The week went at a slow pace. Throughout the days I continued to heal everyone with homemade medicine, I was so upset and disappointed in everyone that I didn't use magic to heal anyone. Chris obviously wasn't going to get his way, throughout the week I made sure to punish the host with practical jokes. From leaving your trailer in the middle of the sea to changing your beauty products for green paint.
I didn't go near Gwen all week, I felt so angry with her. To me, the goth girl was like the most responsible person in the entire camp, but that ended when she didn't stop anyone when they tried to catch me, and because of me everyone had gotten hurt, not to mention Cody almost died because of me. But there was something that left me confused and serious at the same time.
Unfortunate events occurred on the Screaming Gophers team. Heather once got locked outside in the middle of a rainy night. She couldn't explain why she firmly believed her classmates had locked her out, but Lindsay struggled to tell the girl that the door was actually stuck.
The other time. Beth, Bombshell Girl, and Leshawna went to take a shower but then screamed when the hot water suddenly changed to ice water. When Cheff went to check he informed us that nothing was broken, but the girls could have sworn that the hands that kept the temperature of the water tank stable had moved.
Everything went haywire when one night, the entire team left the cabin because Harold's bed was on fire. I used my water magic to prevent the fire from spreading, but the nerd boy's bed was beyond repair. Chris then decided that Harold would sleep with us, until Chef set up another bed for the nerdy boy.
The blame fell on Duncan, because the punk kid was the only camper who had a lighter, and everyone thought he had pulled a prank that got out of control, but that was impossible. I remembered that that day, he lost his lighter saying that he left it on the bed, and in the end, the lighter appeared undamaged, on top of Harold's bed.
I searched and searched the camp, but couldn't find anything. I meditated and immediately knew that there was something between all of us, something that no one could see or hear except me. Whatever that thing was, it took no guessing to know that he was angry.
A new day began. We were all sleeping peacefully in our beds, I decided not to train so I slept soundly in case something worse was going to happen. Suddenly I was woken up by a scream, I went down immediately with my katana ready.
"Where is!?." I looked around seriously and then I saw Duncan point angrily at the floor, when I looked at the floor I also wrinkled my face angrily when I saw underwear that we easily knew who it belonged to.
We all have important rules that we have made at our first dinner. And one of the main things has to do with cleaning our clothes, every day as a team one of us had to go to the lake in the forest to wash our clothes because we don't have a washing machine so we do everything by hand.
Since Harold moved in, all the kids, including me, have been doing laundry. Owen, Geoff DJ, Duncan, we all knew our responsibilities, except the nerdy guy. But there was a bigger problem than the lack of help with laundry.
"Harold, this is not right man." I said seriously before using a branch to grab the teen's underwear while everyone slowly woke up.
"They are not mine." We all rolled our eyes at Harold's words.
"Harold, out of everyone here, it's obvious that these are your panties after all you always leave them lying around." I said seriously dropping the underwear on the floor.
"You have no proof that those underwear are mine." The moment Harold stood up we all looked at the boy with a blank look.
"Man, you're literally wearing the same underwear right now." Duncan said before pointing to the same item of underwear the nerdy teen was wearing.
"Not to mention that your mom embroidered your name on them." Geoff pointed to the underwear on the floor where Harold's name was hand-embroidered.
"Anyway, I'll go take a shower." The nerdy teen grabbed a towel and left the cabin, leaving the boys and me.
"Don't forget to clean the toilet!" Duncan shouted with a smile but then everyone saw me look at the underwear on the floor in disgust.
"I'm sick of Harold leaving his dirty clothes everywhere, I once slept on the floor because I found his boxers on my pillow. Ugh, I had to burn them after that." I said with disgust looking at the boys and they all seemed to get a little serious.
"Don't remind me. I found one in my hat." Geoff shivered before adjusting his cowboy hat.
"You know something? Harold thinks we are his servants, I think it's time to teach him a lesson." Duncan said before looking at me. I understood that look and slowly a smile from ear to ear appeared on my face like Junko.
"Are you talking about a joke? Now you have my full attention." The boys all smiled darkly upon hearing what I said and we all shared an evil laugh.
Duncan.:
"Not who taught Kitsune to play pranks. But whoever it was taught him very well, I could hear Chris screaming every day for every prank he landed. Man, my ribs still hurt when Benja filled his bed with cockroaches and beetles. " The punk boy couldn't help but laugh.
Me.:
"Doing these things is not my thing. But I'm tired of Harold's lack of help and arrogance, I think giving him a lesson won't be so bad, right?" I smiled looking at the camera holding the Monokuma plushie causing the bear to laugh.
Suddenly all our talk was interrupted when we heard screams outside. As we walked out we could see Lindsay being attacked by an eagle, I quickly went on the defensive and let out a sonic screech which caused the bird to quickly fly away.
"Lindsay, are you okay? What happened?" We all approached and saw that the girl's face was scratched as well as her arms and back.
"It happened so suddenly. I ran out of my tanning lotion so I decided to tan on the beach. But suddenly that bird attacked me and took off my bra." We all froze and when I saw Lindsay I immediately turned around with my face completely red with embarrassment due to the girl's exposed breasts.
"Man, you don't see this often." Duncan smiled but then the boy was hit by Courtney.
"Have a little more respect, animal." The girl came over with a blanket and covered the bomb girl.
"It's okay Lindsay, umm. I'll take care of it now." I said before running off to the cabin to relax a bit, then returning with a jar.
"I still have a lot of homemade medicine left, with the help of my plants this cream will heal all the wounds." I said before handing the jar to Courtney.
"Wouldn't it be faster if you used your magic?" Courtney asked but then everyone went quiet as my eyes turned cold and serious.
"I remind all of you that I'm still angry because no one dared to stop Chris when he gave them my magic. I won't use my magic until further notice, and don't insist, until then you will use the traditional medicine I learned and that's it." Everyone was silent and watched me leave, among all the campers, Gwen listened to everything with disappointment.
Gwen.:
"I'm to blame for everything, Benja is free to hate us and be disappointed in all of us, especially me. I tried to get closer to him but he was avoiding me all week, I can't help but feel like I ruined my friendship with him. I have to fix this, whatever the cost." The gothic girl said, looking at the camera with determination, but at the same time concern.
After letting Lindsay get dressed, we all went to the dining room to eat breakfast only to see Owen trying to open the door.
"Come on Chef, I need my breakfast!" The big teenager was a sea of tears fighting to open the dining room door.
"Cheff isn't open yet? He usually gives us our breakfast at eight." I said looking at my friends. We were all confused, could Chef have gotten sick? Everything was interrupted when the booming noise of a bugle was heard throughout the camp.
"Campers. Everyone report to the beach right now, your new challenge is waiting for you."
"A challenge at this hour?" Heather asked irritably, looking at the new speakers.
"Come on Owen, maybe there's food over there." I said as Duncan and I pulled the teen away from the door before we all headed to the beach.
Unfortunately for Owen and for many, upon arriving at the beach there were no traces of food, in the middle of the place Chris was waiting with the smile that characterizes him so much.
"Chris, where's the food?" Owen was the first to speak, looking at the host, but that didn't change the presenter's smile.
"Campers. Today's challenge will test your reflexes, teamwork and cooking skills. You will all make a three-course meal and serve it to me for a tasting, the team that wins will receive a wonderful reward while the losers will be sent home."
"In each team there will be a Head Chef who will be in charge of the dishes, presentation and to make sure that nothing ruins their dishes." Chris said with a smile but Heather rolled her eyes.
"And what will we do? Tree bark with larvae?" The girl asked sarcastically with her eyes rolling.
"No. Every Chef needs ingredients, so they will use the ingredients we receive every morning." Suddenly we all heard a noise and when we turned around we saw a truck coming out of the water being driven by a dolphin. That left everyone wide-eyed.
"Alright campers. Go to the truck and choose your ingredients." Chris said with a smile as we all hit the road. When we opened it we could see a huge variety of fresh food.
"What could we cook?" Owen asked looking at a dozen eggs making me think.
