and you'll be spared."
"Ugh!" GoGo groaned, getting up and preparing for a fight when Wasabi stepped in.
"Stay with the bus and protect the kids," Wasabi tells her, activating his lasers. "I'll take care of Momakase."
"We both know you're no match for me," Momokase stated, preparing to fight.
"Actually, since we last met, I watched some instructional fencing videos online," Wasabi admitted. "So, bring it!"
Wasabi then went in strike as the two attacked and ended up blocking one another attack. GoGo rolled over to the truck, signaling the driver to take off. The driver did, just as Kraven leaped off the bus and tackled GoGo.
"The Spider cares for you, that much is clear! You are his favorite out of the pack!" Kraven stated, watching GoGo struggle to escape his grasp. "I don't see the pleasure."
"See this!" GoGo stated, throwing her disk, watching it bounce and ricochet off the road, the barriers, and then back and smacking Kraven in the face. "Didn't see that coming!"
"Kraven enjoys it when his prey fights to defend itself," Kraven proclaimed, drawing his spear. "Show me your will to live!"
Teresa was flying around, keeping an eye out for civilians with her goggles when she smacked into something, causing her to groan. Getting the flight back in order, she looked and saw that there was nothing there. She was almost confused when suddenly the Buddy drones became visible, and Noodle Burger Boy was on them.
"Golly, miss, you seem to hit your head, would you care for some ice?!" Noodle Burger Boy asked, the Buddies shooting off ice cubes at her.
"Seriously!?" Teresa asked, quickly spinning so her pack took most of the hits. "Out of everyone, I get stuck with Noodle Burger Boy?" She then drew her tasers and prepared to strike. "I feel like I should be offended."
With Hiro and Fred, they were in the Kaiju and making their way out to the sea. Using Hiro's energy amplifier, they were preparing to use the Kaiju to stop the shockwave from destroying San Fransokyo.
"You ready for this?" Hiro asked Fred.
"Yes, I am." Fred stated.
That was when Mini-Max came flying in, wearing a blue version of Baymax attire. "No, you're not! Not without Mini-Max at your side!"
"Ho-ho! Suh-weet dramatic entrance, Mini-Max." Fred complimented. "You're getting the hang of that."
"When that star implodes, we jump," Hiro tells them the plan, waiting for the right moment.
Rejoining Peter in action, he delivered a powerful kick to Venom, propelling him through the air to crash onto the pavement. Peter swung away with all his might. As he navigated the cityscape, he failed to notice Venom's swift counterattack, resulting in a brutal tackle. The impact sent Peter crashing into a building, but he quickly recovered, scaling the wall with his abilities. He observed Venom's relentless pursuit, demolishing part of the building with a mere swipe of his hand. In a swift move, Peter dodged the oncoming assault, landing safely on an adjacent rooftop.
"I bet you are missing the black suit now, aren't ya?" Venom asked.
"Will you shut up?!" Peter asked, shooting webs to silence Venom.
Venom then formed a second mouth in his stomach. "That's it. He can quip it out, but he can't take it."
Then he ripped the webbing off and went to attack Peter again. GoGo tossed her disks at Kraven, watching as he blocked them with his spear and charged at GoGo once again. When she tried to get away, he threw his spear into her leg disk, causing it to fall off of her suit and causing her to fall over.
Kraven then grabbed her by the head, slamming her helmet into the pavement. "Did you think that would work?"
"No," GoGo groaned. "But I knew it would give her an opening."
Then out of nowhere, Kraven was grabbed by the leg, turning to see SP//DR crawl out of the tunnels and spin around, throwing Kraven as far as she could. GoGo groaned as she got back up and rubbed her head.
"A few minutes earlier wouldn't have killed ya, would it, kid?" GoGo asked.
"Eh," Peni shrugged.
Peter swung a few buildings away before Venom latched onto him again with a web. When he was grabbed, he was then thrown and slammed onto the wall of a building. Peter then spun and kicked Venom, sending him flying and landing on the other side of the street.
