Volume I: The Shocker
Note: This will be the tenth chapter of Volume I. This will introduce Herman Schultz as the Shocker who will be the main villain, this will also include Phineas Mason as the Tinkerer.
It's still November, at the underground workshop of Phineas Mason which is the abandoned Roosevelt Train Station. Phineas Mason goes by the Tinkerer, a criminal inventor who builds weapons and advanced technology for criminals, he uses his specialty glasses to work as he's been very busy building his newest invention. He stopped his work as his computer is getting a video chat. He allows the video to patch through as the Kingpin is calling.
"Ah, Mr. Fisk, what a surprise." Tinkerer says to Kingpin.
"Never use my name again, or you won't live to say it again. Is that clear?" Kingpin threatening Tinkerer.
"My apologies, Kingpin. Won't happen again." Tinkerer says to Kingpin.
"What's the progress on your project?" Kingpin asking Tinkerer.
"The prototype is almost finished, all we need is a volunteer to test it out." Tinkerer says to Kingpin.
"I happened to have the best man for this task. Are you sure that it'll work?" Kingpin asking Tinkerer.
"Without a doubt." Tinkerer assured the Kingpin.
"Good, I spent a lot of money on these secret projects of yours in exchange for better weaponry, I expect a return on my investment. With any hope, this will come in handy to regain what I had lost thanks to Spider-Man." Kingpin says to Tinkerer.
"Not to worry, soon Spider-Man will just be a footnote in history." Tinkerer says to Kingpin with a mischievous smile.
Kingpin smiled back mischievously as he planned to have Spider-Man taken out permanently.
The next day in Midtown High as Raymond Warren is teaching his class. Peter is sitting with Gwen Stacy as the two still remained close friends. Liz is sitting with Sally Avril as she sees Peter and Gwen sitting together, she has that same feeling again whenever she thinks about Peter, though she's still not sure what it is yet. Everyone listened as Professor Warren continues to teach about Symbiosis.
"Symbiosis, an interaction between two different beings working together for greater advantages. Symbiosis can be divided into three categories, mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism." Raymond Warren teaching his class.
"With all due respect Professor, what does any of this have to do with life?" Flash doesn't quite get it.
"Everything, when two species working together can be quite advantageous, like a bee working to collect the pollen from a flower, without those bees we probably wouldn't have honey, now would we." Raymond Warren explained his theory on symbiosis.
"So in other words, it's quite beneficial. Okay, I think that I get that." Flash seems to understand.
"Who knows, maybe one day you'll experience some form of symbiosis, hopefully it'll be quite beneficial, Mr. Thompson." Raymond Warren says to Flash.
The bell rang as class is over.
"Okay, I'd like each of you to study for a test next week." Raymond Warren says to the class.
Everyone started to leave including Peter and Liz.
"Mr. Parker, Ms. Allan, a moment of you time, please." Raymond Warren tells Peter and Liz.
Both Peter and Liz stayed behind as everyone else left class.
"Is something wrong, Professor Warren?" Peter is curious.
"With you no, you still earn top grades in my class, this is about Ms. Allan here." Raymond Warren looking at Liz.
"What is it, Professor Warren?" Liz is curious.
"It's about your grades, you got a 'D' on last week's test." Raymond Warren explained her situation.
"I'm sorry, it's just that science isn't exactly my specialty." Liz tells Professor Warren.
"Not to worry, I'm sure that my best pupil Mr. Parker here will be able to tutor you to help you catch up." Raymond Warren says to Liz.
"Me?" Peter is surprised.
"Is that a problem, Mr. Parker?" Raymond Warren asking Peter.
"No, of course not, I don't mind. It's just that since I got a job doing freelance for the Daily Bugle, I might get called on a job." Peter gives an excuse.
"Mr. Parker, as much as I'd admire that you have a job, it's important to stay focused on school, I'm sure that you might fit tutoring Ms. Allan into your busy schedule." Raymond Warren tells Peter.
Peter sighed and smiled. "Okay, I guess I can make time to tutor Liz."
"Great, that settles it. I'll leave you in Mr. Parker's capable hands." Raymond Warren says to Liz.
Raymond Warren leaves his classroom as the whole school is dismissed, leaving Peter and Liz alone.
"Guessing that I'm tutoring you. So what now?" Peter is wondering to Liz.
"How about a drink?" Liz smiled in suggestion.
As of right now, Peter has become a science tutor for Liz Allan.
At Roosevelt Station, Tinkerer is still working on perfecting his newest invention. Unknown to him, a man came by on Kingpin's orders.
"You the Tinkerer?" Herman Schultz asking Tinkerer.
