Opening File: Genki Sanban

Genki Sanban also known as the Demon Blade of the East, is a Class V Huntress from Japan who is also the head of Sanban Industries. Born in Tokyo, Japan, Genki grew up with a modest family, many of them being simple accountants. When she was a toddler, she spotted a neighborhood boy practicing with a bokken in the backyard of his home and was so inspired she grabbed a spoon, trying to mimic his swings much to the amazement and amusement of her family. This would continue for her early life, getting a set of wooden bokkens and honing her growing skills through her childhood and into her teenage years, unlocking her Aura and gaining her Semblance.

She would later apply to Yamanouchi Academy since it uses what is known as an 'Escalator' system. This means that rather than being a school for one certain level of education, it instead houses all grades from 1st-University separated by Elementary, Junior High, Senior High, and College divisions. With the exception of transferees, this means that there is no need for the traditional Entrance Exams so long as students maintain a respectful grade average. The team she was on and the missions they undertook has remained confidential to public record, but it is known that she took a secret mission with Drew Saturday, though this was before she married Solomon Saturday, locating a secret meadow with a strange large, greenish-blue light source with a tall, black-clad man standing before it.

Genki would challenge the man to a battle and would be swiftly defeated, saved only by the interference of Drew. Genki had a notable trait for arrogance but had been humbled upon her defeat by the man and Drew saving her. Since then, Genki would return to the man several times a year, requesting to spar with him in order to improve her skills which he accepted. Though Genki never defeated him, she improved herself with every fight and their spars would last from one to several hours.

However, during those years, Genki would meet Kani Sanban, the head of a newly built Dust trading company known as Sanban Industries and would later be engaged to him as she revealed during her last spar with the man. Hailed as the Demon Sword of the East for her unparalleled mastery of swordsmanship, Genki gathered Huntsmen and Huntresses to aid her in fending off attacks from the Grimm while Kani sought out the best and brightest to transform a simple Dust trading company into one of the most highly influential companies in the world. Soon enough Kani and Genki were married and their first daughter, Kuki Sanban was born not so long after. Upon the birth of her first daughter, Genki would have to put aside her Huntress duties for the time being to raise her daughter, Kuki but would work to maintain her skills.

The company has thrived through the years, coming into business deals and partnerships with other companies like Fulbright Corporation and DexLabs. It was also around the time that Kani entered the realm of politics, leaving his wife to manage most of Sanban Industries and surprisingly became Prime Minister of Japan. This action quickly alleviated the Sanban Clan's reputation up to being the highest level of influence in Japan. In addition to these achievements both Kani and his wife became aware of special secrets regarding the threat of the Grimm, including the existence of the Fallen that are known only to a few and considered a myth by everyone else.

The reputation of the Fallen is infamous in Japan, especially the one known as Sammael who is believed to have been born around the time of the Emperor and even was responsible for the loss of the Emperor's sword, the rumored magical sword that awakened the Emperor's power of Aura and led to the creation of the first generation of Huntsmen. It is because of this rumor that the Fallen are considered a great enemy to the entire world to those who know of them.

Opening File: Kani Sanban(Updated)

Kani Sanban is the prime minister of Japan as well as the husband of Genki Sanban, and the proud father of Kuki Sanban and Mushi Sanban. Born and raised in the small town of Ishimura Kani Sanban worked from the ground up in the Dust trade community but was met with not only competition from other companies in other countries but also from various criminals seeking to steal Dust often from ships on trading routes and Grimm attacks. It was at this time he met his future wife, Genki who was one of Japan's rising Huntresses. Hailed as the Demon Sword of the East for her unparalleled mastery of swordsmanship, Genki gathered Huntsmen and Huntresses to aid her in fending off these attacks while Kani sought out the best and brightest to transform a simple Dust trading company into one of the most highly influential companies in the world.

Soon enough Kani and Genki were married and their first daughter, Kuki Sanban was born not so long after. Despite his official history being one of a business man before becoming a politician there have been rumors that Kani Sanban had spent time learning the art of Bushido and basic combat in the Ishimura Temple where a clan of Gargoyles have resided since ancient times. He was rumored to an acquaintance of Taro who attempted to exploit the Gargoyles by moving them into an amusement park. The gargoyles rebelled against Taro, defeating him, and with the help of Elisa Maza and the town's constable, Taro ended up dangling from a gigantic animatronic gargoyle in the theme park and was embarrassed in front of a crowd of reporters, looking like a fool.

Kani Sanban has denied ever knowing Taro, possibly disavowing any form of communication they ever had and left the temple with the intention of being a better man than Taro ever was. There have been times when Kani Sanban took extended trips to America as his business grew but later settled in Tokyo with his wife just as their first daughter was born. It was later discovered that at some point in his life, Kani donned the helmet of Japan's most famous Huntsman and Hero: SAM-R-I.

Opening File: Vlad Masters

Vlad Masters, also known as Vlad Lazuli and formerly Vlad Plasmius is a former human Ghost hybrid known as a Halfa from Dimension N-004 who gained the abilities of a ghost after an accident in his youth in university. Vlad attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison alongside his best friend Jack Fenton and love interest Maddie. Vlad's friendship with Jack ended when a prototype ghost portal they had built overloaded and blasted Vlad in the face with ectoplasmic energy. Vlad was hospitalized with ecto-acne for years, which ruined his social life, his spirit, and his chances of winning Maddie. However, this accident also infused his DNA with ectoplasm, causing him to become a half-ghost and giving him ghostly powers.

After he recovered, he spent the next bitter 20 years honing and taking advantage of his newfound powers, and using them for his own personal gain in order to become rich and famous, all with the hope of eventually getting Maddie back. He possessed wealthy business tycoons to make them hand their companies over to him, took part in invisible insider stock market trading, and committed many invisible burglaries in order to amass his vast fortune. He founded and formerly owned Vladco (which would buy out Axion Labs later on) and has been featured in a number of magazines (Fortunate Magazine named him "Man of the Year" in 1997).

