Entry Twenty-Seven

Draco Malfoy that git! I swear sometimes I just want to round house him in the face. Today he came to me while I was reading in father's study. He sat down in one of the chairs and I could hear him moving around and making a lot of unnecessary noise. I finally told him to spit out whatever he wanted to say. Draco told me he has spoken to Hermione about my theory and research. I guess I'll be speaking to her sooner rather than later. I just sighed and looked at him, well more like glared at him. I'm barely at the beginning of this whole research thing, I wanted to get a little more information and see if it would go anywhere before I talked to her about it. Apparently, she got excited about it and asked if she could help as well. Then Draco has the audacity to tell me I should try to get along with her. He's completely mental. I just said I'd try. That should get him off my back for the time being. Then he says she's waiting in the library for me. I asked him, did that stab to the leg leave a scar. He just scoffed and said stop being a twit.

I love getting under his skin, it just makes my day better. Although I reluctantly made my way to the library, Hermione was sitting at one of the desk reading a book. I asked her if she was busy and she said she wasn't, so I sat down in one of the chairs. I just went straight to the point, because I don't know how to small talk to save my life. I told her about my theory on blood magic and manipulating the runes and changing the incantations to make modifications to my magical core. Hermonie just gawked at me, and I was getting uncomfortable because she wasn't saying anything. Then she finally spoke, and said it was worth researching and seeing if it was possible. Then she asked me where I had found the theory of it, I asked her what she meant. She then said, well did you read about it somewhere. I told her no, I said I'm sure Draco had told you about the blood magic we used for the barriers. She said he did, and I said well because of that, it had me thinking of other possible ways of using that kind of magic. And the main purpose of it was to get these chains to void out so I can wail my magic again.

Then she asked if the theory is proven useful, how is it going to be tested to make sure it was safe and to see if there were any side effects. I just told her if I get to the that point of turning that theory into practice, at that time, it will be addressed how its going to be tested. It was the best answer to give her, since she has a bleeding heart and telling her straightforward about using test subjects would rail her curly hair up. So I did not mention it to her, I wasn't about to have oppositions because of that. Then I finally asked her if she was interested in helping me with my research. She jumped at the opportunity to work with me. I don't know if she thought I was some meat head that only knew how to fight and kill.

I have Hermonie the notebook I was writing in. She looked at the notebook and looked at me. I said what, I like using notebooks. So she went over the notes for a while, as she sat there and read through them, I was browsing the shelves to see if I would find anything interesting. I didn't, when I went back to where she was seated, she said this was really good notes. I really don't know if I should take it as a compliment or be offended like she's surprise I know how to take notes. I said my thank you and took my notebook back. I asked her if she had an experience using blood magic, she said she didn't. So I went back to the shelves and pulled a tome for her, and told her to read it. When she is done, we can discuss what I am doing. I got up to leave, she asked if I was comfortable working with her. I told her yes, I don't have any issues working with you. She smiled and said I'm looking forward to working with you. I said okay and turned to leave. Hermonie then said, thank you Ash for including me, I know Draco talked to you, but I'm grateful you are willing to work with me. I said you are welcome.

I spend the entire day reading and taking notes, the house elf brought me my meal, I ate and continued my work. I took my potions and Narcissa came into the study to inform me I have an appointment with the healer tomorrow. Now I am back in my room ready for bed, all I see are runes when I close my eyes. I'm optimistic about this and it's filling my day up. So I don't feel so lonely, I finally have something I am interested in doing. I do miss my husband, but I'm sure he will be returning soon. My eyes are burning, so I am going to call it a night.