"We could cook an Omurice with rice, egg and we could accompany it with a side of vegetables, then we could make a cheese fondue and we could finish everything with some Macarons for dessert." Suddenly I felt something above my head and turned to see Duncan.
"Hello Chef." I was very surprised to hear those words and then I saw that everyone was smiling making me smile.
"Okay, I'm going to do my best. I'll go get my recipes, I always write them in a notebook." I said smiling before running to the cabin.
The moment I got to the cabin to get my book, I could feel something soft in my suitcase. I slowly grabbed it and when I took it out I saw that it was a kitchen apron, I smiled wistfully and hugged it in silence. It was Marie's apron.
Me.:
"I don't care if this makes me a clown. But this is something I appreciate deep down, you can laugh if you want. But I will do this." The camera only focused on my face and not the rest of my body.
"I'll be the head chef." All of the Screaming Gophers members rolled their eyes when Heather mentioned being the team leader.
"And try not to ruin it this time." Heather said with annoyance looking at Beth. The moment she walked to the truck, the farm girl gave her the middle finger when Heather wasn't looking.
"Ignore that bitch, sister. She's not worth it." Leshawna said looking at Beth. Although the girl was not going to deny that she would have also done the same action as the farmer.
"Alright friends. Let's get to work." Geoff said with all the things from our food and immediately the Killer Bass team went to the dining room.
"Leshawna, mangoes. Beth, pineapples, Lindsay, hazelnuts, Trent, molasses, Gwen, Tomatoes, Harold, ribs." Heather said as the team brought the aforementioned ingredients out of the truck.
Heather.:
"I have to take the lead in this challenge. We have been on a losing streak and that has to change now, luckily I know cooking so this challenge is in the bag." The girl said proudly looking at the camera.
The Screaming Gophers team was confused, that was because Killer Bass was at the entrance of the kitchen completely frozen as if someone had passed by.
"Hello? Move your asses, turtles. What's wrong with you?" Heather roughly pushed the rival team and suddenly she as well as the Screaming Gophers were surprised at what they were seeing.
In front of everyone, the sound of knives being sharpened was clear inside the room, there I was but not as everyone expected. I was wearing a black maid dress with white embroidery and a white apron, my hair was tied up in two pigtails with traditional Japanese comfortable shoes and my tails were tucked under my skirt.
Duncan.:
"Man, I've seen a lot of things in my life, but I never thought of this." The punk boy was clearly stunned looking at the camera.
"Benja. Wow, what a beautiful outfit, you look incredible." Lindsay was the first to break the ice causing me to stop sharpening my knives before laughing.
"Thank you very much, Lindsay." I said with a bow as I approached where the others were.
"Man, I have to ask. Why are you wearing an outfit that Mary Poppins would wear?" Duncan asked looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
"I do this for a special person to me, someone who waits for me at home." I said with a nostalgic smile before taking out a small pocket watch, when I opened it there was a photograph of Marie and me inside.
"I understand you, friend. I always wear my mom's apron every time I go to cook." DJ said before showing a pink apron with a heart in the center.
"It's your sister?." Geoff asked curiously making me laugh nervously.
"Let's leave that topic for another day." Some seemed confused by my strange nervousness while others just shrugged.
"I think you look good." Gwen said but the girl noticed that I frowned in annoyance.
"Put your eyes on your kitchen, not on me." I said coldly before walking back to my workplace without noticing the uncomfortable grimace of some campers.
"Problem with your fox, white girl?" Leshawna asked curiously making Gwen sigh.
"Benja hates me, it's understandable that she resents me, I think those knives are for me." The two girls watched me skillfully sharpen the knives before grabbing a sheet of paper and cutting it without any effort, which made them feel a chill.
"Sister. I'll tell you this, if you want that boy to make it up to you, I think it would be best if you leave him alone. You've been trying to get his attention all week and he just gets angrier and angrier. Listen, we'll talk to him later, okay? Just give him space." Leshawna said with a smile making Gwen sigh.
"Yes, I suppose it will be for the best." The goth girl gave me one last look before sighing and heading to the kitchen with her team.
"Tell us, Mrs. Chef. What are we going to do?" Duncan asked with a smile making me laugh a little.
"Alright. DJ, Bridgette, you two will help me with the Omurice, Owen, Geoff prepare things for the cheese fondue, I'll give you the recipe, meanwhile, Duncan, Katie, Courtney and Harold will take care of the macarons." I said before taking out a small box from my apron, I opened the box before taking out two cards with the recipes, I looked at my team and handed the fondue recipe to DJ and the macarons recipe to Duncan.
"Oh, no. I won't be working alongside him." Courtney said before pointing at the punk boy with an angry look.
"Come on Courtney, do it for the team." Geoff said with a smile looking at Duncan while both teenagers made pleading eyes at the girl.
Courtney.:
"He is totally apathetic, that pig never washes his hands, he is completely unpleasant."
Suddenly the recording began to be advanced showing that the talk was quite extensive and prolonged.
Chris.:
"Do you have any idea how much my editor charges me? I accept that it was my idea for the confessional, but I never accepted those extremes, and believe me, I'm doing everyone a favor." Chris held a remote control that fast-forwarded the recording of Courtney.
I looked around me. Duncan, Courtney, Katie and Harold were busy making the Macarons while Geoff and Owen were preparing garnishes for the fondue. I smiled discreetly and approached them.
"Guys, I'm so sorry. I got really distracted and I accidentally forgot the recipe for Omurice, could you go to the cabin to look for it?" I asked with a smile and glanced at Harold. The kids understood and smiled.
"Yes Benja, don't worry friend." Geoff and Owen had to suppress a giggle as they left and I returned to DJ and Bridgette.
Inside the cabin, the two boys began rummaging through Harold's clothes, until they pulled out his underwear. Owen and Geoff used gloves and sticks to remove the stinky, dirty boxers from their putrid hiding place and then threw them on the floor.
"Did you bring the hot sauce?" Geoff asked before putting the last dirty underwear into a paper bag.
"Habanero or jalapeño?" Owen flashed a smile before pulling out two bottles of hot sauce.
"Aren't we going too far by doing this?" Geoff looked very worried looking at the big teenager.
"Don't worry, Duncan and Benja thought of everything, besides this is Duncan's plan, we probably won't use Benja's plan." Owen said with a smile but he noticed that his friend still seemed doubtful, suddenly an idea hit the big teenager that made him smile.
"Don't you want revenge when Harold threw one of his underwear in your face while you were sleeping?" That simple question hit DJ like a bullet to the head and he suddenly remembered that day.
What Geoff remembered clearly, he was sleeping peacefully when something suddenly hit his face, it was wet, smelly and disgusting, when he opened his eyes he was screaming when he saw Harold's underwear right in his eyes.
"Give me that." The teen grabbed the two hot sauce bottles from Owen's hands before dropping the two hot sauces onto Harold's underwear.
Geoff.:
"Normally I never do these things and if I make jokes I don't take them far, but Harold. I'm sorry man, but I hope this makes you be careful where you leave your things and this, it's revenge for my hat." The partying teenager looked venomously at the camera.
"We're back Chef." We all turned to see Geoff and Owen, the partying teenager handed me a blank card pretending to be the Omurice recipe.
"Thank you so much guys." I smiled before going to Bridgette and DJ.
"DJ, be very careful, you are overcooking the egg, Bridgette, you must watch the rice so that it doesn't overcook." I said looking at my friends but they seemed worried.
"Sorry man, we've never done this before." DJ looked at me and I smiled before getting between the two of them.
"The trick for a good Omurice is that the egg omelette is not so cooked, what characterizes this dish is opening the hole on top of the rice and covering the entire dish. If it is cooked for too long the egg will be dry but also They must make sure that it is moist and not raw." I said while I was preparing the egg, it's about to go into the pan.
