Death Anniversary: Part One
~~~~~~~~~~The first week of school went off without a problem, it was now weekend, Oliver and Kara were taking Astra over to Mon-El's, well it was just Kara taking Astra, Oliver stayed behind so he could spend some time with Mia.
Mia's phone buzzed a reminder from her calendar, she lifted her phone off the nightstand already knowing the reminder.
August 6th — Death Anniversary.
It had been six years since the death of Felicity Smoak.
Mia threw her phone it landing in a beanbag in the corner of her room, sobs escaped her body as she curled up in a ball under the blankets.
She heard her door open slightly "Go away," she muttered sniffing.
"Mia...?" she heard Astra's voice making the blonde wipe her tears as she sat up to see her younger sister standing in the door way "Are you okay?" Astra asked walking over to Mia's bed.
"I'm fine," Mia gave the girl a sad smile helping her on the bed "Aren't you supposed to be going over to Mon-El's?"
"Yeah," Astra nodded "But mama and daddy said to come give you a hug," she said.
Mia smiled giving the little girl a hug "Goodbye little Star," Mia whispered into Astra's ears. It was the last thing her mother had said to her when she had died.
Oliver rushed through the hospital doors with Thea behind him.
He had got a call from William saying that Felicity had collapsed while playing with Mia.
"William!" Oliver spotted his son holding his six year old daughter who had been crying for her mom.
"Daddy!" Mia jumped out William's arms and ran towards Oliver who picked her up "I want mommy!" Mia cried into Oliver's shoulder.
"Shh," Oliver brushed the blonde hair of his daughter "It's going to be okay."
"William, what happened?" Thea asked.
"She was playing with Astra, she had been saying she was having headaches all day and her nose would bleed, I...I told her to relax and take a nap and I would watch Mia but she wanted to, so they started playing next thing I hear is Mia crying calling out for Felicity," William explained tears running down his face "If...If only I had..."
"William it's not your fault," Oliver told him.
The doctor stepped out "Felicity Queen?" she looked over at the five.
Oliver stepped up, he saw the look on the doctor's face and knew right away, "Can we see her?" He asked.
She nodded opening the door for them.
"Mommy!" Mia cried.
Felicity eyes opened slowly. "Hey..." she smiled weakly.
Oliver walked over to Felicity's bed he sat in the chair sitting Mia on his lap grabbing onto Felicity's hand.
"What's wrong with her?" Oliver asked.
"She has stage four cancer," the doctor replied softly.
"Stage four?" Oliver questioned "We would have noticed the other stages by now."
"I...I did..." Felicity said weakly "I...found out a year ago..."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Oliver asked tears streaming down his face.
"I'll give you some time." The doctor left.
"Because I knew you would drop everything and help," Felicity told him "The city needs you...as mayor...and...Green Arrow, Mia and William needed their father, I needed you to be happy and not constantly worry..." Felicity said.
"I will always worry about you," Oliver said quietly.
Mia sat there crying, she was only six years old and knew what was going on, her mommy was sick and was dying.
William and Thea stood back William in Thea's arms as they cried softly.
"Mommy," Mia croaked out.
"Mia..." Felicity's gaze landed on her daughter "My little Star," she smiled weakly "Promise me you'll be a good girl for daddy?"
Mia nodded "I...promise..."
"I love you my little Star..." Felicity managed to get out before her monitors started beeping.
"Help!" Thea ran towards the door to call the nurses who all rushed in the room trying to save Felicity.
Oliver, William, and Thea watched frozen tears going down their faces as Mia cling onto Oliver's shirt sobbing burying her face into his chest.
Then she died.
Mia was once aging in a ball crying as she remembered her mother's death, it happened every year on this date, she would miss school because of it locking herself in her room not talking to anyone.
Her door opened again but she didn't hear this time, she felt someone climb into her bed knowing it was Oliver as her wrapped his arms around her comforting his daughter, Mia turned around into his chest crying even harder.
"I miss her."
"I know," Oliver said softly brushing his fingers through her hair as he did that day "I miss her too, Little Star," he told her.
Oliver had tears in his eyes, he was still angry about that day, he had no one to blame but himself not seeing that his own wife was sick, he as angry that she didn't tell him, leaving not just him broken but their daughter and son broken.
William was in his room, he had locked his door so no one would come in, sure Felicity's death hit Oliver and Mia really hard but it also hit him hard.
Felicity was like a second mother to him after Samantha had passed away, he hadn't opened up to any woman after his mother's death besides Thea and Felicity.
He sat on his bed, lights off, curtains shut, and his phone shut off to so he won't get any reminders of the day, he had been crying.
He had lost two mothers, that's why when Oliver and Kara started to date he wouldn't allow himself to warm up to her because he was afraid to lose her too and he still is.
Evelyn sat outside both bedrooms listening to her siblings sob about Felicity, she was angry that she couldn't do anything to help or comfort them.
She had met Felicity once but that was when she was on the wrong side.
All she wanted to do was help all three of them heal from this bad thing, she wanted to be there for them.
Told you, you might hate me for this...sorry to anyone who was emotional damaged by this.
Hope you enjoyed.