"Come on, Venom, is that the best you've got?" Peter asked, preparing to strike again. "I'll stick with the red, torn, and blue."
"Oh, we can shred more than a suit!" Venom promised charging over towards Peter.
Peter prepared to take a hit and was sent flying. He landed on the street where people had luckily already been evacuated. Venom charged over to strike, Peter just leaped over and dodged the strike and then shot two webs. He latched onto Venom, then threw him into a lamp post. Peter sighed, hearing the sky hum, and saw that the star was ready to blow.
Venom charged while he was distracted and slammed into Peter, taking him over and throwing him up into the air. Venom then shot out a web and yanked him, sending Peter falling and slamming him into the street. Peter groaned as he got back up, but did manage to grab a bag from a trash can. Then Peter was grabbed by a tendril from Venom which he was then launched into the air and slammed into a water tower.
With Wasabi, he was still fighting off against Momokase as he blocked a few strikes, but Momokase managed to get one hit in, cutting his hair.
"Ahh! My dreads!" Wasabi cried, seeing she also got his left laser.
Wasabi braced herself, readying her stance to fend off her foe even with a single laser in hand. Just then, Peni sprang into action, launching a stream of webbing that snaked through the air and ensnared Momokase's hands, preventing her from escaping. Momokase glanced back, catching sight of Peni and GoGo defiantly poised and prepared for battle, their determination palpable.
As Momokase attempted to break free and flee, GoGo swiftly hurled a disk that whirled through the air with precision, striking Momokase squarely in the back and sending her crashing to the ground with a thud.
It was in that tense moment that the Noodle Burger Boy robot descended dramatically, its heavy weight plummeting from above and crashing into the earth with a resounding impact. Almost simultaneously, Teresa soared down from the sky, her iridescent wings folding seamlessly into her sleek, high-tech pack as she landed gracefully.
Together, they had accomplished the impossible; they had not only saved the day but also successfully apprehended Obake's minions, leaving a sense of triumph hanging in the air.
Obake was watching as his plan was underway while his minions were being taken care of through the actions of Big Hero 9. Something he was expecting as a possibility, but the actions he saw weren't going to stop his master plan. In the corner of the room, he held onto the fragment of the Venom Symbiote that he took from Globby.
Obake however felt the need to talk as he looked over and activated Baymax. "Perhaps you'll be useful as some company."
"Hello." Baymax activated. "I am Baymax. I am unable to move."
"Well, I can't have you running off, but I thought a chat might be nice," Obake said, seeing the expressionless look in the robot's eyes. "I'll be remembered forever because of what's about to happen. Impressive, isn't it?"
Baymax scanned Obake. "You are in need of medical care."
"Oh, this? A souvenir from a childhood mishap." Obake shrugged.
"The damage is significant, and growing," Baymax warned him. "It is affecting your temporoparietal junction."
"The part of the brain that allows one to tell right from wrong, I know," Obake confirmed, working on his computers.
"Your condition is treatable," Baymax said.
"Why would I want to do that? It's been quite liberating." Obake proclaimed with a grin.
"Is it time now? Now? How about now?" Fred asked, preparing to launch, watching as Hiro eyed the star. "Ooh, I know. Now!"
"Now!" Hiro cried, activating the Kaiju to jump. "It's Kaiju cannonball time."
The jump flew into the air, causing the entire creature to leap into the air.
"I just want you to know that being a superhero with you has been an honor," Fred tells the team over comms.
"You guys are the best," Honey said.
"I'm proud of what we've done," Wasabi said.
"If this is it, then I would be glad to go alongside you," Teresa said.
"You guys are the best friends I could ever ask for." Peni agreed.
"Same," GoGo said. "Peter?"
Peter groaned as he tried to stand back up. "Sorry, guys, wrapping up the Venom thing here. But... if this goes wrong, both the star and what I am planning to do... I want to tell you guys that I am proud of all of you." Venom leaped onto the building roof, snarling as he eyed Peter. "This is the best team that I have had the pleasure to fight alongside. And I fought with the Avengers, so... that's some high praise coming from me."
"Inspiring words," Mini-Max said.