"Now, toasted rice is good but it will be very simple if you only use egg and salt, you should try to experiment with different things. chives, peppers, all rice for a good Omurice must have a good flavor to accompany the egg. Ideal for cooking to make rice like this is to use a deep frying pan, it's not bad to use a standard frying pan, but it helps to move and mix the ingredients well."
While I was explaining, my entire team watched as I masterfully cut vegetables using the knives that I had previously sharpened before starting to sauté the rice along with the chives. Using magic, I made the flame a little more intense to cook the rice quickly.
"Now, using a mold or a wooden spoon we will shape the rice, this way we can later put the tortilla on top." I said as I placed the rice on a plate before shaping it and grabbing another pan with the omelette I used chopsticks to shape it and then put it on top of the rice.
"This is good to accompany with a sauce, usually, you write something on top." I blushed a lot remembering Yukie, Tatsu or Kiriko cooking.
"Time of truth." I grabbed a knife and when I cut the omelet it opened completely covering the toasted rice making me smile happily before grabbing two forks and handing them to Bridgette and DJ.
"Please do me the honor of trying it." I said smiling as the two teens grabbed the forks.
"Man, it looks good." DJ and Bridgette took a bite of the Omurice which made me a little tense but then I saw that the two teenagers seemed to really enjoy the dish.
"Oh man, this tastes amazing, guys come try it!" The whole team smiled and went to where DJ is and ate from Omurice.
"Please, everyone, eat." My team smiled and everyone came closer before eating the Omurice.
"Man this tastes amazing." Geoff said with a smile as everyone ate quietly.
"If they served this in the reformatory, I would never get out." Duncan said with a smile before taking another bite of the Omurice.
"Hey, I want to try too!" Unlike everyone, Harold seemed to have a hard time eating because he was behind Owen. DJ looked at me and I winked at him with a smile.
"Sorry man, let me help you." DJ wanted to give some of the Omurice to Harold, but by "accident" the boy fell to the ground causing the food to stain all over the nerdy boy's pants.
"Hey, look!" Harold shouted angrily but then we heard a scream of horror before we saw Owen dive to the ground to eat the rest of the Omurice that fell to the ground.
"It was an accident Harold. Go change, and DJ, you and Bridgette prepare a new Omurice. And Owen." The big boy looked at me making me laugh nervously.
"Please stop eating off the floor. I'll make you another one after the challenge." After saying this. Everyone returned to their respective workplaces while Harold went to change, something that made me laugh with a Junko-style smile while my friends laughed too.
"Can I ask for that too?" I turned to see Lindsay.
"Do you also want an Omurice?" I asked curiously making her nod.
"Sure. No problem, I can prepare one for everyone after the challenge." I said smiling happily before leaving for my workplace just like the girl.
Although this scene was relaxed and innocent, Trent couldn't help but see how Gwen seemed a little sad after seeing me smile and interact so calmly with Lindsay.
"What's wrong Gwen?" The goth girl snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Trent.
"It's nothing, I just think about Benja. I seriously think I screwed up everything, just seeing that he only smiles at him and is kind to everyone and not me, it makes me feel like he wants me to die." Gwen said with some pain and melancholy.
"Well, we stole Benja's magic, he thought we were villains and defended himself, he trusts you more than anyone in the world with his power and you practically didn't fail to mention that Benja almost killed Cody by accident." Lindsay spoke innocently which caused Gwen to hit her head on the table with a depressing aura.
"Thank you, Lindsay. For your honesty." Gwen said through gritted teeth making the bombshell girl smile.
"Just give it time, Gwen. Benja is a good friend, he will forgive you." Trent said with a smile. Both teenagers turned and saw me sharpening a knife before I began to forcefully cut the meat, clearly hearing the sound of bones breaking.
"Do you still think it's harmless? Should I remind you of Noah, Cody, or Chris?" Gwen asked with a raised eyebrow before hearing a cough, turning around she saw Heather standing with her arms crossed.
"Yes, you two are done chatting. I have tasks for all of you." The goth girl rolled her eyes and together with Trent they went to her place.
"Gwen, Lindsay. You two will make the flambéed hazelnut upside-down cake." When Heather finished speaking, both girls who were named put their ingredients on the table.
"Do you know how to do this?" Lindsay asked with curiosity and doubt. Gwen stayed quiet, she wouldn't say it out loud to avoid arguing with Heather, but she didn't know anything about what the other girl wanted.
"Trent, you and Me will make the ribs." The moment the girl went to look for her ingredients she ended up slipping and falling to the floor with a loud thud.
"My ankle!." I immediately stopped cooking and went to where the other team is to help Katie.
"Who left the oranges here!?" Heather yelled angrily before pointing at the completely opened bag of oranges on the ground.
"But, the bag was closed." Beth said in surprise looking at the bag.
"Go to the truck and get more oranges right now." Beth didn't say anything to Heather's orders and simply left, although the farm girl wanted to defend herself against her, her mind was trying to process how a bag of oranges could open on its own.
"Don't worry Katie, I'm almost done." I said as I used anti-inflammatory cream and some bandages to heal the girl's ankle.
"You will have to sit for the rest of the challenge, you won't be able to move your ankle, sorry." I said looking at the girl as she looked at her bandaged foot sadly, everyone seemed to get depressed, except for one person.
"What!? We need help here, use your magic and heal Katie's ankle right now!" Courtney yelled angrily but that didn't scare me.
"No, like I said, I won't use my magic except in case of emergency." I said with my arms crossed but that only made the girl more angry.
"Listen to me you fucking fox, you will do what I said and use your magic or."
"Oh but what?" Suddenly the room turned cold as my eyes changed to a blood red color with dark skulls that left everyone speechless.
"I advise you Courtney not to play with me, I can be kind and harmonious, but even someone who generates love and affection will not hesitate to bring chaos and discord to those who believe they are superior." I said coldly before adjusting my apron and then returning to the kitchen with my team.
"Let's not be careless friends, we have a lot of work to do." I said now in a calmer tone while my team and I continued cooking, on the other hand, Courtney was clenching her fists in anger.
Heather.:
""I won't feel sorry for Katie, accident or not this gives us an advantage against those idiots, and now that the fox is angry he won't use his magic on anyone, this challenge is won." The girl showed a confident smile at the camera.
"Leshawna. You and Beth will make the pineapple skewers." Heather said trying to hide her anger.
"Girl, you leave the appetizers to me. I know how to make a pineapple cocktail that would knock the devil's socks off." Leshawna said with a proud smile making Heather raise a trembling eyebrow.
"How interesting, but I am the Chief Chef here and what I say will be done, and what I said is that you will make pineapple sticks, understood?" Heather stared into the girl's eyes before leaving, on the other hand Leshawna only gave her a death glare before grabbing a knife and cutting the pineapple closest to her.
"Would you tell me your recipe later?" Leshawna turned to look at me and gave me a smile before nodding, after that we all went back to work.
Harold searched the entire room. All the drawers, under the bunk beds and even in the dirty clothes, but he couldn't find any underwear, which was the last thing he was missing.
"How strange, where are they?" Harold then pulled out a tiny thong which he quickly put away with a giggle.
"Calm down girl, it will soon be your turn." Harold continued searching and looking everywhere.
Beth was walking although with difficulty, the girl managed to find boxes full of oranges which was ideal but since she was alone she had to deal with all the weight of the boxes.
"Beth, hurry up! Those oranges are for today!" The farm girl could clearly hear Heather's screams and she wasted no time before starting to run, but by accident the girl would end up slipping on an orange before hitting her head against a tree.
"Shit." Beth slowly got up before hearing a buzzing noise and looking up she saw in horror a panel of bees that fell on top of her covering her in honey and to make her luck worse, the bees were completely furious.
"Double shit!!." The farm girl did not hesitate and ran away quickly while the bees followed her.
Things in my team's kitchen were fine. Owen and Geoff had left a slow cooker with the cheese and were now preparing artisan bread for the garnish, Bridgette and DJ were doing a great job with the Omurice, they had improved greatly. On the other hand, Duncan and Katie work hard on the macarons, however Courtney seemed to supervise the punk boy too closely.