"That is me, and you are?" Tinkerer asking the man for his name.
"Herman Schultz, career bank robber, was serving a fifteen year sentence, thanks to Kingpin and his connections, I was able to get out early on good behavior." Herman Schultz introduced himself to Tinkerer.
"So you're the one Kingpin has sent to test out my new weapons?" Tinkerer says to Herman Schultz.
"That's me, is it ready?" Herman Schultz is wondering.
"Here it is!" Tinkerer shows Herman Schultz the new stuff.
Herman Schultz sees a yellow and brown power suit along with two gauntlets attached.
"What is it exactly?" Herman Schultz is still confused by the suit.
"The two gauntlets you see before you are capable of producing vibro-shock blast, the suit itself is built to protect its user by dampening the vibrations the gauntlets produces." Tinkerer explained how the gauntlets and suit works.
"Sounds pretty badass." Herman Schultz likes what he's hearing.
"One way to find out, why don't you try it on and test it out." Tinkerer suggested to Herman Schultz.
Later as Herman Schultz is in the other room putting on the suit, he looked himself in the mirror and sees that he looks like a supervillain. He came out after putting the suit on.
"How does it feel?" Tinkerer asking Herman Schultz.
"Fits like a glove." Herman Schultz says to Tinkerer.
"Very well, let's test out the gauntlets, see those barrels? Blast them." Tinkerer points to the empty barrels.
Herman Schultz steps forward as he aims his gauntlets at the barrels. He activated it as it began to charge up the vibro-shockwaves. He charged his gauntlets up as he unleashed a blast of vibro-shockwaves at the barrels as they blasted it away with ease.
"Impressive." Tinkerer is proud of his work.
"Oh, I love theses babies, think that I'm gonna keep them." Herman Schultz loves the new weapons.
"I see that you're too attached to those gauntlets, Mr. Schultz." Tinkerer says to Herman Schultz.
"Don't call me that." Herman Schultz doesn't want to be called by his name.
"Then what would you like to be called?" Tinkerer asking him.
"Call me... the Shocker!" Herman Schultz goes by the Shocker.
In the city at the Coffee Bean, Peter and Liz are having their drinks while Peter is tutoring Liz in science to help her catch up.
"What is... uh... mutua...?" Liz is confused.
"Mutualism." Peter corrects her word.
"Yeah." Liz says to Peter.
"It's a interaction of two individuals of different species that benefits them both." Peter teaching Liz.
"Kinda like us?" Liz smiled at Peter.
"What do you mean?" Peter is curious.
"Nothing... it's nothing at all." Liz blushed a bit.
"Okay?" Peter is still confused.
"Sorry if my need to be tutored is troubling you." Liz says to Peter.
"It's no trouble at all Liz, it's just that I usually work part time for the Daily Bugle." Peter gives an excuse.
"Taking pictures of Spider-Man, right?" Liz says to Peter.
Peter looked at Liz as she mentioned Spider-Man.
"I do read the papers if that's surprising to you, seen your work." Liz says to Peter.
"Right, ever since my uncle died, my aunt has been working double shifts at the hospital and I needed to pitch in to help her pay bills and stuff." Peter explained his reasons to work to Liz.
"I see, it's a good thing that she's got a great nephew helping her out." Liz says to Peter.
"Thanks Liz." Peter smiled at Liz.
"Yeah... so where were we?" Liz still reading her book.
"Right, next up is communalism, it's..." Peter continues to tutor Liz Allan.
In downtown as a van is driving through the city, inside the Shocker is leading a team of armed robbers for a score. The men are armed with automatic weapons and dressed in bulletproof vests, they see their leader Herman Schultz wearing his new suit, a yellow and brown suit with two gauntlets on his arms.
"Alright boys, you know the drill, get in and hold hostages and grab the money." Shocker explained his plan.
"What about the cops?"
"Leave them to me, and if Spider-Man gets in the way, even better. Kingpin definitely wants him dead more than the money we're about to steal." Shocker says to his men.
The van stopped in front of the bank.
"Alright boys! Let's go!" Shocker orders his men.
Shocker and his men got out of the van as they all have their guns armed and ready.
"Everyone on the floor now!"
One of the men fired his gun off as a warning as the everyone got down on the floor faced down. Unknown to them, one of the bank employees watched as the robbers holds everyone hostage, he triggered the silent alarm.
Shocker and a couple of his guys arrived at the vault.
"So how do we open this can of peaches?"
"Stand back, boys! I got this." Shocker tells his guys to move back.
