In this chapter, NYC will be terrorized by the Master Planner!

But it isn't Doctor Octopus this time. Though I do intend to feature him in this chapter. I figured he didn't have to appear only once.

What's that? Who is the Master Planner then?

Read and find out.

Chapter 14: The Master Planner

Honeybee and Spider-Man heard on the news that the Master Planner was stealing chemicals.

One might wonder what he needed all those chemicals for.

Was he trying to gain superpowers?

Perhaps he felt left out considering how many Marvel characters had superpowers.

Did he not realize that with great power came great responsibility?

They also heard that Doctor Octopus had escaped from prison.

It seemed one of the guards had gotten drunk and had left the keys in plain reach. That must have been a real slap to the face to him.

Hopefully they would take better care with the other members of Spidey's rogues gallery. He would be their first target if they escaped.

"Doctor Octopus again? He always seems to break out of prison." noted Honeybee. Maybe they needed to fortify it a bit more. After all, were there not supervillains in that prison?

Perhaps they were not aware that if Doctor Octopus was separated from his metal tentacles, they could return to him. So they should keep an eye on those metal tentacles, not just the Doctor.

"Well, he is a brilliant man. I'll give him that." noted Spider-Man. Too bad that his genius had been twisted by evil. Imagine all the good things that he could do if he were right in the head. At least he hadn't transformed into a monster like the Lizard.

It was lucky he was so smart too or he wouldn't be able to win against him.

"I remember the Master Planner. Wasn't he Doctor Octopus?" asked Spider-Man.

It had been a long time ago. But he still remembered the name.

Being who he was, he had put an end to his crime spree.

He remembered being trapped under machinery…and it taking forever to get it off him. It was times like this when he had wished he was the Incredible Hulk. Spidey sense had its perks, though.

Luckily, he managed to save Aunt May in time. Though it was ironic that Doctor Octopus just so happened to have taken the serum that Spidey needed to save May's life. What were the chances of that?

Well, Spider-Man did consider himself unlucky at times. And there were moments where he didn't want to be a hero. But he was always reminded of his uncle Ben.

Unbeknownst to the two heroes, the Master Planner wasn't Doctor Octopus this time…as the notes in the beginning explained.

This time it was a different mad scientist.

It was Professor Squid.

He had set up shop in an ominous abandoned factory.

"What do you need all these chemicals for, boss?" asked one of the minions.

"Do not question me! Just keep on collecting the chemicals! You shall find out in due time!" answered Professor Squid. He felt like he didn't need to explain himself to his minions…yet.

In case you were wondering what he was planning to do with the chemicals, he was trying to cure his condition.

Ironically enough, he had heard of other people like him. Such as Curt Connors, for one.

Apparently, he transformed into a lizard.

He also heard there was someone known as The Bear.

People really needed to be more careful with their science experiments.

They had his sympathies. Perhaps there were people who were even less fortunate than he was. Perhaps he could work with them to find cures to his condition. And maybe find cures for theirs.

Suddenly, one of Professor Squid's minions approached him.

"Someone's here to see you!" exclaimed a minion.

"Don't tell me it's Honeybee." answered the professor. There was some bad blood between those two. It wouldn't surprise him if she decided to thwart his plans.

Did she know who the Master Planner was?

"So, you're the one who took my identity…" said Doctor Octopus. To be honest, he didn't recall committing identify theft. Though he definitely had a lot of charges on his criminal record.

"I thought you had stopped using it!" exclaimed Professor Squid. He didn't mean to offend him. He had heard stories about Doctor Octopus. He didn't seem like the type of man that he should mess with.

Personally he thought the name Doctor Octopus sounded better than the Master Planner. Why had the Doctor decided to change it?

"Now that I think of it, that doesn't seem to be the only thing you took from me." noted the mad scientist with metal tentacles.

He had noticed that Professor Squid himself had a pair of tentacles.

