Chapter three

Corcoran-July House_

"Cassie gave her daughter the food to take inside the house and instructed her to get five plates out of the kitchen cabinet and place them on the dining room table. As they entered the house, Cassie explained that they were expecting Quinn and her friend Kitty Wilde.

Santana looked up at both of her mothers, confused as to why Kitty was coming over with Quinn. She informed them that Kitty was Rachel's friend."

The older brunette softly informs her daughter that they will have more information about the matter once "they" arrive.

Following her Mama's orders, the young brunette set the plates in the dining room before taking off her shoes by the hallway closet. Her mother nearly stumbled over the shoes.

Shelby calls out to her daughter, Tiger, requesting that she pick up her shoes from the floor and return them to their rightful place in the closet.

The Latina pick up her shoes apologized to her mother and put it in her bedroom closet then she heard the door open downstairs in she peek over the railing in see Quinn and Kitty walking in with a suitcase. Quinn and Santana glance at one another before Santana runs back towards her room nearly knocking down her Mama.

The blonde mother caught her daughter's arm as she attempted to run up the stairs and reminded her to be more careful. She released her daughter's arm after Santana apologized

Kitty was grateful to Coach Corcoran for letting her visit her beautiful house. Shelby told Kitty that there was no need to thank her and that she should address her as Ms. Corcoran for now. While this was happening, Quinn whispered to ask about S's situation. Shelby reassured her that San was sulking because she'd been grounded, and that it had nothing to do with Quinn, so she didn't have to worry. Quinn nodded and then revealed that she'd been dealing with some personal issues at home recently. Her father had kicked her out of their home two weeks ago after she befriended Rachel, and this has been affecting her behavior towards her classmates.

"Shelby glanced at Kitty and asked her to go to another room while she spoke to Quinn. Kitty got up and Shelby directed her where to go. After Kitty left, Shelby turned her attention to Quinn.

"Why did Russell kick you out of your home just because you're friends with Rachel?" Shelby asked. Cassie then sat down next to Shelby on the couch.

"Quinn explained that her father doesn't allow her to befriend Rachel because Rachel has two dads. Cassie chimed in, saying that her dad needs to work on his arrogance and that Quinn should have told them sooner about any problems she's been having. Cassie added that they would be happy to help her in any way they can and that she is always welcome at their home. Quinn had previously expressed that she didn't want to intrude, but Cassie assured her that she is always welcome."

Quinn acknowledges that she could visit anytime but fears that Shelby and Cass wouldn't allow it if they knew about her bullying Rachel. She's worried about their reaction. Despite their differences, Rachel and Quinn have reconciled and become friends again. Quinn explains how close she and Rachel have become since San has been distant for unknown reasons.

Shelby and Cass express their disappointment in San and Quinn. They reprimand Quinn, telling her that bullying is always wrong, and question whether she ever considered how Rachel felt when she was hurt. Shelby asks if Quinn ever thought about how belittling Rachel made her feel better.

In a hushed tone, Quinn admits that she had never considered Rachel's feelings. She clarifies that she was hurt and needed to vent her anger on someone.

Shelby and Quinn sit on each side of the younger blonde."I won't do it again," Quinn says, looking at them.

Quinn's conversation with her friends started with Cassie telling her that bullying is not the best way to solve her problems. Cassie asked Quinn about how long she had been bullying a girl, and Quinn answered honestly, saying that it had been three and a half weeks. Shelby raised an eyebrow and asked if it had to do with Quinn's dad's beliefs. Quinn admitted that it started with that but then turned into jealousy. She stopped bullying her classmate because she had gotten to know Cassie and Shelby, and she knew they wouldn't approve.

Cassie noticed that Quinn and San had been distant lately. She asked Quinn why, and she responded that San barely talks to her at school and stops hanging out with her when she's with Kitty and Rachel. Shelby said it didn't sound like San at all, and Cassie agreed, asking if something was going on with her at school.

Quinn told them that the only interaction she had with San was when she jumped when she touched her shoulder before cheerleading practice in asked her what was wrong, but San told her to leave her alone. She missed the cheerleading practice and brushed Quinn off when she tried to reach out. Cassie saw how Quinn kept looking at San, and she suspected that was why they were not talking in the car like they used to.

Mom, Mama the food is getting cold Santana informed her parents. through the kitchen.

We're coming honey Shebly says then turn to Quinn you're a good friend to her and we will talk more about it later. Seeing the younger nod She hugs Quinn and then lets her go. Let's go eat dinner then tomorrow afternoon we're getting all of the things Quinn.

Ok, Quinn says following them to the dining room and Cassie calls Kitty into the room so they can eat together.

They quietly enjoyed their dinner. Cassie asked Kitty how long she had been a cheerleader. "Since freshman year," Kitty replied, looking across the table.

Cassie asked, "Do you enjoy cheerleading?"

Kitty confirmed, "Yes, I love it! It allows me to combine my two passions - dancing and cheerleading."

Cassie inquired, "How long have you been dancing, and what are your plans?"

"About six years," Kitty answered, taking a bite of her food. "I'm considering becoming a lawyer or a professional dancer."