Shocker stands in front of the vault door as he charges up his gauntlets. He kept charging it until he unleashed a huge vibro-shock blast on the vault door and breaking it down.
One of the guys whistled in amazement. "Dang!"
"Hurry up, grab as much as you can carry!" Shocker orders his men.
The robbers went inside the vault as they pulled out the duffle bags and collected as much of the cash as they can. They kept on collecting until they heard sirens outside.
"Keep collecting! I'll deal with the cops!" Shocker order his men.
He steps out of the vault as another group of his men is pointing their guns at the hostages. The police have barricaded outside as the streets are locked down and squad cars are blocking their escape routes. A SWAT van came as a team of SWAT came to join the police force, Yuri Watanabe is dressed in a vest as she's leading the operation, she holds up a megaphone.
"Attention bank robbers! We have the entire area locked down! Get out and put your hands in the air!" Yuri says through the megaphone.
Shocker stepped out of the bank entrance as he has his hands up in the air. Everyone is confused by the appearance of this new villain.
"Alright officer! My hands are up!" Shocker with his arms up.
His gauntlets are charging up as he then fires off a blast at the squad cars, they got blasted hard as some officers are injected from the shockwave.
"Open fire!" Yuri orders the officers.
All the cops in the area unleashed a wave of bullets at Shocker but he uses the suits powers to create a field of vibro energy which protects him from bullets. He fires off more blasts from his gauntlets as the police are having trouble keeping him at bay.
"We need backup immediately!" Yuri says over the radio.
Peter is still tutoring Liz for her test until his phone rang, he pulls it out of his pocket, it's Betty Brant calling him.
"I gotta take this, excuse me." Peter say to Liz as he got up and walked away, he answered the phone. "Hey Betty, what's going on?"
"Peter, there's a situation happening at the bank downtown, some new guy is blowing things up and taking down the cops. I think that Spider-Man will make an appearance, thought I give you the heads up." Betty explained what's happening over the phone.
"I'm on my way." Peter hangs up as he turns to Liz. "I'm sorry Liz, work had called me, we're gonna have to finish this another time, stay here where you'll be safe."
Peter leaves the Coffee Bean as he runs through the crowd and reached an alley way for him to change. He later swings away from the alley as he heads into danger.
Liz is getting curious about what Peter does in his work, she pulls out her phone and types in the news about anything recent, she found a live article about a bank robbery happening downtown that's not too far away from where she is. She wonders if Peter will be there doing his job, she got up and took her stuff, she left the Coffee Bean.
The Shocker is causing chaos as everything around the block is being damaged and wrecked by his gauntlets.
Spider-Man arrived at the rooftop as he looks down to see another supervillain causing mayhem and the police are ill equipped to handle this situation.
"Another one? Where do these guys keep coming from? Well, this should be a piece of cake." Spider-Man webs a camera on the wall for a better vantage point.
Shocker kept on destroying the squad cars until he got shot from his side by Yuri Watanabe, though the bullet didn't do much damage thanks to his suit protecting him. He then blasted a wrecked car off the ground towards her as she sees it coming down on her. She closes her eyes as she thinks that she's about to die. Nothing happened as she opened her eyes and looked up to see Spider-Man holding the wrecked car above him.
"Am I late, Lieutenant?" Spider-Man says to Yuri Watanabe.
"Actually, you're just in time. Thanks for the save, Spidey." Yuri Watanabe thanked Spider-Man for saving her life.
"What's the situation here, Lieutenant?" Spider-Man asking Yuri Watanabe.
"We're getting thrashed, many of my men are too injured. This new guy is too much for us to handle." Yuri Watanabe explains to Spider-Man.
"Okay, I'll take care of him, get your men and the civilians to safety." Spider-Man tells Yuri Watanabe.
"Alright, everyone! Pull back!" Yuri Watanabe orders the officers
Spider-Man tossed the car aside as Yuri and the police force are pulling back to safety along with the civilians. Unknown to everyone, Liz Allan arrived at the scene hiding nearby as she tries to look for Peter Parker.
Spider-Man jumped onto a car rooftop as Shocker sees the hero here in person.
"So who are you supposed to be?" Spider-Man asking the new guy.
"I'm the Shocker. I'm glad to finally meet the infamous Spider-Man that's been causing my employer so much trouble." Shocker gives a hint of his boss.
"The Kingpin? You work for him too? Who is he?" Spider-Man wants answers to this Kingpin.
"I could tell you but you won't live long enough for it to matter. Say goodbye Bug Boy!" Shocker points his gauntlets at Spider-Man.
Shocker fires off a blast of vibro-shock energy at Spider-Man but Spidey jumped up and avoid the blast. The blast caused the building to drop down some debris as the civilians are running out in fear.
