The jazzy intro music fades out as Julia leans toward her mic, her smirk brimming with excitement. She flips through her notes, pausing to highlight certain sections—today's lineup promises drama, and she's here to deliver it.
"Welcome back, Total Drama superfans, to another episode of Get Over Yourself. I'm Julia, your host, the queen of spilling tea, and the last person you want calling out your flaws. Today, we've got Courtney, Owen, and Duncan stopping by for a little chat—or, more accurately, an interrogation. From courtroom drama to food mishaps to bad boy antics, we're covering it all. Buckle up. It's going to be a bumpy ride."
She presses a button, and a soundbite of Courtney yelling "I OBJECT!" blares through the speakers. Julia chuckles, savoring the memory.
Courtney's Interview
The door opens, and in strides Courtney, her heels clicking confidently against the floor. She's dressed like she's heading to a corporate meeting—blazer, pencil skirt, and the perfect amount of makeup. But behind her composed exterior, her eyes glint with something sharper: determination mixed with caution. She knows this won't be an easy interview. She sits down across from Julia, crossing her legs neatly.
"Courtney," Julia greets with a smile that's far from friendly. "I've been waiting for this one."
Courtney scoffs, adjusting the cuffs of her blazer. "Let's just get to it. I know how this works."
"Oh, you do? Good, because I have questions. Lots of them." Julia leans forward, resting her elbows on the desk. "So, let's start with the basics: Why do you think you've been eliminated so many times across multiple seasons?"
Courtney stiffens, her jaw clenching slightly. "Because people see me as a threat. I'm strategic, competitive, and I don't hold back. They'd rather get rid of me early than risk me making it to the finals."
Julia tilts her head, her smirk widening. "That's one way to spin it. But let's be real—your reputation isn't exactly spotless. You've made a lot of enemies, Courtney. Care to explain why so many fans and contestants find you... unbearable?"
Courtney bristles. "Unbearable? That's a bit harsh."
"Is it, though?" Julia flips through her notes, her tone casual but biting. "Let's see... In Total Drama Action, you sued the show because you didn't like how things were going. In World Tour, you sabotaged people left and right. And in All Stars, you backstabbed your own alliances. You have a pattern of control issues, betrayal, and—let's not sugarcoat it—hypocrisy."
Courtney opens her mouth to protest, but Julia cuts her off. "And let's not forget the infamous Duncan-Gwen love triangle. The fans haven't forgiven you for how you handled that, by the way."
Courtney's face turns red, and for a moment, it seems like she might explode. But instead, she takes a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm. "I made mistakes, okay? I was under pressure, and I let my competitive nature get the better of me. But I've grown since then."
"Have you?" Julia raises an eyebrow. "Because from where I'm sitting, it looks like you're still the same control freak who can't stand when things don't go her way."
Courtney's hands tighten into fists on her lap, but then something shifts in her expression. Her shoulders relax slightly, and she sighs. "Maybe I am. I just... I always feel like I have to prove myself. I worked so hard to get where I am, and when things don't go according to plan, it's hard not to panic."
Julia leans back, satisfied that she's cracked through Courtney's defenses. "That's more honest than I expected. So, what's your biggest takeaway from all this?"
Courtney pauses, thinking. "I guess... I need to stop trying to control everything. It's okay to trust other people sometimes."
"Good answer," Julia says, her smirk softening. "But let's see if you can actually apply it next time—if there is a next time." She winks. "Thanks for joining me, Courtney. Don't forget your complimentary 'Better Luck Next Time' gift basket."
Courtney stands, adjusting her blazer before walking out with her head held high, but there's a new vulnerability in her eyes.
Owen's Interview
The door swings open, and in bounds Owen, his energy as infectious as ever. He's wearing his usual T-shirt and shorts, and his eyes light up when he spots the snack table in the corner of the room. Julia laughs as he grabs a handful of chips before plopping down across from her, crumbs already scattering on the table.
"Owen," Julia says, shaking her head. "Did you even leave any snacks for the rest of us?"
Owen grins, his mouth full of chips. "Maybe." He swallows and wipes his hands on his shorts. "But I get hungry when I'm nervous."
"Good," Julia says, leaning forward. "Because you should be. Let's talk about your elimination. Why do you think you keep getting taken out before the finals?"
Owen scratches the back of his neck, his smile dimming slightly. "I guess people think I'm just here to have fun and eat. They don't take me seriously as a competitor."
"Can you blame them?" Julia asks, raising an eyebrow. "You've built a reputation as the lovable goofball who can't resist food. You've puked in challenges, eaten things you shouldn't have, and let's not forget the time you accidentally blew up a kitchen."
Owen chuckles nervously. "Yeah, I've made some mistakes."
"More than some," Julia corrects, flipping through her notes. "But here's the thing—fans love you, but they also get frustrated with you. They see you as someone who has potential but never quite reaches it because you're too busy goofing off. Does that bother you?"
Owen's smile fades completely, and for a moment, he looks down at his hands. "Yeah. It does. I know people think I'm just the fun guy, but I want to be more than that. I want people to see that I can be serious when it counts."
"Then why don't they?" Julia presses.
Owen sighs. "Because I let myself fall into that role too easily. It's comfortable, you know? But I think it's time for me to step out of my comfort zone."
"That's the most self-aware thing you've said all day," Julia says, impressed. "So, what would you do differently if you had another chance?"
"I'd focus on the social game more," Owen says, determination flickering in his eyes. "And I'd prove that I can be more than just the fun guy."
Julia smiles, leaning back. "Good. Because if you want to win, you're going to need to show that side of yourself more often."
Owen nods, his usual grin returning. "Thanks, Julia. This was... surprisingly helpful."