"Can't you come up with your own supervillain theme?" questioned Otto. He didn't think it was that hard to do. Psychotic had her psychic powers, for one. She was like an evil Marvel Girl. Though to his knowledge, she wasn't a mutant.

"My name's Professor Squid, not Octopus! Different cephalopod!" explained Professor Squid. Squids were smaller, for one.

"I see." answered Doctor Octopus.

"I can drop the alter ego if you want. I was going to reveal my true identity to my nemesis, anyways." explained the evil professor. Perhaps she wouldn't be too surprised to figure out who it is.

"Is it Spider-Man?" asked Otto. He had gained enough enemies that he was able to create the Sinister Six. Where was the rest of the six, anyways?

"No. It's Honeybee." explained Professor Squid.

"Honeybee?" questioned Doctor Octopus.

"Yeah. Where is bug spray when I need it?" questioned the professor. It seemed like the best way to fight his nemesis.

Doctor Octopus shrugged. That would be useful for taking on Spider-Man as well. But J. Jonah Jameson had been buying it in bulk, so it was becoming scarce. It would be his present for him if he ever stepped into his office.

"She's the reason why I have these! Now I'm a freak!" exclaimed the scientist who was part squid. Perhaps this was how the X-Men felt.

"Why are you complaining? Personally I think my metal tentacles are the best thing that ever happened to me." questioned Doc Ock. There were a lot of things that you could do with metal tentacles. That was the idea he had in mind when he designed them.

Though to be honest, he didn't remember much before he got those tentacles.

"What?" asked the professor.

"You'd be surprised what four metal tentacles can do!" exclaimed Doctor Octopus. They served him well whenever he fought Spider-Man, for one.

"I never thought of it that way." noted Edward.

Perhaps having two tentacles could be awesome.

After all, Honeybee didn't seem to consider her powers to be a curse.

"But if I don't cure myself, what am I going to do with all these chemicals?" asked Professor Squid. He hoped that what he had been doing hadn't been a waste of time. He wasn't the type of person to break the law for no reason.

There were people like the Lizard and the Bear that could probably use them.

"Did you know that you have enough chemicals to make a powerful pesticide?" questioned Doctor Octopus.

"I do? That's very ironic." answered the professor.

Now that he thought of it, that seemed like a good way to fight Honeybee.

Why hadn't he thought of that before?

"Perhaps we can lure her here." noted Professor Squid. Maybe he could use honey?

As it turned out, Honeybee was working with Spider-Man to find the Master Planner's hideout.

Spider-Man had his spider tracker, Honeybee her bees.

Spider-Man managed to find it first.

The cameras witnessed Spidey coming in.

"Spider-Man? I was expecting Honeybee." questioned the professor.

"Personally I was hoping he would show up." noted Doctor Octopus.

"Perhaps we could ambush him." suggested Squid. They could attack when he least expected it.

Currently, he was fighting the Master Planner's minions.

"He's never surprised." pointed out the doctor.

"I'll get the gas then." said the professor.

Spider-Man entered a room where his tentacled nemesis was waiting for him.

"We meet again, Spider-Man!" exclaimed Doctor Octopus.

"I wonder how many times we've met." noted Spider-Man. Were they destined to battle until the end of time?

"Well, I'll do my best to make sure it's the last!" exclaimed Otto.

The two of them fought.

But unbeknownst to Spider-Man, Professor Squid was gradually pouring pesticide into the room.

"Why does it smell so funny in here?" asked Spider-Man.

Normally, Spider-Man's spider sense would indeed protect him from the gas, as it would warn him of a gas leak.

But Professor Squid had filled the room gradually enough that it hadn't gone off.

Spider-Man collapsed on the floor.

"We have him!" exclaimed Doctor Octopus.

"This villain teamup was flawless!" shouted Professor Squid.

"It went a lot better than when I created the Sinister Six, that's for sure!" remarked the doctor. Why couldn't they all put aside their differences? They would stand a better chance that way.

It was funny how they had managed to defeat Spider-Man with just the two of them. But life was full of surprises.