"Hey! Careful with that thing! Innocent people could get hurt!" Spider-Man says to Shocker.
"You think that I care? Well I don't! I'm just looking out for myself!" Shocker shows no remorse.
"Then I'll have to take you down here and now!" Spider-Man says to Shocker.
Spider-Man webbed up a mailbox as the Shocker charges up his gauntlets, he tossed the mailbox at him as Shocker blasted it with ease but got blinded in the process as shreds of paper is in the air. Unknown to him, two webs got fired past him as Spider-Man came in for a slingshot kick, Shocker got kicked hard. Spider-Man sees him getting up after that impact he suffered through.
"Is that all you got?" Shocker stands up.
"I guess the fight is still on?" Spider-Man says to Shocker.
"Bring it!" Shocker dared Spider-Man.
Spider-Man fires off a volley of webs but Shocker uses his gauntlets to vibrate some waves to protect himself. Spider-Man runs up closer as he throws in some punches to Shocker's face. Shocker then counter by executing a stronger punch from his gauntlet, he punched Spider-Man back hard towards the wall.
Liz is watching nearby as Spider-Man is getting bested by a new villain. She still looks around as she still couldn't find Peter here somewhere.
"You're out of your league, Kid." Shocker as he gained the upper hand.
The robbers finished collecting the money as they run out of the bank with the duffle bags.
"Boss! We got the money! Let's go!"
Shocker is about to leave the scene until Spider-Man got back up and webbed Shocker's back. Spider-Man uses his strength to keep Shocker from escaping.
"You and your crew aren't going anywhere!" Spider-Man still holding the web line.
Shocker struggles to free himself until he sees some innocent civilians around. He fires off some waves of vibro-shock energy around the buildings as Spider-Man sees the people are in danger.
"Ahh!!!" Liz yelled out in fear.
He then spotted Liz Allan at the scene as the debris came falling down upon her.
"Nooo!!!" Spider-Man yelled out.
Shocker then sees Spider-Man distracted as he fires off a blast and hits Spider-Man back. Spider-Man came crashing down onto a car. Shocker got freed as he runs up and gets in the back of the van.
"Go now!" Shocker orders the driver.
The van is escaping from the scene as Spider-Man recovers. He sees that Shocker has escaped but he's got bigger worried than him.
He got up and runs back to the damaged building. He lift the debris as he sees Liz Allan unconscious.
"Liz? Liz!!" Spider-Man yelled out to Liz.
He put his finger around her neck and checks her pulse, he got one.
"You're still alive. We need a medic here!" Spider-Man calls out for help.
Spider-Man sees the paramedics coming to the rescue.
"Hang on Liz, help is coming." Spider-Man says to Liz who is still unconscious.
Later at the hospital as Peter and the paramedics are escorting an unconscious Liz Allan on a stretcher to the emergency room. Peter was able to change back into his clothes after the paramedics took Liz, then he followed her to the hospital.
"Come on Liz, hang in there!" Peter pleaded to her.
"Kid, you need to stay back!"
"She's my friend!" Peter says to the paramedic.
"Then let us save her life!"
Peter stayed back as the paramedics is escorting Liz into the emergency room, all he can do is pray that she's saved. May is working at that same hospital in the city as she spotted Peter here.
"Peter?" May calls out to Peter.
"May." Peter teared up.
"Peter, what happened?" May is getting worried.
"Liz... she's... she's hurt." Peter says to May.
"My god." May came up to Peter and hugged him.
(Emergency Room)
In the emergency room, the paramedics brought in Liz Allan for the doctors to save.
"What do we got?"
"15 year old female, she's got a concussion and internal injuries."
"Okay, put her on the table!"
The paramedics put Liz on the table for the doctors to do their work to save Liz's life.
Sometime later at the hideout of the Shocker, he and his men returned back after completing their objective, the men took out almost millions of dollars in cash.
"We got the money, honey!"
Someone is clapping his hands together as he steps out of the shadows, it's the Kingpin wearing his standard white suit and trademark purple tie.
"Congratulations, gentlemen. Things worked out in the end." Kingpin smiled.
"Gotta say Boss, these gauntlets worked like a charm. Manage to best Spider-Man and escape with the dough. Though there were some casualties to the innocents, the cops mostly, including a teenage girl." Shocker explained about the incident.
"Unfortunate, though not really my concern. I manage to win at the end of the day. Even if a innocent live was taken, I would've lost nothing." Kingpin showed no remorse for the lives that were hurt.
The Kingpin and his associates managed to collect a lot of money from today's heist.