"Guys, I know I've made some mistakes, but..." Hiro was saying.
"We've all made mistakes." Peter groaned, standing to fight and finish the battle.
"But we get through it because we're a team," GoGo stated. "Let's make some waves. And Peter? Beat his backside."
"With pleasure..." Peter promises.
"We've toyed with you long enough!" Venom stated.
"Okay..." Peter said, raising his hands in defeat. "You win..."
"Of course we win!" Venom stated, marching over towards him.
"Not you. IT!" Peter stated, not talking to Eddie, but to the Symbiote. "The Symbiote proved its point. I am nothing without it. Take me back." He then got on his knees, waiting for it to come. "That's what it wants, right? A reunion with its first love?"
"The Symbiote has found a better partner in ME!" Eddie stated.
"Me?" Peter asks. "Not us?"
As the Symbiote began to detach itself from Eddie, a wave of exhaustion washed over him, causing him to collapse to the ground, unconscious. In that moment of vulnerability, the dark, writhing mass of the Symbiote slithered over to Peter, its form pulsating with an ominous energy. Peter felt its cold, sinewy tendrils enveloping him, but this time it was different. Unlike before, when the Symbiote had exerted an overwhelming dominance over his mind and body, he sensed a significant shift in its power. It was like a shadow of its former self—less a master, more a weary companion. Peter's strategy had succeeded: the Symbiote was now severed from Eddie, and its grip on him was noticeably weaker.
"You tricked us!" The Symbiote cried in Peter's mind. "The emotions! They are all wrong! You never wanted us back!"
"Wow. You do know me well." Peter commented.
"Fool! You let us back in!" The Symbiote prepared to attack. "And we will have you!"
But when the Symbiote tried to attack Peter, he thought of everyone he loved and cared about over the years. Everyone who was still in his life, and those who he had lost. Everyone who was always there for him over the years. Peter then walked out from behind them, showing that he would always still have them on his mind, and would always remember who he was because of them.
"Still slow on the outtake, huh, V? You're a disease! They are the cure." Peter stated.
The Symbiote then detached from Peter, trying to make its way back over towards Eddie. But Peter quickly snatched it up with a bag and closed it. "Oh, no you don't." He then looked off to the sky, seeing the star about to blow. "We get to see how this plays out together, V."
The star had finally collapsed in on itself and began to morph into a giant explosion, creating a shockwave, sending a gigantic tidal wave toward San Fransokyo. GoGo clung to a small cat she found. Teresa looked over and Peni exited the suit to hold her sister. Peter watched the tidal wave approaching the city. Yuri was getting people out of the area when she saw the shockwave beginning. Fred and Hiro began their descent as they slammed into the ocean, creating a massive shockwave.
"I'm questioning all my life choices." Globby cried as he saw the wave.
"You got this, Globby!" Honey cheered him on.
The shockwave, or at least what was left of it began to hit Globby. There were tons of debris and holes forming and Honey worked fast to cover them up with her chem-balls. It didn't take long for the wave to calm down and the wall held, saving the city.
" It worked!" Globby cheered.
"Oh! I knew you could do it!" Honey cheered, leaping to hug the expanded mess.
"Yes!" Peni and Teresa cheered.
Peter removed his mask and looked out to see that they had done it. They stopped the chaos. "You did it, kid." He couldn't believe how fast Hiro thought of a solution. "You did good." Then he looked down to the Symbiote. "Now... it's time that this relationship was broken up for good..."
Obake watched as the city wasn't destroyed and his lab was caught in both of the shockwaves, causing a whole lot of chaos to happen around them. One of the pieces of rubble smashed into the Symbiote sample that began to slither away.
"Hiro." Obake was shocked to see he stopped his invention. "How could he possibly...?"
"Hiro is clever and resourceful," Baymax commented.
"My new city... my dream," Obake said in sorrow. "They still remember Shimamoto, they revere her."
"My scan indicates that this structure is sustaining damage," Baymax warned him.
"This wouldn't have mattered, I would've lived forever, the man who remade the city into something perfect," Obake stated in anger. He then looked over to Baymax and sighed. He reached out and removed the chip.