"Benja, brother. Could you try the dough?" Geoff asked as I walked over to the table to help with the homemade bread.
"The dough is still sticky, add more flour and make sure you use the right amounts. The dough should be soft and elastic until it no longer sticks to your hands." I said before starting to help the boys with the dough.
"You like him, don't you?"
Bridgette seemed to have been pulled out of her thoughts, she had been staring blankly at Geoff without realizing it and her face turned red with embarrassment. She internally seemed relieved that the party boy hadn't noticed.
"Do I notice much?" The surfer girl asked embarrassedly looking at DJ.
"Very much." Bridgette and DJ looked at me and saw me grab a white flower from my hair.
"Love is a very powerful magic, we cannot avoid it and its strength is greater than that of a giant." I glanced at Geoff before looking at DJ and winking to give him a sign that the boy understood.
"Geoff. Help Bridgette with the Omurice, DJ I need your help with the cheese for the fondue." The boy and I walked away laughing while the surfer girl turned red when the party boy came over to help with the rice.
"You know what? You look good cooking dinner, a bit like the very sexy mom of one of my friends." A deep silence was present in the place. We all suddenly fell on our backs like in an anime along with a depressive aura, on the other hand Bridgette was forcedly smiling with a trembling eyebrow.
Me.:
"I swear by the most sacred thing of The Nile family, that I have never heard anything so shameful and at the same time so stupid in my life." My face was covered by my hands due to the immense shame that was still in my mind.
"Geoff. Better go back to Owen and help him with the dough please." The party boy left while Bridgette looked at me with glassy eyes.
"A magical power, right? What can you explain to me about that?" The girl asked while I shook my head.
"I have no words." Was all I could say before resuming my work with the rest of the team.
Time passed normally. It was already noon and things were going excellent for both teams. The Omurice wasn't that difficult to finish as a main dish so we left it alone, while that was happening, on the Screaming Gophers team, Gwen and Trent were putting sauce on the ribs when suddenly they heard someone enter and to the horror of the team , it was Beth, who was covered in bites.
"Where the hell were you!? Did you go grow those oranges or what?" Heather asked angrily looking at the farm girl but that also bothered Beth.
"For your information. I was attacked by a swarm of bees, they chased me for hours until they got tired and then I had to pick the oranges in the same place where they were!" The farm girl yelled in anger and exhaustion while Heather rolled her eyes.
"Anyway, put that box of oranges wherever it is and get to work." That was the last straw for Beth.
"Here's your fucking box of oranges!" In a quick and angry movement, Beth threw the box of oranges at Heather, but the girl managed to dodge it, but unfortunately the heavy box full of fruits managed to hit a target. Trent's head, causing the musician boy to fall dryly to the ground.
"Trent!" When I heard Gwen scream I immediately ran to where the rival team was to help the boy.
"He is unconscious, fortunately he does not seem to have damage to his skull or bleeding, he will recover but will be very sore when he wakes up. It would be better for him to rest." I said before bandaging Trent's head and then freezing a bag of water, once I finished that, I lifted the boy in my arms and we left the dining room.
Once I got to the cabin I was going to put Trent in bed but when I moved the sheets I was surprised to see scorpions on the mattress, with the help of vines I managed to remove the invaders before putting the teenager's body on the bed, after so I grabbed a paper and pencil before putting a stamp on the bed that disappeared instantly.
"The protective seal should be enough to keep any pests away. Mm, something is very wrong. This is more than just coincidences." I said seriously before grabbing a paper and writing another stamp but this time I held the paper in my hand.
"Show me." Suddenly the seal began to glow and out of nowhere a dark fire consumed the paper completely. That surprised me and at the same time worried me.
"Dark fire. Isi told me that when that happens, it's angry spirits." I began to open drawers and look in beds along with the help of a magic sphere to analyze the purity of the objects in search of the cursed object.
"Hey, Benja. Do you hear me?" I stopped investigating when Duncan's voice came over my communicator.
"Loud and clear, what's going on?" I asked curiously leaving the cabin.
"Come to the kitchen now, we really need you here." The punk girl's words confused me as I entered the dining room.
"I don't understand you Duncan, why they need it so urgently...In the name of the great Pharaoh!" I screamed in pure horror.
We were all watching it, unfortunately. Harold returned to the dining room but wearing nothing but a tiny thong. I can swear that at this moment I saw in everyone's eyes that they wanted with all their might to tear out their own eyes.
Me.:
"Ben, Parasoul, Mr. Reyes, Reinhart. I pray by the most sacred part of my soul that you have please covered the eyes of Peacock, Umbrella, Monaca and Marie." I said in pure horror looking at the camera with fear and worry.
"Harold! This is completely unacceptable, explain yourself right now!" I shouted seriously but at the same time nauseous. We had to take a break because unfortunately part of the team had been asked to go outside to wash their eyes and get some air.
"I don't know! Who was the funny guy who stole my shorts?" The nerdy boy asked but he was then imprisoned by my thorny vines.
"No excuses! I won't allow this kind of behavior in my kitchen, go put something decent and don't you dare come back with that shit again!" Harold nodded his head in terror before running away. The moment he left, the boys and I started laughing out loud.
"Oh man this joke is going up, you sounded very convincing Benja." Duncan said as he slowly recovered from his burst of laughter.
"All thanks to my school's drama club." I said with a smile but then stayed silent.
"Hey, we cleared up stealing Harold's underwear, not his pants. What happened to that?" I asked curiously and then saw Owen chuckle.
"Don't worry, I hung them on that tree right there." When we all went to look we saw with open eyes a bear tearing and tearing the bag along with Harold's pants.
"Geoff, prepare the second phase of the prank. DJ, Owen, make the evidence disappear, so that nothing remains." I said stunned. The boys just nodded their heads in shock before continuing with our work. This certainly wasn't in the plan.
With Katie and Trent gone, tension was more present than ever on the Screaming Gophers team. Everyone struggled to complete their dishes, each with varying difficulty. But Gwen could still tolerate Lindsay's innocence, Leshawna and Beth were begging at this moment to have been hit by the orange crate from earlier. And it's because of one person in particular.
"These slices are completely uneven, switch places with Leshawna." Beth internally regretted not being allergic to bees because she now wished she had been knocked out instead of being scolded for the millionth time by Heather.
"What are you talking about? They seem fine to me." Leshawna said before grabbing Beth's shoulder as the farm girl went to walk to the other side of the table.
"Oh, hello? I didn't become head chef because of a miserable presentation." Heather said although that caused a quivering eyebrow from Leshawna.
"Oh really? I'm so sorry, Gordon Ramsay. I didn't know we were in one of your restaurants, I'm sorry, we don't want to lose your Michelin stars." A murderous aura appeared on both girls as they looked at each other with disgust and anger.
"What a big mouth you have, bitch. But I remind you that I'm in charge because I have more knowledge in cooking than you." Heather said with a smile but that made Leshawna even more angry.
"No! You became Chief Chef because you asked for it, and I don't care if you're an expert in cooking, you're just a fucking bitch who instead of helping, you're an ungrateful whore to everyone." Nobody noticed it, but if they had noticed, they would have been seeing rays coming out of the eyes of both girls.
"And one more thing, aren't you fooling anyone with your white apron that you're wearing? That doesn't make you superior to us."
"Are you a player on our team or not? Because all I see is you shaking your big ass in those tight pants while complaining about everything."
"What did you say, you fucking whore!? For your information, I'm part of the team, and I can't cut these fucking pineapples because I'm allergic!" Leshawna screamed with so much anger that she was showing what little patience she had left.
"Just cut the damn pineapples. Now!" Heather yelled sharply. With a trembling hand, Leshawna gripped a knife tightly, much to Heather's satisfaction.
"Alright girls, keep it up." The moment Heather left the dark skinned girl she attacked the table hard and a loud scream was heard. Much to the relief of Leshawna but the horror of Beth, the knife was just inches away from piercing the farm girl's hand.