Despite the fact that Vlad would not meet Danny until much later he reveals to Danny that he had sent the ectopuses, one Danny's first ghost enemies to test Jack. Also Vlad sent three of his ghost vulture henchmen to kill Jack, only to be thwarted by Danny after discovering their plan, but not their motive. Despite their failure, Vlad invites the Fentons to a college reunion at his mansion in Wisconsin. However, it was really just part of a plot to humiliate Jack and to get his wife Maddie, the woman of his dreams, to leave him.

Danny (as well as his sister Jazz) are dragged along, and the boy immediately has decidedly mixed feelings about the well-off man. That night, Danny's ghost sense alerts him to the presence of a ghost who introduces himself as "Vlad Plasmius." They end up fighting, but Danny is easily outmatched by the stronger, more powerful ghost. Vlad knocks him unconscious, and he unwillingly transforms back to Danny Fenton in front of him, making Vlad realize that his soon-to-be arch rival is Jack's son. He remained tight-lipped about the fact until the day of the actual reunion.

On the night of the reunion, Vlad casually asks Danny to go down to the lab to get a present for Jack, but when Danny does so, Skulker captures him with the spectral energy neutralizer. Vlad entered and revealed to Danny who he was, ultimately offering Danny the chance to join up with him and help him further train and hone his powers in exchange for renouncing his father. Danny angrily declined, leaving Vlad to put the next phase of his plan into action. He possessed Jack, makes him cause chaos during the reunion to ruin his reputation, then captured Maddie Fenton. Danny (eventually freed by the Dairy King) uses the Fenton RV to stop him. Danny ironically blackmailed Vlad by threatening to expose the both of them to his parents unless they call a truce, to which Vlad agreed, though he vowed to return.

Unknown to Danny, Vlad gave Valerie Gray ghost-hunting equipment in order to cause trouble for Danny while getting access to Danny's DNA for a secret project. Vlad appears later as the mysterious provider of Valerie's infamous ghost hunting suit and weapons, although she was unaware of his true intentions behind it. Vlad made a full return when he staged a plan that involved the inconspicuous "DALV" group ("Vlad" backwards) inviting Maddie and Danny to a mother/son science convention in Florida. When Maddie took a reluctant Danny along in an attempt to bond with him, the two are both tricked into parachuting out of their plane, conveniently finding themselves at Vlad's Rocky Mountain retreat.

There, Vlad attempts to convince them both to stay with him by confessing his undying love for Maddie. They refuse and storm off into the woods. Vlad attempted to chase them both back by means of sending his mutated ghost animals after them - the bodies of which can be seen mounted in his hunting-lodge style living room. While Maddie was sleeping in her tent, Danny is captured and confronted by Vlad, who shorts out Danny's powers for a set period of time with a device he invented, the Plasmius Maximus, and leaves him at the mercy of his ghost animals. However, Danny was saved by his mother and, with little choice, is forced to return to Vlad's home to find a means to get back to Amity Park.

Maddie used her charm on Vlad to find a phone, which made Danny sick. She went off to make the call while Danny, left alone with Vlad, falsely declared him as his 'new dad' to let his guard down. Successfully tricking Vlad by setting back his clock to make him think the Plasmius Maximus hadn't yet worn off (when in fact, it had), he wrapped the Specter Deflector around Vlad, which weakens him considerably for a fairer fight. Danny ultimately defeated Vlad by convincing the ghosts of the animals that Vlad had killed to turn against him, as well as disabling his powers with the Plasmius Maximus.

Vlad's next plan had him traveling into the Ghost Zone in search of the Skeleton Key, an item that enabled him to open 'any door, travel to any realm, and free any prisoner.' When Behemoth, the guardian of the key, appeared, Vlad easily overpowered him, but this was only an initial success and Vlad was soon defeated as Behemoth threw him out of the Ghost Zone back through his portal, and back into his manor without the key. However, he realizes that he had forgotten to change the "Ecto-Filtrator" on his ghost portal, and it exploded, destroying his castle mansion. Due to this, Vlad plans to steal the Fentons' ghost portal.

Needing to distract Danny so he could have the time to dismantle it, he offered a million-dollar bounty on the ghost boy to distract him. Ghost hunters from all over gathered to capture him, which didn't bother Danny due to the incompetence of most of them. However, when Danny spotted the ghost vultures making off with Sam and Tucker, he raced after them, only to be brutally beaten by Plasmius, who appears and reveals his intention to humiliate Jack as well, before leaving. Danny felt pity for his father and his ineptitude, so he allowed himself to be caught to boost his terrible reputation as a ghost hunter.

But when Jack left to claim his reward, the two were both captured by Vlad who then proceeded to steal their ghost portal. Working together, Jack and Danny escaped and headed for the Portal, where Vlad brutally insulted Jack. In a moment of rarity, Jack successfully uses the ghost gauntlets to beat Vlad and throws him into the Ghost Zone. A humiliated Vlad soon turned gleeful when he obtains the Key shortly afterwards.

The Skeleton Key was put to use later when Vlad winded up releasing the ghost king Pariah Dark when he tries to steal the king's treasures: the 'Crown of Fire' and the 'Ring of Rage.' To combat the king, Vlad and Danny called a temporary truce and fight off Pariah's forces. Vlad also revealed to Valerie that he was the one who gave her the equipment to fight ghosts. Vlad ultimately locked Pariah Dark back into his sarcophagus prison just as Danny, armed with the Ecto-Skeleton, passes out from the exertion of using it to force Pariah back inside of it.