"There, there." Baymax tried to comfort him.
"You should go," Obake tells him.
"You are in danger," Baymax warned him.
"Yes, I'm aware of that!"
"Do I have your permission to help you?"
"Go to him. Go to Hiro! Tell him I still think we would have done great things together." Obake then made his way back over and sat in his chair.
"I am a personal healthcare companion," Baymax said. "I cannot leave until you say you are satisfied with your care."
Obake sighed as he watched everything crumble around him. "I am satisfied with my care."
Baymax started to walk away from Obake, observing as his stronghold crumbled. At that moment, a tiny fragment of the Symbiote approached, just as a boulder tumbled down upon it.
Hiro and Fred now had a new problem as the Kaiju was beginning to sink and the power source was actually damaged in the shockwave, which was all for the best. They tried to escape, but there was no chance of escaping without power.
"Everything's jammed!" Fred cried.
That was when Baymax made it over and ripped off the robot's eye socket. "I was alerted to your need for-"
"Baymax!" Hiro was happy to see him again as he jumped and hugged the robot.
"Hiro." Baymax almost sounded happy and hugged him.
"We are still sinking." Mini Max said as Fred hugged Baymax.
"It is time to go." Baymax said.
Flying over towards the dock, they saw that they were all surrounded by the people they saved, and even Yuri and a few other cops.
"There they are!"
"Oh! The guys are OK!"
"Nice job, genius."
GoGo then punched him. "You helped the bad guy create a star."
"I-I know," Hiro said.
That was when she gave him a friendly punch. "You also saved the city."
"Thanks, but none of this would have happened if I hadn't been so... me," Hiro said.
"Tadashi was right," Baymax said. "You are a good kid."
Everyone then came together in a hug. However there was one person missing.
"Where's...Spider-Man?" Hiro wonders, not giving away his identity.
"Mom, I don't know what you heard on the news, but the city is fine," Karmi said as she was on the phone with her parents. She walked into her labs and sighed. "Look, if that were true, I would be under-"
Karmi froze when she saw Spider-Man standing in her labs, tossing the Symbiote into the same containment that he escaped from.
"Mom, I gotta go," Karmi said, hanging up. "Spider-Man? Is that... the Symbiote?"
"Yes, it is." Peter said, turning up the temperature to as high as it could go, watching, and making sure that the Symbiote was destroyed this time. "And don't worry, I removed your friends first."
Karmi looked worried until she heard that and looked over to see that her dishes had been moved from the containment first. She sighed and walked over and picked one up, seeing they were fine. "Oh, thank goodness." Then a thought entered her mind. "Wait, how did you know about-" But when she looked back, she saw he was already gone. She then squealed when she realized what happened. "Spider-Man knows my work! Spider-Man knows my work!"
"It was a countdown to catastrophe, but thanks once again to Big Hero 9, I am fine." The newscaster stated. "And the city is, too. Which is what I was worried about. Who are these mysterious do-gooders?"
"They are exhausted," Teresa stated as she sat on the couch, Peter and Peni sitting on the other cushions. "And need a night off."
"Even if it adds to May's cooking?" Peter asked, seeing May walk over with some food.
"Alright! Let's have some time together," May said as she sat down alongside her family. "It feels like forever since we've done this. Just the four of us."
Peter smiled and looked at his family. "Yeah, we should try and do it more often." That was when his phone went off and he looked it over. "Huh... Professor Granville wants to see Peni tomorrow."
"What?" Peni asks. "Your principal wants to see me?"
"Why?" Teresa wonders.
"Doesn't say." Peter shrugged.
The next day, Peni made it to Professor Granville 's office and saw Hiro was there. "Hey, Peni. What are you doing here?"
"Professor Granville wanted to see me," Peni answered.
That was when the door opened and Granville was standing there. "Ah, yes, would you two come in?"
"Uh, Professor Granville, if this is about my final project, I'm-"
"Getting an A, for showing ingenuity and saving the city," Granville said, showing her computer, which was full of photos from the Bugle, hating on the heroes for saving the city."
