Inside the complex, the woman walks down a hallway and stands outside the door of room 63. She knocks on the door. The door opens and a familiar elderly man with blue eyes and white hair, dressed in a purple long-sleeved shirt, black trousers, socks and shoes, answers the door. The man is ERIK LEHNSHERR, also known as MAGNETO. He smiles.
"I've been expecting you, my dear," said Magneto. "Have you made your decision?"
The woman takes off her hat and shows Magneto her face. The woman is Tessa Sage.
"I have," Sage answered.
Magneto smiles. He holds out his hand. Sage's bare hand holds his. Magneto smiles. Her metal earrings gently lift up and move forward towards Magneto. Her earrings are magnetized. Sage smiles and she holds up a small address book.
"I've brought the information you wanted," said Sage. "Names, addresses, what their mutant powers are... everything."
Magneto smiles at her.
"Please, my dear, step inside," Magneto said. "We have a lot to talk about."
Sage walks in. Magneto walks off to join her, as the knob turns itself and closes the door behind them.
One week later, in the X-Mansion's main office, Logan opens the door and walks in. Xavier is at a round table for twelve with Moira and Beast standing at either side of him. Scott, Jean, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Kitty, Bobby, Piotr, Lorna and Alex are seated with him. The X-Men are in civilian clothes, Xavier has on a black business suit with a blue neck tie, and Moira has on a lab coat over a long-sleeved shirt, a black knee-length skirt, socks and shoes.
"What's this all about?" asked Logan.
"We wanted to speak with you for a moment, Logan," said Logan. "Please, have a seat."
Logan walks over and sits in the vacant chair between Rogue and Kitty.
"Our team has grown since over the past several weeks," said Xavier. "Moira has helped me to create a new set of uniforms for all of you to wear."
Moira and Beast hand out boxes to each X-Man, one by one.
"You're ditching the black leather suits?" asked Logan. "Why?"
"People need to know not all mutants are bad," said Xavier. "They need to know there are some out there, like us, that they can trust, that will protect them from harm. There are people who tend to overlook the shades of gray and see things in black and white. Black uniforms have proven to be not the look of individuals that they trust, especially after the Senate attack last week. We made the new suits bright and colorful on purpose."
Moira and Beast hand out the last boxes, with Moira handing a box to Storm and Beast handing a box to Scott.
"We gave each of you team uniforms," said Xavier, "but with their own unique colors and designs. Moira designed them herself and had Forge help her make these new uniforms for her."
Jean opens her box and she sees her golden yellow-and-blue uniform. Gambit opens his up and he sees his outfit is purple, blue and black. Rogue opens her box and she sees her green-and-yellow outfit. Included with her uniform is a brown bomber jacket, with a high collar and a red X emblem bordering over a black circle on top of each of its sleeves.
Logan opens his box and he sees the brown-and-tan sleeveless costume inside. Logan looks up at Xavier and Moira, skeptically.
"You expect me to show my face in public wearing an outfit like this?" asked Logan.
"I know you're joking," answered Moira, "but I did have an alternative for you."
Moira grabs a small box from the floor, next to Xavier's wheelchair. She walks over to Logan and hands him the box. Logan removes the lid and looks into the box. Inside is a brown cowl with black wing-like flaps and white lenses over the eyes. Logan picks up the cowl and he stares at it.
"I... actually don't hate this," Logan muttered.
Rogue smiles at Logan.
"Close your eyes, Scott," said Jean. "You can see with my eyes."
Jean puts a hand on the side of Scott's head and she stares at the box in front of him. Scott opens his box and he sees his blue and yellow outfit folded up inside, with a y-shaped yellow bandolier connected. He pulls out a yellow visor with a ruby-quartz red lens that goes over both eyes of its wearer. Scott smiles.
"I always did like blue and yellow," said Scott.
Scott looks at Alex and Lorna nearby. Alex looks at his own blue and yellow uniform with a smile.
"I guess it must run in the family," said Alex.
In the Danger Room, the X-Men are standing in the enormous empty room and are now dressed in their new X-Men uniforms.
Storm is wearing a white long-sleeved top with yellow piping, a white cape, a yellow belt, white pants, white gloves and white boots. Yellow lightning bolt earrings are worn on each ear. Storm has red circular buttons with a black X bordering them on either side of her chest that keep her cape clasped on.
Gambit is wearing a long, open brown trench coat over a purple long-sleeved top with blue chest armor, black pants, knee-high blue boots and black gloves that is fingerless at the thumbs, index fingers and pinkie fingers. Gambit has on a black headpiece that exposes his entire face and his hair.