Taking advantage of the situation, Vlad stole the Ecto-Skeleton and claimed to Maddie and Jack that he rescued Danny to worm his way back into their good graces. In an alternate future, Danny, orphaned upon the death of his family and friends, moved in with Vlad, seeing as he was 'the only person left on the planet who could possibly hope to understand his situation." Vlad took him in with open arms and honored his wishes when a seriously depressed and desperate Danny begged Vlad to remove his ghost half from him, claiming that the memory of it caused him too much pain. During the process, Danny's ghost half became enraged, and turned on Vlad, tearing Vlad's ghost half away from his human half and inadvertently merging him with it as he went to attack the other ghost.

With evil having completely consumed him, Danny/Vlad's ghost then proceeded to kill the human Danny, destroy Vlad's mansion, and began a 10 year-long rampage of world destruction while the human Vlad just barely escaped. When the present-day Danny, trapped in the future due to the future evil Dan fusing a Clockwork medallion within him, arrived in what's left of Vlad's mansion, he found Vlad, now reduced to a miserable old hermit. The only good that came out of this, he said, is that ten years without ghost powers had given him time to realize what a fool he'd been. In a rare moment for both characters, Vlad shows repentance for his misdeeds while Danny, in a way, forgave him.

Vlad ultimately played a part in returning present-day Danny back to the past to correct his mistake by removing the time medallion from within him. Vlad's next big plan had him hiring Skulker to steal various materials to improve the stolen Ecto-Skeleton's power. When Danny's sister, Jazz, arrived with the intent to move in with him, because her father's 'an idiot,' Vlad wasted no time in convincing Jack and Maddie to let her stay a while. However, he doesn't realize that Jazz's true motive was to investigate him and his possible connection to Skulker's thefts in secret.

Vlad started getting suspicious when Jazz was found sneaking around in his lab and ordered Jazz to prove her loyalty by putting her in the ecto-skeleton and ordering her to destroy her brother, unless she wanted to get destroyed herself. Danny and Jazz, however, got the last laugh by outsmarting Vlad by means of staging a mock battle, escaping while he's confused, and setting the Ecto-Skeleton to self-destruct. At one point, Vlad came down with another outbreak of lethal ecto-acne. Infecting Sam and Tucker with the same disease, he blackmailed Danny into helping him.

Taking a different route, Danny convinced Clockwork to send him to the past to save Vlad from getting hit by the Porto-Portal blast, this change of events ensuring a future without Vlad Plasmius. However, due to Danny's interference with the past, Jack accidentally got caught in the blast and Jack becomes infected with the ecto-acne and ultimately becomes an angry, bitter "Jack Plasmius." In this 'alternate present,' Vlad is married to Maddie, has become the new Wisconsin Dairy King, and supposedly lives as a simple dairy farmer. Just like in the original present, though, he is still a very controlling individual, as he forbids his wife Maddie from continuing her ghost research.

He also lied to her by telling her that Jack had blamed her for the accident and never wanted to see her again. Danny tells her the truth in that it wasn't true, and that Jack still loves her, making her enraged that Vlad had lied to her. When Vlad eventually discovered Maddie's secret basement lab, he was shocked to see Jack still alive and thoroughly in love with Maddie. He blasted at him out of jealousy, possibly killing him.

Angry, Maddie quickly threw him into the Ghost Zone. Danny returned to Clockwork's lair afterwards where he changed the past back to the way it originally was. Gaining knowledge of a cure from the past, Danny told his parents, who were able to cure Vlad, Tucker, and Sam afterwards. Vlad eventually took drastic and desperate measures when he tried to create a clone of Danny (getting various samples of Danny's DNA secretly from their battles, in addition to his battles with Valerie). He managed to spawn a few imperfect versions (due to the lack of a mid-morph sample from Danny), including Dani Phantom, a slightly younger, female version of Danny.

He eventually used her to help to capture Danny himself. However, Danielle betrays Vlad after seeing who her 'father' truly was, a man who didn't care at all about her and saw her as nothing more than a tool. Siding with her 'cousin' Danny, the two attack Vlad, causing him to actually collide with the main, 'primary' clone, destroying him. Gravely upset over the loss of his most stable creation, Vlad was seconds away from killing Danielle if not for Danny's ghostly wail, Sam and Tucker's timely rescue, and Danielle's own insertion. After a series of pranks between Vlad and Danny, the former ran for mayor of Amity Park, winning by overshadowing the voters and making them choose him.

He then made life miserable for Danny by banning technology and Danny Phantom, installing school uniforms, and tearing down the Nasty Burger to make way for a new restaurant, "McMasters," from which teenagers are banned. Danny eventually apologized for his pranks, but Vlad refused to stop ruining his life, leading Danny to try and announce to the public that Masters and Plasmius are the same. This failed when a Plasmius double appears in front of Danny, the public, and a human Vlad Masters. While the duplicate and Danny fight, Vlad, trying to make himself look good in public, attempted to kill his Plasmius double until Danny overshadows it and flew him to Vlad's limo just as the mayor opens fire.

Pulled from the wreckage was an injured Danny Fenton, and an angry public blamed Vlad for hurting an innocent child. As a result, he goes into damage-control mode and turns everything back to normal, his battle with Danny far from over. Vlad later stole the famed 'Infi-Map' from Danny and his friends, who had gotten the map earlier from Frostbite. This powerful ghostly map could take the user to any part of the Ghost Zone that they want to go to instantly, and Vlad feels that he can use it to take over the realm.

Danny and his friends get involved in a wild goose chase through various portals opening all over the world and throughout various time periods to bring the map back. They eventually succeeded when the map led Vlad to the realm of the 'Far Frozen,' where Frostbite, along with his people, froze him. It was also revealed that Vlad owned a cat fittingly named Maddie, a suggestion Danny made earlier to spite his loneliness.