"I am sorry sister." Leshawna laughed sheepishly before she began to cut the pine cones, Beth could clearly hear the brunette girl silently swearing and cursing before she began scratching her arms when a rash appeared on her arms.
"Oh great, very good girl. Now explain to me what I do with this." Heather turned around only to see the rash on Leshawna's hands.
"It's not my problem, scratch yourself when the challenge is over." Those words made Leshawna want to lunge at Heather but Lindsay, Beth and Gwen were strong enough to stop her.
"Everyone keep working. I'll take care of it here." I walked to the rival team's table and took herbs and a molcajete from my apron.
"What will you do, fox boy?" Leshawna asked while I started using the molcajete along with the herbs.
"I'm making a medicine for the rash. The mint will even help to give freshness." I grabbed a wooden spoon and started spreading the medicine on Leshawna's arms and suddenly the rash disappeared.
"Baby, you're amazing. Where did you learn all this?" The girl asked while I put everything in my apron.
"I learned it from many people. They gave me so much knowledge about both magical and traditional medicine, there are times when I think I am capable of being a doctor with everything I learn from them." I said with a shy smile remembering the girls and even Zenyatta, Moira and Baptiste.
"Pss, presumptuous." A throbbing vein appeared in Leshawna and we all looked at Heather who was busy cooking.
"Do you happen to know how to perform vocal cord surgery?" The girl asked with a smile making me sneakily look at a scalpel hidden in one of my pigtails.
"With or without anesthesia?" We all smiled as Heather seemed to tremble before pulling herself together.
"Don't you have your things to do?" The girl asked with annoyance as I left.
Geoff snuck out of the kitchen and sneaked a glance at Harold who was entering the bathroom still wearing his small thong. The party boy walked and slowly pulled out a bag from under Duncan's bed that had the nerdy boy's dirty underwear. Geoff opened the bag and gagged before using a stick to put the underwear on the nerdy boy's bed. before quickly leaving.
"Phase two ready." The boys and I smiled at Geoff before coughing to get serious when Harold walked back into the kitchen.
"You still haven't changed? You haven't learned, right? Do I have to severely correct you?" I asked angrily as I looked at my reflection in one of the knives on the table.
"What's my fault!? Stop making fun and give back my fucking clothes!" Harold shouted. The nerdy boy was more angry than scared at this point.
"It's not our fault, at least we do wash our clothes, unlike you." Duncan said with his arms crossed but I rolled my eyes in irritation.
"Forget it. This is a fucking waste of time, we don't know what happened to your pants, you probably wore them all but Geoff says he found some of your boxers under the bed. Go put those on before I burn you along with that disgusting thing." I said annoyed as my hair lit up in a blue fire making Harold leave, but he never noticed that we were laughing behind his back while Geoff entered the kitchen through the window.
Harold entered the cabin and as if he saw the holy grail on his bed was a pair of boxers with orange stains. The nerdy boy ignored the stains and grabbed his underwear with a huge smile before putting them on.
"Sweet relief." The boy's five seconds of happiness suddenly turned into agony before he began to scream loudly.
"My buns are burning!!." Suddenly we all saw Harold run to the dock before jumping into the water. The boys and I couldn't stand it and started laughing out loud, I swear to the monsters that my ribs almost broke in our burst of laughter.
"Sons of bitches!" Harold shouted angrily but then noticed that I closed my eyes and my hair changed to navy blue before glowing a neon shade.
The water began to bubble and to the nerd boy's horror, three fins came out of the water, Harold screamed and started swimming while the three fins chased him frantically.
"Wasn't it a lot?" DJ asked curiously but I shook my head.
"I talked to the sharks. I made sure they only chased him, they promised they won't bite Harold. Come on, I think the bread is ready." The boys and I smiled happily and returned to the kitchen.
The sunset was already present among us. Trent recovered although the headache was more than present, after reporting everything to Chris, the host allowed the musical boy to be with Katie, both had obtained immunity due to their respective accidents.
"Well? What's going on here?" Heather walked to the table where Lindsay was analytically observing the cake that had not yet been flamed.
"We used all the flambé base, but it still doesn't flambé." Lindsay said looking at Heather making the girl pinch her nose in irritation.
"Did you even set it on fire?" That simple question caused Lindsay to start laughing sheepishly and a pink tint to her cheeks due to her embarrassment.
Heather.:
"It's like talking to a wall. It's clear that her brain went straight to her chest." That was Heather's comment, looking at the camera with her arms crossed.
"Very good girls. Listen, these are the instructions for flambéing. One of them happened, you put the flambéing liquid in the candy, something you've probably already done." Gwen and Lindsay listened attentively to Heather's explanation although the goth girl did so reluctantly.
"Step two. You set it on fire." The girl took out a lighter and when she brought it close to the cake, a loud explosion occurred causing Heather and part of her clothes to catch fire along with the cake.
"Heather!" Lindsay and Gwen were quick and began to put out the fire before watching a strong jet of water extinguish the cake and then hit Heather.
"Lindsay. How much flaming liquid did you use?" Gwen asked as I ran to see Heather.
"All?." The goth girl opened her eyes in horror and quickly grabbed the container only to see that all the liquid was, in fact, completely used.
"Let me see Heather, please." I tried to get closer but the girl pushed me roughly.
"Get away from me, flea fox. I don't need your shit." Heather said angrily but then the girl noticed that both the girls and I were horrified while others were fighting not to burst into laughter.
"In the name of Anubis." I whispered in fear as Gwen threw the flaming liquid away.
"What's wrong with them?" Heather asked with her arms crossed.
"Umm, you look different than you did before." The goth girl and I covered Lindsay's mouth when the bombshell girl spoke. Heather's eyes widened in horror and she grabbed the nearest frying pan before looking at her reflection.
"Clawdeen, Clawd, Howleen, Clawdia. Do the same as me." I immediately covered my ears and was just in time when Heather let out a scream so piercing that she sent all the birds on the island flying.
"Lindsay!" The bomb girl hid behind me immediately when she could sense the imminent danger, it was hard not to feel that, after all we are talking about an enraged girl now with no eyebrows and wielding a frying pan.
"Brainless bitch, shit. Don't you think!? Look what you've done!" Heather grabbed the plate with the cake and before pointing at her eyebrows.
"But..."
"Shut up! If you want to be useful, move your big fucking head and go to the cabin to get my makeup case right now!" Heather shouted angrily. Before anyone could speak, we all saw Lindsay run out of the dining room without looking back.
Me.:
"A nightmare spell I think was too soft for her. Maybe a worse one would help, if not. Well, Nefera's cursed relics will do too." I said annoyed as she flipped through a book on curses.
"Girl. You really went too far this time." Leshawna said with her arms crossed, looking at Heather with annoyance.
"Shut up and keep cutting pineapples, I'm not in the mood!" Heather shouted before stomping away but then she tripped on a root making her fall to the ground.
"Benja?" Gwen flashed me a smile and I returned it.
"And I was soft." The goth girl and I shared a giggle before returning to our work on our respective teams.
"Do you already have phase three ready?" I whispered to Duncan making the punk boy laugh.
"Perfect." At that moment we heard someone enter and saw Harold coming in wearing his pajamas.
"Are you going to sleep? What are you doing wearing that?" I asked seriously although internally I was laughing.
"It's the only thing I have left. So if all you want to do is see me naked, give me your best shot." Harold already seemed resigned as he approached the table waiting for any attack.
"Relax now, Harold. Look, Benja asked Owen to make sandwiches for everyone, come on, eat and relax." DJ said as the big teenager walked up to us with a tray full of sandwiches.
"Great, I'm hungry." I started to smile like Junko and my friends too when the nerdy boy grabbed a sandwich and started eating it, both of our cheeks swollen from laughing as we watched Harold's happiness crumble.
"This tastes like sweat and lotion. It's the worst sandwich I've ever had in my life." The nerdy boy said before noticing something sliding between the lettuce and tomatoes. When he took out that secret ingredient, he was horrified to see that she had eaten one of his dirty underwear.
