It's 11:30p.m of the day 31st December. Which means that there's only half an hour away before the New Year's Eve. The whole town of Elmore, including the Watterson family, was buzzing with excitement as the time inched closer to midnight. And as for the Watterson household, they'd promised each others to gather around at the backyard to celebrate the event.

Their house was decorated by the warm glow of fairy lights, casting a cozy ambiance that was perfect for ringing in the new year. And at the backyard, there's Richard, Darwin and Anais are already present while Gumball and Nicole are probably still preparing something inside the house.

Darwin: "Come on, Gumball! It's almost time!"

Darwin exclaimed, bouncing with anticipation. He wore a party hat that was slightly askew, a goofy grin plastered across his face.

Gumball: "I know, I know!"

Gumball replied before he ran into the backyard, adjusting his own hat and trying to suppress his excitement. Once he settled his seat next to Darwin, he looked over his sister Anais, who's closing her eyes, clasping her hands and looking up at the sky as she's murmuring something. Gumball turned to ask Darwin.

Gumball: "What do you think she's doing?"

Darwin chuckled, nudging Gumball playfully.

Darwin: "I think she's praying for something... Probably for being better next year or even more, having an actual friend!"

Gumball and Darwin's giggles interrupted Anais's prayer as she speaks out.

Anais: "I heard that!"

This got Gumball and Darwin a bit surprised before Gumball responds to his sister.

Gumball: "Oops... We're sorry, little sis. We were just messing around! You can continue to do... whatever you're doing right now."

Anais gives them a small groan before she goes back to her praying. Soon after that, their mother, Nicole, entered the backyard, carrying a tray of homemade snacks.

Nicole: "Alright, everyone! Let's make sure we're ready for the countdown!"

The three kids cheered in excitement as Nicole looked over her husband Richard, who's napping on the grass. She have no choice but to raise her voice up a little to call him awake.

Nicole: "Richard, are you still napping?"

Her yelling made Richard stirred awake, blinking at the commotion as he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

Richard: "Huh? What's going on? Is it midnight already?"

Anais's looking to her dad as she responds.

Anais: "Not yet, but it will be soon! You should really pay attention, Dad. This is a family tradition, you know?"

Richard showed a blush of guilt as the rest of the family rolled their eyes. A few minutes passed away and it's now 11:55p.m, only 5 minutes before the New Year's Eve! Everyone around the town, including the Watterson family, was filled with excitement! As Gumball looked at his family are all excited for the event right now, he felt a surge of emotion. Gumball really loved spending the times with his family in such occasions like this. Sure, his family can be a little bit crazy and chaotic sometimes but in the end, they're still his family! And more importantly, they're still know how to show loves and cares to each that was enough to make him believe that he had the most perfect family ever!

Then Gumball stood up, clearing his throat to get everyone's attention.

Gumball: "Hey, everyone! Can I have your attention for a second?"

The family all turned to him, curiosity shining in their eyes as Gumball took a deep breath with his heart racing before he speaks.

Gumball: "Well... I just wanted to say... that I'm so glad and so lucky to have such a wonderful family like you guys! I know we can be a bit crazy sometimes, and things don't always go as planned. But I wouldn't trade our family for anything. Sure that we've had our ups and downs, but we always come together! That's what makes us special!"

Darwin and Richard nodded enthusiastically, Anais and Nicole smiled as Gumball continues with his voice growing stronger.

Gumball: "I mean, look at us! We've laughed together, cried together, and even managed to save the whole town together sometimes! So I say, that no matter what happened, we always have each other's backs! So, here's to another year of adventures, love, and maybe a little less chaos!"

The whole family erupted into cheers, and Gumball felt warmth spread through him as his family gathered around him. They hugged each others tightly, their laughter and joy filling the air up!

Nicole: "Thank you my little Gummypuss! Your speech was very meaningful! You have no idea how proud of you I am right now..."

Darwin: *nods in excitement* "Yeah! You look so cool, dude! One of the best speech ever!"

Anais: "I love you too, Gumball. Even though you may be annoying sometimes but after all, you're still my big brother! The one whom I can lean on..."

Richard: "And we'll always be there for you, son..."

Gumball got emotional at his family's comments as he speaks.

Gumball: "Ah... Thanks you guys! I don't know what would I do without all of you..."

The whole family's hugging each others for a while before they heard everyone around is starting to shout the New Year's countdown!

Darwin: "Oh! It's starting! I'm so excited!"

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"- They all shouted in unison as the fireworks get shot up, illuminating the night sky with vibrant colors.

As the family pulled away from the embrace and enjoyed the fireworks scene, Gumball looked around at his family, their faces glowing with happiness.

Gumball: "Let's make this year even better than the previous ones!"

"YEAH!"- The whole family agreed in unison as they celebrated the New Year's Eve with their unique bond, ready to face whatever the new year had in store for them, together!