"Since today was a success, why stop there? It's time to move on to the big one." Kingpin smiled mischievously.
"What do you have in mind, boss?" Shocker is curious about the Kingpin's next heist.
Meanwhile back at the hospital, Peter is still sitting in the waiting room until he sees Mary Jane, Gwen, and Harry coming.
"Pete!" Harry called out to Peter.
"Harry, thank god you three came." Peter gets up and hugged Harry.
"Of course, anything for my brother. What happened?" Harry is getting worried.
They then got interrupted by Flash Thompson along with Sally, Kong, and Randy.
"What the hell happened?!" Flash isn't too happy.
"Liz was caught in the crossfire between Spider-Man and some new guy." Mary Jane explained to Flash.
"I had no idea that she was going to be there. I'm so-" Peter got cut off as he got pushed back hard by Flash.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing?!" Harry yelled at Flash.
"This is your fault Parker!" Flash is getting held back by Randy and Kong.
"Flash man, calm down!" Randy holding Flash back.
"Take it easy man!" Kong did the same.
"Liz wouldn't be in this mess if it wasn't for you. She's in there because of you!" Flash says to Peter.
"Leave him alone!" Gwen protests on Peter's behalf.
"That's enough all of you! This is a hospital, not a cage match!" George Stacy came and broke up the fight.
"Dad!" Gwen hugged her father.
"I'm here Gwennie." George Stacy hug his daughter.
Everyone then sees Liz's parents coming, her father Wilson Allan and her mother Doris Raxton. The doctor came out of the room as everyone sees and got curious.
"Family of Elizabeth Allan?"
"That's us, how is our baby?" Doris Raxton says all concerned.
"She made it through, we stopped the internal bleeding and the bruise on her forehead is swelling, she's going to be okay."
Everyone looked relieved that Liz Allan gets to live another day.
"Could we see her?" Wilson Allan is wondering.
"Of course, but just remember that she's still in recovery and needs plenty of rest."
Liz's parents went inside to see their daughter resting as the rest of the group is waiting outside. Peter decided to walk away as he still feel guilt for not being able to protect Liz, Mary Jane noticed it as she follows him.
(Outside the Hospital)
Mary Jane went outside to see Peter sitting alone being all quiet.
"Tiger?" Mary Jane calls to Peter.
"He was right, this was my fault." Peter felt guilt.
"Peter Parker, don't you dare say that." Mary Jane says to Peter.
"Why not? It's true, I was too distracted by fighting Shocker that I didn't notice Liz was there and she got hurt as a result of my carelessness." Peter felling guilty.
"Tiger, what happened today wasn't your fault. You did your best to save everyone, but you can't always control what happens out there, that's the reality. Danger comes to everyone lives whether they like it or not. You do your best to save everyone from danger, sometimes not everyone is so lucky. You can't let what happened to Liz bring you down now. If you can't find a way to work through it, then next time no one gets saved." Mary Jane says to Peter.
"Sometimes I wished that I never had these powers and that I was still normal, living the life I was supposed to live." Peter says to Mary Jane.
"Hey, if you didn't get these powers then none of us would be here. You saved the entire school from danger, you saved Gwen from certain death, you saved Betty and Robbie from a crime lord, you saved your aunt who got held hostage. You saved a lot of lives, none of those people would be here if you didn't become Spider-Man, neither would Liz. You can't give up and let Shocker or anyone else stop you from doing what's right. Because you're a hero, it's who you are." Mary Jane gave her speech of confidence to Peter.
"You're right... thank you MJ." Peter smiled at Mary Jane as he felt better.
Peter hugged Mary Jane as she got surprised, she hugged him back.
The next day at Roosevelt Station, Herman Schultz returned back after the suit and gauntlets suffered some damage from his fight with Spider-Man yesterday. Tinkerer is working to fix the gauntlets.
"How long is this gonna take?" Herman Schultz is curious.
"Patience, you can't rush the process. Just need a little more tinkering and..." Tinkerer finished fixing the gauntlets. "Done."
Herman puts on the gauntlets and test it out a bit as they're still active.
"Nice, by the way, Kingpin is wondering if the special order he requested is ready." Herman Schultz reminded Tinkerer.
They looked at the table as Tinkerer is working on some personal at the request of Kingpin.
"Not yet, but it'll be ready soon. So what's next for the Shocker?" Tinkerer is curious.
"The bank job was easy, so is besting Spider-Man. Now it's time for me to find a bigger score." Herman Schultz says to Tinkerer.
"Which is?" Tinkerer asking Herman Schultz.