"You're welcome," Julia says with a wink. "Now grab a snack for the road."
Owen waves goodbye, grabbing a bag of chips before heading out.
Duncan's Interview
The studio door creaks open, and in walks Duncan, his casual stride matching his signature "I-don't-care" attitude. His studded leather jacket clinks slightly as he takes a seat across from Julia, leaning back like he owns the place. He runs a hand through his green mohawk, smirking like he already knows what Julia's going to ask. But Julia's seen this act before, and she's ready to peel back the layers.
"Duncan," Julia says, her eyes narrowing playfully. "Welcome to the show. I wasn't sure you'd actually show up."
"Yeah, well," Duncan says, his smirk deepening, "I had nothing better to do."
Julia laughs softly. "Of course. So, let's jump right in. You've been on Total Drama more times than most people can count, and yet, here you are—eliminated once again. Why do you think that keeps happening?"
Duncan shrugs lazily. "Because people are scared of me. I'm a threat."
"Or," Julia says, tapping her pen against her notebook, "maybe they're just tired of your 'too cool to care' routine. Let's be real—how long can you pull that off before people start calling your bluff?"
Duncan raises an eyebrow, his smirk faltering slightly. "What do you mean, bluff?"
Julia leans forward, her voice dropping into a softer, more serious tone. "I mean, you act like you don't care about anything, but we both know that's not true. If you didn't care, you wouldn't keep coming back. So, what are you really trying to prove, Duncan?"
For the first time, Duncan looks uncomfortable. He shifts in his seat, his gaze flicking briefly to the floor before returning to Julia. "I'm not trying to prove anything. I just like the competition."
"Sure," Julia says, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "And that's why you've blown up almost every alliance you've been in, walked out on challenges, and basically sabotaged your own game multiple times. Let's talk about All Stars—you had a solid alliance, and then you threw it all away. Why?"
Duncan clenches his jaw, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the armrest. "I don't know. I guess I get bored. I don't like playing by the rules."
"Or maybe," Julia counters, "you self-sabotage because you're afraid of what happens if you actually try and fail."
Duncan's eyes widen slightly, and for a moment, he's silent. Julia knows she's hit a nerve, and she doesn't let up.
"You have a pattern, Duncan," she continues. "You push people away before they can reject you. You did it with Courtney, you did it with Gwen, and you've done it with almost every alliance you've ever had. And the worst part? You're not fooling anyone but yourself."
Duncan laughs bitterly, leaning forward in his seat. "You think you've got me all figured out, huh?"
"I don't think," Julia says confidently. "I know. And deep down, you know it too. So, let me ask you this—what would happen if you actually let people in and stopped pretending you don't care?"
Duncan leans back, running a hand through his hair as he exhales slowly. "Honestly? I don't know. Maybe I wouldn't be sitting here right now if I did." He pauses, his voice softening. "It's hard to trust people when you've been burned before."
"I get that," Julia says, her tone surprisingly gentle. "But you can't win this game—or any game—if you keep pushing people away. Maybe it's time to stop running from everything and actually face it."
Duncan chuckles, shaking his head. "You're good at this, you know that?"
"I've been told," Julia replies with a wink. "So, what's your takeaway from this?"
Duncan leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Maybe... maybe I should stop pretending I'm invincible. It's exhausting." He pauses, then smirks. "But don't expect me to get all mushy or anything."
"Wouldn't dream of it," Julia says, grinning. "Thanks for joining me, Duncan. Don't forget to grab your parting gift—it's a mirror, so you can reflect on all your mistakes."
Duncan laughs, standing up and stretching. "I'll see you around, Julia. Maybe next time I won't be sitting in this chair."
"We'll see," Julia replies, watching him leave.
Fan QA
Julia turns back to the mic, tapping her tablet to bring up the fan questions. "Now that we've heard from Courtney, Owen, and Duncan, it's time for my favorite part of the show: fan questions. You sent them in, and I'm ready to give you the brutally honest answers you deserve."
She scrolls through the submissions, stopping at the first question. "Here's a good one from @DramaQueenXoxo: 'Julia, which of the three guests today do you think has the most potential to grow, and who's doomed to repeat their mistakes?'"
Julia chuckles, leaning forward. "Okay, let's break this down. Most potential to grow? Surprisingly, I'm going with Owen. He actually admitted that he needs to step out of his comfort zone, and if he can do that, he might just surprise everyone."
She pauses for dramatic effect. "Now, as for who's doomed to repeat their mistakes... Duncan. I love the guy, but let's be real—he's his own worst enemy. If he doesn't fix his self-sabotaging tendencies, he's going to keep crashing and burning."
She swipes to the next question. "This one's from @TotalDramaGossip: 'Which contestant do you think has burned the most bridges?' Easy—Courtney. She's been burning bridges since Season 1, and somehow, she always manages to make a comeback. But if she ever wants to win, she needs to repair those bridges instead of setting them on fire."
Julia scrolls again, her eyes lighting up. "Here's a fun one from @OwenFanForever: 'Would you rather be stuck on a deserted island with Owen or Duncan?' Honestly? Owen. Sure, he'd eat all the food, but at least he'd make me laugh. Duncan would probably get bored and start carving graffiti into the palm trees."
She checks the time and sighs. "Well, that's all the time we have for today's questions. But don't worry, I'll be back next time with more roasts, more tea, and maybe a few confessions you didn't see coming. Until then, remember—if you think you're safe, you're probably next. This has been Get Over Yourself. Bye for now!"
The outro music swells, fading out as Julia leans back in her chair, satisfied with the chaos she's left in her wake.
A/N: If you'd like, leave a question and it might be brought in the next episode of this.