Cassie reassured her, "Whichever path you choose will be great."

Kitty then asked, "Do you own a dance studio?"

"I own two studios," Cassie replied.

Suddenly, Santana interrupted their conversation, "What were you talking about in the parking lot, telling the Glee Club?"

Shelby quickly interjected, "Tiger, be nice to our guest," placing her hand on Santana's. "And I need you to apologize for your behavior," she added, directing her attention at Santana.

Santana looked at her mother and said, "Mom..."

Shelby calmly responded, "No, sweetheart. You know better than that."

"Fine!" Santana angrily replied, crossing her arms. She then looked over at Kitty and said, "I'm sorry for being rude." Kitty nodded in understanding.

"As the mother observed the younger brunette beside her, she sensed that the girl was in stubborn mode. "How was school today, girls?" she asked. Each of the girls responded, "Fine." Then, San requested to be excused, stating that she was tired. The mother agreed, assuring her that she would speak with her shortly. However, as Santana rose from her chair, the mother quickly nodded and she left the room.

Following dinner, Quinn assisted Shelby and Cassie with cleaning up the kitchen. She placed the leftovers in the refrigerator and turned around to face them. "Cassie and Shelby, can I talk to you about S?" she asked, looking at them.

Shelby replied immediately, "Of course, you can, sweetie." They moved to sit down at the stools by the counter. Quinn's voice trembled a bit as she spoke. "I don't know how to tell you this, but I think someone at school is harassing her. That's why she's been acting out on everyone."

Cassie jumped in, "Do you have any idea who it might be?"

"No," Quinn replied. "I just saw five boys walking away, laughing and talking about pushing a girl around."

Both Cassie and Shelby put their hands to their mouths in shock. "We need the names of those boys," Shelby said, grabbing her phone.

Quinn spoke up again, "I don't know who they are, but I asked S. She just pushed me to the locker and told me to go away. We got into a heated argument and exchanged a couple of blows before Glee practice a week ago."

"Quinn, you know better," Cassie admonished her. "If we find out that you've acted up in school again, you'll face the consequences. You know what that means."

"I know," Quinn replied. "I'll be good in school. And don't tell S that I told you guys. I'm worried sick about her."

"Our lips are sealed," Shelby reassured her, hugging the younger girl. Cassie joined in on the hug. "Do me a favor and keep an eye on her for us," Shelby said.

"After promising to help, Quinn immediately went upstairs to put her belongings away in her room."

Once Santana changed into her nightclothes, she lay down on her bed while her mothers showed Kitty around the house. The bedroom belonging to Kitty and Quinn was adjacent to and connected to the bathroom. Later on, during a private conversation, Kitty informed Santana's parents that her family had disowned her and that she had been invited to stay with them for a while. After Santana turned away, both of her mothers sat down on her bed.

Cassie, Santana's mother, ran her fingers through her hair and explained to her that they were being tough on her for her benefit. Santana acknowledged their intentions but expressed her sadness about the ongoing issues. Shelby then joined the conversation and asked Santana about the root of her problems.

Santana opened up to her parents about bullying Rachel at school because of her jealousy toward Rachel's seemingly perfect life. She clarified that living with Shelby and Cassandra had made her a better person, but her feelings toward Rachel persisted. Shelby offered comfort to Santana and emphasized Rachel's status as the "golden girl."

Santana explained that Rachel received special treatment from certain teachers that other students did not receive.

Tiger and Cassie expressed that they needed names, and San replied that he couldn't tell them currently. Shelby inquired whether someone at school was bothering San, to which San quickly denied it. Both moms exchanged a glance before turning back to San. "You can tell us anything," encouraged Cassie. San eventually revealed that a few people at school had been harassing her since she started living with them. Shelby asked how long the harassment had been going on, and Santana explained that it had been happening ever since they began living together. "We need names," Cassie urged. "We plan to visit the school and meet with Figgins to discuss this matter. Do the teachers know about this bullying?" Shelby said. Santana begged her moms not to confront the school, believing it would only make things worse. She asked if she could skip school the next day, but was informed that she had English and math tests. Shelby and Cassie decided that they were going to the school, anyway and San found herself sighing before resting her head in her mother's arms. Her mom comforted her by holding her close, kissing her head, rubbing her back, and singing her to sleep.

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside

I'm not one of those who can easily hide

I don't have much money, but, boy, if I did

I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, heh, but then again, no

Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show

I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do

My gift is my song, and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song

It may be quite simple, but now that it's done

I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words

How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss

Well, a few of the verses, well, they've got me quite cross

But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song

It's for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me for forgetting, but these things I do

You see, I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue

Anyway, the thing is, what I mean

Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody this is your song

It may be quite simple, but now that it's done

I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words

How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words

How wonderful life is while you're in the world

"The older brunette kissed her daughter on the top of the head while holding her as she slept. She rubbed her back and then laid her in bed, quietly pulling the covers over her. Afterward, she checked in on the other two girls. Quinn received a goodnight kiss and Kitty wished them goodnight, while the girl closed her eyes telling her goodnight. Shelby then went to her room to get ready for bed.

She snuggles with her wife then they went to sleep."