"The Federal Reserve, where the government stores gold bullions, which is impenetrable by normal means until now. With these new weapons, this should be easy." Herman Schultz holding his gauntlets.
"You're crazy, but I like it." Tinkerer smiled at Herman Schultz.
"If Spider-Man gets in the way again, then I'll destroy him." Herman Schultz smiled mischievously.
The next day at Midtown High, everyone got out of school after class ended. Peter could see the cheerleading team praying for Liz and her recovery. Mary Jane noticed that Peter still looking a bit down.
"Why don't you go see Liz? I hear that she's doing good in her recovery." Mary Jane suggested to Peter.
"How could I face Liz after what happened yesterday? I'm pretty much the very reason she's in the hospital in the first place." Peter says to Mary Jane.
"Peter, you can't keep avoiding Liz after what happened yesterday. Eventually you'll have to see her at some point." Mary Jane tells Peter.
"How do you work through the grief and guilt?" Peter asking Mary Jane.
"You can start by seeing Liz later on, or you can find Shocker and stop him from hurting anymore people... food for thought." Mary Jane suggested to Peter.
"Thanks MJ, for the advice." Peter smiled at Mary Jane.
"What would you do without me?" Mary Jane smiled back at Peter.
"Probably get bullied by Flash Thompson in the past." Peter reminded that she's helps Peter out of trouble.
Later at the hospital, Flash came by after school to check on Liz who is awake and looking out the window.
"Glad to see that you're awake." Flash smiled at Liz.
"I've been through worse, I was held hostage months ago." Liz says to Flash.
"I know, I was there. How are holding up?" Flash is asking Liz.
"I'm fine, Flash, I promise. Gonna take a lot more than a supervillain to bring down Liz Allan." Liz assured Flash.
"That Puny Parker is the one to blame here. He was supposed to be tutoring you and instead he left and head into danger." Flash isn't happy with Peter.
"Flash, none of this was his fault." Liz defended Peter.
"Please Liz, don't defend him." Flash tells Liz.
"It's not that, he's not the reason I got hurt, I was." Liz told Flash the truth.
"You? I don't understand." Flash is confused.
"Peter told me to stay behind where I should've been, but instead I followed after him without him knowing. I went to the scene of the fight between Spider-Man and this Shocker. I couldn't find Peter anywhere but I was watching the fight as Spider-Man was about the capture Shocker but that guy fired off his tech and I got caught in the crossfire." Liz explained the reason she got hurt.
"So you're saying that none of this is his fault." Flash says to Liz.
"No, if anything he didn't want me to go with him, he wanted me to be stay behind where it's safe. I was the one who didn't listen and risked my own life to follow him." Liz tells Flash.
Flash sighed. "I was so mad at him for dragging you into danger that I didn't consider that you chased after him... guess that I owe him an apology."
"Why were you so mad at him? Why worry too much about me even though we're broken up?" Liz asking Flash.
"Honestly I thought that I was over you, but I realize that you were part of my past. Even though that we've broken up, you're still a part of me. I still need you in my Liz." Flash says to Liz.
"As do I need you, as a friend." Liz smiled at Flash.
"Friends, I'd like that." Flash smiled back at Liz.
Liz and Flash still remained a part of each other's lives. Unknown to them, Spider-Man was hanging outside watching as the two still have a close relationship.
Spider-Man sighed. "It's great that those two have each other, all I ever done was cause trouble for everyone around me. I hope that Liz will feel better after this, with Flash's help. As for me, all I can do is find this Shocker and stop him before anymore people get hurt or worse."
Spider-Man jumped off the ledge and swings away to patrol around the city.
At the federal reserve in the city, security guards patrol around the area as a group of armored trucks came to the entrance to the loading bay, the guard came up to the driver.
"Any trouble?"
"Nah, still the same boring routine."
"I hear that, go on ahead."
The trucks came inside driving as they parked onto the loading bay. The trucks unloaded a new shipment of gold bullion off to be transported to the vault.
(Outside the Federal Reserve)
A van parked outside the reserve as Shocker and his team of men are armed to the teeth.
"Alright boys, this is the big one. Let's go!" Shocker orders his men.
Shocker and his men got out of the van as they went to the entrance. Four security guards see him as they raised their weapons at them.
"Stop right there!"
"Can't do that, I'm here for a withdrawal!" Shocker charges up his gauntlets.
He fired off a blast at them as they got injured and the entrance got taken down. The whole building is on alert as Shocker and his men enters the building.
Spider-Man is sitting on a rooftop and having a lunch break until his phone got an alert from the NYPD.
"All units, the Federal Reserve is under attack, man in yellow suit is causing destruction, send backup immediately."