To further his appeal as mayor, Vlad disguised a barometer that controls the weather ghost Vortex as his 'rain machine' to bring rain upon Amity Park's recent drought. The plan later backfired when Vortex rebelled and the barometer broke, causing him to go on a rampage on Earth and accidentally transfer his own set of weather powers to Danny, which are triggered by his emotions. Vlad tried to keep Danny calm and pleased at all times so that it remains sunny, while Sam and Tucker scope Vortex out and bring him back to Amity Park, where he is defeated by Danny. Vlad blamed the whole mess on Danny Phantom in public.

Vlad later noticed when the Fentons had temporarily moved next door to him when they briefly became extremely wealthy and was one of the ghostly villain Nocturn's sleeping victims. Upon Danielle's return, Vlad hired Valerie to capture her for him. With her under his possession once again, he planned to dissolve her entire body to study her remains in order to create a better, more functional clone. Danny, managing to gain help from a hesitant Valerie, stopped him in time, saved Dani's life and warned Vlad to leave her be.

Planning to destroy Danny Phantom once and for all, Vlad hired a new team of ghost hunters, the 'Masters' Blasters,' to replace and humiliate Danny, in what he hopes will cause the boy to stop his ghost hunting once and for all. When an asteroid got knocked towards Earth by Vlad's satellite from an accidental explosion, he revealed his dual identity to the world and promises to stop the asteroid from destroying Earth by making the asteroid intangible, in exchange for over 500-billion dollars and complete control over the entire world. However, he later found out that the asteroid was composed of an anti-ghost element called Ecto-ranium, making it so all ghosts, including him, couldn't touch it, and therefore could not make it intangible. Unable to save the planet and return home, due to the fact that he would be forever hunted now that he had revealed his secret identity and threatened the whole planet, realizing that now more than ever he needed Jack's help, Vlad begged him to let him aboard the Fenton Rocket, but now knowing of Vlad's true nature and irrevocably seeing that the Vlad Masters he knew is gone, Jack shunned his former friend by abandoning Vlad in space, dooming him to eternally roam the universe alone, due to him not having the desire to see the planet's destruction at the hand of his actions, Vlad guiltily saw the Earth one last time before flying away showing that deep down he did have a heart.

But it was too little, too late. His action had forever earned him eternal hatred from the world. After the Earth is saved by Danny, Vlad was sitting alone on a small asteroid, finally coming to terms with his eternal solitude as a 'free-roaming space nomad' before being struck by the Disasteroid, after which his fate remains unknown to the rest of Earth…in this dimension. Vlad was one of the first few offworlders to be abducted in Van Kleiss in his bid to create an army of advanced EVOs in the dimension GF-007 alongside fellow antagonistic ghost Skulker but later escaped following an incident in Van Kleiss' lab. Since then, Vald wandered this new world, unsure what he should do and was left bitter about how he was left alone while the people he hated had everything he ever wanted.

He then encountered the Gem fusion Malachite and fused with it, opting to take control of this Earth using Malachite's control over water. However, the minds of both Jasper and Lapis Lazuli rebelled against him, trapping him in the fusion that created Malachite Plasmius. The fusion was then captured and held in the Darklands by Sammael for a brief period of time, before Sammael set it loose in GrimmFall against the Justice Friends. However, Earth's greatest heroes proved to be strong enough to stop it and the monster was defused but not before a deal was made with Bill Cipher with Vlad becoming a Gem, Jasper gaining Vlad's ghost powers and Lapis becoming human, gaining Vlad's human half.

Now Vlad Lazuli, he briefly experimented with these powers before fleeing Earth and finding the secret Gem base on the moon and was captured by the secret colony of Moonlanders led by General Lunaris and ruled by the moon demon Tso Lan. He spent a great deal of time among them, convincing Tso Lan of his use before the defeat of Bill Cipher returned to him being the half-human, half-ghost villain Vlad Plasmius.

Opening File: Ghosts

Ghosts are spiritual beings from an alternate dimension known as the Ghost Zone. Many ghosts introduced in the first season appear to be the disembodied spirits of dead humans or other Earth creatures. Maddie Fenton once defined them as an 'odd manifestation of ectoplasmic energy and post-human consciousness.' This was supported by several ghosts' backstories, such as Desiree and Sidney Poindexter, which detail their lives as humans before becoming ghosts.

However, there are ghosts that appear less human and more otherworldly in backstory and appearance. An explanation could be that ghosts could be divided up into two or more subspecies. With the some being genuine spirits of deceased people i.e., Sydney, Desiree, Ember etc. While other are more like forces of nature and, or abstract concepts taken physical form and were likely never human to begin with i.e., Clockwork, Undergrowth, Nocturn etc. Half-ghosts such as Danny and Vlad could possibly be seen as a third subspecies.

All ghosts possess supernatural powers such as the ability to walk through walls, disappear, and fly. Ghost bodies are unaffected by gravity, so many ghosts have some degree of superhuman strength. Many ghosts possess other powers such as possession and ghost rays. However, despite their powers all full ghosts are vulnerable to ghost weaknesses such as Anti-Ghost weapons, Ecto-ranium, and Blood Blossoms. Another weakness is while in their natural state, they cannot interact with real world objects with that example of Walker being unable to interact with Danny due to the fact that in the Ghost Zone, humans are considered 'ghosts', as they are shown capable of passively phasing through everything despite not knowing they could do so.

According to those who study this field of science, all ghosts are a physical manifestation of human emotions. Desiree fed on happiness from granting wishes. Ember McLain fed on the attention from her fans. Penelope Spectra fed on teen insecurities. Ghosts can't exist forever or they can but they'll lose whatever humanity gave them an identity.