"Thank you, Professor Granville," Hiro said. "Uh, for everything. For trying to teach me about limits." He then handed the power source. "I think I get it now."
"It's a lesson I've had to relearn a few times myself, Mr. Hamada," Granville says. "Everyone makes mistakes." She then walked over and placed the power source in a safe. "But don't get too comfortable. Next semester will be even more of a challenge. I hope you can handle it."
"Yes, ma'am," Hiro said.
"As for you, Ms. Parker," Granville said to Peni. "I would like to offer you a place in this school."
Peni froze when she heard that. "Uh, I'm sorry?"
"I would like to offer you a full enrollment to SFIT," Granville said. "If you want it."
Peni was shocked to hear that as she looked to Hiro who shrugged. She smiled and looked to Granville . "I might wanna talk to my family first, but... I totally accept!"
Granville seemed to accept that answer as she allowed them to leave. "Hiro... do you know what happened to him?"
Hiro wondered that himself.
"I do not detect Aken comma Bob," Baymax said as he and Hiro were searching the water floor for Obake.
"He couldn't have survived this," Hiro said, seeing the destruction. "It's impossible."
"You should know by now, kid, dealing with our line of work, nothing is impossible," Peter said as he watched from the beachfront. He wasn't helping or anything, he just happened to have his comm in while he and GoGo were relaxing on the beach. "This is Spider-Man, logging off..."
"You said you wouldn't bring work," GoGo said, sunbathing on a chair.
"That wasn't work, that was my older brother instincts wanting to protect the kid," Peter said, removing the comm. "Today, it is just you, me, and SPF100..."
Across the city, a new business was beginning a new branch as a limo drove up and parked right outside. The building had a DNA strand as its logo, and two people stepped out of the vehicle.
"What do you think, son?" The elderly man asked his teen son.
"Eh, looks a little flashy," He commented.
"Yeah, well, it tested well with the focus groups," The elderly man said as they walked inside. "And this gives us a chance to still see each other while you go to that school of yours."
"Dad, don't make it sound like a big deal," His son chuckled as they headed inside.
"Well, well," Someone said, getting the two of them to look over and see it was Liv Amara. "As I live and breathe. Norman Osborn is in San Fransokyo."
"Liv," Norman seemed happy to see her as he approached and gave her a handshake. "You remember my son, Harry?"
"Of course, your dad talked about you all the time," Liv said.
"What brings you by?" Norman wonders.
"Well, we have a meeting," Liv reminded him. "Or did you forget? The new research project?"
"Oh, right, no, come right this way," Norman said, leading her to his office.
COMING SOON...
In the midst of smoke and disarray, Peter was gripped by panic. A fire had erupted, and as he reached for his mask, he realized his mask socket was shattered from the explosion. Struggling to his feet, he scanned the area, attempting to grasp the situation. Suddenly, his attention was drawn to a small sphere tumbling from an opening in the ceiling, rolling down the debris-strewn floor. When the sphere landed, it began to flash green, its golden casing clear and Peter panicked.
With every ounce of strength, Peter sprinted away, but a powerful explosion detonated behind him, propelling him forward and crashing him against the unforgiving wall. Disoriented but determined, he rose to his feet and squinted through the dust and debris. From the jagged opening in the wall, a peculiar silhouette emerged, gliding gracefully downward. It was a glider, sleek and ominous in shape, and atop it sat an enormous figure.
The rider loomed large, with sharply pointed ears that jutted out from a head shrouded in shadows. His skin was a mesmerizing mix of deep greens and blacks, swirling together like a stormy forest, while a tight-fitting jumpsuit in shades of black and grey clung to his form, accentuating his imposing presence. Every detail painted a vivid picture of a being both alien and formidable, as he descended with an air of unsettling confidence.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
The spider that escaped from Doctor Olivia Octavius' labs crawled up the arm of someone in a lab, and bit down on their palm.
"Ow!" A voice squealed, smacking the spider, killing it. But not before the damage was already done. "What...?"