"I'll let you do the honors!" exclaimed the professor. Spider-Man was Doctor Octopus's nemesis, after all.

"It's time to squash this spider…for good!" shouted Doctor Octopus. If you asked him, he was doing a favor for supervillains everywhere.

At that very moment, Honeybee came in.

"Honeybee?" questioned Professor Squid.

It looked like she had managed to find his hideout as well.

She had followed Spider-Man inside.

Honeybee realized what had happened to Spider-Man.

He was down for the count, alright.

"Oh no! Spider-Man!" exclaimed Honeybee.

No doubt his friends would be unhappy if Peter disappeared. Even Flash Thompson might miss him.

Though if J. Jonah Jameson realized who Peter was, he would be fired on the spot. So Honeybee decided it would be best if she didn't tell J. Jonah Jameson that.

Since the world needed Peter Parker, she decided it would be best to rescue him.

Besides, it would be easier to defend New York City if there were two superheroes defending it. And she didn't know if she would make it if someone decided to form their own Sinister Six.

Honeybee quickly carried Spider-Man to safety.

"We were so close!" shouted Doctor Octopus. For a moment he thought he would be rid of his nemesis.

Who would be his nemesis after that, anyways? Captain America? Perhaps he already had his hands full with the Red Skull.

"Not you again, Honeybee!" exclaimed Professor Squid. Hadn't she caused him enough trouble? Now she was interfering with their superhero assassination.

"So this is your nemesis." noted Doctor Octopus.

He wondered if she had super strength like Spider-Man did.

Theoretically, she had all the powers of a bee. Was there going to be a cricket superheroine next? It seemed like anything was possible when it came to Marvel comics.

Honeybee used her honey to heal Spider-Man.

"What happened?" asked Spider-Man.

"You inhaled a pesticide." explained Honeybee.

"That's one of my nemeses." noted Peter.

The two of them fought their opponents, but it wasn't going well for the supervillains.

After all, Spider-Man was used to fighting Doctor Octopus. And Honeybee could rip Professor Squid's tentacles off.

Not to mention Spidey's spider-sense protected him from the four tentacles.

"We're losing!" exclaimed Professor Squid.

"Perhaps it's time for an opponent switch." suggested Doctor Octopus. That seemed like a good way to put the two off-guard.

"For a doctor you don't seem to be obeying the Hippocratic oath." remarked Honeybee.

"Very funny." answered Doctor Octopus.

"I guess Spidey's humor is starting to rub off on me." noted the heroine. She did spend a fair amount of time around him, after all.

"Perhaps it is." nodded the doctor.

Honeybee grabbed one of Otto's tentacles and twisted it.

Doctor Octopus gasped.

It seemed Honeybee was very strong indeed.

Fighting her was different than fighting Spider-Man.

Likewise, Professor Squid blinded Spider-Man with his squid ink.

But Spider-Man's spider sense allowed him to continue fighting.

"How are you doing that?" asked the professor.

"You'd be surprised what a radioactive spider can do." said Spider-Man.

Spider-Man punched Professor Squid and knocked him out cold.

"We won!" exclaimed Honeybee.

"Thank goodness those two are behind bars." noted Spider-Man. That was two less criminals that were on the streets.

Of course, they would probably escape again. They were geniuses after all. Who knows what escape plan they would come up with?

Granted, Honeybee had broken Doctor Octopus's tentacles…but it seemed plausible that he could repair them.

After all, Professor Squid could regenerate his tentacles.

Time would tell if they saw those two again.

it's the return of Professor Squid! I figured I would feature him again. Though I do plan on making more villains. After all, Marvel has a ton of villains. You wouldn't be able to name their all. If you can, I give you a round of applause.

I figured that I would have Doctor Octopus and Professor Squid meet since I based the professor off of Doctor Octopus.

I imagined that Spider-Man and Honeybee could work together on occasion. Of course, they already have, but this time the partnership is longer than usual.

I decided that having Doctor Octopus and Professor Squid interact would be fun.