"Shit!." Everyone in the dining room started laughing, even the cameramen and the rival team, I was surprised to see that Heather was also laughing while Harold threw the bitten underwear and the sandwich on the floor.
"Very good, very good was enough." I slowly calmed down and walked to where Harold was.
"Listen Harold. Chris would have changed you to our team and now you sleep with us, but what we will not tolerate is your lack of hygiene in the cabin. So, if you promise to do the laundry like everyone else and keep your dirty underwear away of us, no one will ever play a joke on you again. Understand?" I asked with my arms making the nerdy boy sigh.
"Until then, we won't give you your clothes back until you admit the truth, man." Geoff said with a smile. Although internally we all agreed that we should replace Harold's clothes because of the bear.
Time passed. The Omurice and fondue were ready along with the cold cuts and homemade bread, while we were all now busy with the macarons I couldn't help but notice that Lindsay hadn't returned.
"It's been two hours. The challenge ends in one hour, where is Lindsay?" I asked with curiosity and concern at the same time.
"I don't know, but when I left to go to the bathroom I could hear something in the other cabin." Bridgette said making me sigh.
"Geoff, you're in charge. I'll be back soon." The party boy nodded at what I said before leaving and walking to the other cabin.
When I got to the cabin I could hear sobbing inside, I sighed upset and sad before knocking on the door.
"Lindsay, are you in there?" The noise stopped for a moment.
"No. I'm, umm. I'm just a squirrel." I smiled at the innocent response and entered the cabin only to see Lindsay hugging her legs on the bed.
"Lindsay. Are you crying?" I approached until I sat near her.
"I always ruin everything. That's why I don't have friends, they always tell me that I'm stupid and pathetic, without a brain. Everyone tells me that when I try to squirm. At school, at home, they always tell me that I should just improve but I know that they think the same as everyone around me."
"I came here to show that I'm not just a pretty face, I came to show that I can improve. But it's not working, I keep making everything worse, and surely now I'm out of the alliance with Heather." Lindsay continued crying making me sigh.
"We're not all perfect, Lindsay." The girl looked at me intently and wiped away her tears.
"Look at me. Do you think I'm perfect? I'm far from that, and look at my magic. I didn't master this when I was born, I learned to use my magic over the years. That involved trial and error, for example " My hair changed to a blonde color and slowly my appearance changed until I looked the same as Lindsay which amazed the girl.
"My magic changes shapes. I didn't achieve this in one night, it was difficult months because I have to fuse my blood magic and mold my body using water magic. Big mistakes occurred like changing my voice to the wrong one or the wrong hair color " I slowly returned to my normal body.
"And I have a long way to go. Many things in fact, and no matter the challenge, we always have to fight even bleed to break our limits, because life is not easy, life is like a mountain and reaching the top is difficult, there will always be stumbles and falls, but the point is that we must always stand up and learn from those mistakes so as not to make them again in the present."
"Lindsay. The path you chose is not difficult or impossible, you just may need help because no one can achieve things alone. A teacher of mine always tells me, failure is acceptable, giving up is not. There is beauty in our actions, they are necessary a hundred times to learn and a thousand to understand." I looked Lindsay in the eyes and smiled.
"Those who ask for help will always get it. There is no weakness in asking for help. Lindsay, if you need help, understand that you have friends here, you don't need Heather, and you don't need an alliance. Gwen, Leshawna, Beth, Trent, me, everyone We are your friends here, and we will always support you." The bombshell girl smiled and hugged me tightly, making me hug her back.
"Thank you Benja. I love that we are friends." Lindsay said through tears making me smile.
"Always. Now let's go back to the kitchen, we have a challenge pending and we only have half an hour left. I promise that when this is over, I will teach you how to cook and make a good soufflé." I said smiling making the girl smile before we left together.
When we returned to the dining room I couldn't help but notice a certain smile on my companions as I went to finish the macarons.
"So, how did it go, Casanova?" Duncan asked with a teasing smile making me blush a lot but I also smiled back.
"I don't know. How about you, tough guy? I didn't know you had a chicken heart for Courtney." Everyone made shocked sounds and some whistled while the punk boy and the girl continued working with a blush.
"It's about time. Give me that." Heather approached Lindsay but Leshawna was quick to be the first to grab the makeup from the bombshell girl's hands.
"Hey, give me that!" Leshawna threw the makeup into Beth's hands and the farm girl threw it into Lindsay's hands again.
"To the quick freezer!" The bombshell turned around and she could see Leshawna opening the freezer door. Then a snap was heard and Lindsay noticed Heather extending her hand to her. The girl thought and she remembered our talk before throwing the makeup into the refrigerator.
"No!." Heather shot like an arrow to the freezer to grab her makeup but then she heard a loud noise and when she turned around she was horrified to see that she was locked inside the freezer.
"Do you think Heather got angry?" Lindsay's response was quick and forceful when they heard the other girl knock on the door, everyone looked out and saw the girl but they couldn't hear her screams or her words that they quickly deduced were insults.
"That white girl needs to cool her temper. Let's take her out when the challenge is over, ugh. Sister, do me a favor and turn on the air conditioning, this heat makes me sweat like a pig." Leshawna said before going to the table with the rest of the team leaving Lindsay behind.
Lindsay walked up to the thermostat but she was confused when she saw two different thermostats.
"Twenty minutes campers. You have twenty minutes left!" Chris's voice echoed throughout the room causing Lindsay to turn the thermostat on the right all the way down before running away.
"What are you doing? Be careful with the filling and the cookie, they should all be the same." Courtney said seriously looking at Duncan's Macarons.
"You know what? You'd be funnier if you were so uptight." The punk boy said with a mocking smile, that was a strong blow to Courtney that now she was surprised and offended at the same time.
"I'm the calmest person I know." We all rolled our eyes at that statement.
"Oh yeah? Be careful!" Duncan unexpectedly threw the Macarons cream in Courtney's face before starting to laugh. The girl didn't sit idly by and threw the frosting in the punk boy's face making the girl laugh.
Duncan.:
"That girl, Courtney. She really drives me crazy, and that's what I like in a girl." Duncan said looking at the camera with a smile.
Courtney.:
"Me and Duncan? That will never happen. When the pigs come back. When hell freezes over. Not in a million years."
"Sister, are you going to be there all day? There are people here looking to let off steam too." Leshawna's voice was heard clearly from outside the confessional.
"As I said. That will never happen." Courtney affirmed her words again with her arms crossed looking at the camera.
The night arrives. After hours of hard work we all finished cooking, obviously we had to clean everything otherwise Chef would kill us. While everyone was resting, Beth and I were organizing the table and decorating the place, from candles to flowers, but a certain object that the farm girl placed in a circle of flowers caught my attention.
"Your dinner will be here shortly sir." Beth said with a smile as I used my fire breath to light the candles.
"I'll be back with the first course, sir." I said before bowing and then heading to the kitchen.
I felt proud of everyone when I entered the kitchen. The Omurice was perfect, the fondue with its respective sausages were ready and the Macarons were intact.
"Alright we'll do this. Bridgette, DJ, you two bring the Omurice. Owen, Geoff, Harold, you bring the fondue along with the cold cuts, and lastly, Courtney and Duncan will bring the Macarons." My team smiled and everyone nodded before the first course came out to Chris's table.
The Screaming Gophers table didn't look bad either. The ribs, the skewers and the cake. Everything seemed intact and ready to serve, Leshawna had a proud smile looking at the table.
"You know what's the best thing about this? That it was so much easier to do without that bossy bitch Heather." The girl had a huge smile while everyone nodded.
"Lindsay, friend. Take care of the food, Beth you will bring the entree, I will bring the ribs and Gwen, you and Lindsay will bring the cake." Everyone nodded in agreement, although the goth girl and the bomb girl looked at the cake doubtfully.
Bridgette and DJ were currently sweating profusely watching Chris eating the Omurice, the scene made them feel as if Gordon Ramsay himself was in front of them.