That's why some ghosts are more human and others are less human.

Opening File: The Iluminati

The Illuminati is a mysterious secret society that manipulates the world behind the scenes. Percival founded what would eventually be known as the Illuminati Society in or around the year 642 AD, roughly a century after the 'death' of King Arthur Pendragon, in order to 'make things right'. He is still alive in modern times. Early members of the Society traveled and performed as an acting troupe, visiting Wyvern Hill in 971. According to their leader in that century, the Player King, this troupe was "heralded and acclaimed" throughout the known world as the Light-Bringers.

By 975, it had already developed its current name and its logo, a pyramid with a fiery eye at its summit (this same symbol also appears on the Great Seal of the United States, suggesting some sort of connection between the Illuminati and the Founding Fathers and unknowingly a way for Bill Cipher to spy on them). That year, a temporally displaced David Xanatos used this logo to identify himself as a member to the Norman Ambassador. Xanatos instructed the Illuminati to deliver a coin to a young David Xanatos in 1975 and a set of instructions to an older David Xanatos in 1995. Despite the thousand-year interim, the Illuminati were able to follow these orders exactly as instructed. The Illuminati's overall history is as yet veiled in shadow (not surprisingly), but it is known that in 1924, they made Mace Malone go into hiding after he became their adviser on organized crime, to protect him from the syndicates. In the 1990s, the Illuminati became aware of the gargoyles' existence through Xanatos, and began to hunt them, hoping to control them.

Their first recorded attempt came when Mace Malone persuaded Matt Bluestone to lure Goliath to the Hotel Cabal; Matt helped Goliath escape and Malone became trapped in the hotel himself, but the Illuminati were apparently satisfied, enough so that they inducted Matt into the Society anyway. After the gargoyles were revealed to the public, the Illuminati entered into a partnership of sorts with Jon Canmore, helping him to set up the Quarrymen (which was already in the works) under the alias of "John Castaway" and providing him with the necessary funding, for their own as-yet-unknown purposes. [5] The fact that Thailog is a member of the Illuminati indicates that the Society has no intention of wiping out the gargoyles – though they let Castaway believe this to be their goal. The Illuminati also claimed to support Matt Bluestone's use of the Gargoyle Taskforce to protect the gargoyles, and Xanatos's plan to introduce the gargoyles to 'polite society'.

The Manhattan Clan are not the only people in the Gargoyles Universe who are due for clashes with the Illuminati. King Arthur and Griff will have a number of encounters with them during their quest for Merlin, and the Director set up the Redemption Squad in part as a means of battling the Society. One of the Squad's first missions was to strike the Eastcheap, though all that they succeeded in doing was capturing Mistress Quickly, one of Falstaff's henchmen; Falstaff and the Eastcheap got away. ("Losers")

Despite a lower-echelon member, Xanatos has yet to disclose to the Society that Owen Burnett is the trickster Puck, or his son's magical heritage.

The Illuminati will also quickly become involved when the New Olympians reveal themselves to the outside world. The Society is aware of Demona (and she, them) and may also be aware of Macbeth and the two's magical link. Although the gargoyles, King Arthur, and the Redemption Squad will all cause the Society a number of setbacks, it will not be destroyed or broken up – at least, not in the present.

In 2198, when the Space-Spawn invade and conquer Earth, the Illuminati decide to throw their lot in with the invaders. They form a secret pact with the alien occupiers, agreeing to undermine any attempts by the conquered Earthlings to overthrow the Space-Spawn in return for the release of those of the abducted world leaders who were secretly Illuminati. It is unknown as yet as to whether Peredur is still the leader of the Illuminati at this point, when they advance from mere manipulators to quislings.

The Illuminati is aware of Brooklyn's TimeDancing to a degree, but how and when the Society learns of his time traveling remains unspecified.

Opening File: Ninja Tribunal

During the early fourth century, the people who would become the Ninja Tribunal, as well as a human Oroku Saki, were Japan's five greatest warriors. They were among the first warriors in Japan to have their Aura awakened after the Emperor of Japan and rose to fame after they, under the order of the Emperor, slew a feared tengu called The Shredder. In honor of this victory, they became known as 'The Five Dragons'.

Unbeknownst to all, their victory was not total. Oroku Saki, who had seemingly landed the killing blow to the Tengu, had secretly struck a deal with the demon. In exchange for power, Saki allowed the Tengu's spirit to depart its body and to enter the human's, allowing the Shredder to live on; the demon Saki had slain was but an empty husk. Now imbued with the Tengu's power, Saki began a reign of terror throughout Japan, aided by an army of demons and Grimm.

It is speculated that during that time, Saki had met with the Fallen Sammael but as of yet there is no evidence that they had ever crossed paths.

The four remaining Dragons, although powerful, realized that they would never defeat their former comrade in their current state. In order to increase their strength, they travelled around the world in order to acquire the knowledge and power to defeat Saki. Once successful, they transcended humanity, becoming immortal 'forces of nature themselves' as described by the Ancient One. It is speculated that they reached a form of Ascension that was known to create the greatest of warriors, beings that were the natural enemies of the Fallen.

With their physical and mystical power vastly increased, the four heroes engaged Oroku Saki in battle in order to bring an end to his tyranny. After finally defeating Saki in their dragon avatars, the four warriors knew that the Shredder could not be destroyed - his evil magic was too great. So, they imprisoned Saki in a coffin, and hid the three artifacts; his helmet, gauntlet and body. If the three artifacts were to be united, the Shredder would rise again.

They have since kept constant vigil over the artifacts, recruiting acolytes (the Ancient One among them) and imparting their secrets to them, secrets that eventually came to be known as Ninjutsu. The Tribunal has kept a close watch on Japan for any sign of the Shredder arising from his imprisonment, choosing not to involve themselves against the Grimm or the Fallen despite the threat they represent. They seek out apprentices with potential and training them in secret. It is perhaps because they recognize the threat of the Fallen but leave defeating them in the hands of other heroes and warriors.

