"The Kamisato Clan has withdrawn from the usual meeting of the Tri-Commission?"
This question, vocalized by the Raiden Shogun, only got a nervous looks from the two other clan leaders. Both Hiiragi Shinsuke and Kujou Takayuki were caught off-guard by this development, knowing that, despite the many issues hurled at the Kamisato Household, they never backed down from such an important aspect of governance. To report to the Raiden Shogun was a necessary step to claim in the duty of upholding Eternity. Yet, with their missing status by their own will, the disruption was bound to cause some serious repercussions.
A defiance of the divine, this was indeed a most heinous crime. Yet, albeit both Clan Leaders would usually gloat over such a development, they could tell this was too bold to be a hare-brained move. No, there was more to it, something that they couldn't pick up from a mere glance as they tried and failed to grasp if the young Kamisato Lord had lost his mind or actually found a way to make his own clan stand over not only theirs but the Shogun herself. Preposterous to consider, but surely it felt equally possible to losing his mind outright.
The Electro Archon's eyes dully read the report again, and she was even more mystified by the inane last words of such letter where, in Lord Kamisato's own explanation, 'a bigger piece of news' was soon to be introduced to the Tri-Commission. A trick, a ploy to ultimately show their true colors by detaching the entire Yashiro Commission and have it join Watatsumi. Truly, that sounded like the most likely outcome, but it was something else that caught the Raiden Shogun's attention. A new messenger carrying indeed the most nefarious 'grand news' promised by the first report.
"I-It is by will of Lord Kamisato Ayato on behalf of not just the Kamisato Clan but- but the entirety of Inazuma, that a challenge has been presented to the Raiden Shogun for the claiming of the throne as Archon. As per the laws of this c-country, the Electro Archon h-has to accept and face a champion selected b-by Lord Kamisato himself."
It took a moment for the automated entity known as the Shogun to dig into that specific law. Amendment 7 of the Legal Draft 125 by decision of Raiden Makoto upon the possibility of 'misuse of power' and 'tyranny', the position of Electro Archon can be claimed upon victory over challenge against the current holder of such title. This was not a new law she had forgotten about, but she had been sure only a handful knew and even less (if not none) would be so keen to use it against her.
She had slain all those that pretended to be ready to face her might, and while the Raiden Shogun was the far cry of what once was the monstrous and yet powerful Raiden Ei, her creator, she still had more than enough to crush any foolish mortal so keen to test her patience and might. That being said, she was a bit more confused (and slightly concerned) when the required approval of the current head shrine maiden of the Narukami Shrine came through in less than a hour after the second message, not only confirming the challenge but also name-dropping the one that was supposed to challenge her.
Kratos of Sparta. Absolutely nothing in her archive had anything on this name or wherever he came from. All she knew was that, if Miko was keen to bet on this man, then it meant that he may actually be a threat to her. In fact, this last bit was what made this challenge even more relevant.
After that turbulent and most chaotic meeting as the Tri-Commission 'swore loyalty to her and only her' (which was utterly irrelevant if she was to, somehow, lose the challenge), she decided this was enough of a reason to converse with her creator. And her creator was... most absent-minded, which wasn't anything new to the Raiden Shogun. Duels happened, this was how she addressed the matter but-
"Miko has supported this specific champion."
"Which makes her a greater fool than I suspected her to be. You are flawless, you are eternity, you are the blade upon this world that I should have been which can persist in perpetuity."
Such a shamelessly hollow praise and flattery as the automated woman knew this already. That was beside the point of it all but... her creator didn't listen. Despite her own best effort, her cries were left unanswered. And while this 'trust', so falsely given to her on principle rather than genuine awareness, did little to assuage a strange gnawing doubt nibbling at the back of her mind.
She knew, deep down, that whatever was coming was not going to be an easy fight for her. Not at all.

So, I had a wild random thought after playing the newest world of HSR, but damn is Amphoreus so much Kratos-coded. I wanna see someone write a story there with Kratos getting coaxed to do the one thing he just learned not to do for fun: killing Gods/Titans.