Rogue is wearing a brown bomber jacket over her yellow uniform that has green sleeves and pant legs, a black headband, yellow gloves, yellow knee-high boots, and a brown belt with a black X bordering over its square red belt buckle.
Piotr has is wearing a red v-shaped armored vest with pointed shoulder pads over a yellow sleeveless top, a yellow belt with a red buckle that has a black X bordering it, red pants, red wrist gauntlets and red knee-high boots with yellow armored plates over the knees.
Kitty is wearing a yellow v-shaped vest over a black long-sleeved top, black pants, yellow gloves, a yellow belt that has a red buckle with a black X emblem bordering over it, and yellow boots.
Jean is wearing a blue headband, a golden yellow long-sleeved shirt with blue armor over the chest and down the middle of her torso, blue shoulder pads, a blue belt that has a red circular buckle with a black X bordering it, golden yellow pants, golden yellow gloves and golden yellow boots. Jean's hair is styled and held up in a ponytail.
Scott is wearing a blue long-sleeved top, yellow short shorts, blue pants, yellow gloves, yellow thigh straps and yellow boots. A bandolier is over the left side of his body, making a Y-shape over his shoulders and with a red circular button at his chest with a black X bordering over it. Scott has on his new yellow visor with a red ruby quartz lens over his eyes.
Alex is wearing a navy-blue top with a wide yellow X over the chest, yellow gloves, navy-blue pants, yellow boots and unzipped brown bomber jacket.
Lorna is wearing a yellow tunic over a blue long-sleeved top, a yellow belt, blue pants, yellow elbow-high gloves and yellow boots.
Bobby is wearing a long-sleeved icy blue top that has a white X that goes over his torso and back, white gloves, a silver belt and white boots.
Logan is wearing his brown-and-tan uniform with tan sleeves and pants, brown armor over the chest and down the middle of his torso, brown gloves, brown boots and a red belt that has a square black X-shaped belt buckle. Logan has on his Wolverine cowl.
"What do you think?" asked Jean.
"I think this mask will do in hiding my shame," said Logan.
"I think you look great!" Rogue said sincerely, looking at Logan's new uniform. "The suit looks even better with th' mask on!"
Logan looks at Rogue and he half-smiles.
"Thanks, kid," said Logan.
Gambit shuffles a pair of poker cards in his hands.
"I got t' admit, Moira be one heck of a tailor!" Gambit said with a grin. "This suit be a much better look for Gambit!"
Gambit looks at Rogue and he smirks at her skin-tight outfit.
"You be lookin' pretty good yourself, cherie," Gambit said.
Gambit leans to her playfully, but Rogue quickly puts her hand up and she stops him.
"Easy there, sugah," Rogue said.
Gambit raises an eyebrow.
"An' now I got my own pet nickname," said Gambit. "Looks like my charm be workin' better than I thought."
Rogue fails to hide her smirk.
"I think these new suits are terrific," Jean said.
"I agree," Storm said. "This suit's also much easier to move around in. I can bend my knees now without falling backwards."
Logan looks at Scott and he scoffs. Scott looks at Logan in confusion.
"And you were giving me grief about wearing yellow spandex?" Logan retorted.
"What?" asked Scott.
"Underpants are worn on the inside of the suit, Summers," said Logan.
"I actually love it," said Scott. "I look like one of those heroes in the old comic books that Alex and I grew up reading."
"Huh," said Logan. "Never thought I'd hear 'Scott Summers' and 'comic books' together in the same sentence."
Beast walks up to them with a camera in hand. Beast is wearing an open black vest with a yellow X emblem on the left pectoral and black pants.
"I see everyone's suited up," Beast said, beaming a smile. "Is everyone ready?"
Logan looks at Beast's camera and he grimaces. Logan looks at Beast as his claws pop out of his new brown gloves for the first time.
"You take a photo of me in this, furball," Logan said, "and you're getting that camera where the sun doesn't shine."
"Calm down, Logan," Beast reassured, "it's for the Professor's private photo album. Stand together, everyone."
Moira wheels Xavier's wheelchair and they stop next to Beast. Xavier smiles at his X-Men.
"Well, Professor?" asked Jean. "How do we look?"
"Like the X-Men," Xavier answered, smiling with pride.
The X-Men smile at the response. Logan shakes his head.
"One photo," Logan grumbled. "Make it quick."
"Get in the photo, Hank," said Xavier. "Moira, do the honors, please."
Moira nods and takes the camera. Beast walks over to join the X-Men. The X-Men line up and stand side by side. Scott has his arm around Jean and she smiles.
"Hold that pose!" said Moira.
The X-Men stare at the camera.
"Two... one... smile!" said Moira.
The X-Men smile. Logan doesn't. Moira takes the photo.
