(14)-Prairie Grove And Charlotte.

Kyle, Cobey and Megan had now finished their pieces of the birthday ice-cream cake and were now sitting in their chairs, relaxing, with the two DQ spoons back on Kyle and Cobey's plates, the kitchen spoon back on Megan's plate, and the knife resting on a napkin.

"Now THAT...was a birthday cake." Cobey said.

"Super awesome." Kyle added.

"I know. Have you ever had an ice-cream cake so well made in your entire life?" Megan asked.

"Not where i come from, no." Kyle said.

"I thought you said your town had a Dairy Queen." Cobey reminded.

"We do, but it doesn't sale ice-cream cakes." Kyle said.

"What are you two going on about?" Megan asked curiously.

"Kyle's been telling me about his home-town." Cobey answered.

"Is that so? Well...where are you from?" Megan asked.

"Prairie Grove." Kyle replied.

"Prairie what?" Megan asked.

"Prairie Grove. It's the name of the town i grew up in." Kyle refuted.

"Never heard of it." Megan said.

"Well, neither had i until he told me about it." Cobey added.

"Most people outside of Kansas haven't." Kyle said. According to his middle school history teacher, Mrs. Gavey, Prairie Grove was one of those small communities that fell off the radar and became one of those small forgotten towns to the rest of the world outside of Kansas as time went on. Very few people knew about it, if not none at all.

"Oh, you're from Kansas." Megan said.

"Yes, i am." Kyle said.

"What's it like there? Where you grew up, i mean." Megan said.

"Prairie Grove is a blended cultural enviornment of the 19th/early 21st century. The 1800s and 2000s, to be exact. People ride horses, drive vehicles, ride in wagons and carriages that are pulled by horses, dress like the 1800s on their jobs, except for the fast-food restaurants, we have a stage-coach service, a cab company service, and we have a mall that's been around since the 1800s." Kyle explained.

"Whoa. Sounds like a wonderful place to visit." Megan said.

"Trust me, it is." Kyle said.

"Do you have any friends back home in Prairie Grove?" Cobey asked.

"I have one friend: Charlie." Kyle said.

"What's he like?" Cobey asked.

"SHE is a lot of fun." Kyle corrected.

"Tell us about her." Megan said.

"Well, her real name is Charlotte Westborn...but i call her Charlie as a nickname." Kyle said.

"Good to know." Cobey said.

"Anything else?" Megan asked.

"Yeah, lots of things." Kyle said.

"Like what?" Cobey asked.

"Well...she likes Disney movies." Kyle said.

"Cool." Cobey said.

"Specially the ones with Princesses." Kyle said.

"Figures." Cobey said.

"She loves cake and ice-cream." Kyle said.

"Who doesn't?" Cobey said.

"And candy." Kyle said.

"Of course." Cobey said.

"She loves fruit." Kyle said.

"Awesome." Cobey said.

"She loves reading fairytale stories." Kyle said.

"No surprise." Cobey said.

"She loves to bake cookies and cupcakes." Kyle said.

"Yum." Cobey said.

"She's into cartoons about girls, like Jem and Miraculous Ladybug." Kyle said.

"Well, who doesn't love Miraculous?" Cobey said.

"She loves girl super-heroes." Kyle said.

"Shocked." Cobey said.

"She loves Valentine's Day." Kyle said.

"Wonderful." Megan said.

"And Christmas." Kyle said.

"Tis the season." Cobey said.

"She's into the 2000s culture." Kyle said.

"Nothing wrong with that." Megan said.

"She'll be graduating high school next year." Kyle said.

"Good for her." Megan said.

"And she's a hug fan of anime shows, like Sailor Moon, Pretty Cure, Mermaid Melody, etc." Kyle said.

"Why am i not surprised?" Cobey said.

"And that's about it." Kyle finished. He knew he had left out Charlotte's dysfunctional home life with her feuding parents, their bitter divorce and their custody battle over her, but he wasn't about to put that part of her business out there like that. Just because he'd aired out his private life didn't mean he had to air out his best friend's too.

"Wow. This Charlotte girl sounds like a really fun person to be around." Megan said. "Doesn't she, Cobey?" She asked as she looked at Cobey.

"Yeah. Real-(Yawns) real fun." Cobey agreed, yawning in the middle of his sentence.

"Uh-oh, looks like someone's a little tired." Megan said.

"Normally i'd say no, but...you're right." Cobey said.

"Come on, birthday boy. Let's get you to bed." Megan said.

"Yes, ma'am." Said Cobey, too tired to protest.

Megan and Cobey got up from the table and began heading for the door as Kyle remained in his seat while smiling at them.