The members of the Ninja Tribunal are among the most powerful beings on Earth. Their knowledge of the mystic arts allows them to perform tasks normally beyond the means of other ninjutsu practitioners, such as manipulation of forces like the weather and energy; greatly enhanced speed and strength; and they can project energy to the point where they could summon powerful blasts capable of blowing up multiple cities and mountains. They can also manifest their astral selves into dragon avatars. It appears their knowledge on the mystic arts also gives them the ability to run at super speeds, use telekinesis, attack on the mental plane, and they even have the strange ability to warp reality.

The Ninja Tribunal resides in the Lap of the Gods, a monastery mystically hidden in Japan. In addition to their powers, they command the Mokusai no Bushi, a group of mystical warriors made out of wood. They also make use of the Ninja Tribunal ship, a sailing ship which is also capable of flight, in which to travel.

Opening File: John Bishop

Agent John Bishop is a special agent of the U.S. government, head of the Earth Protection Force and is the leader of the Illuminati. He works to protect the Earth from alien invasion but at the same time also works to defeat the Grimm and the Fallen, seeing them as the greatest threats to mankind. He has close ties to the Grey Agency but prefers to remain independent from them to pursue his own interests. He is mindful of the various powers across the Earth and works behind the scenes to ensure nothing can threaten him or the safety of the Earth's people.

A U.S. soldier during the early 19th century in the year 1815, John Bishop's life was changed forever when, for unknown reasons, he was abducted by gray aliens while fighting in the Battle of New Orleans. After being experimented on, he escapes back/is returned to (the series is unclear on this point, leaving both possibilities open) the battlefield. What exactly the experiments entailed is unknown, although it is speculated that they are at least partly responsible for Bishop's longevity and enhanced strength. The abduction traumatized Bishop and led him to develop a long-lasting paranoia against aliens.

Marked by the experience, he has since dedicated his life to staving off alien invasion. Little is known about the following one hundred and ninety years of Bishop's life, except that he was present when the U.S. Army encountered the first aliens who crashed in United States territory and the subsequent creation of the black-ops Earth Protection Force during the Grant administration in 1870. He was also responsible for the Roswell incident of 1947, in reality caused by a covert takedown of a flying saucer belonging to gray aliens. (These could be the same gray aliens who experimented on Bishop, since the surviving alien they dragged out seems to recognize him.)

In more recent decades, he acted as Best Man to J. Finn, a Navy sailor who later on was turned into a mutant under unknown circumstances.

"Help me. Do something."

She didn't understand what was happening. She could hear this voice and saw this boy who looked so much like her, struggling.

"Oh I am." She held up her hands.

Only she fired at him instead of who he was fighting.

The boy collapsed onto the ground, barely managing to lift his head. "I-I don't understand."

"Did I do good daddy?" She floated down next to what could only be described as a vampire.

"You did excellent, child. I could not wish for a better daughter." The vampire laughed maniacally.

So many voice whispered around her.

"Am I an imperfection? A mistake?"

"He's using you! You're nothing but a mess he's not gonna clean up."

"You're a liar!"

"YOU EXIST TO SERVE ME!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

"AAAHH!" Danielle let out a cry as she sat up on her bed, panting as she looked around, seeing she was in her room in the Sanban home.

She held a hand to her forehead, feeling a bit of sweat coming down and she could feel her heart pounding from the nightmare she had.

Was it just a nightmare?

"Dani?"

She looked to see the door partly open with Kuki peeking her head in with a concerned look on her face. "Oh, Kuki. Did I wake you?"

"Are you okay?" Kuki ignored Danielle's question, coming over to her bed. "You sound like you were really scared."

"I…" Danielle wiped her forehead. "It was just a bad dream. Sorry I woke you."

"You didn't wake me. It's already morning." Kuki still looked concerned. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Did she?

She wasn't sure there even anything to talk about. Just a strange series of images and people, their voices blurry except when they got loud.

And was it just a dream or was it…

"Dani?"

Danielle blinked, shaking her head. "Sorry. It was…It was only a dream." Kuki tilted her head, even as Danielle smiled as her. "Really, I'm fine, Kuki."

Kuki looked at her, staring into her eyes before she spoke back. "Okay, Dani. Here."

She held out a Rainbow Monkey, dressed as a witch doctor.

"This is dream-catcher Rainbow Monkey. It catches bad dreams, so you only have good dreams." Kuki explained with a smile.

Danielle stared at the Rainbow Monkey and sighed before she took it. "Thanks, Kuki."

"Sweet dreams, Dani." Kuki said, giving the ghost-girl a hug before leaving the room.

Danielle looked at the Rainbow Monkey, letting out a sigh but smiled all the same. "Yeah, sweet dreams."

Once Danielle got out of bed, she cleaned and dressed and then came out to greet the other Sanbans who were already gathering for breakfast.

Except one.

"Good morning, Dani!" Kuki and Mushi greeted happily.

"Good morning." Danielle greeted back. "Uh, where's Genki?"

"Mama had some early morning business to take care of so she left." Kuki simply said, taking a seat at the table with Danielle sitting next to her.

"Oh." Danielle simply said, knowing that Genki would be a very busy woman.

She had no idea.

"As far as we can tell Danielle seems to be no closer to regaining her memories. The trauma combined with spirit trying to remove those memories and your daughter's Semblance might have just…erased those memories for good."

Genki Sanban frowned. "I am not sure if there is anything to be pleased about despite saving a girl from her trauma at the expense of taking most of her life even if we've done our best to give her as good a life as we can."

