A/N: I am working on a project based on this fanon universe. I have already set up a page with art and scripts about the first few episodes. My partner has begun making more art on it. This fanfic is a prequel of the project which is actually about an artist (who gave me permission to make a project about) set in a fantasy AU. If anyone is interested in knowing more can send a message.
The Trinity, known as the founders had asked of the great and powerful Presence for a great request. Viewing the suffering of magical beings and aliens being treated with cruelty over millennia, they decided to retreat to a magical plain field from beyond Earth's solar system.
Looking at it, the trio was pleased with the haven. With the help of animals and magic, as well as extraterrestrial science, the realm looked like a result of fantasy and science fiction combined.
Informing non-human entities of any kind was a bit difficult but magic was on their side. As soon as creatures were aware, they came to settle. From mythological creatures to extraterrestrials and mechanical beings. In need of leaders, the trinity became the council, each with their territory to rule.
The trinity each ruled their own country, Hernan ruled Kandor, Bekka ruled Orion, and Kirk ruled Darc.
There were…unfair casualties, yet anyone 'special' was welcomed to settle and live peaceful lives. Why go through the maximum effort of being accepted by humans who kill anything they do not understand?
It was difficult for humans to move past their hatred of the supernatural, so it was best to leave them be. It was not long before a society and lifestyle were created in Dracken Calipso, most residents hardly remembered their former homes. Ironically, to them, planet Earth felt like a myth from fairytales.
Running a country of monsters and talking animals was a challenge that King Kirk was a bit insecure about. As a leader, he needed to be what his country needed. Of course, it was not easy but he had strength along with his intellectual wisdom. He hired an elite team of robotic beings to guard and protect the country to make the crime rate drop.
Making decisions, minimizing taxes, and being present at nobility parties and holiday outings would have been exhausting to an average human. Vampires had more endurance, also, Kirk was too devoted to his mission which was protecting his kingdom.
At the time of all that, citizens were at peace in D.C. Everyone lived normally. Well as normal as living with supernatural beings AND extraterrestrials. Not to mention animal-human hybrids gifted with human intellect and speech.
Cities and a new society formed. It was an era of civilization and sensitivity. Females were meant to be treated as male equals and discrimination was a much smaller problem than on Earth.
Though some communities were still looked down upon, communities like those of free-spirited nomadic cultures.
"Zee!" An elderly Romani man called out as he searched each caravan. Then he noticed that some children were catching Jubilee Fruit that fell. The man sighed and then walked to the tree to look up. "Zayara! How many times have I told you to not climb up trees this high?"
"But Tata Giovanni, it takes too long to use a ladder! And I have been climbing trees since I was—".
"Zayara! Come down at once".
Zayara climbed down. The kids were impressed by how it seemed like she was moving exactly like an animal. "Tata, I was just climbing a tree".
"But it is not the behavior I taught you", he frowned before sighing. "Come with me, you are supposed to come practice for our upcoming performance in the town".
As she walked to the area, she saw some kids playing. She always wanted children but saw nothing in any man she knew for the last three hundred and fifty years. They were all just flings, she never went further than a kiss. The reason was that they were all lustful and never understood that she wasn't going to be tied down. To her, that seemed like the opposite of the Romani nature.
"Zee! Right on time!" Amelie called. "I need to know which side of the stage I must 'pretend' to walk out of".
"You forgot again?" Zayara sighed. "Amy, we use the left side and please remember not to get the pixie dust in your mouth…again".
"That was just one time during dress rehearsal!" Amy pouted.
"You shouldn't forget how the act will be because your extraterrestrial acquaintance is going to see your performance".
"Great, now I don't want to smile on stage".
Zee just giggled at that complaint. Her sister figure was close with a Kandorian citizen, who was arriving in Darc, more specifically Carmilla Drop City where they were settling.
The Zatara Romani Tribe rarely went to Kandor, the reason was that 'aliens' knew little about their ways. And they were more insensitive to their community than creatures from Darc and Orion.
"Maybe we should have some cotton clouds, I earned enough to buy for Bartley and a third person, hopefully, he-who-must-not-be-named will not be there".
"Shouldn't you wait until after our performance? You can earn enough money from the tips that people throw at us. And you shouldn't waste time on Kandorian city folk, try to move on, I see no reason for you to be pissed by the guy who was mean to you".
"The blue-faced man is an alien rat!" Amy exclaimed. Some kids were laughing at that comment. "No, he is a literal rat! He has the fur, tail, and the teeth of one". She stated.
"All the more reason that you should move on".
"Say, Zay, who have you moved on with this week after breaking up with Lloyd?", The light blue-haired woman smirked slyly at the older dark blue-haired woman. Zayara just made a 'tch' sound and walked to her tent to check on her stage dress.
Kirk was finally done reading the new list of shipments from Kandor. Despite being more scientifically intelligent than the other two rulers, he still felt annoyed with how the two countries were slightly more advanced than Darc. No, Kandor was more advanced, Orion was trying to be historically accurate.
One of his bat companions flew to his office, landed on his desk, and spoke in mimicry of his friend who ruled the realm called Kandor.
(Hernan's Voice):
Kirk, I won't be meeting you at the castle. I am already on my way to the Carmilla Park venue. I'm afraid there wouldn't be enough time to have a men's play date.
Kirk groaned in irritation. If they didn't notice the article saying the celebratory event was starting sooner than the original schedule, one would be insulted.
Shit!
Ten minutes later, he arrived in a Pegasus carriage. Walking out, he grumbled as his bat acolytes rolled a red carpet to the royal booth seats. Walking as quickly as he could, he noticed his closest friend, the ruler of Kandor chuckling.
"Don't laugh. You how unnecessary the carpet path is for me", Kirk grumbled. Hernan smirked and teased.
"Isn't that the perfect way for people to know how much power you have over them?"
"Quiet, the opening act is starting".
"Since when are you into this kind of stuff?"
Kirk just shushed the Kryptonian, who always made him forget he was born an only child. Queen Bekka came back from the ladies room. "Hey Kirk, I'm surprised you came to the festival".
"Bekka, you're encouraging Hernan's childish torment".
"Shush bat!" Hernan playfully scolded. The vampire scowled at him. The royals observed the stage set up in the park's center as acrobats gave an entertaining display. Along with Flamenco dancers and circus clowns. It wasn't anything Kirk hadn't seen.
"The best part has finally begun. Can't wait for some sexy Romani dance. I wonder if I could invite them to my castle—ow!" Hernan was whistling but winced as Bekka nudged him harshly.
"Control yourself Space Boy!"
On stage, a lanky jester announced a final act which was a dance performance of a well-known Roma tribe.
"We had a full course of entertainment, but now for our final act today I present…the Zatara Sequence!"
Mist had started forming all around the stage. Then it swirled, finally exploding into purple glitter, revealing a group of the Zatara family giving a pose. As they performed, Kirk had full focus on one of the dancers. A young woman with long dark blue hair was about to perform a belly dance solo. She had a two-piece belly dance dress, and then Hernan whistled.
"Never knew blue hair and purple eyes were a smoking combination".
Kirk immediately leaned far forward, to examine the lady. Her hair was dark blue…with sparkling purple eyes. The most shocking fact was that she didn't have the body marks of a Romani. She seemed to be from a completely different humanoid race. "…no…it can't be…".
Then as she made a final pose, the vampire's red eyes widened in realization. It was her…an old friend named.
"Zayara! Give a round of applause for Zayara!"
Now he needed to have a word with this dame.
A/N: I wanted to use characters from an elseworld DC universe as a way of adding A LOT of fun original characters. As some of you figured out; yes, Zayara is my original alternate Zatanna.