"Alright guys. Now bring the main course." Chris said with a smile. Bridgette signaled and Owen along with DJ and Harold entered the room before setting out the fondue along with the bread and cold cuts.
My team now watched in horror as Chris threaded the bread and some sausage onto a fork before dipping it into the cheese, the host taking a close look at the fork before putting it in his mouth and then swallowing before looking at my friends.
"On the scale of one to ten. You all earned a fifteen!" Everyone could breathe a sigh of relief and began to celebrate with a huge smile.
"Now Screaming Gophers' turn. Let's see what they have." Beth smiled and approached Chris with the tray carrying the pineapple skewers.
Inside the kitchen. Lindsay was checking her nails and constantly looking at the refrigerator, the bombshell wondering if Heather was okay. A lot of time had passed and it was surprising that the girl hadn't made some noise.
"I wonder how Heather is doing." With that question on her mind, Lindsay got up and walked to the freezer while on the other hand, an unexpected guest seemed to smell the barbecue on her ribs.
"Mmm, very good. Healthy, fresh, not bad as a halftime meal. Now for the main course." Chris said with a smile making Leshawna smile.
"Oh buddy, you better stay seated because those ribs we made will make you fall on your back." Suddenly a loud noise alerted everyone and when Leshawna entered she went from astonishment to anger when she saw a bear devouring the ribs.
"Your dirty flea mat." The bear sensed the terror and could see Leshawna armed with a rolling pin and a kitchen knife.
"Umm, hey Leshawna." Gwen tried to speak but suddenly everyone moved when the bear burst into the room and ran away in terror, darting through the dining room window and running out into the woods as Leshawna looked out in clear anger.
"You better run or I'm going to cook bear steaks with you!" The girl shouted angrily, watching the animal flee.
"Fun fact. Bear meat tastes almost like beef." I said looking at my friends. I remembered that Zarya always prepared recipes with bear meat.
"Well? Where is the main course?" Leshawna bit her lip and turned to look at everyone, the girl went to the kitchen and then came back. It was impossible not to feel sorry, in front of all of us were the rib bones and attached to one of the bones, a sad and abandoned piece of meat.
"You know, I feel like if it hadn't been the bear, it would have been Owen." Duncan said looking at the big teen making the aforementioned teen laugh sheepishly.
"Yeah, well. I think there's still meat in there." Leshawna muttered embarrassedly, pointing at the sad piece of meat. Chris grabbed the leftover piece before eating it.
"You know what? I ate worse things, two points." Leshawna sighed slightly in relief while Lindsay screamed with excitement.
"Wow, calm down. Remember that Killer Bass is leading by four points ahead of you. Now let's get to what matters, dessert." The host said with a smile. Duncan, Courtney, Lindsay, and Gwen went to their respective kitchens before returning with the desserts they made.
Chris held one of the Macarons in his fingers before eating it. Courtney was sweating before she felt a hand on her shoulder, when she looked she noticed that it was Duncan, they both smiled hopefully without realizing that I smiled a little perversely.
"I'm not a big fan of French desserts. But they did it well, I'll give them six points." Although disappointed, my team and I smiled, happy to at least know that they didn't taste bad and at least they weren't low points.
"With twenty-one points ahead of everyone, Screaming Gophers are going to need a miraculous ten if they want to catch Killer Bass." The host watched Lindsay walk to the table before placing the cake in front of the host.
"I have to say, this dessert looks like a total winner." Lindsay and Gwen looked hopeful along with Leshawna and Beth, but that hope vanished in the blink of an eye when Chris buried the knife in the cake and like a puff, the cake disappeared into ashes leaving everyone stunned.
"Oh man, that doesn't look good." Leshawna said regretfully while Chris stabbed his fork into a burnt piece before eating it. But at one moment or another, the host choked and began to suffocate.
"Hang on buddy!" In a quick movement, Owen hugged Chris and began to squeeze hard until we all saw the burnt piece coming out of the host's mouth, leaving the man to breathe again.
"What the hell does this mean!?" The host held the burnt piece looking at Screaming Gophers.
"It was Heather's recipe." Lindsay's words were a huge echo in her brain and suddenly the girl screamed in horror.
"Heather! She's still in the freezer!" The moment the bombshell girl ran back to the kitchen I followed behind her along with everyone else.
"It does not open!." Lindsay screamed desperately trying to open the door but she only managed to break the handle to everyone's horror.
"Everyone back!" I shouted before making a scythe made of bones appear, with a quick movement I cut the door and the cold soon filled the entire room.
There was. In the middle of the cold, closed room, Heather was lying on the floor and hugging herself weakly. We were all shocked to see that the girl had blue skin and was not moving in the slightest.
"Heather!" Geoff and I went inside before taking the girl outside.
"Everyone give me space, now!" I laid Heather down on the floor and immediately began checking on her.
"Damn, this is horribly wrong. So much time exposed to the cold greatly lowered her body heat, literally her entire body is like a corpse now." I immediately picked up Heather and carried her to the table before laying her down, immediately my eyes glowed and spheres of fire surrounded the girl.
"What was Heather doing in the refrigerator?" I asked seriously while I began to check her pulse.
"We locked her in the freezer." We all turned and saw Lindsay who had her mouth covered.
"You what!?" Everyone was scared when my hair lit up in an incandescent blue fire while my pigtails broke, leaving my hair floating like snakes.
"It was just a joke." Leshawna tried to justify herself but it only made my eyes turn into skulls.
"Expose a girl to cold temperatures without caution, leave her abandoned and die. Is that funny!?" Everyone didn't come closer now when they saw me raising my voice so much that it seemed like I was roaring rather than speaking.
"But Benja..."
"I want everyone out of here. Now!" I let out a loud roar causing everyone to leave the room in fear. Gwen stopped to look at me before quickly leaving.
Two hours passed. Chris had to cut the recording due to the strong content that had been shown. He accepted that the program was for older people but showing a person in a critical condition was a limit that would even lead to a legendary lawsuit. No one dared to speak or move, the host kept looking at Screaming Gophers out of the corner of his eye and sighing in annoyance.
Everyone suddenly heard the door and saw me walk out with Heather in my arms. The girl was still unconscious but her skin had already returned to normal.
"How is she?." Chris asked making me sigh in annoyance.
"She will live. But if I had delayed any longer, her heart would have stopped permanently. My fire magic managed to make her temperature stable and together with my herbal magic I managed to thaw her insides as well, she will only have a cold. I placed her a seal of fire so she will be constantly warm without the need for a coat." I walked to the cabin and slowly laid the girl on the bed before leaving.
"Benja." I turned around and was angry to see Screaming Gophers.
"Us..."
"Keep your words, Leshawna. I can't believe what you've done, I made jokes today but not with the aim of hurting, my friends and I made jokes on Harold but we never played with his life. And you do this to Heather?" I recognize that she is not the kindest or most sociable girl at camp, but leaving her in a freezer at low temperatures? That is cruel." I said coldly before looking at Gwen. The goth girl gulped when she saw me.
"I was wrong to trust you. First it was my magic and now someone's life? I thought you were reasonable and more responsible, Gwen." The goth girl seemed hurt by what I told her.
"I am so angry with all of you. I can't look at your faces after this, from now on this will remain as it should always remain, as rivals. I will only come to you if your lives or health are in danger, I seriously need to rethink my loyalty to you. Murderers." Everyone remained silent at what I said, and no one dared to intervene.
"Can I at least leave this to Heather so she can recover?" Beth asked fearfully showing the totem in her hands. A whisper reached my ears and immediately one of my tails took the object from the farm girl.
"Benja, what's wrong?" Geoff asked as I stared at the totem pole before looking at Beth.
"Where did you get this from? Answer!" The farm girl jumped back at my sudden shout.
"From the island of bones!" Everyone was horrified but the most scared was Chris.
"The island of bones!? The island that I explicitly said that they should not take anything from there for anything in the world!?." Beth's fear now greatly intensified at Chris's words.
"But it's just a totem." The girl tried to defend herself with fear but I shook my head.