Sensei Splinter nodded in agreement. "Yes, I agree. Still, Danielle has done greatly under your care and has been a brave young soul during times of difficulty."

Such as the Golden Castle incident, Crom Cruach crises and the Ice Queen.

In both times, Danielle had to face down dangerous beings, putting herself at risk, even though it was always for the purpose of protecting someone close to her. In Danielle's case, it was almost always the Sanbans, specifically Genki's daughters, which Genki herself had been extremely grateful to the ghost girl for.

"She was a lost soul in need of care and guidance, much like I once was." Genki faced the window. "Still, she's a sweet young child who knows nothing of greed and risks herself without a second thought.'

"You sound proud, almost as though you consider her your own child." Splinter noted. "Am I to believe you have considered…"

"I have and so has Kani." Genki answered. "The fact is, even after the battle of Nowhere, we're not close sending her home and even if we were, she has amnesia. She has managed to settle here nicely but if she were to learn her family was not only in another country but even in another universe…I do not know if her memories will ever come back and I fear burdening her too much will break her rather than help her."

"And it's not also because your daughters will be sad when they have to say goodbye to her?" Splinter asked.

"I am sure they would understand in time. Even if it is hard, it shouldn't be up to us if Danielle stays with us or returns home." Genki answered. "At the very least, I want her to be able to make a choice regardless of whether her memories come back or don't."

"I see." Splinter nodded. "The Tribunal has been monitoring Danielle as well."

"Of course they have." Genki scowled as she sat down. "I had to explain my plans for taking her in and protecting her to them before I could tell my daughters."

"The tribunal is concerned that Danielle's presence will be an omen for great danger." Splinter stated.

"Danger to everyone or just them?" Genki sighed. "They shroud their objectives and barely have taken action outside of threats as dangerous as the Shredder, the real Shredder I should say. I don't like them looking too closely in on Danielle."

"What will you do?" Splinter asked.

Genki looked away. "I guess I can't do anything about them. As much as people pander to me by my old title, I'm not anywhere close to the great Ninja Tribunal whose powers and sight transcends reality."

"Not even the Tribunal is invincible." Splinter pointed out.

"Maybe but they are more invincible than me." Genki stood up. "I'll continue watching over the girl we've taken in and if she chooses to officially stay and join our family, I believe my daughters will be very happy."

"And if she chooses to go home?"

"It will be hard, but I know that she, Kuki and Mushi have forged a deep bond with each, one that will not break even if they are world's apart." Genki bowed before turning to the door. "And I hope she will get the family she deserves back home."

Splinter smiled. "You've come a long, Genki. You are much different from the hot-blooded warrior who wanted to test her mettle against the strongest of warriors."

"Comes with being a wife and a mother." Genki softly said, leaving the room a second later.

Sensei Splinter closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh. "Yes, it's amazing how much parenthood can change a person."

He just hoped it would be enough to whether the coming storm.

"Something is happening."

Deep underground, in what can only be described as an ancient sanctuary, four armored figures sat on four thrones.

A fifth throne was present, but it remained vacant.

"So, you sense it as well."

Their armor was ancient, and each was different color.

"Of course I do. We all sense it."

There were two male voice and one female voice debating amongst them while the fourth remained silent for reasons unknown.

"And we know just what or who is at the center of it."

"It is not the Dark One or the Shredder but someone else."

The eyes underneath the helmets of these mysterious beings narrowed.

"…The girl…The child of two worlds."

Her.

Danielle 'Dani' Phantom.

The child under the care of the Sanban family.

One of the outsiders from other worlds brought here by pawns of the Dark One.

"We are not the only ones to take notice of her."

BANG-BANG!

"This meeting of the Illuminati will come to order."

A group of crimson robed figures all stood around a circular table, candles being the only source of light in the dark room, stone made room.

"We are here to discuss the recent events that have happened." The apparent leader spoke. "The Golden Castle Incident, the Crom Crises, the Eternal Blizzard brought about by the Ice Queen and the army of Grimm approaching Nowhere Kansas."

The rest of the group remained silent as the leader addressed them.

"In the last year, there has been an upset of events leading us to believe that a great change is about to happen. Now whether that change is for the benefit of mankind or not, we have to prepare for all possible outcomes. Brother Xanatos."

One of the cloaked figures stepped forward and removed their hood, revealing themselves to be David Xanatos.

"You were one of the abducted during the Golden Castle Incident." The leader stated.

"I was." Xanatos nodded.

"Can you tell us your version of the events that transpired?"

"My wife and I were abducted by the Justice Friend Living Bullet who was revealed to be under the control of the true mastermind of the plot: Billiam Milliam. It seemed Billiam was interested in acquiring all the riches from every rich family in the world and he used his Semblance of control over all things gold to force Living Bullet to abduct his targets. The plan was perfect as Living Bullet is the world's fastest man and thus making it impossible for any known security system to detect and stop him in time." Xanatos began. "I have made it a note to see if I can create a security system that can stop him and my staff is always up to the challenge."

"Good to know." The leader nodded.

"We were confined in what could only be described as a literal golden castle atop a giant turtle. I know with everything in the last few decades being beyond the ordinary but as young people would like to say, that literally 'took the cake'. Among us were Scrooge McDuck and his family, Shere Kahn of Kahn Industries and the Sanban family with their ward: Danielle 'Dani' Phantom." Xanatos continued.

"Ah, the so-called ghost hero that recently appeared. We suspect she is not from this world but one of the apparent abductees that are rumored to have been brought here by the mad scientist currently operating in Nowhere." The leader cut in. "What do you make of her?"