"That's him, time to go to work." Spider-Man got up and swings away.
Shocker and his men gained control of the situation at the Federal Reserve as they broke into the vault and sees a large amount of gold bullions inside.
"Looks like Christmas came early this year, boys." Shocker says to his men.
The men started to wheel out the gold bullions in wheelbarrows.
Some of the men manage to make it outside until they got webbed up by Spider-Man.
Back inside the vault, Shocker is still looking as the many more gold are being stolen. He then noticed that the men that wheeled out the first cargo hasn't returned back.
"Where are those two?" Shocker is getting worried.
"Ahem!" Spider-Man hanging from the ceiling.
Shocker and the men looks up to see Spider-Man here hanging.
"I'm afraid those two are tied up at the moment." Spider-Man says to them.
"You again!" Shocker says to Spider-Man.
"Yeah, me again. You've hurt an innocent girl, you're gonna pay for that!" Spider-Man isn't too happy.
"Nothing personal, just collateral damage." Shocker doesn't care.
Spider-Man fires off a couple of line past Shocker as he swings in for a slingshot kick. He kicked back Shocker hard against the wall. A couple of his men pointed their guns at Spider-Man but he managed to web up the barrels. Spider-Man flips back and jumps up to do the split kick.
Shocker got back up as Spider-Man is getting in the way of their operation, his men are down for the count.
"Kingpin will pay a great deal of money for your head, to me you're just a paycheck." Shocker says to Spider-Man.
"Too bad it's not going to be easy money." Spider-Man says to Shocker.
Shocker fires off his gauntlets at Spider-Man but he jumped up and webbed Shocker's face, blinding him. Spider-Man runs up and does the drop kick and landed in a three point stance. Shocker was kicked hard out of the vault, Spider-Man came walking towards him.
"I know that you're just the muscle, so tell me. Who is this Kingpin and where can I find him?" Spider-Man wants answers from Shocker.
"Kingpin, he's everywhere. You can't find him, he'll find you." Shocker say to Spider-Man.
"That's not enough, I want answers." Spider-Man demanded from Shocker.
"Forget it! Do yourself a favor, let this go and stay away, because Kingpin isn't the kind of enemy you want. There's a reason he's very dangerous." Shocker advised Spider-Man.
"I'm not afraid." Spider-Man isn't backing down.
"You should be, he doesn't just come after you, he goes after your entire family and those you ever loved." Shocker says to Spider-Man as he stands up.
"All the more reason to find him, so he never does this to another person's family ever again. He came after an entire school and tried to kill someone, I can't let this go, I won't." Spider-Man won't back down even now.
"Then I guess I'll have to kill you." Shocker fires off a blast.
Spider-Man ran and dodge the blast as he got closer for a fist to the face. Shocker then uses his gauntlets for close quarters fighting. Spider-Man uses his skills in Kickboxing to fight with fists. Spider-Man does the bob and weave maneuvers to avoid Shocker's gauntlets, Spider-Man strikes back with a hook to the face. Shocker counter attacks with a straight punch to the gut and sends Spider-Man back against the wall.
"Time to put your lights out!" Shocker walked closer to Spider-Man.
Shocker throws the first punch with one gauntlet until Spider-Man dodged and grabs the gauntlet, he elbows him back hard while holding onto the gauntlet. Shocker only has one gauntlet left as Spider-Man holds the other. Shocker then fires off a blast but Spider-Man dodged the blast and got closer to Shocker. Shocker swings his gauntlet around trying to hit Spider-Man but no luck. Spider-Man managed to strike at his arm and biceps, he then finishes with a spinning hook kick, Shocker got kicked back and was defeated. Spider-Man walked over to a defeated Shocker.
"Looks like I stopped the Kingpin, again. Last chance, who is he?" Spider-Man asking Shocker for answers.
"Doesn't matter. You take me down, he'll just send another one to take you down, again, and again until you're dead, he'll never stop." Shocker tells Spider-Man about the Kingpin.
"Then I'll keep stopping him again and again, enjoy prison." Spider-Man webs up the Shocker.
Sometime later, the police are pulling out Shocker and his associates in their role in this robbery as well as the previous one before that. Spider-Man overlook the Federal Reserve and sees all the damage that has been done. Lucky thanks to the Stark Industries new subsidiary Damage Control, repairs are underway. Whoever this Kingpin is, doesn't care about the destruction around the city and destroying lives.
"Kingpin is still out there and I'm gonna find him, no matter what." Spider-Man says to himself.
He swings away as he still has someone to see.