"It's more than just that. This totem has something else. They are voices." I said looking at the object in my hands.
"Voices? And what do they say?" Leshawna asked curiously. Suddenly my hair glowed a spectral green and so did my eyes.
"Many years ago. The island of bones was not as it was known before, within the thick forests lived an indigenous tribe. Most of them were farmers or sculptors, the few men who remained were trained as warriors in the art of combat, the women they helped with the crops and the children ran happily through the grass. Despite the wild animals, the warriors were always ready to defend their lands."
"Everything was peace and harmony when suddenly people from the outside world arrived. The villagers and the King of that time looked amazed and amazed at the impressive gifts that these people brought to the island, the newcomers offered countless gifts in exchange for staying, The King did not object and accepted the offer. As the days went by, everyone made sure to provide maximum comfort and kindness to the arrivals."
"But what no one believed was that one night all that would end. The guests showed bottles with a delicious and intoxicating substance to the natives who drank gladly without realizing a serious mistake, which they would later regret. The trumpets of the apocalypse resounded, the fire I embraced the forests and at one moment, the horsemen of the apocalypse came out to kill the indigenous people."
"The warriors were suddenly and overwhelmingly overwhelmed, the women kidnapped and the children abandoned as they watched their parents being slaughtered while the fire consumed everything around them, reducing everything to ashes. Leaving behind, a totem, the totem that a kind sculptor I created the newcomers. With blood staining his creation, man gathered his breath and shouted with great anger."
"May ruin and chaos come to anyone who dares to take anything from this island, may their screams of torture torment their ancestors and may the fires of hell consume their souls. So be it!" My eyes and hair stopped shining and I looked at everyone with seriousness and amazement.
"In short. The totem is cursed along with the souls of everyone on the island, Beth, what you brought to the island was a curse of death and chaos on everyone by stealing this. You provoked the wrath of the dead." The farm girl was now more terrified after hearing everything.
"What I can do!?." Beth screamed in panic while I heard whispers.
"The ghosts say that if you seek forgiveness, return what you stole while their anger is calm, for now." I said seriously. The farm girl didn't hesitate and grabbed the totem before running away.
"Very well. After everything that happened, Killer Bass takes today's victory against Screaming Gophers, Twenty-one to twelve. Killer Bass, your reward will be a beautiful dinner under the stars prepared by our good friend Chef." Chris said before pointing out to the cook who was smiling and showing off huge trays before heading to the dock.
"Screaming Gophers. I know they want to eliminate Heather but she's temporarily safe, tell me, do you have anyone else you want to leave tonight?" The host asked with a smile looking at Leshawna, Lindsay and Gwen.
"I like the farm girl. But bringing a death curse on us is not something I want." Heavily, the few active members of Screaming Gophers nodded sadly.
"Excellent. That means, Killer Bas, counting Harold as a temporary member, you have eight members in total. Screaming Gophers, you in total have five sad members." My team celebrated, unlike me, who stayed silent. Today had been a wonderful day, and to be honest, I didn't feel very good about celebrating.
"Come on man, food is waiting for us." Geoff said with a smile but I shook my head.
"Go eat if you want, I have things to do now." Was all I said before leaving while my team and the rival team looked at me, some with curiosity and others with concern.
While my team ate, I went to change and then start walking around the camp placing purifying seals. While the place didn't feel heavier since Beth took the totem, I didn't want to risk it so I started purifying every possible place the curse was present. As I was about to leave the kitchen, I heard something and turned around to see Gwen.
"Haha, wow. Umm, it's like the exorcist only with magic, huh?" Gwen smiled nervously trying to break the ice but I turned to continue with my work, which made the girl sigh in annoyance.
"Look. I understand that you are angry with me, I admit it, yes, I screwed up! I screwed up and big time, I know I ruined everything, you always had high expectations of me and great trust, but now I tell you, what is my fault regarding about your magic!? Yes, I admit that what I did with Heather must make you angry, but your magic!. Explain yourself!" The girl saw me hit the wall before I approached her.
"I did it because unlike everyone else I thought you were more trustworthy! A serious and determined girl who is cold and hard, someone you don't want to mess with, I saw you as someone who takes things seriously and wasn't up for nonsense!."
"Do you really believe all that!?"
"Don't know!."
A deep silence fell as I dropped into a dining room chair before sighing and holding my head.
"I don't even know what I'm doing anymore. I never asked to come here in the first place, I don't know why I'm here or what I should do here, I'm lost, I don't understand what to do for everyone to be okay or for me to be okay, I don't know if I'm okay meeting everyone's expectations or not. My head hurts." I said tiredly and frustratedly. The goth girl sighed and sat down in front of me.
"You don't know me, I don't know you either. We're just starting to get to know each other, it continues to amaze me because you gave me part of your magic, did you ever think that would be very dangerous?" The goth girl asked making me sigh.
"I was surrounded for a long time by people with unique abilities and even with monsters, I think that so much time being surrounded by magic and action made me forget that not all humans are strong. I forgot that you are not strong physically or mentally, it's just that "I think I was so scared when I heard about the bears that I thought giving you a slight amount of magic would keep you safe. I think I was foolish to give you more power without thinking about the obvious consequences." Gwen sighed and shifted in her seat.
"I'm to blame too. I think I forgot the most important thing about a hero and that is that with all power comes great responsibility, I guess I didn't meet any of your expectations, heh." I lifted my head to see Gwen.
"Gwen, don't think about that. I think you're amazing. If you let me train you, maybe you'd even use my magic more often. I was the one who started it all. You just wanted to help and you didn't know anything about this. I should never have been so hard on you." " The goth girl smiled a little and looked at me.
"I think it's better this way. But maybe I would like it, I admit it feels good to have fire between your fingers." We both smiled for a moment and I sighed before speaking again.
"I'm sorry for being so hard on you Gwen, I shouldn't have gotten mad at you like that." The girl smiled and took my hand which surprised me and made me blush slightly.
"Me too. Sorry Benja for everything, about the magic and Heather. I never wanted things to get out of control like this but I'm happy that everything is better now." The girl noticed her hand and quickly moved it and looked away with a blush making her and I smile shyly.
"Umm, I'm leaving. Aren't you going to eat with your classmates?" Gwen asked curiously looking at me.
"No. I think I'll stay here a little longer, I'm not very hungry, maybe I'll make some coffee. Aren't you hungry?" My response came in a growl from Gwen's stomach making the girl blush before turning beet red as she saw me laugh a little.
"I think there must be ingredients in the kitchen, if you want I can cook something for you." I said smiling as I put on an apron.
"Come on Benja, you don't have to do this."
"I want to be. Besides, it's my way of making up for my mistake in being so cold to you, please." I said before turning into my Kitsune form and making cute little eyes which was a hard blow to Gwen.
"Son of a bitch, that's playing dirty. Fine, you win, but I'll help you." The goth girl pats my head before I return to my normal form and we went to the kitchen without realizing that Trent was behind the door.
"By the way, I think you look better in that maid uniform you had on."
"Are you serious?."
"Yes, elegant and adorable." The goth girl and I laughed with blushing cheeks, not realizing that Trent closed the door behind us.
"You could wear a maid costume if you want, Gwen."
"Over my dead body. At least I'll think about it."
Today was not a good day at all. But now everything would return to peace and tranquility, I was happy that Gwen and I finally fixed things, that was a better reward than what Chris promised. From now on it will be better to be more careful and think better about what I will do, I am no longer in my city with my team and even less so in Monster High. I will continue to be the monster that I am, but I will also make sure to be careful when doing everything. There is still a long way to go in the program.
That's it for the chapter of...WOW!
"I caught him, we finally caught him! Apple warns the others, Cerise, help me with this!"
"It's over bitch, you and your game is over!"
"Let's take her to the interrogation. Jack and Reyes will know what to do, Raven helps Cerise, I'll go as soon as possible."
Hello my dear readers. I'm so sorry you had to see that, umm. I hope you liked today's chapter, it feels good to publish chapters again after a long time and I still have many more to upload.