"She's a good kid with a decent head on her shoulders. She used her powers stealthily to memorize the interior of the Golden Castle and snuck us out one by one. If not for Billiam intervening at the last moment, we would have escape. In addition to that, she's also powerful and brave considering she survived being turned into a literal golden statue and came to face Billiam after he used a machine and an apparent magical crown to increase his powers exponentially." Xanatos answered with a small smile. "My wife and I owe her for risking her life to save us. The same can be said for every other family she helped save during that time."

"Hm, sounds like she could be a very powerful ally." The leader noted.

"But she is not from this world." Another one of the cloaked members spoke up.

"A minor detail and she is still human." The leader pointed out. "And we have intel that the Sanbans are considering adopting her."

"Genki Sanban, the Demon Blade of the East and Kani Sanban, the current Prime Minister of Japan and the former SAM-R-I." One of the other members noted.

"A powerful family to look after a powerful ally." The leader mused. "And given the increasing number of abnormal events and foes appearing, she might be the ally we need."

"If she is from another dimension, why would she stay?" One of the others asked.

"It has been reported that the girl has suffered a severe trauma that caused her to have amnesia." Xanatos answered. "She has no memories of her past life and is forming a new one with the Sanbans who have taken her into their care."

"And she would be instrumental, given how she was involved in the Crom Crises and the Eternal Blizzard." The leader added. "In fact, she played a role in both the defeats of Crom Cruach and the Ice Queen if the reports are correct."

"How does one child get involved in such dangers?" Another cloaked man asked skeptically.

"The same way all heroes are involved in every danger. It's simply their nature." Xanatos answered with a small smile. "And from what I've heard, she's as every bit as brave and fearless as another one I know very well."

"You of course mean Goliath and the Gargoyles." The leader guessed.

"Well, I wouldn't deny it." Xanatos replied. "But we're on the subject of Miss Phantom at the moment. Now, she may not have been the one who defeated Crom or the Ice Queen, but she managed to take down a criminal like Billiam Milliam and save a lot of people in the process. A lot of people, my wife and I, owe her a debt. I am not sure forcing her to stay would be an option I would consider as repaying that debt."

"There's no need to force anything. While the other off-worlders such as the 'Superboy' and the archer named Artemis are human, at least one of them is fully human while the other is a hybrid of some kind while there are some others to note that might not be trustworthy." The leader spoke, activating a projector.

The first image showed a girl with long blond hair, blue eyes and heart shaped markings on her cheeks.

"One of these off-worlders is an apparent human/butterfly hybrid named Star Butterfly. She's been causing a ruckus at the small town of Echo Creek. She's the princess of an entire kingdom which appears to be medieval in culture but relies heavily on magic that suggests a form of stagnation."

The next image was a boy with black curly, wearing a pink shirt with a yellow star.

"This one is also a hybrid, an offspring between a human and an alien life form as a Gem. I am sure most of you know, the alien race known as Gems attempted to colonize this planet thousands of years ago. Fortunately, due to interferences from the Grimm, the population and a group of rebel Gems, the colonization was stopped. We now have intel that Gems were using this planet's core as a means to incubate and create a weapon of mass destruction that would have seen to the destruction of the planet. Fortunately, this hybrid stopped the weapon from hatching." The leader continued. "It's been suggested that the hybrid known as Steven Universe along with the surviving Gems be neutralized for the damage they have caused. While the rebels see themselves as protectors, they've allowed monstrous versions of themselves to run rampant for thousands of years, they've isolated themselves from any contact and it's been learned that the leader of the rebels was the one who started the colonization in the first place."

The gathered members whispered amongst themselves.

"Again, however they have been our only means of defense against renewed Gem aggression so for the time being we will leave them alone. The next one is another hybrid, a demon/human hybrid."

This time it was the heroine known as Raven.

"She's apparently the daughter of a human and demon who has various abilities that are seen to be magical. While her origins are suspect, she's been taken under the wing of Scotty and the Justice Friends. Like Miss Phantom, she was involved in the Crom Crises and was also of great use in the battle of Nowhere." The leader stated. "As of now, I am not opposed to the ones who wished to leave. It's the ones who were born here and are currently living here that I am opposed to, on the basis that any extraterrestrial race living here presents a danger to us, such as these."

This time, three mice 'Mobians' were shown.

"They claim to be from Mars are known simply as the 'Biker Mice'. Since they fit in as Mobians, they can walk about freely with no need for a disguise. We can also confirm their nemesis named Lawrence Limburger was hiding on Earth, disguising himself as a human to plunder our resources much like he and his people did on Mars." The leader continued as images of Lawrence Limburger in both his human disguise and real forms were shown. "Recently, he seems to have disappeared but there is no way to know for sure if he has left our planet or not. We must be prepared if he returns and will likely attempt to invade and strip-mine our planets like Mars. And this is not even covering the incident at the Black Mesa research facility in New Mexico."

"What do you suggest?" Xanatos asked.

"We need warriors and guardians at the forefront to contain the mass spread of alien sightings and incursions. The Justice Friends remains as the primary group to defend the Earth, but heroes remain blind to the dangers of extraterrestrials due to their sense of compassion. We on the other hand prefer preparation and vigilance. Hence our gathering here today, we decide which races and hybrids and which ones can be our allies." The leader then showed the projected image of Dani. "Starting with young Miss Phantom here. Given her amnesia and the connections she's making here in our dimension, her powers make her a most valuable asset. The question if she begins to regain her memories, would she want to return to her universe or stay here?"

"I suppose that question can only be answered if we know her story. Problem is, even if the Sanbans would know, they've very tight lipped about it." Xanatos pointed out. "The only other who might know besides the people who brought her here would be Sensei Splinter of Yamanouchi Academy."

"Then we will monitor her for the time being and wait to see what her response will be." The leader removed his hood, revealing a man with black hair and dark glasses. "You've done good work, Brother Xanatos."

"All in a day's work, Brother Bishop." Xanatos smiled.