At Fisk Tower, Wilson Fisk watched as Shocker and his men are defeated and arrested on live TV. He slammed his fist hard on the desk as he lost another battle and more money.
"Damn it! That wall-crawler continues to get in my way again." Kingpin says in anger.
The door opened as Fisk's assistant James Wesley came inside with a long case.
"What is it, Wesley?" Kingpin says to his assistant.
"Sir, the special order you made to Tinkerer is finally here." Wesley says to Kingpin.
Wesley puts the case on the desk as he opens it and shows the new cane made by Tinkerer himself at Kingpin's request. Kingpin walked over and picked it up in his hands as he looks at it.
He activates it as it unleashed a blast of laser energy at the sculpture, it got destroyed by a single blast.
"I trust that you are please with it." Wesley said to Kingpin.
"It's perfect, if Spider-Man come knocking at my door, I'll be more than happy to welcome him with my new gift." Kingpin smiled mischievously as he holds his new weapon.
Sometime later as Liz is still in the hospital bed watching the recent news of today's robbery.
"Herman Schultz, the criminal who goes by the Shocker has finally been arrested by police thanks to the intervention of Spider-Man. Mr. Schultz has a history of armed robbery in the past and was released recently, fortunately he'll be returning back to prison to carry out the rest of his sentence for robbing the Federal Reserve."
Liz then heard a knock as she turns to see Peter Parker outside the door.
"Hi." Peter said nervously.
"I was wondering when I was ever going to see you." Liz smiled at Peter.
"Here, a get well gift for you." Peter shows a flower he hid behind to Liz.
"It's beautiful, thank you." Liz smiled at Peter.
"You're welcome, I see that your doing well." Peter says to Liz.
"Doctor says that I'll making a full recovery though he advised me to take it easy on any activity to be sure." Liz says to Peter.
"I'm sorry Liz." Peter apologize to Liz.
"For what? None of this was your fault. You told me to stay behind and I didn't listen to you." Liz tells Peter.
"Why Liz? Why risk yourself?" Peter is curious.
"I don't know. But right now you shouldn't blame yourself, I never blamed you for what's happened to me." Liz tells Peter.
"Thanks, that's a comfort to know." Peter smiled at Liz.
"Guessing that I'll be far behind on the test after this." Liz says to Peter.
"Well lucky you still have me to tutor you, if you'll still have me." Peter offer to tutor Liz again.
"I'd like that." Liz smiled at Peter.
"Great... get better." Peter says to Liz.
Peter left the room as he already left the flower on the vase, Liz looked at it and smiled. She hasn't told him the reason she went after him.
Peter is walking down the hall until he spots Flash Thompson coming in.
"Don't worry, I'm already leaving." Peter continues to walk.
"Parker, wait!" Flash says to Peter.
Peter stopped as he turns around to see Flash, he has no idea why Flash might be thinking of doing considering they had a fight yesterday.
"I want to say I'm sorry, I went overboard about what happened to Liz and blamed you for it." Flash apologizes to Peter.
"Not like you were wrong, in a way it was my fault." Peter still felt a bit guilty.
"Because she followed you without your knowledge." Flash says to Peter.
"I'd would never risk her own life for me." Peter stated to Flash.
"I know, and I'm sorry I took it out on you." Flash apologize to Peter again.
"It's okay, I get it. You and Liz have a history together." Peter accepted Flash's apology.
"We did, but right now you're the one she cares for the most. Do me a favor, be good to her. She's a great girl." Flash says to Peter.
"I will, I promise." Peter says to Flash.
Peter walks away as Flash watched, Peter didn't know that Liz cared for him, but lately they've became too friendly with one another. Flash could tell that Liz is starting to have feelings for Peter, and yet he doesn't feel jealousy for them anymore. He finally accepted Liz Allan as a friend, he's moved on.
Meanwhile back at Roosevelt Station, Tinkerer is still working on his projects until he got a video call from the Kingpin.
"Mason!" Kingpin says on the screen.
"Kingpin, I'd trust that you find your new toy satisfying?" Tinkerer says to Kingpin.
"Very satisfied, but that's not why I called you. Even though the federal reserve heist was a failure, your projects have been proven successful in creating new villains to fight against Spider-Man. That is why I want to continue funding your projects in exchange for better weapons." Kingpin says to Tinkerer on the screen.
"Of course, thank you Kingpin." Tinkerer is pleased and thanked the Kingpin.
"Sooner or later, Spider-Man shall fall and this city shall tremble before the Kingpin." Kingpin chuckled as he smiles mischievously.
Tinkerer shall now have all the funding needed to continue his experiments in secret for the Kingpin to use in his war against Spider-Man.
